"He is the King in Yellow, the true God of the Old Ones, and we are merely his successors who have blasphemed themselves for their sacred mission."

The outstretched hand slowly retracted, and the swarming rats scattered with squeaks.

After a while,

Wochi leaned against the wall and took a breath.

“I understand, Mr. Parr.”

Chapter Ninety-Eight: Just Wanting to Quietly Appreciate the Young Ladies

"Waaah~ Ladies, I didn't mean to spoil your fun, but I'm just too tired."

Li Yili held her forehead and sighed helplessly.

The ancients enjoyed appreciating birds, and this appreciation included not only their beautiful feathers but also their clear and melodious calls.

Li Yili is an ordinary person. He doesn't really understand the beauty of birds, so he prefers to admire roasted chicken wings rather than birds.

Li Yili was delighted to admire the young ladies in front of her. Their voices were as melodious as nightingales, and even more fortunate was that Li Yili appreciated their beauty, their snow-white necks, and their delicate features. Watching them laugh and play in front of her was simply a great joy in life.

But the greatest pleasure in appreciating beautiful things does not lie in how beautiful the things being appreciated are, but in the fact that the person appreciating them has absolute control and distance, and can leave when they are satisfied. That's why when the ancients appreciated birds, they either kept the birds in cages or in the forest, always leaving an unchangeable distance.

The young ladies' laughter was indeed delightful, but they were too close and too curious. Li Yili not only couldn't quietly appreciate it, but she was also pestered by the young ladies to ask all sorts of questions.

So Li Yili was really tired.

The young ladies all sighed in disappointment, but they did not insist that Li Yili continue to satisfy their curiosity.

"Speaking of which, Mr. Yellow Raincoat doesn't have a place to stay yet, does he?"

A young lady asked a seemingly ordinary question, but one that was unusually insightful in this context.

The disappointed young ladies all turned their heads and stared straight at Li Yili, their eyes lighting up.

They are happy to share, but that doesn't mean they lack competitiveness.

"Mr. Yellow Raincoat, if you don't mind..."

Before the blonde young lady could finish speaking, the purple-haired young lady behind her covered her mouth and robbed her of her next words.

"You can stay at my house for a while!"

"You can stay at my house too!"

"Why don't you stay at my place?"

The other young ladies also extended invitations.

Ashley, who had lost the initiative, was a little anxious. While the other young ladies were just trying to satisfy their curiosity, she had an additional layer of affection for Dante.

She doesn't mind sharing, but she doesn't want to share everything; she hopes Li Yili can tell her some things about Dante privately.

At this moment, Li Yili's feelings were extremely complicated.

As a man, he felt incredibly happy to be invited home by all sorts of wealthy young ladies.

But these young ladies were eager to invite him because they wanted to know more about Dante, another man, and as a man, he felt his pride explode.

“Ahem—I am very grateful for everyone’s invitation, but I promised Mr. Dante that I would protect Miss Ashley,” Li Yili stood up and stood next to Ashley.

The young ladies all cast envious glances at Ashley. Before she could even extend an invitation, Ashley quickly adjusted her posture, casually raising her chin, but her face was flushed and she looked adorable.

Although the young ladies were reluctant, they accepted the situation, especially since Li Yili had brought up Dante.

"Ladies, I look forward to the next tea party."

Ashley rose gracefully, pinched the hem of her skirt and lifted it up slightly. The other young ladies also rose and lifted their skirts, making the restaurant feel like a ballroom.

The young ladies, holding parasols, smiled and said goodbye, while Ashley, with her chin held high, moved like a beautiful swan.

Ashley's attendant frowned slightly when he saw Li Yili and the others following behind Ashley, but said nothing.

“Well then, Mr. Yellow Raincoat and the three ladies, please follow me,” Ashley said with a very gentle and polite bow, then turned and led the way.

Li Yili couldn't help but sigh, "If the wasteland royal family and nobles were as humble and polite as she is, the wasteland would surely prosper."

“Yes,” Anne nodded readily in agreement, “but unfortunately, from the moment the first wall was built, it was destined that words like humility, politeness, and gentleness would be foreign to the royalty and nobility of the wasteland. What’s worse…”

Anne leaned forward slightly and pushed the wheelchair with all her might.

"There were three layers of this city wall."

Rebecca patted her belly and let out a burp, her slightly upturned pupils scanning the pedestrians on the street. Aditi quietly followed behind Rebecca on her right, her eyes fixed on everything in the chalk circle.

Led by Ashley, they soon arrived at Ashley's house.

Of course, describing Subtle as a home is a bit shabby. The beautiful garden surrounds a residence that is as large as a small castle yet incredibly elegant. Compared to this residence, the homes of the wasteland royals and nobles, who practically hang the word "luxury" on their doors, are incredibly tacky, much like nouveau riche eager to prove to others how wealthy they are.

"Huh... there's no wall around it," Rebecca said, looking around curiously.

"Hmm? Why do we need a wall?" Ashley tilted her head. "If there's a wall, won't other people be able to see the flowers?"

“Eh…” Rebecca, who did not expect Ashley to answer like that, leaned back and rubbed her hands together, chuckling awkwardly, “It’s just, you know, thief or something.”

“Thief? What are you talking about? How could there be thieves in the Cretaceous Circle? Everyone lives a comfortable life,” Ashley covered her mouth and chuckled softly.

Rebecca hesitated for a while before nodding. "It seems...that's the case."

Along the way, she kept observing the streets of the Cretaceous Circle. Although the Triassic Circle and the Jurassic Circle were completely different, both of them had a feeling of struggling in despair, but the Cretaceous Circle had an indescribable sense of comfort and tranquility.

This environment certainly doesn't seem like a place where thieves might be.

Led by Ashley, Li Yili and her companions passed through the garden and entered a residence that was as large as a small castle yet incredibly elegant. Along the way, many servants cast curious glances at Li Yili and her group, but none of them asked any questions.

Anne looked around at the hallway's decor. The more she looked, the more she couldn't help but sigh. Compared to the wasteland royalty and nobility who liked to crudely inlay gems and gold into statues and walls, she preferred Tipor Eugene's home decor. It seemed simple, but it was very artistic, making one imagine how elegant and composed the people living there must be.

In fact, Ashley walking through such a corridor is like a beautiful, moving painting.

Li Yili held her chin and said, "Wow... I didn't expect him to actually decorate like this."

Annie's heart skipped a beat. She stiffly looked up at Li Yili and managed to squeeze out a sound.

"what?"

Chapter Ninety-Nine: Hollowed-out Wishes

“I almost forgot that he was the beneficiary of the upheaval that Mr. Levi Esti Richard stirred up in the wasteland.”

Anne tried hard to smile naturally, but ultimately failed.

Tipor Eugene, widely recognized as the largest trader in the Cretaceous, even had the inclination to be a business tycoon.

It was as if Tipole Eugene was chosen by the heavens. The sudden upheaval in the wasteland business circle caught many merchants in the Cretaceous Circle off guard, but Tipole Eugene rose to prominence and occupied several industrial chains, becoming the recognized largest trader in the Cretaceous Circle, and was privately referred to by many as the King of Commerce.

It now appears that this business tycoon was not simply a business genius.

Annie felt very upset.

She thought Tipole Eugene was amazing and admired him for achieving such miraculous success, but now he was being told that Li Yili was behind this miraculous achievement.

Is it hard for you to accept?

Li Yili gazed at Ashley's back in front of her, leaned forward, and whispered in Annie's ear.

Annie didn't say anything, but pushed the wheelchair hard, trying to shake off Li Yili. Li Yili also grabbed the armrests on the back of the wheelchair and stepped onto the platform between the two wheels, being pulled forward by Annie like a ghost.

Because of the added weight of an adult, the wheelchair became much heavier, but Annie didn't utter a sound. Her face flushed, she pushed the wheelchair with all her might until Ashley stopped and turned around, at which point Li Yili stepped off the wheelchair.

“This is the guest room… Uh, Miss Anne, you seem very tired.”

Although Annie tried her best to control her breathing, Ashley noticed the fine beads of sweat on Annie's forehead. After a moment of surprise, she immediately stepped forward with a face full of self-reproach.

Are you alright?

“No, I’m fine, thank you,” Annie shook her head and glared fiercely at Li Yili, who was whistling silently.

“Really? By the way—Miss Anne, would you like to soak in a hot spring?” Ashley thought for a moment, then squatted down to look Anne in the eye. “Yes, a hot spring is a big bathtub, it’s good for your health.”

Anne wanted to refuse, but she couldn't resist Ashley's remorseful look, as if she wanted to make up for her oversight, so she had no choice but to nod.

“Miss Rebecca, Miss Artiti, if you don’t mind, let’s go for a soak in the hot springs together,” Ashley said with a bright smile after Anne agreed. She looked at Artiti and Rebecca and nodded with her fingers in front of her, extending an invitation with a touch of shyness. “I’d love to know more about you two.”

"Then I'll wander around for a bit!"

Li Yili waved politely and bowed before leaving.

Anne breathed a soft sigh of relief, her hands instinctively gripping the armrests of the wheelchair.

She felt extremely uncomfortable after realizing that Tipor Eugene, the king of business, was brought about by Li Yili.

Li Yili is very reliable.

Because of Li Yili's appearance, she was no longer just waiting endlessly. She not only crossed the walls of the Triple Circle, but also easily crossed the Jurassic Circle, which was the most dangerous and difficult to cross on her list and was full of thugs.

Although she didn't want to admit it, she began to depend on her, and even became an appendage of Li Yili.

Thinking about it carefully, she had made all sorts of preparations in the Triassic Circle, but she hadn't done anything in the Jurassic Circle at all. She just sat in the hotel trying to deduce Li Yili's behavior from the daily newspapers. But before she could figure anything out, she was directly brought to the Cretaceous Circle. What made it even harder for her to breathe was that the Jurassic Circle was indeed about to change.

She had a bad feeling. She was still pursuing her own desires, but her inner self was being hollowed out and replaced by Li Yili, who was helping her achieve them, or rather... Mr. Yellow Raincoat, just like Tipor Eugene.

Although she hadn't met Tipor Eugene yet, she had this premonition.

The interior decoration of the residence is for advertising

He tells the visitors who he is, and also tells himself who he is.

Tipor Eugene took Li Yili's casual suggestion and modified the interior decoration of the house.

Anne let out a long breath and pinched the bridge of her nose.

Perhaps she was being overly sensitive, but this certainly served as a wake-up call for her.

Her desire for change is progressing at an extremely rapid pace; she will be the beneficiary of her wish's fulfillment, but she will not achieve the result she desires.

"Miss Ashley, do you enjoy whispering among girls?"

Ashley blinked, then clasped her hands together in front of her, her eyes sparkling. "Of course! It would be nice to talk about Mr. Dante, but! I'm also very interested in what you two are like!"

"Well—let's talk about our business, and... about Mr. Dante."

Li Yili strolled along the elegant walkway, sometimes nodding at the reliefs, sometimes reaching out her hand to the pristine white statues to feel the sculptor's soul.

He still remembered Tipor Eugene, but the memory wasn't very vivid, because at the time he was preoccupied with securing sponsorships and organizing events to earn credits. However, he did remember the situation in the chalk circle at the time. On the surface, it was harmonious, but because the business district had stopped expanding, all the businessmen were openly and secretly competing to find ways to further expand their assets.

So he casually wrote a few proposals, and it was no coincidence that they ended up in Tipor Eugene's hands.
