After the food was distributed, everyone started eating. Perhaps food can also regulate one's mood, because everyone felt very happy.

Chapter Ninety-Seven Knowledge Understanding

"Gurgle gurgle"

"Beep," everyone drank the milk, but after Qianhu finished drinking, he touched his knee in surprise, and it seemed that the pain was gone.

Unable to understand, Chito continued to devour the food on his plate. The two people next to him were also eating with great relish. Although there were no seasonings added, the beef itself had a wonderful flavor.

While enjoying dinner, everyone gradually forgot about what had just happened. It was time to eat, and they could talk about other things later.

"Oh. I'm done eating, I'm so full," Yuri said, then slumped onto the table, not wanting to move. But after a while, she took out her spoon and started rummaging through Chito's plate for a piece of beef, putting it in her mouth. "Mmm, so delicious!"

"Yu~" Chito stared at Yuri, who was stealing food from her plate. "After you finish eating, hurry up and wash your dishes. And don't eat anymore."

"Yes~" Yuri stopped after taking another piece of beef, then lazily stood up and washed the dishes in the sink next to her. After washing them, she left them there to dry.

A while later, Senju and Chito finished eating. They washed their dishes and put them aside to dry before putting them in their backpacks.

After finishing their meal, everyone felt languid, but no one was sleepy. This was probably because everyone had slept on the train. However, after resting his head on the table for a while, Senju started to feel uncomfortable.

After thinking for a moment, Senju set up the kotatsu. The two people next to him also crawled inside. After a while, Senju put the radio and camera on it and began to study them.

After fiddling with it for a while, the song came out again, but Senju felt a little confused. Why was this radio station only playing one song? Were there no other sounds?

Senju felt that her idea that there were humans around might be wrong, and there was no reason to only play one song, but she still had to go there and check.

"Senju, Senju, what's wrong?" Just as Senju was deep in thought, Chito's voice called out from the side. Looking up, he realized that both of them were looking at him, and he was confused. "What's wrong? What happened?"

“Senju, you should know how this machine works, right?” Chito patted the radio. “Could you explain it in more detail?”

"This, let me think, it seems to convert electromagnetic waves into sound waves. This is an antenna, used to receive electromagnetic wave signals, and then convert the signals into current to drive the speaker here to make a sound," Senju said, bringing over the radio and explaining it to the two of them. However, his knowledge was limited, and he only gave a general overview. As for how the conversion was done, he couldn't explain it clearly.

Although Senju's explanation was vague, Chito already understood the machine's principle: "So, there's somewhere around that's constantly emitting electromagnetic waves, right?"

“Yes, that’s right,” Senju nodded, then asked, “Senju, do you want to go take a look over there?”

"Hmm," Qianhu replied and began adjusting the antenna, the sound inside fluctuating in intensity. "That place should be on this floor; we have to go check it out."

“I see. I’d like to take a look too. The signal is strong when the machine is close to it, but weak when it’s far away. You can tell the direction by the strength of the sound,” Senju said after thinking for a moment, offering an idea that he himself thought was a bit far-fetched.

"Okay, let's do it this way. We'll go to the city tomorrow and collect some supplies while we're at it," Qianhu agreed, then turned off the radio and set it up.

"What exactly are those electromagnetic waves?" Yuri asked, leaning to the side. She was also curious. "You said light is one of them, right? Can that machine receive the sound of the sun?"

“That won’t work. Electromagnetic waves are different. Some have a fast frequency, and some have a slow frequency, just like this glass of water,” Senju looked at the glass next to him, where ripples appeared. “The force used is different, so the shape of the wave is also different.”

“I see,” Yuri stared for a while, then looked like she understood perfectly. “I still don’t understand. Senju’s explanation was too complicated.”

"I understand a little bit. It means that there is a difference between light and the signal received by the machine, even though they are both electromagnetic waves," Chito said, having understood some of what she was saying, but she still couldn't grasp the specific differences between the two.

Seeing the two of them lying there bored, Senju thought for a while, then took out his phone from the bed, put it on the table, and started playing music.

He didn't know how to use these phones at first, but after learning from Ishii for a whole night, he learned a little bit. Listening to the melodious songs playing, the three of them were somewhat captivated.

"This looks familiar, is it a radio too?" Yuri said, staring at her phone, completely forgetting that she had seen it before. "But the sound in it is really nice."

"I remember using this before. Can this make sounds?" Qianhu asked, somewhat puzzled. When he used it before, he only noticed that there were many books he didn't understand inside, and then he never used it again.

"Hmm, there's a lot of music stored here. I only learned it recently and haven't heard it yet," Senju said, listening as well. Although there were many unfamiliar words, it still sounded very nice.

However, after a melodious and cheerful song, a rock song suddenly started playing, its deafening sound startling everyone. The three of them almost jumped up.

He quickly turned off the sound and breathed a sigh of relief. Looking at the two people next to him, they were both startled.

"Was that music too? That scared me to death," Yuri patted herself, as if she hadn't completely recovered from the fright she'd just experienced. "Music really can be frightening."

"Hmm, this is really strange music. Or is it even music? It's so noisy," Chito said, looking indignant. You could tell from her expression that she didn't like this type of music.

"Ahem, I didn't expect there to be this kind of music in there. Do you guys still want to listen?" Senju skipped over the song and then asked the two of them, but Chito kept shaking his head, so Senju gave up.

A moment later, Yuri remembered the singing from earlier, "Actually, that one was pretty good too. It had a strange feel to it, and a certain rhythm."

“Even so, I still can’t accept it,” Chito said with a troubled look. “It seems there are many kinds of music.”

"Alright, let's not talk about what happened earlier," Senju picked up his phone, went to the side to brew a pot of tea, and everyone slowly drank it.

Chapter Ninety-Eight: Haircut

After taking a few sips of tea, Chito took out her camera, pulled up the photos, and started making notes in her diary. Yuri was also maintaining her gun as usual. Only Senju had nothing to do and was lying there staring blankly at her phone.

I don't know how much time passed, but the tea was all gone, Yuri had finished maintaining her rifle and was staring blankly at the radio while Qianhu was still writing and drawing beside her.

"Oh!" Yuri suddenly exclaimed, then grabbed the backpack on the side and started rummaging through it. The two people next to her were startled, wondering what Yuri had thought of.

Yuri took a thin rope out of her backpack, then took the radio and, after a few movements, tied the rope to the radio and hung it around her neck. "Done! Look, everyone!"

"Oh, so that's what it is," Qianhu sighed after looking at it. "I thought something had happened."

"Look, you two! I got one too!" Yuri shouted excitedly to the two of them, holding up the radio.

"What?" The two were a little confused.

“The machines, now everyone has one,” Yuri pointed to the camera in Chito’s hand and the cell phone in Chishou’s hand.

“Oh, so that’s what it is. Yuri really likes machines,” Senju said, realizing what was going on. “It’s so convenient to hang it around your neck. Give me some, I want to hang one around my neck too.”

“Okay, here you go,” Yuri said, handing Senju a piece of the remaining thin rope. However, after searching for a while, Senju realized that the phone was designed so well that there was nowhere to tie it, so she had to give up.

"Ah~" Chito stretched and closed the diary. "That's all for today."

"Xiaoqian, are you finished writing?" Yuri next to her looked up from the table, her face showing signs of sleepiness.

"Okay, I'm done writing. Let's rest now," Chito said, putting the diary into her backpack. Yuri, who was beside her, slowly climbed into bed, casually took off her clothes, and crawled under the covers.

Senju, who was sitting next to him, was also a little sleepy. While he was daydreaming, he couldn't help but fall into a dream. Fortunately, the sudden movement of the two people next to him woke him up. Looking at his situation, he realized he was almost crawling under the table. He quickly came out and went back to bed to sleep.

After glancing at the two, Qianhu also got into bed. Although the three of them had slept for a while, they were all sleepy again. After lying in bed for a while, the surroundings became quiet, and all three of them fell asleep.

Nothing happened overnight. After everyone woke up in the morning, they ate some food, packed their things, and then the three of them planned to leave the platform by car and explore the city.

After leaving the hut, the surroundings had brightened, but the sun was still not visible, probably because it was blocked by the city above. After the three of them sighed for a while, Chito adjusted the car's direction, while Senju put away the hut and its base.

After putting their backpacks on the car, the three of them went down the steps to the ground outside.

Once on the ground, I found that the scene was much the same as before: empty everywhere, with only discarded parts scattered around.

Sento started wandering around aimlessly. Senju had no idea where she was going, but she was probably looking for some supplies.

Along the way, the two in the back kept looking at the surrounding buildings. Yuri often took a few photos, and sometimes Chito would stop the car and the three of them would go to look for things in the buildings on the side. However, after searching several places without finding anything, Chito stopped searching for supplies and continued walking forward along the road.

After walking for an unknown amount of time, the surrounding area turned into ruins. There must have been a war here in the past, as there were shell casings and collapsed buildings everywhere.

Qianhu drove slowly, and abandoned weapons began to appear around them. After a while, a large crater appeared ahead, surrounded by many cannons, and the sound of water could be heard from inside.

"Oops, my hair is poking my eye," Chito suddenly shook his head and parked the car next to the ditch.

"Are you alright?" Yuri asked, tugging at her own hair. "Chihiro, you should get it cut."

"..." Senju also tugged at her hair in front of her forehead, realizing it was getting a bit long. If she didn't get a haircut soon, she'd end up like those blind characters in the game.

"Looks like I need to get a haircut too," I thought.

“Okay, everyone, let’s get our hair cut here,” Chito decided. She drove the car to a spot next to a steel part and stopped. She then rummaged through her backpack, and the two people next to her were watching. Then she took out a dagger.

"Chihiro, what are you doing with that?" Chihiro asked, puzzled. Was she going to cut her hair with a knife?

“Use this to cut your hair,” Chito said, and tried cutting his own hair with the dagger. “Like this, Chito, would you like to try it?”

"No, no, no, you use scissors to cut hair," Senju said, taking out a pair of scissors and making a few snips on her head. "Like this."

“Really? It looks very convenient,” Chito took the scissors, tried them a few times, and found them much more convenient than a dagger. “Let’s use these.”

After preparing the tools, the three sat down on the steel table next to them and began to get haircuts. Seeing Yuri's eager look on the side, Chito handed the scissors back to Senju, "Senju, can you cut my hair?"

"Sigh, but I want to try it," Yuri said somewhat discontentedly, wanting to experience what it's like to get a haircut.

"Be quiet, it'll be your turn soon," Qianhu said, then took off his helmet and coat, sat on the counter, and waited for his haircut.

Senju held the scissors with some difficulty, but looking at Yuri next to her and thinking about Yuri's usual behavior, she felt that Yuri was a bit unreliable.

After thinking for a moment, Senju had no choice but to follow the example of the barbers she had seen before. She pinched the hair on Chito’s forehead with her fingers and then cut it short with scissors. However, Senju did not dare to cut too much and made adjustments little by little.

After throwing the cut hair aside, and seeing that it had turned into something else, Senju focused intently on cutting the hair, not daring to be distracted in the slightest. Chito also sat there quietly.

"Phew, that's enough," Senju thought, and stopped. Although not much time had passed, Senju felt very tired. "Senju, you don't need to cut the back of your hair, right?"

“Hmm, I can handle the rest,” Qianhu grabbed a strand of hair from her forehead, pulled the rest of her hair to the front, and took the scissors to cut off a section. “That will do.”

Chapter Ninety-Nine: War and Scenery

After tidying her hair, Chito put on her coat and stood up, ready to cut Senju and Yuri's hair.

“Chihiro,” Yuri, sitting to the side, looked at Chihiro with adorable eyes, hoping that she would cut her hair. Judging from her appearance, she had already taken off her coat and helmet and was ready.

“Wait a moment, Yuri,” Chito said after glancing at Yuri, “cut Senju’s hair first.”

"Sigh~" Yuri was a little disappointed. She picked up the radio and started fiddling with it. Senju also took off his helmet and sat down next to her, waiting for Sengo to make a move.

"What's wrong?" Senju felt it was strange that Sento hadn't made a move for so long.

"Okay, almost done," Qianhu said and started working, as if he had just been studying how to work on the short-haired man. "Why do you guys keep your hair so short?"

“Even if you say that, I still think short hair is better,” Senju didn’t know how to answer. “Maybe that’s the difference between men and women, but people used to have long hair.”

“Oh, really?” Chito said, somewhat surprised. “Senju knows a lot.”

"Haha, I know a lot," Senju said with a hint of pride, but he still managed to stay still.

"Yes, yes," Qianhu stopped after a while, "It's all done, You, it's your turn."

"Great!" Yuri cheered, and Senju ran to the side to brush the stray hairs off his head. At that moment, he wished he had a comb.

When Senju ran back, she saw that Chito was already there trimming Yuri's hair at the back, but judging from Yuri's appearance, her hairstyle didn't seem to have changed much.

However, she seemed to be thoroughly enjoying herself, saying, "What a comfortable day."

After speaking, Yuri looked around. Water was flowing along the edge of the pit, and piles of discarded weapons were placed on platforms of varying levels below.

"...Beautiful scenery."

Then she looked at the radio in her arms and nodded, touched.

"And nice music."

"It didn't make a sound at all," Qianhu complained from behind, while Yuri looked up and said, "I'm not sure about the weather."

After all, everyone's view is blocked by the layer above, so they can't see the sky and can only see a big hole in the bottom plate.
