The towering city wall, which seemed like an unchanging rule since ancient times, now had a gap that was insignificant to the wall as a whole, but to them it was an incredibly wide opening.

The exit has always been here, but they never thought about truly facing the empty world outside. They resisted this dream while being immersed in it, unable to wake up.

A crisp knock echoed in the quiet room. Annie, sitting in her wheelchair with her head down, shrugged, pulled down the cowboy hat covering her face, opened her mouth, and after a while, finally spoke in a hoarse voice, "Is this Ashley?"

"it's me."

The familiar voice put Annie at ease, but the door showed no sign of opening.

"Annie, it's over."

"Really? I'm sorry, I wasn't very helpful," Annie instinctively pulled her cowboy hat over her thigh, speaking somewhat anxiously, "Now what..."

"The Mafia's envoys have arrived. They have pledged their loyalty to us and hope that we can restore the wasteland as the new royal family and establish a peaceful kingdom on this land. We have agreed."

"They are now actively searching for survivors. The number of survivors is beyond our imagination. This country is not finished yet."

Anne's breath hitched, her voice trembling, "But...where is Dante?"

After a brief silence, Ashley's voice slowly broke the silence, "Dante felt very frustrated and decided to leave the wasteland in order to truly change it..."

"This is not—"

“I made an appointment with Dante,” Ashley raised her voice, “I won’t wait for him to open the door.”

Anne opened her mouth, then lowered her head. "I'm sorry..."

In 2011, the wasteland was attacked by an unprecedented unknown creature. The wasteland royal family and all the residents of the capital, Millennium, perished. Merchants from the Cretaceous Circle and gangsters from the Jurassic Circle put aside their past grievances and established a new federation in the wasteland. They overthrew all the laws established by the wasteland royal family and nobles for their own selfish purposes and declared that there would be no more class walls in the wasteland, and everyone would have equal rights.

Is anyone else here?

Is anyone there?

Urgent calls echoed across the ruins.

Population is the cornerstone of a nation's prosperity. Finding even one person can help restore some of the weakened wasteland.

In the corner, the Plague Doctor raised his hand and grasped the raven mask on his face, twisting it left and right a couple of times. With an eerie wriggling sound, the raven mask that completely covered the Plague Doctor's head unfolded and was removed. The man twisted his head left and right, and the Plague Doctor's clothes disappeared, leaving behind the most standard Triassic Circle residents' clothing. His expressionless face, which was so blank it didn't seem human, made a few exaggerated expressions and immediately became lifelike.

"Someone help me! Someone save me!"

Chapter 163 The New Creator

"It's all alright now!"

Are you alright?

"It was dangerous there, but it's alright now. Hurry up and come here. Here, this is food."

As the saying goes, true friendship is revealed in times of adversity. In the face of a massive natural disaster, all past conflicts will vanish, regardless of...

Whether rich or poor, we will move forward hand in hand, and the current wasteland perfectly embodies this concept.

The former thugs became heroes who rose up against the monsters. They changed their former brutality and walked tirelessly on the ruins, shouting. Whenever they heard the slightest sound, they would do their best to dig and carry the victims to safety before continuing their search.

The once ruthless merchants became the most solid and reliable support in the aftermath of the disaster. They changed their selfish and cold-blooded ways and readily opened all their warehouses to support the survivors.

When people who stepped into the Cretaceous Circle for the first time saw that the place was not as luxurious as they had imagined, and was even a little more backward than where they lived, their former prejudices vanished.

In the eyes of those lucky ones, the thugs were heroes who had come to their senses in the face of right and wrong, and the merchants were companions who had also been bullied by the royal family and nobles but had accumulated strength and helped them at the most critical moment.

And the royal family and nobles, whom they hated most and who could never stand together even in the face of natural disasters, were all wiped out in the capital, Millennium.

Although the place was still as hopeless as hell, everyone seemed to have achieved their most satisfactory result, and everything was thriving.

A veil of illusion descends, blurring the cruelty of everything and making it all seem incredibly beautiful.

No one can see through this veil of mystery what is silently being conceived beneath.

“Long time no see, Minister Dela Par.”

"Long time no see, the great King in Yellow."

Li Yili raised his head, wanting to lift his hand to remove the rain hat on his head, but the thought that welled up from the bottom of his heart suppressed his movement, and in the end he could only give up and wave his hand.

“Minister Dela Par, I still prefer your old, unruly self. Why don’t you revert to that?”

"I also enjoy seeing others bewildered and foolish, but waking up from that foolishness... that's not such a pleasant experience, Great King in Yellow. Do you know how many times I've woken up from nightmares?"

Della Par, kneeling on one knee behind Li Yili, gave a wry smile.

Why was it that simply talking to Li Yili was enough to bring him back from the madness that had driven him to despair?

At first, he thought he had found an incredible answer, but when he actually woke up, he realized how ridiculously blind and foolish he had been.

"Is that so? So, you know? Our...our true identities?" Li Yili let out a long sigh.

“The real human beings, the real [Creator], and we… are merely blasphemous servants,” Della Pal lowered her head. “Please forgive our blasphemy, for only in this way can we awaken from our blindness and understand our mission?”

"mission?"

“Yes, a noble mission—” Dela Pal’s eyes gleamed with fervor, “to prepare the land of civilization for the arrival of the real [Creator].

"This is... the soil you and the Cult of Steam and Steel have prepared?"

Li Yili looked up and saw the entire wasteland come into view. The congealed black bloodstains seemed like some kind of creature that swallowed up the buildings that symbolized civilization.

Just like in the time of Guo Weiton, the people have turned into monsters, but there are no temples in the wasteland, so there won't be a situation where all the monsters are wiped out and the temples are refreshed. This will cover the entire kingdom, and what should have been recycled and condensed into heritage by the temples will seep into this land, permanently transforming it in a way that is far more effective than the temples themselves.

On this land, an unprecedented new society and a new civilization will be born.

"Yes."

Li Yili's voice was incredibly calm, which made Dela Pal feel a little uneasy. However, when she thought that the [Prophecy Algorithm] had already been reset to zero and that Li Yili was just standing there watching, she calmed down and regained her confidence.

"The Cult of Steam and Steel began conceiving this a century ago and actively sought us out for experiments, but the process was not smooth," Della Pal recounted the fatal problems they had faced in the past with a rather relaxed tone, now that they had succeeded.

"Therefore, we chose to modify the process, not to complete it all at once, but to gradually select and gather the factors before integrating them."

Dela Pardon paused, then lowered her head again.

"Of course, all of this is thanks to you, the great King in Yellow. Without your help and guidance, it would never have been accomplished so naturally."

"However, we will not let our guard down."

"The Church of Steam and Steel has re-established itself in the wasteland in another way, and we will not be confined to this wasteland. This world... is vast! This little land is not enough for you to descend, is it?"

Dela Pal looked up with intense fervor at Li Yili's tall, ancient back.

"what--"

Li Yili chuckled and said nothing more, which puzzled Dela Pal. However, Dela Pal quickly accepted this confusion. They were merely descendants of the real creators who had walked the earth, while Li Yili was a true creator. Don't try to understand the thoughts of the creators, the true gods. Just be clear about one thing.

They, all life forms in this world, are nothing more than creations of the gods.

Dela Pal stood up and moved aside.

The squeaking rats wriggled their bodies, and the door formed by the rat doors slowly opened, revealing a murky space. Rebecca, who had been looking around, immediately lowered her body and growled at the open door.

In the murky space, pairs of eyes opened, and at the end of those eyes, in the center of the murky space, stood a throne.

"Great King in Yellow, this is your throne."

Li Yili tilted her head slightly.

"No interest."

After saying that, Li Yili leaped forward and jumped off the roof. Rebecca glared at Dela Pal and then jumped off as well.

"Don't walk so fast! Wait for me! They won't know who my master is if you go so far!"

Dela Pal sighed, raised her head and exhaled, then turned to look at the murky space behind her. Some eyes in the space were filled with surprise, while others were filled with disappointment. Dela Pal could only shake her head helplessly.

"It's alright—the Creators are watching us. Even if the King in Yellow, like the Black Goat, doesn't intend to guide us, the new Creators will bring us more chaos and provide nourishment for this land of civilization."

Final Thoughts

First of all, I would like to apologize. Although I was very confident, this was my first time writing this type of subject matter. With an immature outline, I still made some problems and even some basic ones, which made your reading experience worse and worse. I am really sorry.

I wanted to pull off a reverse Cthulhu plot, but I couldn't handle it. Many of the settings I decided on from the beginning, including the combat power system, had no chance to be shown and even became a burden. The plot deviated from the important system, which made it impossible to effectively fill many plot holes. It can be said that I overestimated my own abilities.

Starting from the third volume, there was no outline, only a vague direction. In the next volume, there was really only a concept left.

I don't want to attribute these issues to silence and Yang's actions. The readers who paid to support me are definitely right. Ultimately, it's just that I'm incompetent and unaware of it. Every time I have excessive confidence, I end up falling flat on my face.

I am very grateful to the readers who supported me until the end, and I am truly sorry to have disappointed everyone in the end.

terribly sorry.
