A black hole is like a powerful monster, capturing a glowing moth.
Andre escaped unharmed.
Law glanced at the members of the Advanced Magic Research Society standing beside the Dean and breathed a sigh of relief. The three members of the Necromancer's Figurine Club stood beside him, staring at the undeniable void in the air like the other liches watching the spectacle.
"Mr. Delusional and that necromancer will be fine. Although they are currently under the control of Professor Death Star's magic and are getting closer and closer to that dangerous thing, I have observed Professor Death Star's lectures. The collapse process of a normalized black hole will end quickly. He is careful, and the constantly weakening gravity will eventually allow him to escape."
Law found that his explanation hadn't offered much comfort to the three members of the Necromancer Figure Club. They exchanged glances, their worries deepening. Law lamented whether his credibility had declined, and was also somewhat surprised that the three guys from the figure club were so compassionate; he used to think of them as a replica of the Three Musketeers of Literature.
Have we wronged them?
"He'll definitely use that..."
"Unable to escape in a short time, and thinking there's no hope of resistance, he'll definitely use that..."
"hiss……"
The lich exhaled a deep breath, releasing damp, cold shards of ice. Law watched the three of them panting heavily, and his initial sense of peace began to waver.
What is this 'that' you're talking about?
Shining and the others glanced at the law, hesitated for a moment, and then looked up again at the struggling speck of light in the sky, as if they were looking at their own fading innocence.
"Our Necromancer Figurine Club's president, Mr. Plague Doctor, is a lich who is almost perfect. We are proud to have such an outstanding leader."
"However, the leader of the epidemic medical team also has one shortcoming."
"He wasn't ruthless enough; he lacked the resolve to transcend death."
"He was ruthless and decisive enough to us, his fellow lich comrades, but he could never face himself..."
"He thought he was hiding it well and that we wouldn't be able to find out."
"But actually, he was very afraid of death. I mean, he exhibited a morbid fear of death. He had never been injured, not even a bone had ever fallen out. After discussing and analyzing the situation, we concluded that the plague doctor was too young and did not yet have the self-awareness of a lich, still maintaining the habits he had before his death."
"It's a minor flaw, but we, the close friends of the top doctor, must help him become even more perfect, help him face death directly! We must find a way to let him die once, to die as romantically as fireworks, to die with blood and flesh flying everywhere, to die in a grand and amazing way."
The law is somewhat speechless. Aren't these three guys meddling too much? Is this how a friend should act?
"So what did you do to the medical student who was infected with the virus, and what does that have to do with the present?"
Mr. Law's question silenced the three again. After three seconds, the manipulator spoke up to answer.
“We didn’t do anything to the boss.”
"Before improving the Necro Gundam, the Plague Doctor was particularly interested in its [Safe Ejection Escape Device]. It's a dangerous escape device that allows the pilot to eject from the back of the Gundam when the Necro Gundam is close to collapse. The thrust generated by the explosion of the remains can make the cockpit fly away like a meteor, escaping the enemy's pursuit. The three of us strongly protested against this cowardly escape device, but our protests were ineffective, and the Plague Doctor still installed it."
“We were outraged by this dictatorial and extremely restrictive personal decision-making and rebelled against the boss.”
“We made the changes quietly, so subtle that the doctor wouldn’t even notice.”
The law had a bad feeling.
"What have you changed?!"
"We changed direction."
Before the law could be understood, a loud explosion had already occurred in the air.
Lancelot Albion, the shimmering necromancer, suddenly turned, as if resigned to its fate, to face the black hole, to confront the merciless gate of destruction. Then, the necromancer mech suddenly exploded, its shattered bones and flesh forming a meteor shower. Inside a luminous, crystal-like cockpit, Mr. Delusional's terrified expression was reflected.
His cockpit shot out like an arrow, carrying boundless courage and a resolute determination to face life and death, like a true warrior, plunging straight into the black hole.
Chapter 706 A Complete Betrayal, The Darkness of Solitude
Liches have escaped death, but that doesn't mean they are invincible. They also have weaknesses; various powerful mystical forces are capable of tearing a lich's soul apart. The Holy Light can do it, and so can the Void, where the Shadows reside.
When that light appeared, all the liches watching were astonished. And when the shuttle, clearly carrying Mr. Delusional, plunged into the black hole, the liches were stunned into a daze. In that instant, even their soul fires stopped beating, their active minds seemed frozen, their thoughts turned into rusty machines, stiffly trying to think of reasons and explain everything before them.
Why was he so brave? Was he really insane? Or did he feel he had no way out and, in a fit of rage, decided to sacrifice himself?!
In the lich's view, delusional behavior is both foolish and audacious.
It's foolish because they won't do it.
They are brave because they would never do that.
Regardless of my opinion of Mr. Delusional, the ending is probably irreversible.
Mr. Delusional will become the first lich in Andrei's decades-long history to truly bring about his own demise, becoming a tragic chapter in history.
The liches watched silently as the gleaming shuttle entered the edge of the black hole, its outline distorting in their eyes. Silence descended upon Andrei's crowd, as the undead mourned for those about to perish.
The dean's roar was like a raging fire burning on a cold wasteland, breaking the dull silence.
"Shut up the black hole! Death Star! That's your magic!"
Mr. Stasis stood beside Death Star, his usual composure shattered, now appearing just as volatile as the Dean. He reached out his hand towards Death Star's shoulder, but hesitated, worried about disturbing him. Muttering phrases like "crisis for the image of the Advanced Magic Research Club," he forcefully suppressed the urge to strangle Death Star II, spewing a torrent of words.
"Now that I'm in your territory, my ability to manipulate spacetime is greatly reduced. Stopping time now will only delay our reaction time. Damn it, damn it, damn it, assisting you is the worst thing that could happen to me. Make your black hole disappear, if you don't want your budget halved in the future!"
Death Star II trembled all over, his two hands, wreathed in dark matter, clenched into fists in the air. Forcibly accelerating the collapse of the black hole would cause him enormous damage. He had already done his best, and the sound of insects gnawing emanated from his palm bones as the rampaging void spread across his arms.
"I'm shutting it down! You all saw it clearly, he rushed up there himself! I... don't have enough time. My condolences, Dean, it's just bad luck for him."
The delusional cockpit had been completely swallowed by the black hole. Death Star sensed that he was too late; the surging void would crush that reckless lich into dust. An overwhelming sense of loss, accompanied by excruciating pain in his arms, surged through his skull.
The Dean's expression remained unchanged, showing neither the dejection of someone who had already accepted the outcome, nor the slackening of someone whose strength had dissipated. He remained worried and fearful, like an angry old lion. He raised a staff as tall as a man, its enchanted light shimmering, and stood before Death Star II.
"I'm talking about you. If you don't stop the black hole, you're in for a world of trouble!"
"?"
The dean stared intently at the shrinking black hole in the sky, his expression a mixture of reluctance and determination.
“That bastard is not justice; he’s never late.”
The black hole eventually shrank to a point and then suddenly exploded. The swirling shadowy power spread across the sky, and under the moonlight, the atmosphere seemed to have been torn open, creating a passage to the ether.
The shadows, like fire, ignite the air; their spreading reach resembles enormous wings, obscuring the last remaining moonlight of the night.
Andrei's courtyard was plunged into darkness, a dark cloud gathered overhead, and dark red flames burned within the cloud.
The oppressive power of the superior instantly enveloped everyone in Andrei. Whether they were law enforcers or warriors of light, they were all imprisoned in place by this pressure. Their heads were as if they were being held up by an invisible hand, their chins held up, looking up at the sky and the fiery clouds.
White bandages, eroded by shadows, hung from the clouds, binding the unconscious body of Mr. Delusional.
But the liches were no longer concerned about his safety; their attention was focused on the other side of the bandage, on that strange yet familiar, silent yet furious angel.
It merged with the void, and the wings behind it expanded into clouds covering Andrei, or rather, the sanctuary of angels.
The vengeful angel, George Edmont, descends upon the Andrei lich in a manner that evokes despair.
Every Voidbringer originates from the demise of a celestial body.
As Death Star II looked at the Dark Lord with his unusual aura in the air, he inexplicably thought of the hypothesis proposed by the Advanced Magic Research Society and felt that it had been verified.
Darkness had its sights on him.
Mr. Darkness raised his right hand, hovering in the air. The dark matter detonated by Death Star II obediently condensed in his palm, the void displaying a subservient deference to this ethereal messenger. The condensed shadow was hurled down by Mr. Darkness, stretching into a lightless meteor that struck Death Star II head-on. The destructive attack was lightning fast; in the blink of an eye, a massive mass of shadow appeared before them. Empowered by the power of the Void Angels, its corrosive force would be even more terrifying than the black hole created by the Death Star's explosion.
"Annihilation".
"The Abyss Without Light".
The angel's barrage shifted its direction and disappeared before the Dean's staff, which was enchanted with an unusual color.
"Oh~" the angel exclaimed, turning his gaze to the two people blocking his way.
Clad in full, menacing armor, the president of the Advanced Magic Research Society, Apocalypse, neutralized his attack. The dean also shared the burden.
Beneath the iron helmet, Apocalypse's cold voice rang out.
"If there's a next time, I won't just be defending, darkness."
The darkness seemed quite dismissive of Apocalypse's warning.
"Go ahead and try, Apocalypse. If you can't control your own dogs, then I'll kill them for you." A mocking and dangerous smile appeared on the dark face. "You've already been beaten once by Raymond. I don't mind showing you why we are called angels."
“George, it’s not what you think, it’s a misunderstanding…” The dean had a headache, and the long cane in his hand was given a new luster.
"A misunderstanding? A misunderstanding summoned me here, and a misunderstanding is enough to hurt my people?"
Darkness covered its face and let out a maniacal laugh, while the flames within the cloud wings burned even more fiercely.
"Old man, no one can touch my servants. If it's a misunderstanding, then I'll let it go."
"You know, you should understand, my fifth-tier ability, Flame of Retaliation. This ability is only triggered when my contractor suffers a fatal attack. And now you're telling me it was all a misunderstanding?!"
"I have never broken my vow in life, and I will not betray it after death."
The angel's tone was resolute, like the sword of judgment falling from the heavens.
“I will kill anyone who shows hostility towards my fellow countrymen or my people.”
“You’ve crossed the line, so you’re going to die.”
"No one can stop my revenge. If it's Andre, then I will be Andre's enemy."
Mr. Dark, the president of the literary society, made a crazy declaration that made Dean Andrei's eyebrows twitch. A crisis was breaking out, and the situation seemed to be heading towards a terrible future.
"Boss! It really was a misunderstanding!"
A head emerged from the lich, a head sealed within a runestone barrier, held aloft by the Law Master.
The reporter's appearance amidst the tense atmosphere, with only his head remaining, lightened the somber mood considerably.
Darkness frowned.
"Hidden Lock, have you been captured? If this Iron Man is threatening you, blink twice."
The reporter saw a complete skull with no flesh on it, and he remained silent for two seconds.
“Great Lord of Darkness, my suffering is nothing compared to yours, but please calm your anger and look at your lambs! Their praises and reverence for you are sealed within their twisted skin!”
Darkness expressed its doubt, but it had no choice but to respond to the reporter's earnest advice.
"Ridiculous! I am the all-knowing and all-powerful Dark Lord. How could I not know my servants? They could never have any problems. They are the most evil and depraved of darkness..."
Darkness then turned around and saw a group of warriors of light, dressed in bright, glittering clothes. Their radiant appearance made them look exactly like dozens of miniature Raymonds.
"I'm fucking mad!"
"Raymond! You beast, what have you done to my Dark Legion!"
