Who would have thought that the barren "circles" in the vegetable garden were actually caused by gaps in the irrigation sprinklers, resulting in some vegetables not receiving water and withering.
The first part of the comic is full of suspense, and she keeps thinking about what caused this.
Are these crop circles created by aliens? Or are they a tactic used by farm owners to attract attention?
It turned out to be so simple and reasonable.
It's truly both laughable and absurd.
"Teacher Yamamura is very talented; it would be better if he weren't so 'abnormal.'"
With that thought in mind, Minami Chiharu started reading short stories about mountain villages.
The name is "Basketball Babes".
……
“I see,” Higashino nodded. “No wonder he needed my authorization.”
The manga "Mountain Village" depicts the process of how he and Kikuchi Hidemi fell in love.
Therefore, "Slam Dunk" is indispensable.
"He actually wrote his love story into a comic."
During the New Year's party, Hibiki Higashino saw that Yamamura admired Yoshihiro Togashi, and unexpectedly, he followed suit.
"It's a really good drawing," Akemi Akemi said, covering her mouth and giggling. "They seem very happy."
Overall, this short story is very heartwarming. It depicts just a small thing, but you can feel the author's care in every frame of the comic.
Like a love letter, it carries sincerity and a heartfelt expression.
Meanwhile, in Yamamura Morimichi's studio, decorated with roses and balloons, Yamamura Morimichi proposed to Kikuchi Hidemi, and Kikuchi Hidemi accepted.
By Friday, the number of reader surveys for "Basketball Babes" was 135.
“The results were poor, but I think Yamamura doesn’t care about that; he’s already achieved his goal,” Higashino Hibiki said.
……
The second short story comes from Nobuhiro Watsuki and is titled "Comet Impact".
The protagonist is a thirteen or fourteen-year-old boy with a special physique who can be hit by meteorites in a modern science fiction story.
There's not much to say about this short story; Hibiki Higashino just skimmed through it.
It was a work that I drew in my spare time amidst my busy schedule, but it is still quite exquisite.
It's a normal type.
On Friday, "Comet Impact" received 353 votes, which was a very good result.
Based on past competition practices, he is a strong contender for the top three.
……
The third and fourth pieces were both very ordinary works, with around two hundred votes each, and were not worth Higashino Hibiki's attention.
A month after the short comic contest began, truly challenging entries emerged.
This is Hirohiko Araki's "Confession Room".
At this moment, Hirohiko Araki stood at the window with a smile on his face, looking into the distance.
"I originally planned to publish this work in the second half of last year, but after hearing about the short story competition, I decided to enter 'Confession Room' into this competition."
"In other words, I spent a long time conceiving this short story, and it is one of my proudest works."
"Tori Akino-kun, why don't you give it a try and see if you can surpass my 'Confession Room'?"
He raised the milk cup, offered a toast to the distant view, elegantly brought it to his lips, and took a small sip.
"Teacher, you've been resting for too long! Get back to work!" Assistant Hirohisa Onikubo shouted.
"Excuse me, I'm here," Araki said awkwardly.
……
"That's really unexpected."
Slam Dunk skipped the match between Shohoku and Takezato in one chapter, focusing instead on the match between Hainan and Ryonan.
"Coach Takato and Coach Taoka are old rivals."
"Coach Taoka calls himself Sendoh, and Takato is Rukawa Kaede; that's the kind of relationship they have."
"Hahaha, you can tell something's wrong just by looking at their faces. They're so ugly, yet they think they're Sendoh and Rukawa. They have no self-awareness at all."
However, because of this, the two teams were already sparking a fierce battle right from the start.
Hainan needs to maintain its winning streak, while Ryonan aims for the national tournament and must defeat Hainan.
The two teams were locked in a fierce battle, coming up with numerous strategies right from the start.
"Sendoh is playing point guard now!"
The point guards in Kanagawa are all top-notch.
Ryota Miyagi of Shohoku, Kenji Fujima of Shoyo, Shinichi Maki of Kainan, and now Sendoh is also the point guard for Ryonan.
It was like gods fighting.
"Is this a plan that Taoka came up with to defend against Maki Shinichi?" Araki thought, looking at the manga.
"But if you do that, Sendoh is abandoning his strengths and using the unfamiliar point guard position to defend Maki Shinichi. Isn't that using his weakness to attack the opponent's strength? It seems like a foolish move."
However, in later chapters of the manga, Sendoh's 190cm height allowed him to have a comprehensive view of the situation. Coupled with his powerful passing ability and control of the game, he essentially connected the entire Ryonan team, organizing a powerful and effective offense.
"That's terrifying. A team like that."
After ten minutes of play, Coach Gao Tou called a timeout.
Now, Hainan is 11 points behind.
"The situation was one-sided. I never expected that Ryonan would be so fierce in the face of the powerful Hainan."
Araki initially thought the match would be a foregone conclusion, but now it has become interesting and intense.
"How terrifying, Akino Mirai."
……
"How terrifying, Araki-sensei."
Higashino Hibiki stared wide-eyed at the short comic strip in front of him.
"Could a work like 'Confession Room' be conceived so quickly?"
For a mere short story competition, to produce such an interesting comic felt like using a cannon to kill a mosquito.
"A thrilling adventure story featuring Rohan Kishibe, a supporting character from JoJo's Bizarre Adventure Part 4: Diamond Is Unbreakable."
The story begins in a confessional at a church in Venice.
Rohan Kishibe sneaked into the confessional room to gather material for his manga.
At that very moment, the person with intense inner turmoil came to repent.
He claimed to be a deeply sinful person.
Rohan on the shore was not alarmed; instead, he became quite interested.
The visitor began to tell his story; he was a porter who worked very hard every day.
One day while he was working, a ragged, emaciated homeless man came and asked him for some food, claiming that he hadn't eaten for five days.
The thought that he had to work hard while the other person could live by begging filled him with uncontrollable anger.
So he placed large bags of food on the homeless man, promising to give him food if he worked hard.
As he ate his bread heartily, he watched the homeless man struggle to get to work.
The other person was crushed by the full bags of grain, and he thought it was an act to gain sympathy, so he was filled with anger.
Just then, someone grabbed his leg from under his feet!
Its eyes were bloodshot, and its mouth was full of fangs; it looked like a demon.
It's that homeless man!
The homeless man cursed:
"I am trapped in a despair deeper than the darkest seas, a despair born from you! I will never forget, never forget your true face! I will make you pay this debt! I will return!"
"When you are at your happiest, you will definitely...! Remember that!"
The homeless man died.
Afterwards, those who came to repent experienced a series of good fortunes.
He quickly became a wealthy man and had a beautiful wife and a lovely daughter.
This was the happiest moment of his life.
But at that moment, his daughter grabbed his neck, her hair flying in the wind as if it had come alive.
The daughter stuck out her tongue, and on it were the homeless man's facial features; he had come for revenge!
He possessed his daughter's body.
Just like the curse of yesteryear.
Will fate allow him to take revenge? The homeless man chooses to play a game.
The homeless man throws popcorn high into the air, past the streetlights in the square, and catches it in his mouth as it falls. He does this three times. If he fails even once, the homeless man kills him and chops off his head.
The first time he tossed it up, the sun was so bright that the popcorn disappeared from his sight.
Fortunately, his tongue was nimble; it caught the popcorn that had hit the corner of his mouth and he swallowed it.
First attempt was successful.
The second time he was tossed up, the clouds blocked the sun, and he was finally free from the sunlight.
But as the popcorn fell, the pigeons in the square swarmed over, and danger struck once again.
He had a sudden inspiration, tore open the whole bag of popcorn and scattered it on the ground, finally making the pigeons abandon the one he had thrown up.
