“I have always believed in Blue-Eyes White Dragon, just as you have believed in Armored Dragon. If that’s the case, the outcome of this duel might be different.”

"Youche, now I finally understand."

"The heart of a card is the card that unconditionally trusts itself; only then will the card respond."

As he spoke, Seto Kaiba couldn't help but recall some of his childhood memories.

At that time, the Blue-Eyes White Dragon was the emotional link between him and his younger brother, Kaiba Keihei, and his only hope for surviving under the clutches of evil.

I don't know when it started, but he began to use these already significant cards as tools for duels...

At this moment, Seto Kaiba finally understood everything, but what awaited him was the fate of being sealed into a card.

Pegasus raised his arm, his fingers slightly spread, and the chaotic vortex began to pull and tug.

Seto Kaiba's expression changed drastically as he felt the pain in his soul, but he still forced himself to say his last words: "Yusho... it may be too late, but I desperately hope... to duel you again after understanding the heart of the cards!"

Seto Kaiba gritted his teeth, the light in his eyes gradually fading. In the last moments of his remaining consciousness, he mustered all his strength to swing a card at Yuzuriha and shouted, "Yuzuriha!"

"Defeat Pegasus! Just so that your Heart Card will not be defiled! You must! You absolutely must! Defeat him!"

"I've studied his deck, and this card might be the key to defeating him!"

Pegasus frowned, and his five fingers suddenly clenched into a fist.

Seto Kaiba repeated the last few words over and over in an almost screaming tone, finally collapsing to his knees like a puppet:

"Kingdom! Kingdom!! Kingdom..."

"Defeat him!"

"Hands-on..."

Shocked by what he saw, Yuzuru slowly picked up the card that Seto Kaiba had given him.

Under the bright lights of the palace, the brand-new cards gleamed.

That was a monster card—Horus the Black Dragon.

Author's Note on the Launch of Chapter 80

I haven't written a book in about a year, and I never expected it to have reached such a competitive level, hahaha!

In the past, Sanjiang would have had a chance with this result, but now it's much worse.

So after I've finished recommending what to eat, this book will be available for purchase.

If Duel Kingdom's pace were a bit faster, it might have been much better. However, I can accept the current results. After all, launching the game is just the beginning; the real test is yet to come.

This book, even now, is still quite controversial.

Duel Kingdom itself has a polarized storyline, so it really depends on whether you can connect with the characters.

But why would I take the risk of starting from Duel Kingdom? It's mainly for the following reasons.

In terms of the progression of the Duel Era, Duel Kingdom is separate from the later Ten Kingdoms, but it is a crucial part in terms of character development and relationship building.

In my personal opinion, Yu-Gi-Oh! fan fiction can be roughly divided into two types: one is where the plot serves the duel, and the plot is built for a certain exciting or funny scene; the other is where the duel serves the plot, and there are some compromises in the rigor of the duel's structure.

From the very beginning, I wanted to write a book that was more faithful to the original work, so I was more inclined to write the latter.

Since the plot has become the main focus, starting directly from Duel City would not only raise the reading threshold but also make the original characters seem somewhat instrumental.

Besides that, another reason I insist on writing about Duel Kingdom is that I am more comfortable writing this part and can write more articles about it.

In my plan, if this book performs as expected when it is completed, then I will start an original card game novel.

If my longtime readers have read my Duel Kingdom, they might recognize my ability to create original card games to some extent. This would give me a foundation of fans when I start a new book, which is quite crucial for fan fiction authors transitioning to a new field.

Of course, that's a story for another time!

Let's get back to the book.

During the new book period, many readers have found updating difficult and wish they could finish writing an entire duel every day.

In terms of ability, I am basically capable of doing it, but the duels in this book are often not just about playing cards; they also involve some plot elements.

A single duel can easily exceed ten thousand words. If a new book is updated at this pace, it is actually very dangerous, because it is necessary to ensure enough time to attract readers.

So it's not that we're being lazy or deliberately trying to annoy everyone, but rather that this is the industry standard, and we're not experts, so we can't be that capricious.

But things will be better starting tomorrow. I will start with 10,000 words a day as promised, and try to make it less painful for everyone to follow the updates.

The book will be available for purchase at midnight on June 1st. I'll post one chapter then, and the rest of the updates will have to wait until I wake up (please forgive me! I'm not a full-time author, and ensuring the update frequency is already my limit; ensuring the update schedule is just too difficult!).

I don't really care much about the initial subscription, but I still hope everyone will subscribe to the first chapter for VIP to show their support.

After it's published, each chapter will be 4,000 words.

Qidian has always charged based on word count, so there's no such thing as "Ah! Why is your book more expensive than others!" Haha.

That's roughly the situation.

Since we didn't make it to Sanjiang, we can only pursue other goals, such as: collecting 1,000 monthly tickets for the lottery, or getting it listed as a featured post, etc... We've never experienced these things before, so we definitely want to try our best.

In short, I hope everyone will support my new book now that it's available!

I will try my best to update and make everyone happy!

We also welcome all brothers to actively offer their opinions and suggestions!

Finally, thank you to editor Lu Ming! He's truly a workaholic in the industry, both diligent and responsible!

Thank you everyone for your continued support!!

See you in the finals!!

Chapter 81 The Belief to Defeat Pegasus

"Boom, bang..."

After his soul was taken by the Millennium Treasure, the tall Seto Kaiba knelt heavily on the ground, his whole body limp, and his once sharp eyes became empty and dull.

Pegasus, a satisfied smile on his face, looked at the cards in his hand.

Just seconds ago, this was a blank card; but now, it shows Seto Kaiba's face as he struggles in his final moments.

Stepping onto the dueling platform, Pegasus first gently placed Seto Kaiba's deck into the inside pocket of his suit jacket, then chuckled in a mocking tone:

"There's no other way~ I'll just have to keep Kaiba Boy's deck."

"At the last moment, he used all his strength to tell you everything he knew."

"But, Youcha Boy, you already knew everything, didn't you?"

"Looking at it this way, Seahorse Boy is truly pitiful and pathetic~"

With a furrowed brow, Yu Che placed the Horus Black Flame Dragon, which carried Seto Kaiba's will, into his deck, then looked up and coldly met Pegasus's gaze.

The Thousand-Year Eye can detect not memories, but thoughts in one's heart.

When Seto Kaiba said those words, Yuzuru naturally thought of Pegasus's Toon deck, and the key to the Toon deck—Toon Kingdom.

All Toon Monsters rely on the Spell Card – Toon Kingdom. If Pegasus can be prevented from activating that Continuous Spell Card, he will be at a huge disadvantage.

As a card capable of sealing magic cards, Horus Black Dragon might be able to limit Pegasus's tactics. However, it's likely that Seto Kaiba's decision to hand over this card at the last moment indicates his intention to rely solely on the power of Blue-Eyes White Dragon from now on.

Pegasus continued to chuckle mockingly, "You playboy~ who exactly are you? Why do you possess such extraordinary cards, and know things that ordinary people could never possibly know? I'm truly curious~"

You Che was not swayed by his words.

From the very first day he transmigrated here, he had already anticipated that he would one day have to face this guy.

Pegasus said these words in the hope that Youche's subconscious would reveal the answer he wanted to know.

Before he could finish speaking, You Che interrupted, "You really enjoy reading other people's minds, don't you? Then tell me, what I'm thinking right now, is it a memory or a figment of my imagination?"

"Oh?" Pegasus chuckled dismissively, activating his Millennium Eye ability once more to probe the mind.

But when he saw the scene in You Che's mind, his previously smug face turned ashen and ashen.

"What?!" Pagasosh was immediately shocked and broke out in a cold sweat.

He saw a scene in Youche's inner world: in the castle of the Duel Kingdom, a white-haired demon was smiling sinisterly, and at his feet, a man in a suit and leather shoes lay in a pool of blood, his eyes gouged out in an extremely brutal way!

And that man was himself!

Pegasus, who was adept at using the Millennium Eye, could easily distinguish whether what people were thinking was a recurring memory or a temporary imagination, because most people's imagined scenes were very vague.

But the scene that You Che had just witnessed was incredibly clear in his mind, as if he had seen it with his own eyes!

Do not! !

How can this be? !

That must be something imagined out of thin air!

but……

Why is that scene as clear as my memory?!

Pegasus could not believe it, but he was gradually sinking into fear.

This very evening, he saw the demon that Yugi had imagined in his mind—he had white hair and seemed gentle and cute as he followed Yugi and his group, but the Millennium Wisdom Ring on his chest was enough to show that this guy was not simple!

“You Che…who exactly are you!” Pegasus’s expression turned solemn and cold.

If what just happened was real, how did Youche know it?

You Che smiled slightly and simply said, "You should think about what you're going to do next. That person is in the castle right now, isn't that right?"

"Tsk!" Pegasus sneered, "Heh, although I don't know your true identity, based on what I just saw, I can take precautions!"

"The entire castle is filled with my subordinates. Even if someone were to launch an attack, the one who ends up lying in a pool of blood will definitely not be me!"

"You rascal, it's pointless for you to hide now!"

"I will defeat you in a dark duel before this tournament officially ends!"

"And as the price of defeat, you and your elf will become my puppets! At that time, no matter how many secrets you hold in your heart, I will dig them out one by one!!"

Yu Che put away his deck on the dueling platform and replied, "Then let's give it a try, Pegasus."

"I don't care about other things."
