Conan, I'm an actor

Author: Europeans Don't Die from Stabs

Summary:

After being transported to the world of Detective Conan, Shinjo is assigned by high-ranking police officials to infiltrate a counterfeit drug organization as an undercover agent.

After years of hard work in the organization, I finally rose from a lowly henchman to a leader with a code name and some influence.

Just as he was preparing to use his position to earn some retirement money, someone told him that the police database had been leaked yet again.

To avoid being killed as a traitor, Xincheng chose to fake his death after transferring a large sum of assets.

After finally escaping back to Japan, he discovered that all his accounts had been frozen. Fortunately, he had prepared a backup plan, and as long as he could get through these few years, he could reclaim his assets.

As a result, because he helped some scoundrel on the Shinkansen, he, who was already "dead," was targeted by Gin again.

Chapter 1 Koshimizu Detective Agency

Tokyo, Koshimizu Detective Agency

A piercing alarm clock shattered the tranquility of the office. After ringing for about a minute, a noticeably malnourished hand reached out from under the covers and turned on the alarm.

A short while later, a messy head of hair popped out from under the covers.

"I'm so tired, should I go back to sleep for a while?" Tetsuo Shinjo felt a biting chill as soon as he got up. "Why is this weather so cold? Anyway, I'm almost done with my work, so I might as well sleep for a while longer."

It's only been a short time since autumn began, but the temperature is already frighteningly low, especially in the mornings and evenings.

"Uncle, hurry up and put your clothes on. You're affecting our agency's image. If our clients see this, they'll think we're unprofessional, and we'll lose the business we've already secured." Just as Shinjo was about to crawl back into bed, a piece of clothing was draped over him, covering his entire head.

"Xiaoyue Shui, let me remind you, our agency has been open for half a year now, and we've only taken on small cases like finding lost cats and dogs." Shinjo pulled the clothes over his shoulders. "We're hopeless."

“Uncle, shouldn’t you look at your own problem?” Koshimizu Nanatsuki changed into her school uniform. “I’m a well-known high school detective in the area, and I’ve helped the police solve many cases.”

“First of all, I have to remind you that most people hire older detectives, at least in their thirties, because they are experienced. A high school detective is just a gimmick; it can’t be relied on.” Shinjo wrapped his coat around himself. “Besides, you’ll be 20 in a few months, right? There’s a limit to how much you can pretend to be young.”

"Do you think I'm too old or too young?"

“It has nothing to do with age, there’s another very important reason.” Shinjo sat down directly in front of the computer desk and skillfully turned on the air conditioner. “This is Tokyo, the safest area in all of Japan. If Tokyo had murders every few days, what would that be like? To put it another way, even if Koshimizu Nanatsuki’s name isn’t as strong as the Heisei Sherlock Holmes, if they really wanted to find a detective, the Metropolitan Police Department would look for Kudo Shinichi, not you.”

“If you can open every day, I think our firm’s income will be quite considerable.” As Koshimizu Nanatsuki spoke, she placed a steaming sandwich in front of Shinjo.

Xincheng shrugged, indicating that he couldn't do it, and then grabbed a sandwich and stuffed it into his mouth.

Looking at the unkempt guy in front of him, Yue Shui couldn't reconcile him with the guy who appeared in the rainy night ten months ago and used the evidence in his hand to slap the police and Tokitsu Junya in the face.

"I'm going out now, remember to help me attract customers. If anything happens, just give me a call, I'll be right back."

"Okay, okay." Tetsuo Shinjo found himself a jacket. "It's getting cold. Be careful not to catch a cold wearing so little."

"Uncle, you should be careful. Sitting in front of the computer all day long, you might die suddenly."

"Can't you expect something good? You have no conscience." Tetsuo Shinjo turned on his computer, opened his email, and checked for any business orders.

Just as he said, this Koshimizu Agency hardly had any business. It was less of a detective agency and more of a place where he and Nanatsuki Koshimizu stayed in Tokyo.

Her usual sources of income are partly her previous earnings and university scholarships, and partly the money Tetsuo Shinjo earns from online freelance work, such as writing programs and drawing illustrations for others.

"Is this a request even humanly possible? What's wrong with these product managers' brains? Have they ever actually used their own products?" Xincheng complained as he filtered out the "unsuitable" business orders.

It wasn't that his skills were lacking, it's just that the offer from the other party was far too meager. If the client were willing to spend more money, he guaranteed to fulfill every requirement put forward by the product manager.

He quickly browsed through most of the emails and sent them to the recycle bin.

After pouring himself a cup of coffee, Shinjo found a recliner and a blanket, then hung up a sign at the office saying "Closed Today," and started slacking off.

As his finger slid down gently, a screen that only he could see appeared in front of him.

"The progress on finding cats and dogs is too slow. It's only increased by 4.2% in three months." Shinjo stroked his chin. "It seems that relying on Koyuki to get cases from the police is a bit unrealistic. We have to get in touch with the Grim Reaper."

He originally wanted to find Hattori Heiji directly and become his assistant.

However, Hattori's father is a high-ranking police officer, and his intelligence is at the pinnacle. If he rashly approaches his son, he will definitely be investigated. Once some things are discovered, it will be difficult for him to stay in Japan.

Furthermore, Hattori himself is the son of both a high-ranking official and a wealthy family; being a detective is merely a hobby for him, and he probably doesn't even care about the income from running a detective agency.

As a second choice, they could only turn to Nanatsuki Koshimizu, who was in trouble at the time. They found the key evidence for her, resolved the police's charges against her friend, and incidentally invited her to open a detective agency.

There aren't many detectives in Detective Conan, and Ms. Koshimizu should be considered one of the few truly talented detectives.

What he hadn't expected was that Nanatsuki Koshimizu's influence extended to the local level. The police in her hometown would contact her, but in Tokyo, she could only take on cases involving lost cats and dogs to make ends meet, which slowed down his mission's progress.

Just then, his phone rang. He answered it casually, "This is the Koshimizu Detective Agency, who is this?"

"Shinjo? I'm Ito, Ito Shozo." The man opposite me laughed heartily. "I didn't expect you to run a detective agency. By the way, why isn't the agency named after you? Is it perhaps named after your wife?"

“That’s my partner’s surname, a college student who’s still in school,” Xincheng said, frowning. “How old am I? How could I possibly do that? What do you want from me?”

The person who called him, Ito Masazo, was his classmate at the police academy and could be considered a friend to some extent.

“I’m getting married in two weeks. Many of my classmates have sacrificed their lives. I don’t have many classmates left, so I hope you can come,” Ito Masashi said hesitantly. “I know you’ve been assigned to go abroad, so if you’re busy with the mission, then…”

"I'll try to get there, but I can't guarantee I'll be on time." Xincheng fiddled with a coin.

"It's good that you can come," Ito said. "If you really can't come, that's okay too."

"By the way, what were you talking about before? Are there any other classmates who run detective agencies like me?"

"That guy Mori, what a pity," Ito sighed. "Ever since he left the police force, he hasn't been doing very well. I heard his detective agency isn't doing much business. He'll be here this time too, why don't you two exchange some experiences?"

“Okay…” Shinjo was smiling, but the smile seemed a little forced.

What are we going to discuss? Are we going to share our experiences on how to turn a detective agency into a bankrupt business?

Chapter 2 Bomb Train Shinkansen

If I remember correctly, at this time, Kogoro Mouri would be taking the Shinkansen to Kyoto for a friend's wedding.

Ran Mouri, Conan, and those three little brats will also be going along.

Gin and Vodka will also make a deal with a target on the Shinkansen, but these two are not sincere. They plan to blow up the other side after getting the money, and also blow up the Shinkansen.

"Next, we need to figure out a way to trick Yue Shui into going to Kyoto. What reason should we use?" As Shinjo spoke, he opened the system screen and clicked on the custom script icon.

The screen in front of him changed, displaying a list of information he needed to fill out.

"As for the time, it would be the day of Ito's wedding, the location would be the Shinkansen, and the people..." Shinjo stroked his chin and said, "The detectives are Conan Edogawa, Kogoro Mouri, and Nanatsuki Koshimizu; the assistant is Tetsuo Shinjo; the villains are Gin and Vodka; and the victim is an unnamed lady X."

"Incident: Vodka and Gin, members of a criminal gang, made an information deal with an unnamed woman, Ms. X, on the Shinkansen. After receiving the money, they planned to blow her up. For some reason, detective assistants Tetsuo Shinjo and Conan Edogawa discovered this and averted the danger."

After you finish filling out the form, a loading icon will appear in the upper right corner of the form.

Looking at the script rating given by the system, Xincheng stroked his chin, thinking, "Why don't I ask Xiaoyue Shui if she has any students who write scripts at her university? Otherwise, with my level of scriptwriting, I'll never have a chance in this lifetime."

While he was thinking, he had already changed his clothes and was preparing to go to the station to buy a ticket.

Kogoro Mouri was heading to the wedding that day. There weren't many trains available to begin with, and he knew that the trains would stop at two stations at 2:30 and 3:10. He could simply check the timetable to find out which train he would take.

Soon, he had the two train tickets in hand, and Xincheng felt a pang of regret.

For ease of movement, he specifically chose two business class seats.

night

"Nothing happened today again?" The first thing Yue Shui asked when she got back was if there were any cases today.

As a former star detective, she was starting to get a little obsessed after a week without any cases coming her way.

"No, I'm going to Kyoto in a few days. Do you want to come with me?" Shinjo asked casually, glancing at the newspaper.

"Kyoto? Why would you go to Kyoto for no reason?" Koshimizu Nanatsuki asked, somewhat puzzled.

"Well, I have a friend at the police academy who's getting married soon and invited me to his wedding in Kyoto." Shinjo stretched. "So..."

"You graduated from police academy? Why have you never mentioned it before?" Yue Shui's tone suddenly rose.

"You didn't ask."

Koshimizu Nanatsuki stared at Shinjo, clearly angry.

“I admit, I withheld some information.” Shinjo scratched the back of his head somewhat awkwardly, “because I was expelled from the police academy.”

"Persuade them to quit?"

"Yes, they were asked to leave because of some disgraceful things."

Koshimizu Nanatsuki opened her mouth, wanting to say something, but didn't know what to say, and finally could only manage to utter—"I'm sorry."

Being expelled from the police academy must mean he did something wrong, and she automatically assumed that this incident was a scar on Xincheng's reputation.

Shinjo looked at Yue Shui's expression, hesitated for a moment, and finally did not tell the truth.

It's true that he was expelled from the police academy. At that time, the criminal organization carried out a major purge of its undercover agents, and many were eliminated. It seems that this was due to a leak of a database from either the FBI or CIA, which exposed the identities of intelligence personnel.
