"Alright, then I'll go find Caesar and Chu Zihang."
Upon hearing the news, student council president César Gattuso merely raised an eyebrow and said to Nono beside him, "Sounds like an event that will leave you with some good memories."
Then the student council quickly sprang into action, taking over the preparations for the main stage, lighting, and sound. Nono was even more excited, dragging Susie and Xia Mi into the student council's fashion workshop, supposedly to prepare a big surprise.
When Lu Mingfei nervously inquired whether the Lionheart Society could provide some security support, mainly to prevent the Equipment Department from acting recklessly, Chu Zihang nodded expressionlessly and replied succinctly, "Yes."
Xia Mi, grinning like a kitten that'd just stolen some cream, tugged at Chu Zihang's arm: "Senior brother! Let's cosplay together! I've already picked out the characters for you!"
Chu Zihang's lips twitched slightly, but he didn't object.
Even Professor Schneider of the Executive Department was personally persuaded by Principal Angers. Although his face was obscured by an oxygen mask, his hoarse breathing was noticeably heavier than usual.
Professor Guderian was quite excited and said he wanted to cosplay as his favorite science fiction character. Professor Manstein kept complaining that it was "indecent" and a "waste of time," but after much persuasion from Vice-President Flamel, he reluctantly agreed.
Chapter 295 Kassel Animation Festival (Part 2)
Finger von Frings, the moderator of the Night Watchers discussion forum, head of the news department, and Kassel's number one slacker and intelligence broker, got up earlier than anyone else today. Instead of rushing to change into a fancy cosplay outfit like most people, he was squatting in his intelligence hub, a dimly lit room piled with computer mainframes, cables, and pizza boxes.
"Attention all departments! Operation Ragnarok has officially begun! Drone number one, take your positions! Drone number two, prepare to capture the Chairman and President's embarrassing moments! Drone number three, keep a close eye on those lunatics in the Equipment Department. If they dare to blow up the comic convention, we'll be on the front page!" Fingel shouted into the microphone, spitting as he spoke. The screen was divided into countless small windows, transmitting images from all over the campus in real time.
Suddenly, an empty screen next to him lit up, displaying a picture of a beautiful girl.
"Finger, do so many people like anime festivals?"
Fingel chuckled, grabbed a bag of potato chips, and tore it open: "EVA, you don't understand. This isn't just a holiday, it's a feast! It's an epic scene where the elites of Kassel collectively abandon their inhibitions and embrace their youthful spirit! Look, look!"
He pointed to a member of the disciplinary committee on the screen, dressed as Kakashi Hatake from Naruto, scare younger students with a flashlight, and said, "This kid is usually so arrogant! But now... hehe, one more piece of dirt on him!"
EVA's light and shadow flickered slightly. "So, Fingel, what characters are you and I going to cosplay today?"
Fingel took a big bite of potato chips and mumbled, "The two of us? Of course, you're the best logistics manager here! Help me coordinate the drone signals, filter out the overly heavy low-pressure area around Professor Schneider Darth Vader's version, and by the way, um, Photoshop me together with that girl on the screen cosplaying as Saber, make it look nice!"
EVA paused for a moment, then light and shadow shifted, and a flawless image appeared on the screen: Fingel, wearing a wrinkled T-shirt and with greasy hair, gazed affectionately at a dashing, blond-haired, blue-eyed knight king, with blooming cherry blossoms in the background.
"Based on your appearance, temperament, and behavioral data, the probability of this scenario occurring is less than 0.0001%. Would you like me to filter cosplay subjects that match your real-world social standing? For example, the goblin merchant from World of Warcraft?"
Fingel coughed repeatedly, choked by the potato chips: "EVA! That hurts! I'm one of the directors of today's event!"
The college square was now bustling with people.
"Make way! Make way! My tail is about to fall off!" A girl dressed as Ahri from League of Legends screamed as she squeezed through the crowd, her nine fluffy tails swaying precariously behind her.
Nearby, a burly student dressed as Luffy from One Piece was trying to put his straw hat on his head while drooling over the meat buns on the stall: "Meat! I want to eat meat!"
"Your Gum-Gum Fruit ability is fake, but my Sharingan is real!" Another boy cosplaying as Sasuke Uchiha from Naruto proudly showed off his blood-red contact lenses, but accidentally bumped into someone cosplaying a member of the Survey Corps from Attack on Titan. The two almost got tangled up in the complicated belts and ropes.
Lu Mingfei, dressed as Ichigo Kurosaki, stood awkwardly in the center of the square. His orange wig, like a burning flame, attracted a lot of attention.
"Lu, Kurosaki-kun, you're holding your Zanpakuto backwards," Zero, dressed as Enma Ai, calmly pointed out. Her crimson eyes looked particularly beautiful in the sunlight, and a scarecrow doll had appeared in her hand at some point.
"Huh? Oh!" Lu Mingfei hurriedly turned the plastic knife around, his face slightly red.
Sailor Moon Isabel, brimming with energy, strikes her classic pose: "In the name of the moon, I will punish you all. Oh, no, I mean, I wish you all a good time!" Her golden twin tails bounce with her movements.
"Here's a joke: Frilian is cosplaying Frilian from 'The Burial of Frilian'."
"The joke isn't funny, it's too lame. Lu Mingfei, you don't have the talent for this," said Frillie, who was cosplaying as herself, while eating a lollipop and looking at her strange classmates.
A female student dressed as Cardcaptor Sakura ran past her, holding a magic wand. Lu Mingfei's gaze lingered for a moment on the star at the top of the wand.
Zero saw it and murmured to herself, "So you like this kind of thing." She secretly resolved to wear this type of clothing more often.
Wow! Gilgamesh!
Hmm? Lu Mingfei turned his head to look at the student council area.
Caesar Gilgamesh and Nono Alice make their appearance; they are a handsome man and a beautiful woman, very attractive.
Caesar, clad in golden armor, surveyed the entire arena with his crimson eyes, exuding an innate arrogance. He didn't even need to imitate; Gilgamesh's domineering aura perfectly suited him.
He raised his hand slightly and instructed the student council officers beside him: "Go and clean up the noisiest stall over there. It annoys me."
Of course, this was just a joke he made to fit his role; the cadres understood perfectly and went to maintain order with smiles on their faces.
Nono linked arms with him, and in the flower basket nestled in her arm, several real flowers bloomed vibrantly. Seeing Lu Mingfei and his group, she blew a kiss from afar: "Hey, Ichigo, where's your Rukia?"
His gaze swept over Zero and Frillie.
"Yeah, who do you choose?" Zero stared intently at Lu Mingfei.
"Ah, this, that, Frillian, oh no, Zero, no, no, I..." Lu Mingfei was sweating profusely.
On the other side, Chu Zihang Wutiao Wu's silver hair and white eye patch attracted countless eyes, especially from the girls.
"Senior brother! Look over here!" Xia Mi Anya held up a huge sign with a "" symbol on it, trying to get Chu Zihang's attention.
Susie Haibara Ai stood on Chu Zihang's other side and whispered, "Zihang, at one o'clock, three cosplayers from the Chaos Evil faction have infiltrated the Lionheart Society's dessert area. Should we deal with them?"
Chu Zihang gave a soft "Mmm," and Susie quietly left, like a true assassin. Xia Mi seized the opportunity to grab Chu Zihang's arm: "Senior brother, let's go eat peanuts. Ah, no, let's go eat crepes! Anya wants some!"
"Hey, do you know how extraterrestrial life evolved? Blah blah blah..."
The mad scientist Professor Guderian was excitedly discussing the theoretical evolutionary possibilities of an alien creature with the stall owner at a booth selling alien creature models, his spittle flying as he spoke.
Professor Hawkeye Manstein's face was ashen. Several students dressed as characters from "JoJo's Bizarre Adventure" were drawing muscular poses on the pillars of Valhalla with chalk.
"What kind of behavior is this! This is a historical artifact!" he roared, but the comical hat on his head greatly diminished his authority, and the students apologized while snickering.
Schneider Darth Vader of the Executive Division was like a mobile fortress of darkness. Wherever he went, the crowds automatically dispersed. Heavy breathing came through his mask, even more suffocating than usual.
A fearless student dressed as a Star Wars Rebel soldier shouted at him while holding a toy blaster, "The Force is with you!"
Professor Schneider stopped, turned his helmet toward the student, and remained silent for a full five seconds, his hoarse breathing seemingly halting. Then, in his masked, even deeper and more menacing voice, he slowly said, "You seem to have accumulated far too many social practice credits this academic year."
The student turned deathly pale instantly and fled in panic. The surrounding crowd gasped, trying not to laugh.
Chapter 296 Kassel Animation Festival (Part 2)
The atmosphere at the Kassel College Animation Festival reached its peak in the afternoon. Sunlight streamed through the colorful anime flags fluttering in the sky above the square, bathing the crowds in their outlandish costumes.
The jubilation reached its peak when Fingel, well-informed and using drones and hidden loudspeakers throughout the venue, dressed up as L from Death Note, squatting in a corner eating cake, and announced, "Special Program: Hero King Gilgamesh VS Jujutsu Kaisen Gojo Satoru! The showdown of the century is about to take place at the Fantasy Arena (formerly the Kendo Club training ground)!"
The crowd surged like a tide towards the area temporarily named the Fantasy Arena. What was originally the wooden training ground of the kendo club was now surrounded by layers upon layers of spectators. Students dressed as various swordsmen, magicians, mecha pilots, and Pokémon craned their necks, eager to witness this cosplay performance, arguably the best in Kassel.
In the center of the arena, Caesar Gilgamesh stood with his hands behind his back.
Opposite him, Chu Zihang, also known as Gojo Satoru, stood quietly. A white eye patch concealed his most distinctive eyes, leaving only his sharply defined jawline and tightly pursed lips. His silver hair, a stark contrast to his usual black, added a touch of mystery and untamed spirit. His black high school uniform accentuated his tall and straight figure, and although his hands were empty, his casual stance seemed to emanate an invisible, boundless aura.
No host was needed; the atmosphere was lively enough.
"Caesar! Caesar! Unrivaled in the world!"
"Chu Zihang! Chu Zihang! I am the only one who is strong!"
The student council members were naturally Caesar's die-hard supporters, while the Lionheart Society members cheered for their leader without hesitation. The sounds mingled together, almost lifting the roof off the training ground. Other neutral students were also excitedly discussing among themselves.
"My God! Gilgamesh versus Gojo Satoru! Who came up with this idea? It's incredible!"
"I bet a bottle of Eton Lemonade, Chairman, you win!"
"I bet on the president! Gojo Satoru is invincible!"
"The key is how they act! Will they show Gate of Babylon and the Jade?"
Lu Mingfei, along with his small team, was swept along by the crowd to the edge of the arena. Zero Enma Ai walked quietly beside him, her crimson eyes sweeping over the two facing off in the center of the arena without any emotion.
Sailor Moon jumped up excitedly: "Wow! It's Senior Brother Caesar and Senior Brother Chu Zihang! Are they going to fight? How exciting!"
Lu Mingfei glanced at the two prominent figures in the arena, inwardly marveling. No wonder they were the boss and his senior; even their cosplay duel was like a final battle. Just as he was wondering if he could squeeze into a better spot, the boy next to him, dressed as Chopper in his reindeer form from *One Piece*, recognized him and asked excitedly in a muffled voice, "Lu Mingfei, oh no, Kurosaki-kun! Who are you supporting? It must be President Chu Zihang, right? You guys are both so strong!"
This question drew the attention of several nearby students, who looked on with curiosity. Lu Mingfei suddenly felt immense pressure. He scratched his orange wig, glanced at the imposing Caesar, then at the unfathomable Chu Zihang, chuckled dryly, and drawled, "..."
"Of course—"
He paused deliberately, whetting the appetites of those around him.
"I support it!"
Amidst the jeers and jeers of the crowd, he chuckled and said, "You're always looking for trouble, aren't you? Let's fight! Let's fight!"
As if in response to his call, the two people in the room moved.
Caesar struck first. He didn't summon any Noble Phantasm, but instead, with an extremely arrogant posture, he took a step forward and casually swung his right hand forward. The movement was graceful and powerful, as if an invisible weapon had truly shot out from the Gate of Babylon, creating a whooshing sound. Relying on his aura, body language, and the Word of Power: Kamaitachi, he forcefully portrayed the oppressive feeling of a Noble Phantasm being fired simultaneously.
Almost simultaneously with Caesar's movement, Chu Zihang on the opposite side also moved. Instead of dodging, he raised his right hand, fingers spread, and held it steadily in front of him—the classic defensive stance of Gojo Satoru using the "No Limit Technique"! His face, clad in a white eyepatch, was slightly turned towards the direction of Caesar's attack. Although he didn't speak, his actions and aura perfectly embodied the composure of "all attacks are infinite before me."
"Wow!"
A deafening roar of cheers and applause erupted from the sidelines. It was so lifelike! This kind of duel, relying entirely on acting skills and sheer charisma without any special effects, was far more thrilling than a real fight!
Caesar was not surprised that Chu Zihang could block his attack. He snorted coldly, mimicking Gilgamesh's contemptuous tone, and charged forward. He did not use any weapons, but instead incorporated his powerful fighting skills into the performance. His punches and kicks were swift and powerful, each strike filled with the domineering power of a king, as if he were crushing the disrespectful bastard with his physical skills.
Chu Zihang imitated Gojo Satoru's effortless fighting style, his movements agile, sometimes dodging Caesar's sharp punches by sidestepping, and sometimes using skillful parries to defuse the attacks.
"clang!"
Caesar swiped a decorative, unsharpened Western ceremonial longsword from the student council's logistics department, and Chu Zihang picked up a wooden Japanese sword that was prepared on the weapon rack next to him at almost the same time.
"The Gate of Babylon has finally been made into a physical object!"
"Gojo Satoru is using a sword? Oh right, he seems to know how to use one too!"
"So cool!"
The two figures clashed rapidly in the center of the arena, sword flashes and fist shadows flying. Caesar's swordsmanship was expansive and powerful, each strike carrying Gilgamesh's arrogance and destructive will. Chu Zihang's saber technique was sharp and swift, combined with his elusive movements, showcasing Gojo Satoru's strongest composure.
They weren't really fighting to the death; every clash was kept within the bounds of performance. But their ingrained fighting instincts and their understanding of their characters made the duel incredibly tense and entertaining.
The students watching were completely engrossed, with shouts and screams rising and falling. Many of them held up their phones to record what was probably the most anime-like and top-level competition in the history of Kassel College.
Lu Mingfei stared in disbelief, muttering to himself, "Damn, this acting, this fight choreography, it's a real shame they're not making tokusatsu films."
Xia Mi Anya emerged from the audience, holding a huge sign that read "Go, Chu Zihang's Dad!" and shouted with all her might, "Go, Chu Zihang's Dad!"
This innocent shout triggered a magical switch.
Chu Zihang, who was engaged in fierce combat, paused for a moment. Although his expression was obscured by the mask, his movement of deflecting Caesar's next attack with his sword was even more swift and decisive than before.
Caesar also heard the shout, glanced at the excited Xia Mi on the sidelines, and a more unrestrained smile appeared on his lips. His offensive became even more fierce.
Finally, after a series of dazzling exchanges of offense and defense, Chu Zihang seized upon Caesar's slight opening, his wooden sword poking Caesar's wrist as he held his sword. Almost simultaneously, Caesar's decorative sword approached Chu Zihang's ribs.
The two people froze in their movements simultaneously.
