"My gold coin?" What caused William pain was that Dorgit family gold coin. But now it had completely changed; the gold material was more like a greasy layer of fat, several dark blue tentacles emerged from the broken cracks, and the human head pattern had been replaced by a bulging eyeball. It was a disguised flesh and blood creation.

The attack, though not serious, interrupted William's spellcasting at this crucial moment.

William could only watch as the arcane mage's hood billowed in the wind, his enormous mouth expanding violently like a snake, revealing a non-human interior filled with sharp, thorny teeth.

Then, a boulder smashed through the mud wall William had prepared, grazed William's scalp, and crushed the spellcaster along with his gaping mouth.

Behind the broken mud wall, a cold-hearted man peeked out.

“So, fate has led me to this… place where even dogs wouldn’t stay… Hello, sir.” The nameless man raised his hand and greeted William, who had turned away defensively. “I think there are no rules against damaging buildings in the abandoned area, Mr. Arcane Sorcerer. You don’t have to be so formal with me.”

"who are you?"

"Andre Academy, Nameless, a Lich."

"Lich, Nameless. Why have you come here?"

"Because of fate."

“Fate? You appeared the instant after I was assassinated. What a beautiful fate.”

“You don’t need to be so nervous, sir. I have absolutely no intention of harming you. I am Andrei’s lich. If I wanted to harm you, sir, you wouldn’t have the chance to speak to me face to face.”

"..." William lowered his guard, bowed apologetically, "I am William Dorgit. Please forgive me, Mr. Lich. In fact, I should be thanking you, you saved my life because of your attack just now."

Wuming's eyes widened instantly, then returned to calm.

“You’re welcome, sir. As long as you don’t pursue the matter of manslaughter,” the nameless manipulator levitated the boulder, examining the crushed remains of flesh and blood. “Mind control, bodily corruption, the style of an evil god.”

"An evil god? How could I possibly provoke an evil god?"

"If you don't know, that's your own problem."

“My gold coins have been replaced, which is related to my identity.”

“Oh, then your status must be so noble that it attracts evil gods. If I remember correctly, the City of Wanderings seems to be planning to announce an heir in the central square. Your Highness Prince Dorgit, you may have been replaced.”

William removed the dust-covered silver-white robe from his body, and the emblem of the Arcane Eye on it gradually merged with his memories. "So it really is..."

William turned his head as he crossed the muddy ditch.

"Thank you again for your help, Mr. Anonymous. I need to go to the central square now."

“I will go too. Fate has brought us together, and if I want a happy ending, I will hold on to it tightly.”

"Alright, mystical Mr. Lich."

Nameless and William returned to the Light and Shadow Zone together. Just then, a roar resounded throughout the entire Wandering City, causing tremors and collapses. In William's eyes, the beautiful city had changed.

The bewildered citizens transformed into twisted monsters, their bloodthirsty eyes fixed on the two remaining survivors.

"What is this?!" William dodged the monster's attack.

“It is obvious that the corruption of the evil god is unstoppable.” The rotating simulated form flung out flesh and blood debris. Nameless stood in place, his gaze penetrating the void, as if observing something.

"Then why haven't you changed?"

"Because I have someone I love?" Wuming reopened his eyes, looking at his fair skin. "Because of the new flesh and blood disguise, right? Did the Plague Doctor foresee all of this? What a monster."

"Then why didn't I turn into a monster?"

“Your Highness, why are you asking me this?” Nameless looked at William, who was being chased by flesh-and-blood creatures, and pinched his chin. “I’ve heard that noble blood cannot be tainted, and perhaps there is some truth to that.”

The two continued their nagging.

An expanding beam of light engulfed everything.

He vanished into the void.

Chapter 435 Ino's Death

Among the writhing, fleshy monsters, a grotesque skull embedded in what was once the left chest roared at the enemy before it.

"Echelon, you old bastard, what the hell are you standing there for! Get the hell out of here and save me!!!"

Seeing their old friend's embarrassing situation, the former king of the wandering knight and the other members of Twilight Memories were laughing heartily.

Lina couldn't stand the old man's attitude anymore.

"Defender!"

Three knights raised their lances. Without warhorses, the valiant knights wielded their lances with immense power, crushing the undead monsters.

A skeleton wearing a gleaming crown was rescued by a knight. His white bones were still covered with wriggling bits of flesh. Amidst the laughter of his companions, the late King Lucimaar swatted off the disgusting worms from his body.

“Thank you, little Lina.” Taking the cloak from Queen Deria, Lucimaar covered his exposed body. “Those damned bastards, they deserve the same humiliation as me!”

"These monsters aren't very powerful, otherwise we would have suffered even greater losses."

Lucimare returned to the team and looked at his companions in the Twilight Memories. Some were in the same situation as him, while others were unharmed.

The time-space shift changed their positions; some were lucky enough to escape being devoured, while Lucimare was the worst off.

"Damn usurper! I'll hang him!" The crowd at Twilight Memory vented their anger at Sheriwu, the instigator.

Lina and Kayla stood together, while the Defenders and Ghost Hunters defended against the monsters' attacks, and the advancing Defender Knights created a safe zone.

Why haven't we been corrupted?

Reed stood behind his granddaughter, realizing this was a good opportunity to improve their relationship.

"We are kings, the pinnacle of all that is good and bad in the nation. The trials our will has endured are enough to withstand those mad voices." This is what is meant by "I have eaten more salt than you have eaten rice." "The despair, resentment, depravity, and madness that a king of a fallen kingdom once faced are unimaginable to that evil god who looks to be under thirty."

Lina recalled how she looked when she first awoke after the teleportation. The enraged former king had smashed through the monster horde and was standing beside her. Her dissatisfaction with Reid lessened slightly, even though the loyal defender knights had also arrived with him.

"Your Highness, are you injured? Let me check your external injuries!"

"How dare you! How dare you touch Her Highness's precious body with your filthy hands! Benjamin, take off your blood-stained arm guards!!!"

"Okay, okay..." With a bang, Lina used Benjamin to set up her weapon, walked past the knights who were offering words of comfort, and stood beside the silent Reid.

"And what about us? The armies of Dereia and Levisser have not been corrupted either."

Reed made a deep sound from inside the canned helmet, and the king's voice echoed in Lina's ears.

"Isn't it only natural that the power of a king should protect his people?"

"Your Majesty Irian..."

“Every power has its limits. We are merely enduring mad interference. Compared to the corruption that Irian endured, which was pierced by evil forces on the spot, what we have experienced is just a drop in the ocean.”

“This is our mission now,” Echel walked over. “Our people are all assembled. Head to the central square immediately. Irian is the magical center of this catastrophe; we must save him!”

The City of Wanderings, Other Areas.

"Alas!!!!!!"

The spinal wheel crushed flesh and blood, rampaging through the former streets, while the liches laughed, feeling the unbridled madness.

"Bone above! No speed limits, no law enforcement, I love this place so much!"

Then, the lich who uttered these words was rammed into the building along with his wheel by another spinal wheel.

He manipulated and forced other liches to stop, then spoke while standing on the bone wheel.

"Our job is rescue; let's not forget our original mission!"

"Professor Andrei, are there any left in the City of Wandering?"

"No, the professors returned to Andrei immediately to continue their research; only we stayed here."

"Right now, the members closest to the professor are only your Necromancer Figurine Club, including the four-person group of the Plague Doctor, and the three-person group of the Literature Club."

“I can understand the Plague Doctor getting close to the Professor of Conjuration, but what subject does the Literature Club have to do with? Aren’t they just liches who are just asking for trouble?”

"Sociology? Psychology? Finance? I don't know, but if you let me choose the literary society to make the decision, I'll betray them right now."

And so, the Necromancer Figure Company became Andre's temporary leader, and with the Plague Doctor absent, the slightly more serious Manipulator became the temporary leader.

"My friends, the City of Hesitation is now completely corrupted. We escaped thanks to the Plague Doctor's flesh and blood disguise..."

The camouflage of flesh and blood is the reason for resisting corruption, as Andrei's lich proved through experiments.

"This is the end of the entire city! Do you know what will happen if we don't intervene?"

"Die again?"

"The debt doesn't need to be repaid?"

"We're going to share a grave with the literary society?"

If manipulation fails, it is foolish to try to boost the lich's morale with lofty ideals like survival instinct.

"Everyone! Set off to find the Scholar. The Plague Doctor will definitely be there too. We need a mission. The City of Wanderings is one of our territories, and it must not be reduced to a boring field of flesh and blood experiments."

Light and shadow area.

Traces of the Night of Lawlessness still linger on the floor, where flesh and blood intertwine, on the shattered buildings, on the dreamlike blue plague that lingers in the air, and on the bloodstains left by writhing monsters, just like the spilled drinks kicked over after the revelry that day.

The signboard of the Bloody Rose Bar, covered with tubes, has been parasitized by a tumor that seems to have appeared out of nowhere, struggling to squeeze its massive clots of blood into the pipes that carry the flowing wine.

The panicked, fleshy monsters roared and tumbled and crawled to both sides of the street.

The visitor stood before the dilapidated scene, looking at the once familiar place, with a nostalgic expression.

"Ino!"

William stepped on the ice shards, igniting the surrounding monsters, and appeared before Sheriu.

William's gaze was fixed on Ino's intact body, lingering on the glowing key in his hand.

"It really was you."

“Yes,” Ino said, her gaze never leaving the Blood Rose Bar sign. “I borrowed your identity, controlled and polluted your city, and corrupted all its inhabitants.”

The sharp rock spikes pierced through Ino's body. Without defense or evasion, the evil god's juvenile form, Ino, was tossed about like a toy, while his blood-spitting lips continued to speak calmly.

“I need to do this. As a city that is a major enemy of Trier, a city that can provide support and descend into the battlefield at any time, it is very troublesome.”

"Is this your reason for torturing them! Candy, Loren, Gurelia, Beatrice, your barmates, they accepted you without holding a grudge! You monster!"

"This is why I am using this body named Ino to accompany you in death, and this is also why you killed me."

Without displaying the twisted power of the evil god, blood flowed down the stone spikes, Ino's breathing gradually stopped, and the key controlling the nodes of the Moon Nefarian magic network fell to the ground.
