The living room floor was littered with corpses, all of them with large gashes on their necks. Thick blood had almost filled the entire living room, and the once expensive carpet had become sticky and mushy after absorbing the blood, while also emitting a distinctive fishy and rusty smell.
In addition to the corpses scattered throughout the living room, there was also a string of words smeared in blood on the living room wall.
"Let your blood console Strucker!"
“Strucker?! How is that possible? The Hydra of Sokovia has arrived?!” Garrett immediately associated the keyword “Strucker” with the Hydra of Sokovia.
However, as far as he knew, the chaotic situation in Sokvia had only just subsided, so how could they possibly send people here and target him?
Moreover, how could Sokovia Hydra possibly have such an ability now, to silently kill all his guards and leave behind such words?
Chapter 211, Showdown
As Garrett's mind raced, trying to figure out what was going on, a voice suddenly came from the shadows in the corner of the living room.
"It's rare to see you so scared and flustered. You're usually so calm and collected."
The sudden sound startled Garrett, but he quickly realized that the voice sounded so familiar.
"Squeak!"
As the door to the lounge opened wider, more lights came out, illuminating the corner from which the sound had just been heard.
As the figure gradually came into focus in the corner, Garrett's eyes widened instantly, and he exclaimed in disbelief, "Horm! It's you?! What are you doing?!"
“What I’m going to do should be obvious. Are you out of your mind?” Holm leaned back on the sofa, looking at Garrett with a sarcastic smirk.
Upon hearing this, Garrett's face darkened, and he looked at Holm, who had a mocking expression, and said in a deep voice, "So you want to kill me? And then frame Hydra in Sokvia for this?"
"See, you know it, don't you? I told you I made it so obvious, how could you not see it?" Holm clapped his hands and laughed.
Hearing Holm's reply and confirming that he was indeed going to do it, Garrett sneered, "In the past, your plan might have succeeded, but now everyone knows the situation in Sokovia, and everyone understands how much strength they have."
"Do you think that if it really was someone from Sokovia who did this, they could have done something like this? If they had that ability, Baron Strucker wouldn't have been killed so easily by you."
Faced with Garrett's calm analysis, Holm looked at him with amusement and said, "Tsk tsk tsk, it seems your information isn't very good either. Don't you know that the situation in Sokovia has changed again?"
"But it's normal that you don't know, after all, even Pierce should have only recently received the report."
The reason he took action today, the last day of his vacation, was because he received a message from William Baker in the morning, informing him that the situation in Sokovia was completely under control.
With the help of Wanda and Pietro, all the spies of Hydra hiding in Sokovia and those who disobeyed Baron Strucker's orders were wiped out without causing a ripple.
Now the entire Sokovia Hydra branch is firmly under the control of William Baker in the name of Baron Strucker, and is no longer a disorganized mess as before.
"I bet that old guy Pierce is furious right now. After all, the Hydra branch in Sokovia is a problem he's been wanting to solve, but instead of solving it, it's gotten worse than before."
Hearing Holm's words, which showed no respect for Pierce and were even full of sarcasm and mockery, Garrett's heart sank.
He hadn't expected Holm to be so well hidden and disguised, nor had he expected Holm to be so extreme.
He thought that Holm would at most try to outmaneuver him on the surface, but he didn't expect that Holm hadn't taken him seriously from the beginning. Holm just made some feints and then flipped the table.
"Actually, I didn't intend to get rid of you so quickly. You could have lived a little longer, but you had to provoke me."
As Holm spoke, he walked toward Garrett. Garrett did not back down, nor did he even raise his gun, because he knew it would be of no use to Holm.
"Heh, your stance is clearly flawed. You simply can't bring yourself to kill that bitch." Garrett sneered contemptuously as he looked at Holm, who had already walked up to him.
"So this is what you're relying on? Kill me and then pin the blame on Sokvia. Do you really think you've covered your tracks perfectly, and that Lord Pierce won't find out anything?"
Knowing he had no hope of survival, Garrett said nothing more, only wanting to mess with Holm's mentality before he died, making him look ugly.
"I have already reported your stance to Lord Pierce, and he is fully aware of the identification mission you issued."
"So you really think you can completely clear yourself of suspicion? Your mission wasn't completed, and instead, I, who issued the mission, am dead? Anyone with a brain can sense that something is wrong, let alone Lord Pierce."
“You can’t hide it at all. It won’t be long before you come to hell to join me. I’ll be waiting for you.” Garrett said with a smirk.
However, even after he finished speaking, the unpleasant look on Holm's face that he had expected did not appear. It was as if Holm had anticipated what he had said.
Holm stared at him with icy eyes, his mocking smile unchanged.
"You're still so confident, my comrade. Even facing death, you haven't changed in the slightest."
Do you think I would care about what you just said? Or would Pierce care?
“The situation in Sokvia has changed repeatedly, seriously threatening his position. He doesn’t have many capable people under him, and I am the most outstanding and useful one.”
"Even if he has ulterior motives regarding your death and my mission, do you think he would cut off his own arm to bring this up and put me on the opposite side?"
“You should know better than I do what Pierce is like. Not only is he unlikely to bring this up himself, but he will also give me a higher position, let me take your place, and then stabilize the situation, making me the sharpest weapon against Sokovia Hydra.”
"He might be thinking of getting rid of me after he's done using me, since you all know my weaknesses."
"Have you ever thought that those weaknesses were deliberately exposed to you by me? I actually don't have any weaknesses at all."
"And he won't even live to see the end of it, because I'll kill him before then and send him to hell to keep you company."
As he listened to Holm's words, Garrett's expression gradually froze.
Seeing his expression, Holm whispered in his ear, "I'll let you in on a secret: Sokovia is now under my control. I deliberately created this whole situation."
"!!!"
Holm's last words completely shattered Garrett's mental defenses; his eyes widened instantly, filled with disbelief.
Chapter 212, Venom's Commentary, Pierce's Fury
Garrett opened his mouth as if to say something, but Holm didn't give him the chance, directly wrapping a tentacle around his mouth, preventing him from making any sound.
"Shh~ Remember to keep this secret for me."
As Holm spoke, a viscous black liquid surged from his body, and in an instant, he transformed into his complete form.
Its narrow, pale eyes radiated an evil, cold gaze; its gaping mouth revealed sharp teeth, and its crimson tongue swung idly around the mouth, coated with sticky saliva.
A hoarse, terrifying sound came from that horrifying maw, like the wailing of a demon from the depths of hell.
"It's your honor to be my little snack, old man," Venom said in a hoarse, unpleasant voice.
After saying that, he opened his mouth wide and bit off Garrett's head in one bite.
"Don't leave any traces," Holm warned Venom.
"Understood." Venom swallowed the head, then opened its mouth wide again and swallowed Garrett whole in a few gulps.
A few seconds later, Garrett had disappeared, turning into pure energy that merged into Venom's body.
"After all, he's getting a bit old. This old guy doesn't taste as sweet as he smells." Venom said as he slowly shrank back into Holm's body, leaving only his head sticking out on his shoulder.
Hearing Venom's assessment, Holm patted its cool head and said, "Then we'll find a few bastards to give you a treat later. Now is the time for those scum to roam."
"Really?! That's wonderful!" Venom immediately became excited upon hearing this.
"Although regular chocolate tastes pretty good, these little snacks are still better, especially the younger ones. They have a sweet and rich flavor and their internal organs are healthier, unlike that old guy who had kidney failure."
"If it weren't for the need to avoid leaving any traces, I wouldn't really want to eat his lungs either; they're all black and dull, even worse than a failing kidney..."
Venom commented on Garrote, whom he had just swallowed, giving different assessments of his various internal organs.
"Stop, stop, stop! We've already finished eating, so don't dwell on it anymore. It's disgusting." Holm quickly stopped Venom from continuing his detailed critique.
He didn't feel anything at first, after all, it wasn't the first time, but listening to Venom's detailed comments, coupled with the images that involuntarily surfaced in his mind, he couldn't help but feel a little nauseous.
Seeing that Holm seemed a little uncomfortable, Venom wisely shut its mouth. After all, there was supposed to be a snack, and it would be a huge loss if Holm canceled the snack because it was too disgusting.
"Phew~ Next, I should send the photos of this place to Pierce. I hope he can act quickly and clean this place up before S.H.I.E.L.D. finds out something is wrong. Otherwise, if S.H.I.E.L.D. notices something is wrong first, we'll be in big trouble."
As Holm muttered to himself, he took a few photos of the scene with Garrett's phone and sent them to Pierce.
"Lord Strucker sends his greetings!"
After sending the final text message to Pierce, Holm put Garrett's phone back on the table.
"Pierce probably won't sleep well tonight. Hopefully, his body can hold up." Holm thought with a wicked grin as he nimbly left the villa, erasing all traces of himself in the process.
Meanwhile, Pierce, dressed in his pajamas and sitting in his study, had no time to pay attention to his ringing cell phone. He was frowning as he spoke to someone on the landline.
"It seems I underestimated this young Baron Strucker. I thought he was just a mascot chosen by those old guys, but it turns out he's a tiger pretending to be a docile cat."
"In just one night, he wiped out all our spies and the old guys' influence. This Baron Strucker is truly remarkable."
Pierce spoke into the microphone with a very grim expression.
The person on the other end of the microphone responded with lingering fear, "This young Baron Trak was very good at hiding his abilities. I never knew he had so much power hidden, including those two very powerful superhumans under his command."
"If it weren't for my men risking their lives to protect me and allowing me to escape by chance, I probably wouldn't have been able to escape the castle, or even send a single message to you."
"Now that things have come to this, should I continue to lie low here?"
Upon hearing the question, Pierce pondered for a moment before replying, "You should hide in Sokvia first. If you leave too, we'll truly become blind and deaf over there."
"I understand. I will carefully remain hidden and await your further instructions," the person on the other end replied without hesitation.
After communicating the situation, Pierce hung up the phone and leaned back in his chair, frowning as he thought.
He never expected the situation to suddenly take such a sharp turn for the worse. According to his plan, once the situation in Sokvia stabilized, the internal power struggle would begin.
In this struggle, he was confident that his men would gain the upper hand and ultimately he successfully controlled Sokovia remotely.
Things were going smoothly until the young Baron Strucker quietly pulled out such a big surprise, ruining all his previous plans and causing him to lose 90% of his manpower.
"Damn it! I should have sent Viper to get rid of this menace sooner!" Pierce thought to himself, a fierce glint in his eyes.
A moment later, he remembered that his phone had just rang a few times, so he picked it up from the table and opened it to look at it.
When Pierce saw that the sender was Garrett, he had a bad feeling, because Garrett usually called him directly and wouldn't do something like sending a message.
Then, when he opened the message and saw the photo and the last sentence, his eyes widened instantly, and an endless anger and sense of humiliation rose in his heart.
"Bang!" He flung the landline phone that was next to him aside, and it fell to the ground and shattered into several pieces.
“Damn it! Damn Strucker!!!” Pierce yelled angrily as he looked at the photo on his phone.
He never imagined that the young Baron Strucker would not only clean up Sokvia's side, but also extend his reach to him, eliminating his capable subordinate and sending the news to his phone.
How could he not feel humiliated! Not angry!
Chapter 213, Vacation Ends, Pierce's Summoning
"Ah, what a sunny day." Holm sat at the dining table, sipping his milk and gazing at the bright sunshine outside.
