"I need to go to the City of Wanderings to see some old friends."

Chapter 332 The Resurrected

On the edge of the city's central district, an old building stands like an oil painting, nestled within the residential area.

Memories of Twilight: The lords of various royal families, though now it seems they should be those royals who have already died. Calling them "old friends" is quite fitting.

Lyle attends the daily gatherings of Twilight Memories, usually once a month. Unlike the royals who spend all their time in their rooms boasting, he has a lot to do.

The birth of Nia.

The flower of revenge, the sword dance of the mandala.

The Tree Kingdom of Levisel.

Ranger Lord Echel, now Queen Keira of Leviathan.

And the days when I was a monkey on the vines.

The beautiful memories seem like yesterday, and I am no longer the same person I was then. The Twilight Memories began a new recruitment of members, and this time, when Mr. Irian's letter arrived at the Cup of Extravagance, it expressed a strong request for Lyle to attend.

"Perhaps they want to see me about something. Now I should be able to repay Mr. Echer's kindness."

A gentle knock on the brown wooden door brought the usual laughter from inside, reaching Lyle's ears after the tin can sauntered in and opened the door with heavy steps.

Lyle took off his hat and greeted the burly man who opened the door.

"Hello, Mr. Reid." The one who opened the door was Mr. Reid from the Kingdom of Deria, a friend and frenemy of the ranger lord Echel.

The armored knight stared at Lyle, and from behind his helmet came muffled sounds like breathing, or perhaps the sound of swallowing back words.

In the end, Reed didn't say it.

"...Welcome, Lyle. Irwin will be very happy to see you, and so will that bastard."

Perhaps maintaining such etiquette had exhausted Lord Reid's patience, for after speaking, he turned and walked straight toward the hall. As he moved, he moved close to one side of the wall, leaving a narrow path for people to walk side by side—perhaps a silent gesture of goodwill.

Unlike Reid, who silently sat down in a corner, Lyle was immediately greeted with a warm welcome and cheers when he appeared in the sight of the royal family.

This was far more lively than usual, even surpassing the social savage Echer's. The gazes of the royalty lingered on him, but not a single word was uttered amidst the shoving and jostling.

About half a minute later, Echer, who was always so straightforward, stepped forward. But now she seemed like a young woman.

"Long time no see, Lyle. How have you been?"

"Long time no see, Mr. Echer. Thanks to you, all is well."

"...Haha, Lyle, the weather is nice today."

The royal family members standing behind him realized that this was a mistake.

The person who truly took charge stepped forward.

Wearing a feathered felt hat and a distinctive smiling mask, Mr. Irian's voice carried a reassuring quality.

"Forgive our stiffness, Lyle, even the dead have pride. This might be the first time some of us have ever asked for help from someone else."

"Help?" Lyle glanced at the crowd who were looking around and shifting their gazes, his surprise outweighing any amusement. "If I can help Twilight Memories, it would be my honor."

The nobles seemed to have finally rediscovered their elegance and treated Lyle with even greater enthusiasm.

“Then I’ll be frank,” Irene coughed a few times. “It sounds a bit strange, but I think you’ve probably already noticed that the members of Twilight Memories are actually a group of… the dead, special dead. Because of our special status, it’s difficult for us to get along with other dead people, which is why we’ve gathered together.”

Lyle knew, and also knew, that the reason for this special status was because of their royal status.

“Lyle, that disguise the Andrei lich wore recently, was it your creation? I am actually one of the Andrei liches, but I concealed my identity and joined the Magic Research Society, which is why I know about recent events.” Mr. Irian paused. “I heard that the disguise of flesh and blood can bring the dead back to life…”

“Hunger disguise can recreate the appearance of someone in life, allowing the lich to taste food, if that means being alive,” Lyle smiled, a proud voice rising within him, “I think so, I can certainly do it.”

“Can we also buy this service from you, or trade it in any form?” Irian looked at the others. “The biggest difference between us and the other undead is that we still cherish our living families.”

“You’ve given us an opportunity, Lyle, an opportunity we’ve always longed for. We’re willing to pay any price for it.”

Irene was waiting for Lyle's reply, as was everyone else. The huge room was silent, as quiet as the scraping of armor.

Lyle raised his head, the lenses of the plague doctor's mask reflecting the candlelight.

"Mr. Irene, you're from the Magic Research Society, do you know Mr. Mirror?"

Irene paused for a moment, "Oh, of course, Mr. Jing is our president, of course I know him, but I usually stay in the laboratory, so Mr. Jing probably wouldn't remember an unknown person like me."

"Mr. Jing is my senior; we had the same teacher..."

"...Your teacher should feel very lucky to have such an excellent student as you, Lyle."

“Mr. Irian, I have a close relationship with the Magic Research Society. The Magic Research Society is my teacher’s home, which is also my home. By extension, I am also very close to the Twilight Memories.”

"Family members don't need to make deals. I will do everything I can to help Twilight Memories."

The cheers nearly overturned the twilight memories; they embraced each other in celebration, and some even composed a poem on the spot praising Lyle's noble character.

And so, while the Necromancer Figurine Company was dealing with orders from the demons, Lyle began to create unique flesh and blood disguises for each of the dead in Twilight Memories.

A few days later.

"Oh oh oh oh oh oh oh!"

"This feeling! I'm dying of my own good looks!"

It must be said that the appearance of royalty was guaranteed in this era. A group of dead people disguised in flesh and blood seemed to have been given a second spring, and several even vowed on the spot to start a new romance in the City of Wandering.

Handsome men and beautiful women rushed out of the old house of Twilight Memories. Lyle watched their fierce backs and felt a little worried. If the City of Wanderings also experienced a lich calamity, they probably wouldn't be able to catch me.

No, no, no, it's impossible for it to erupt. This is restricted-level starved flesh and blood; it doesn't have the resources to cause a riot.

The Twilight Memories quickly dwindled to just a few people, and Mr. Irian preserved his disguise perfectly. Strangely, he didn't put it on immediately. Echel had already struck dozens of cool archery poses in the middle of the hall, and even Mr. Reed, who had regained his physical body, had removed his helmet.

Irene smiled at Lyle's questioning gaze.

"I plan to surprise my child with my new look."

"Mr. Irian's offspring?"

Yes, he happens to be in this city.

A muscular arm draped over Lyle's shoulder, and Mr. Echer, with a roguish air about him, let out a hearty laugh.

“Come on, let’s go! Lyle, let’s go back to Levise and give my precious granddaughter a surprise! And also to properly thank you, kid.” Echel looked to the other side. “Iron Pot, you come too, we’re close by anyway.”

Mr. Reed stiffened for a moment, then said in a low voice.

"I'll leave it at that. We shouldn't bother her. Only by letting go of the past can we be better off..."

"Look at you, you coward, all talk and no action, disgusting! If you really don't want to go back, then skin yourself alive and put on that miserable face for whoever you're showing it to? Knight, my foot! You're just a coward! One word: dare you go back or not!"

Reed put his helmet back on and strode over.

"I'll find a chance to tear your stinking mouth apart sooner or later."

"Perhaps they want to see me about something. Now I should be able to repay Mr. Echer's kindness."

Chapter 333 Return to Lewes

"Damn grass, damn tree, damn Echel!"

Along the way, in the waist-high grass, as the lush blades of grass were crushed, the bitter juice of plants seeped out, along with Mr. Red's incessant complaints.

Echel walked in front, Lyle followed behind, and Reid brought up the rear.

The heavy armor was entangled by branches and vines, making it even more difficult for Reid, who was already carrying a heavy load, to walk. The deep pits hidden in the grass, which were invisible to the naked eye, were able to force out the authentic Derya swear words from inside the fully enclosed iron helmet.

Lyle smiled with relief; it turned out he wasn't the only one suffering in Lewes.

The three were on their way to the tree kingdom of Lewesser, with Lyle as the invited guest and Reid as a bystander.

"Ha! Is this all the so-called king of the land, the knights of Deria, are capable of?"

Before Reed could reply, a loud clang, like metal clashing, echoed through the silent forest.

Reed remained silent, crouched down, and removed the object from the iron boot.

"Monkey, what's this?"

Echer glanced at it casually.

"A bear trap? What, is that so strange? This is a jungle."

Reed's roar echoed through the iron helmet.

"You bunch of bastards, setting bear traps in your own hallway! Crazy! If it weren't for the armor, I'd be missing my legs! Damn bastards!"

Echer scoffed dismissively.

"You're alright, aren't you? We Lewes people don't walk, we fly. Only a fool like a brown bear would get caught in his own trap."

Echel glanced at Lyle. "Look, Lyle didn't step on it. Besides, if it's broken, it's broken. If your leg is broken, you can just fix it. Do you really think you're a human being?"

Lyle breathed a sigh of relief; under the mask, Nia absorbed the cold sweat from his face.

Thank goodness, no wonder Nia pulled me a step to the left earlier.

“It’s hunting season now, and the wild animals are preparing food for winter, so are we.”

Throughout the journey, the grumbling and cursing never stopped, with Lyle acting as a peacemaker in the middle.

And so, we arrived at a familiar place.

Directly below the Kingdom of Lewesser, looking up at the massive, canopy-like platform overhead, the spiderweb-like suspension bridge, and the dense ropes, Lyle's mind was filled with memories.

As for how Lyle was able to identify the location of Lewes after only one visit, it was because he found something that impressed him deeply.

The wedge-shaped grooves that have existed for a meter on the dark giant tree are like centipedes climbing to the top.

I really miss those days.

"Lewesser Children's Access".

Echel took the lead, climbing upwards like a gecko, leaving Lyle and Reid behind as she went.

Lyle glanced at Reid's heavy iron armor and pointed to the groove in the tree.
