As they talked, they arrived at the monitored area. At this point, only Bronsky remained as the primary monitored target on the space carrier, so they saw many guards along the way.
They all held weapons with serious expressions, forming layer upon layer of blockade in conjunction with a series of strict access controls.
After passing through the final security checkpoint and being inspected by armed personnel, Coulson and Holm arrived at the device where Bronsky was being held.
Through the large screen in front of them, they could also see the scene inside this specially made alloy cell.
Bronsky was still lying in the specially made alloy "coffin" for him, his whole body was tightly bound and he could not move at all. Even his mouth was sealed, and it would only be opened when he was to be fed liquid food.
Next to this alloy device, the original oversized bottle of potent sedative had been replaced with a pale purple liquid. This pale purple liquid was being slowly injected into his body through a syringe, constantly suppressing the demon within him and preventing him from suddenly transforming.
Chapter 194, Escort
“After you reminded us last time, we immediately went to Dr. Stern’s lab to look for that antidote.”
"The good news is that a lot of those things were left there, and our people brought them all back."
"The bad news is that Dr. Stern has disappeared. Although we have obtained a sample of the antidote, we are unable to replicate it and can only make a weakened version of the reagent."
"Although it's a weakened version, the effect is still effective enough. As long as the injections continue, Bronsky will be unable to turn into that big monster again."
Coulson explained to Holm the pale purple reagents on the screen.
Holm nodded in agreement, then asked curiously, "Dr. Stern wasn't found? Where did he go?"
Holm remembered that in the movie's plot, Dr. Stern seemed to have also been tainted by Banner's blood and underwent some mutation.
However, since the subsequent films did not further develop this part of the plot, Holm did not know what would happen next, nor did he know whether Dr. Stern's disappearance was for the same reason as in the movies.
When Holm asked him about it, Coulson shrugged and said, "Nobody knows right now. He's probably hiding because he's afraid the military or someone else will come after him again."
"Actually, I would say he overestimated his importance. The military is currently busy hunting Banner and studying Bronsky, so they don't have time to bother with him."
Dr. Stern's matter wasn't a big deal for Coulson, so after a brief mention, their conversation returned to Bronsky.
"Alright, the preparations are almost done. Now it's up to you," Coulson said, patting Holm on the shoulder.
While they were chatting, Bronsky, just like when he was first captured, was escorted by a large group of armed men onto a Quinjet fighter jet.
“Then I’ll set off. Don’t worry, I’ll make sure he gets to prison safely.” Holm said, waving his hand. He then called on Rumlow and half of the operatives, and had them board the plane with him, the one carrying Bronsky.
The remaining team members and other personnel were dispersed in four other fighter jets, with the central jet serving as the primary focus for security.
After boarding the fighter jet, Holm first confirmed that all the instruments and facilities were in good working order, and then ordered takeoff, heading towards the pre-set location.
The fighter jets roared into the air and took off, getting further and further away from the space carrier. Holm watched Rumlow and his group with great interest.
These people were staring intently at Bronsky, who was completely bound in the cage, as if they were afraid he would suddenly disappear from their sight.
Holm was deeply moved by their dedication to their work, especially Rumlow. His serious and conscientious demeanor made it impossible to tell that he was a Hydra agent. He was clearly more hardworking and dedicated than the agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.
Rumlow also noticed Holm's expression out of the corner of his eye, but he didn't know the real reason for the subtle smile on Holm's face, and just assumed that it was mocking the tense look on their faces.
Thinking of this, Rumlow couldn't help but feel a little angry, but there was nothing he could do to retaliate. After all, he was just a subordinate and had no right to talk back to a Level 8 agent of S.H.I.E.L.D.
However, given Holm's excellence and outstanding qualities, Rumlow couldn't help but compare him in his mind to another top agent he also considered Viper.
After a moment of wild speculation, Rumlow also concluded that Agent Viper was far more dangerous than Holm, the so-called Shield Blade, after all, he had personally experienced the terrifying aura emanating from Viper.
While Rumlow was lost in thought, Holm also turned his attention to Bronsky.
Although Bronsky was now firmly restrained in the specially made alloy device, he still turned his head to the maximum extent and stared intently at Holm's face, his eyes filled with burning anger and fighting spirit, and even a trace of resentment and indignation.
"Even if you stare your eyes out, you can't hurt me in the slightest. You'd be better off closing your eyes and resting. At least a nap will make the time pass faster," Holm said softly, mocking Bronsky who was staring intently at him.
Bronsky was still unable to make a sound, but Holm could see the changes in his emotions from his eyes. For example, right now, he could tell that Bronsky was swearing very rudely.
Holm's nonchalant attitude toward Bronsky also drew attention from the other operatives. After receiving the mission, they carefully reviewed the information and learned that Bronsky could transform into a ferocious, large monster, and that Holm was the one who would capture this monster.
Thinking of this, the team members immediately straightened their backs and devoted themselves even more attentively to their work.
Holm saw their even more serious expressions but didn't say anything; all he could think about was their actions later.
According to the plan, after the plane lands, they will form a convoy and drive to Cube Prison.
During this process, he would stay in the back of the truck with Bronsky under the pretext of keeping a close watch on him.
The entire journey took about an hour and a half, which is quite ample.
He needs to collect Bronsky's blood during this time, then leave a small clone of venom on him, persuading him to become one of his own.
After reviewing the plan multiple times and confirming that there were no problems, the Quinjet began its descent.
Ten minutes later, they landed on an open area where a convoy of escort vehicles had already been prepared. Once the Quinjet landed, Bronsky and all the mission personnel transferred from the plane to the convoy to begin the final leg of the escort.
When nothing unexpected happens, the whole process is just so boring and monotonous. At most, they change modes of transportation during the mission, and there are no other actions or exchanges.
As the vehicle continued to bounce, the crew members remained vigilant, cautiously observing their surroundings to prevent any unexpected incidents from occurring.
Inside the middle of the truck, Holm stood alone in front of the special device restraining driver Brown, and looked at Brownsky, who was still glaring at him, and smiled, "Want to get out?"
"Being unable to move or speak must have been a difficult time for you."
Upon hearing Holm's words, Bronsky's eyes widened instantly. He stared at him in disbelief, as if wondering if he had misheard.
Chapter 195, After All, I'm Not a Demon
“Don’t be so surprised, I’m not joking with you anymore,” Holm continued with a smile.
"I can give you the power to break free of your shackles and regain your freedom, but in return, you must give me everything you have, and from now on you will belong to me alone."
"If you promise me, you won't have to continue to endure the agonizing prison life in Cube Prison."
“Even if I don’t say it, you should know your own worth. Neither the military nor S.H.I.E.L.D. will let you go.”
"Once you enter Cube Prison, you will be subjected to endless surveillance and all sorts of experiments. You will be treated as a perfect experimental subject to be slaughtered. What they couldn't get from Banner, they will start looking for in you."
"By the way, you might not know this, but the Cube Prison was established specifically to study radiation-related supervillains. People like you and Banner, who have been transformed by gamma rays, are their main targets."
"Thinking about it that way, they should have already prepared various experimental plans for you, and you might have to start working immediately as soon as you go in."
As Bronsky listened to Holm's words, his eyes gradually became uneasy. He knew that Holm was threatening him, but what was frightening was that these threats were all true.
He was anxious to ask something, but the restraint on his mouth prevented him from making a sound.
Seeing his condition, Holm helped him untie the gag from his mouth while reminding him, "I can let you speak, but remember to keep it down. If anyone notices anything amiss, you'll never be free again."
Upon hearing Holm's reminder, Bronsky quickly signaled with his eyes that he understood.
Looking at Holm, they removed the restraints from his mouth, allowing him to speak.
"Who exactly are you?" Bronsky asked Holm. He had initially thought Holm was an agent of S.H.I.E.L.D., but now it seemed that the other party had other hidden identities and his own unique purposes.
Following Bronsky's question, Holm frowned slightly and said, "If that's what you're trying to say, then I don't think we need to talk any further."
As he spoke, Holm reached out to fasten the restraints that had just been removed back onto him.
Seeing this, Bronsky quickly said, "Wait, wait, I won't ask anymore. I just want to know if what you're saying is true?"
“Of course it’s true. Do you think I would deliberately tease you like this or make a joke like this?” Holm continued.
"But you should have heard the same conditions clearly just now. I need you to work for me. From now on, your life will be in my hands. However, as long as you obey and do not interfere with my plans, you can do whatever you want."
Upon hearing Holm's terms again, Bronsky fell silent. Holm's words were very direct, and he had to calm down and think about whether he should accept them.
Is it to be taken to Cube Prison and spend the rest of one's life in imprisonment and experimentation, or to agree to Holm's conditions and become his subordinate and work for him?
Perhaps he could agree to Holm's request first, and then find a chance to escape later. He didn't believe that Holm had any means to control his life; this wasn't some science fiction world.
Seeing the flicker in his eyes, Holm guessed what he was thinking, so he curled up the corners of his mouth and sneered, "What? You want me to release you first, and then figure out a way to escape from my clutches, is that it?"
"You don't think I was joking when I said I could control your life, do you?"
Hearing that Holm had guessed his thoughts, Bronsky pursed his lips, wondering how to explain.
However, while he was pondering, Holm had already reached out and opened his palm to him, showing him the small, sticky, dark venom clone in his hand.
"You can't just agree to my conditions by flipping your lips; you have to eat it."
"After consuming it, you will possess far greater power than before, enough to break free from all constraints and escape from the Cube Prison."
"In return, your soul and life will be in my hands. If you dare to resist or betray me, I only need to think about it and you will die instantly."
"But as I just said, as long as you listen to me obediently, nothing will happen. After all, I'm not a devil. As long as you don't interfere with my plans, you can enjoy your freedom to the fullest extent and do whatever you want."
Distracted by the small ball of venom in Holm's palm and hearing the clearly stated conditions, Bronsky fell into deep thought and struggle.
He certainly recognized these strange little things; the viscous black liquid that sometimes softened and sometimes hardened had left a deep impression on him during their last battle.
So when Holm confidently explained the purpose of the small clump of black, viscous liquid in his palm, Bronsky abandoned his last shred of hope.
Faced with this situation, what choice could he possibly make? It sounded like Holm had presented him with options, but in reality, he had no choice at all.
Needless to say, what a hellish life awaited him after entering the Cube Prison was to come. Just looking at Holm's current state, Bronsky instinctively felt that he wouldn't let him off easily.
He seriously suspected that if he really refused Holm, Holm would not let him off the hook and would definitely force the food into his mouth.
With that thought in mind, Bronsky's previously conflicted thoughts suddenly cleared up, and he silently nodded, saying, "I agree to your terms."
Upon hearing Bronsky's answer, Holm also curled up the corners of his mouth, pinched his chin, and stuffed the Venom clone into his mouth.
"Feel the power that is beginning to surge within you; the Cube Prison can no longer contain you after this."
As Holm spoke, Bronsky fully merged with the Venom clone, his previously weak body now brimming with power, which continued to fill his limbs and bones.
This feeling made him want to break free and embrace freedom right now, but when Holm pointed his index finger at his forehead, he instantly calmed down.
“Now is not the time. Wait until ten days later before you act,” Holm said softly.
Bronsky nodded in agreement. At this moment, he could not only feel the abundant power, but also Holm's control over him.
Seeing that Bronsky had calmed down, Holm put the gag back on him and then took out the blood collection equipment to do an extra task.
I'm not updating today; I feel bad.
In March, I made two updates free because they included a lot of plot from the original novel. However, since the free word count wasn't included, the updates for those two days didn't reach 4,000 words, and I lost my 1500-word attendance bonus, which significantly reduced my living expenses.
I'm heartbroken and can't breathe. I was supposed to have three months of full attendance bonuses after the product was released, but now I only have two months left. I need to take a break and think about what to do.
