It seems that Barty Crouch Sr., the notoriously incorruptible high-ranking official of the Ministry of Magic, somehow managed to rescue his son from Azkaban and even found him a scapegoat.

However, he ultimately died as a result of Voldemort's plot, which is truly an ironic tragedy.

So, is Barty Crouch Jr. still at Hogwarts?

Who did he impersonate using the compound decoction?

Does he have any accomplices?

What role did the snake play in this whole plan?

Sagres looked around the desolate mansion and knew there were no more answers to be found.

He needs to return to Hogwarts immediately.

Chapter 365 Demanding the Marauder's Map

Without a moment's hesitation, Sagres instantly used Apparition to return to Hogwarts after sorting out his thoughts.

His mind was filled with doubts, and there were many potential suspects—Karkaroff's unusual behavior, the strangeness of Snape's storeroom, Moody's overly "timely" appearance, the enthusiastic Ludo Bagman, and the headmasters and students who came to Hogwarts from other schools...

He couldn't verify them one by one; what he needed now was irrefutable evidence, a tool that could see through all the pretenses and point directly to the real person.

He thought of Harry's Marauder's Map, which Moody had taken away.

Without hesitation, Sagres went straight to the Defense Against the Dark Arts office, only to find the door locked and Moody not there, perhaps out teaching class.

After a moment's thought, Sagres headed toward the main corridor leading to the faculty lounge, where he encountered Ginny Weasley, Luna Lovegood, and Astoria Greengrass walking towards him.

They were chatting enthusiastically as they headed together toward the dueling arena.

"Good afternoon, Professor Greengrass!" Ginny, with her sharp eyes, was the first to notice Sagrass and quickly stopped to greet him respectfully.

Luna looked at Sagrais with her slightly unfocused big eyes and said in a clear voice, "Good afternoon, Professor."

Astoria smiled sweetly and gracefully, and gave a curtsy: "Good afternoon, Professor."

"Good afternoon, Miss Weasley, and you two as well." Sagres nodded slightly and casually asked, "Are you heading to the dueling ring?"

“Yes, Professor,” Astoria explained with a smile, “We heard that Professor Moody gave a sparring lesson to the upperclassmen in the ring this afternoon! Apparently it was very… well, intense. A lot of people went to watch, and we didn’t want to miss it either.”

"Practical training?"

Sagles's heart skipped a beat, but he said calmly, "It certainly sounds worth seeing. That's exactly where I'm going..."

He shook his head, gesturing for the others to follow: "Come with me."

The three girls naturally had no objections. They shut their chattering mouths, exchanged glances, and obediently followed Sagres to the floating arena with him.

Crossing the suspension bridge woven from vines, the group could hear Moody's hoarse voice and the sounds of students practicing defensive spells from afar.

When they arrived, the stands around the arena were already filled with students, including students from various Hogwarts houses, as well as figures wearing Durmstrang fur cloaks, Beauxbatons silk robes, and other school-specific costumes.

All eyes were focused on the center of the ring.

Moody stood there, his scarred face now etched with sternness and focus.

His demonic eyes darted wildly in their sockets, scanning every student present, while his good eye was fixed on a Hufflepuff boy not far away who was so nervous that he was almost moving his hands and feet in unison.

Sagres did not disturb the class. He stood quietly at the edge of the ring, watching Moody limp among the students, sharply correcting each student's spellcasting movements and postures.

His teaching style is blunt and direct, but it is indeed effective.

"—Be vigilant! Always be vigilant!"

Moody's voice was rough and loud, amplified by the magic and clearly reaching every corner, "The enemy won't wait for you to finish your spell! Dark wizards don't care about dueling etiquette!"

He swung his wand sharply, and a spell beam, not fatal but extremely fast, shot towards the Hufflepuff boy.

The boy frantically tried to dodge, his movements clumsy, but he ultimately couldn't avoid it. Struck by the cursed light, he staggered back a few steps before landing hard on his backside.

"Did you see that?!"

Moody growled, his wooden leg slamming forward. "You're too slow! In a real fight, you'd be dead already, completely helpless! Grip your wand tighter! Move! Don't stand like a statue!"

He criticized mercilessly, then turned to the others: "I'll say it again! Defense Against the Dark Arts isn't just for show! It's a survival skill! It's the ability to get you home alive when you encounter true darkness!"

Next, he demonstrated a rather bizarre attack spell, with skillful technique and tricky angles, which amazed many students in the stands.

Sagles slowly walked up only after the bell rang to signal the end of get out of class.

“Professor Moody,” Sagles greeted calmly.

Moody turned around, his normal eye looking at Sagrais, while his demonic eye warily scanned the surroundings.

“Sagles,” he replied gruffly, “what is it?”

His wooden leg made a soft "thump" sound on the ring floor.

"Yes, it's a small matter."

Sagres cut to the chase, “I remember you took a map from Potter before, a map that showed the location of everyone in the castle.”

Moody's one eye narrowed, his gaze sharpening, but he didn't deny it: "Yes, the Marauder's Map. It's definitely with me. How so?"

“I need to borrow it for a bit,” Sagles explained calmly. “There are some things that need to be verified. It might offer some unique perspectives.”

Moody stared at Sagrais for a few seconds. His weathered face revealed little emotion, but his demonic eye stopped moving, as if it were rapidly thinking and judging.

Finally, he nodded:

"Sure. That thing is indeed somewhat useful. I can go to the office and get it for you right now."

Sagras nodded slightly: "Thank you."

However, Moody quickly added, "But I must remind you, that map is, after all, Potter's. I'm holding it for now, but the ownership still belongs to him. If you want to borrow it, you'd better ask the kid's opinion first."

This request is reasonable.

Sagles expressed his understanding: "Of course, that's how it should be."

Moody grunted in response, his sharp magic eye immediately scanning the dispersing crowd and pinpointing Harry Potter, who was preparing to leave with Ron and Hermione.

"Potter!"

Moody's rough voice carried an unquestionable command, "Come here!"

Harry was taken aback, somewhat confused, especially when he saw Professor Sagrais standing next to Moody, which made him even more uneasy.

He exchanged an uneasy glance with Ron and Hermione, but still quickly walked over.

“Professor Moody? Professor Greengrass?” Harry greeted him hesitantly.

Chapter 366 Shocking Change

Moody didn't beat around the bush. His normal eye was fixed on Harry, and he went straight to the point. His voice wasn't loud, but it was loud enough for the people nearby to hear him.

His tone was clearly displeased: "Porter, I remember telling you not to reveal a single word about what happened that night!"

Harry's face flushed instantly. He felt embarrassed and ashamed, his eyes darting around, unsure how to answer.

He did tell Professor Greengrass about it, but he never expected things to turn out this way, with them facing each other in person.

“I…I didn’t…I mean…” Harry tried to explain, but the words got stuck in his throat.

Seeing Harry's embarrassed expression, Moody gave a heavy snort, seemingly not intending to delve into it, and instead explained the real reason he had called him over: "Alright! Now let's get down to business. Professor Greengrass wants to borrow your Marauder's Map."

He pointed at Sagres. "The map is with me now, but it's yours. I'm asking you now, are you willing to lend it to Sagres?"

The sudden change of topic relieved Harry, but was immediately followed by surprise.

He glanced at the calm-looking Sagres beside him and nodded almost without hesitation:

"No problem, Professor."

Harry answered readily, "If Professor Greengrass needs it, of course."

Harry clearly had considerable trust in Sacramento.

Moody seemed somewhat surprised by Harry's straightforwardness. He raised his thick eyebrows, glanced at Sagrais, and muttered, "Looks like you're more trusted by your students than I am, a proper Defense Against the Dark Arts teacher, Sagrais."

He then patted Harry on the shoulder and added in a low voice, "Watch your mouth, kid. Don't tell everyone everything, especially before you understand the situation. You know, it's dangerous."

Harry nodded somewhat awkwardly, filled with doubt and a hint of frustration after being reprimanded, and turned to walk towards Ron and Hermione who were waiting for him.

During the brief pause in Moody's reprimand of Harry, Sagles stood aside, patiently waiting with a calm expression.

However, a barely perceptible glint of silver light flashed in the depths of his eyes—he had quietly activated Legilimency, targeting Mad-Eye Moody's story-filled mind.

He needed to confirm whether the Moody in front of him was truly as "honest" as he appeared, or rather, he needed to confirm whether the crazy-eyed man in front of him was really Alastor Moody.

However, just as his hidden magic attempted to probe into the other person's mind, he encountered a wall—a cold and hard barrier of brain-sealing technique!

This barrier carried a fierce will to fight back, instantly blocking Sagres's hidden probing magic outside the fortress!

Sagres narrowed his eyes.

This level of brain-sealing technique is beyond the reach of ordinary wizards; it is imbued with the vigilance honed through real combat and an instinctive rejection of any form of mental intrusion.

Yes, his attempt at Legislation was surprisingly unsuccessful; he failed to obtain any information and returned empty-handed.

Almost simultaneously, Moody's normal eye abruptly turned towards Sagrais, while the Demon Eye stopped turning and stared intently at him.

Instead of showing anger, Moody's face broke into a smile that was both mocking and knowing.

“Hmph,” Moody snorted, his voice low and mocking, “Sagres, I advise you not to try to hack into an old Auror’s head! There’s not much in there that you’ll be interested in besides dark wizards and traps, and uninvited guests are usually not very welcoming.”

He chose to be direct, bringing this silent confrontation to the forefront.

Sagles remained unfazed, as if he himself had not been the one who had just tried to probe the other's thoughts.

He nodded slightly and said calmly, "I'm sorry, Professor Moody. Sometimes it's hard to control myself."

Then, as if to ease the tension, he naturally changed the subject: "Speaking of which, I have to thank you for recommending Mr. Fronken to me. Loctis is very satisfied with its current 'eyes'; they are powerful and have a unique field of vision."

Moody's facial muscles twitched, and his demonic eye followed suit.

"It's a small matter."

He waved his hand dismissively, "That old man Fronken is quite skilled, but he's not cheap. As long as it works, it's fine."
