A commotion arose once more among the unseen children. They quickly grasped Lyle's meaning: the divine child, the deceiver, had incited them to blaspheme! To fabricate meaningless names and subvert the dignity of the Father God. So unforgivable, so wicked! Truly worthy of being the divine child, he effortlessly accomplished what we dared not even dream of.
“This is fraud, you servants.”
The invisible children were surprised once again. The deceivers taught them how to deceive, and this was the gift the divine child had given them, granting them the qualification to deceive with the divine child.
【I understand, sir. So my BOSS identity is that of a servant of the divine child!】 This is a character setting that lacks any imagination, but considering the empty mind of the Child of No Form, Lyle gave it a passing grade.
I am also a servant of the Son of God!
"Originality! Do you understand? Originality! Those players will only remember the first special BOSS. If you don't want to be eliminated, you have to innovate!"
"Then...then I am the servant of the servant of the Son of God."
"No! You're getting weaker and weaker! Where's your backbone? Are you willing to be a nobody? How can you let your own kind ride on your head! If it can be a servant, then you must be bigger than it! You must be its father!"
【I see!】
"Hmm!" Lyle nodded in satisfaction.
"Then I will be the father of the divine child!"
"?"
The taboo against blasphemy excites the invisible child even more. With their bottom line crossed, the invisible child's evil intentions continue to expand.
"Then I am the goddess's grandfather!"
I am the grandfather of the Divine Child's grandfather!
【I am the ancestor of the Divine Child!!!】
【I!!! I am the evil god!!!】 The Formless Ones gasped in unison, their inner worship crumbling as Lyle shattered the last vestige of the Chaos Being's true nature.
[I am the Devourer of the Wings of Betrayal of the Sleepers!!!]
【I'm your grandpa!!!】
The debate over seniority has come to an end, and the invisible children who oppressed each other have not yet determined a winner. Now they face an even greater problem.
What do those lowly elf players like? What kind of characters are considered cool and stylish? Blind vanity did not broaden the horizons of these servants of the gods; they were once again perplexed and turned to the truly great beings for help.
Lyle chuckled and took something out of his pocket—a dark, angular, sharp stone. On its dark surface, one could see some blurry images: twisted human figures and blinding light.
"These are the learning materials I'm giving you. Don't damage my Dark Soul Stone. These memories are very valuable knowledge."
The tentacles of the invisible child carefully received the Dark Soul Stone, obeying the divine child's instructions without question.
What is sealed inside? Why is it worthy of being a divine child's collection?
Lyle's smile was dark and sinister; every opening and closing of his teeth seemed to be spraying pleasurable poison gas.
"The most tragic illusory memories of a group of dark and depraved people belonging to the literary society."
Chapter 737 The Current Status of Players
A month later.
Elder Druid Dorudo Moonscar stood outside his door, just like countless mornings he had experienced before. Sunlight lingered on the treetops, the magical energy of nature washing over his face. Dew clung to his unkempt, curly beard, bringing a long-lost tranquility to his somewhat restless heart. Since becoming a Berserker in the Dream Realm, Dorudo had inevitably been affected in his real life. The weakness brought on by his frail body led the experienced Berserker to subconsciously train his physique, which was perfectly normal in the eyes of the elves. His beloved Frannell jokingly referred to his recent changes as "a second puberty," and Dorudo was grateful for Frannell's understanding. She had always smiled, accepting his increasingly impatient self—a change that even Dorudo himself could feel.
His life had changed slightly. Dorothy glanced at the tree stump outdoor table in the yard, where Frannell had once sat for hours trying to clean her increasingly thick mane that was turning into a lion's mane. Finally, she gave up, admitting it was the most difficult pile of weeds she had ever dealt with, and then patiently wove a few sunflowers into Dorothy's braids.
[Darling, you're as big and strong as a wild beast now.]
Dorothy spent two minutes analyzing her lover's tone at the time and breathed a sigh of relief that her marriage hadn't deteriorated. The Dream Elf had changed during this time, but some habits remained. Every morning, the residents of the Dream Forest would still emerge from their treehouses to enjoy nature in the morning light, dew, and shade.
"Crouch down." The commanding voice came from behind. Dorodo obediently crouched down, a dark green robe covering his rock-like muscles. Frannell's moving hand touched him lightly like a breeze. When she appeared in Dorodo's field of vision, she winked playfully. "When you get a little bigger, I'll have to prepare a giant-sized elder's robe for the Harvest Festival." It was a joke; Dorodo knew very well that he was currently at most a grizzly bear size.
“Remember to replant the trees you cut down. We already have enough outdoor tables and chairs…” Frannell raised an eyebrow, her reproachful expression making the berserker feel guilty. “I don’t want to explain to the new neighbors that my husband is a druid and not a lumberjack, understand?”
"Okay, I'll visit Charles's house next time."
Frannell's expression turned strange, but Dordo could still discern a smile. She was adjusting the buttons on the druidic elder's robe, a pastime she considered a way to strengthen the bond between husband and wife.
"Fanila has sent a letter."
Duoluduo racked her brains and remembered that she had a rebellious daughter.
"Is she not planning to come back? Hines has already gone home."
Frannell's attention shifted to the leather buttons.
"Our little darling found her lover, a human, in that magical city."
Duo Lu pondered for a moment.
"What's wrong with that? Is she worried I'll object to them being together? I'm an enlightened father. I advocate for free love. Fanila is grown up; she has the ability to choose her own future, if she can bear the thought of that human aging and dying earlier. Darling, why are you looking at me like that? I'm quite democratic and open-minded!"
Frannell laughed, leaning forward and resting her entire body against Dorudo's chest. She mischievously brought her close to the ragester's nose, and the look in her eyes reminded Dorudo of his own daughter's mischievous behavior when she was little.
"That's great, darling, because the human that Fanila likes seems to have a demon girlfriend."
"Where's my Berserker Axe?" The irritable old father broke down on the spot, like an angry lion surveying its territory, with his elven wife hanging around his neck, her melodious laughter like a wind chime.
"Here you go." The dutiful wife placed the weapon in Dorodo's hand. He looked at it closely, his expression strange.
"Darling, why did you give me a broken stick?" The stick that disappointed the berserker was not broken at all; at the top, where vines intertwined, was a beautiful jade stone.
"What kind of broken wooden stick is this? You don't even recognize your own druid staff? Today there's a council meeting between Queen Tiffany and the Elder Council. Mr. Moonscar, are you really going to disguise yourself as a woodcutter and enter the meeting?"
"Oh no! I completely forgot, darling."
The Mooncrown Council is an annual elven council held in August, gathering in a vast banyan forest nurtured by druid elders. Each participant must spend time and effort exploring the intricate root system. Because the meeting place changes each year, only skilled druids can discern the unique markings left on the roots.
Dorudo still brought his beloved little axe. "Little" is relative; the roughly polished stone axe was about the size of a millstone, yet it moved with effortless ease in the berserker's hands. The druid's staff was far too light for Dorudo's current strength. He held it in his palm as if it were a large toothpick. He dared not exert any force, fearing he would crush it.
Reassuringly, he wasn't the only dream elf in this predicament. His friend Charles stood by the entrance to the council chamber, clad in a greenish-blue stone armor, resembling a giant, upright green turtle. He recognized the rough workmanship; the dream elf race originally had no stonemasons, and this turtle-shell armor and his own stone axe were both rudimentary creations of this earth-wielding defender. Eisena stood beside Charles, dressed normally in druidic robes, offering him words of comfort, though her fingertips glowed faintly.
His friends greeted him, and Essen then turned to Dortmund for help.
"Please try to persuade him; he just won't take off these rough stone shells."
"Armor deficiency phobia?" Dorodo recalled the term that had become popular among students.
The Priestess of Moonlight sighed. "Let's assume that for now. I don't believe all Defender players are as badly injured as him. This is the Mooncrown Council. I don't want the most respected elders of the Dream Elves to find out that War Druid General Chalis has turned into a stone ball, especially when I'm standing next to him."
Charles Nightingale began to defend himself.
“You don’t understand, Eisena! I can’t take off this armor! Without it, I feel so light. I’ve never felt gravity so weak. Without it, I’d fly into the sky!”
"It's alright, I'll hold your hand tightly. If you fly up to the sky, I'll pull you along like a balloon." The Moon Priestess realized that the men around her were all fools. She didn't need to explain the wonders of nature to them; she could just coax them.
"That won't do. You're just a flimsy, weak priest. You can't hold me. Dorudo, you've come at the perfect time. You're strong, so hold me tight and don't let me fly away!"
The Priestess of the Moon felt she must have been blind before, now her mind was filled with nothing but how to launch this idiot to the moon. Not wanting to rack her brains any longer, Essenar reached out to Dordo for help.
Duoluduo suddenly realized what was happening and quickly approached.
"Thank you, Essenar."
The Priestess of the Moon looked at the emerald staff in her hand and fell silent.
Chapter 738 The Queen in Action
Having finished their miscellaneous tasks, the three elders entered the council chamber. Twisted vines, guided by the druids, formed seating areas for resting. Lush plants were blooming inside, and those responsible for setting up the council arranged newly grown furniture. The Mooncrown Council, not a council meeting at night, actually derives its name from the Moonflower—a pale blue flower that glows in the dark. This flower is favored by dryads, who like to adorn formal and important occasions with it. Druids of nature aren't exclusive to elves; dryads, forest sprites, and various ancient trees that have developed sentience arrived early in the council chamber, greeting their familiar elven friends.
"Hey, Dorudo, you've gotten cuter." Mr. Berserker felt a gentle pat on the back of a leaf. Turning around, he saw a huge thing growing from the roots of the banyan tree that served as the wall of the council chamber. In a short time, it had sprouted, grown, and become lush and leafy. A four-meter-tall twisted tree pulled its roots out of the banyan tree, stretched its newly grown limbs, and looked at the twice-sized Dorudo with the face outlined by the wrinkles of its bark.
“Ent, you haven’t changed at all… Is one of your branches missing?” Dorodo stared at the gap in the canopy. He remembered that a year ago Ent had been showing off the three flower buds on that “proud” branch.
“I planted my ‘pride’ in a fertile, sunny spot. A hundred years from now, it will grow into a lovely little thing.” The twisted tree took root beside Dorudo, and the ancient tree, now firmly anchored, showed a satisfied expression. “My elven friend, your kind has changed so much. I can always hear your voices from your underground roots.”
Dorudo paid no heed to Ent's astonishment. The ancient trees' concept of time was the most unusual among the long-lived species; their time was measured in centuries. To them, almost any group they encountered was changing rapidly. Tree spirits were adept at adapting to change, which was why they always appeared calm and leisurely. Dorudo was well aware of how much the dream spirits had changed recently, and these ancient nature spirits had clearly heard the rumors. Eisena was chatting with the tree spirits, while Charles was already entangled with the forest spirits. They were all present at this council meeting; they loved a good show, and this one would be quite lively.
One by one, the druid colleagues from the Elder Council entered. They didn't stay properly in their druid robes; instead, they wore hunting bows, hoods, and small round shields. To the surprised and delighted looks of the other friendly races, the council session resembled a masquerade ball. The commotion was quickly quelled, and then the noble guards of the Queen's faction and the Elven Queen Tiffany entered.
All the druids bowed before the new generation of the Light of Nature, and the Ancient Tree of Life, the high priest, wove the Queen's small cradle throne with its vines and moonflowers. After Tiffany took her seat, the council officially began.
What's noteworthy is the absence of the Green Dragon Priestess Irason and the Archon Susanna. They should have been present as representatives, serving as the spiritual leaders of the Dream Elves to legitimize Tiffany's status as heir. With both absent, it's clear the two mothers cannot possibly rebel, and the outcome is obvious.
Dorodo lowered his head, trying to stay at the same height as the other elves. The other two were avoiding suspicion, meaning this council meeting was mainly about the dream game promoted by a few of them. Lately, there had been frequent rumors of dream elf players going mad, dreaming of fast and slow attacks. Dorodo's heart sank. Could it be that Queen Tiffany was going to bring up something like "sleepwalking is a curse" or "sleepwalkers are potential criminals" today? Then the question arose: if the Queen wanted to ban the game, should Mr. Dorodo switch allegiance to the Withered One's brother-in-law?
"Gentlemen, the main topic of this council meeting is related to the Dream Game. Some of my subjects have complained to me about issues related to the players. This year's food income and magical research have not met the planned standards. Members of the Druid Elder Council, can you give me a reasonable explanation?"
The Queen's questioning silenced the council, especially on the Dordo side. The Druid Elders, direct descendants of Archon Susanna, were the most dedicated to the Dream Game. As researchers of druids and the kingdom's main producers, expecting them to perform well in research and production during the day while they were being slaughtered by the BOSS at night was, frankly, a bit of a stretch. Even more ridiculous was that these druids were among the most accomplished masters of the Way of Nature, yet none of them chose druid when selecting their profession. They all switched to trying out new classes. After a month of swordplay, it's hard to say how many would still be capable of handling the demanding work of a druid.
It's not that no one is aware of this problem, but rather that they choose to ignore it. After all, the game is genuinely fun, and while it may be challenging, it's undeniably enjoyable.
The direction the issue was taking was crystal clear to anyone with eyes to see. Both the Queen's faction and the Elder Council were bowing their heads. Normally, after such a major blunder by the Elder Council, the Queen's faction would have been able to take a piece of their flesh. But this time, Kylo Siren was like a dead man. The fact that the Queen's Eye Guard, following Tiffany's orders, infiltrated the Dream Game to gather intelligence, but became so engrossed in their infiltration and ambushes that they became player killers and head-reaping machines, was something the assassin team would never admit to causing.
Tiffany glanced around; all the dream elves lowered their heads, while the tree spirits, forest elves, and other nature spirits looked on with curiosity. The Elf Queen rubbed her head and sighed; the sigh was like a cold wind sweeping through the council chamber, sending chills down the spines of the dream elves.
"Then, in the name of the leader of the Dream Elves, the Queen of the Elves, I decide..."
"Your Majesty, wait!"
"Your Majesty, please forgive my overstepping..."
Kylo Ren and Charles Nightingale were pushed forward, glaring at each other fiercely before turning to Tiffany with embarrassed expressions.
"The Dream Game is a large-scale dream world created by two druid leaders. Naturally, it possesses mysteries beyond our comprehension, which we have experienced firsthand. It does indeed have immense appeal and the ability to transform our race. Therefore, Your Majesty, I believe that prohibiting access to the Dream Game is a form of isolationism. We can find more ways out within this dream world. Throwing the baby out with the bathwater is not an advisable act."
“He’s right, my queen.” Kylo bowed, placing his hand on his chest. “The problem isn’t the dream game itself, but those who choose the wrong path to enter the dream. A complete ban would only provoke a backlash from the players. Rather than banning it, I suggest controlling the game time of these derelict individuals—that is, limiting dream play or using a reward and punishment system. All underage elves must have time limits set, while adult workers should earn game time through their work! This would also motivate their enthusiasm for work, achieving a balance between work and play.”
No sooner had Kylo Shiren finished speaking than the Elder Council Druids wanted to devour this troublemaker alive. The most significant difference between the Queen's faction and the Elder Council was their direct leadership. Susanna, as the ruthless Archon, would set clear, stringent standards for all Druids, pushing them to their absolute limits. But the Queen's faction—who exactly was its leader—wasn't even clear yet. To put it bluntly, this bastard Kylo had delayed the Elder Council's game time without suffering any loss himself.
Tiffany nodded. “Your suggestion is quite interesting. Then please set an example and implement it well. To ensure fairness, I will ask Godmother Susanna to tailor-make matching indicators for your guard. You and everyone in the Elder Council will work together to maintain a positive and harmonious dream game atmosphere.”
Kylo stood silently, the druids' cold laughter echoing behind him. They reaped what they sowed; limiting game time together was a worthwhile trade.
Tiffany, who was sitting upright, suddenly chuckled and playfully revealed her original intention.
"I never intended to ban dream games. Putting aside the pressure from my mother and godmother, I've spoken with the administrator, Mr. Lyle, and he's a staunch supporter of dream games. I originally only planned to use this meeting to give you a warning, to stop you from getting carried away with your playfulness. But since you're so well-prepared, well, I'm a monarch who's happy to accept advice, my subjects, haha!"
Players looked at Tiffany with complex expressions. The excellent inheritance from her bloodline made them subconsciously define Her Majesty the Queen as harmless. However, beneath that sweet and charming exterior lay the dark heart of a high-ranking person educated by the governor.
This is a huge loss.
