While Senju was lost in thought, Ishii asked, "Have you made any new discoveries over there?"
"Yes, we found an animal called a cow and collected some milk and beef."
Chapter Sixty-Eight: Scenes of Hell
"A cow? What does it look like?" Ishii asked curiously, wondering if Senju's description matched what he knew.
"Appearance... um, four legs, covered in hair, and..." Senju couldn't think of a better way to describe it.
"Why don't you just take a picture?" Ishii didn't know what to say about Senju's slowness, but her words woke Senju up. It was that simple.
"Hmm, how come I didn't think of that? Wait a moment," Senju said before rushing back to the portal.
After entering the portal, Senju took out the camera he had left inside and started taking pictures of the surroundings. Strange rocks, bright lava, and a herd of cattle running from one side of the portal to the other? Senju then realized that a cow had passed through the portal's light screen, but it hadn't disappeared; it was still in Hell.
However, seeing the bull pass through the light barrier, Senju felt he needed to protect the portal to prevent himself from being hit by it after exiting. Although it wouldn't cause any harm, it would be quite frightening. So he built a small iron hut at the portal to protect it.
Then he removed the hell rocks that were originally meant to block the cattle on the road, and many cattle ran out of them. He was very happy to see this and hoped that one day he could see cattle in other parts of hell.
After taking some more photos, Senju returned to the food production facility and handed the camera to Ishii, saying, "These are the photos from over there. Take a look."
“Hmm,” Ishii said after looking at it for a while, feeling that the style of Hell was really strange. “These are really strange. Maybe this is the real Hell. There is blood everywhere, lava, and demons everywhere.”
"No, no, no, there is lava, but the ground is a dark red rock, not blood, and these are cows, not demons."
“Are these square things cows? It seems there are some problems with the book,” Ishii pondered.
“Those are square oxen, and these were originally round oxen,” Qian Shou had no choice but to give them a random name to avoid making her start to doubt her life.
Ishii suddenly realized, "Oh, these are oxen. I didn't know there was such an animal."
"...Would you like to try the beef and milk?" After a moment of silence, Senju decided it was best not to continue the discussion.
"Hmm, I was just thinking of getting something to drink. It's been so long since I've had milk."
Senju took out a cup filled with milk and handed it to her, saying, "I've collected a lot; I'll give you two buckets later."
“Hmm,” Ishii said, slowly drinking his milk, while Senju took out a piece of beef jerky and started eating.
After a while, the two looked up at each other. Senju felt that he had been here long enough, but after going to Hell, time became disordered, and he didn't know how much time had passed.
“Well, let’s go back. Everything here has been taken care of, hasn’t it?” Ishii spoke first, suggesting that everyone go back.
"Okay, I wonder how their transformation is going. Let's go back now."
"What should we do with this stone door? Leave it here?"
"Well, let's leave it here. We don't need any more obsidian anyway, so let's just leave it here as an exit."
As they talked, the two left and went outside. Senju looked at the sun, which was already setting. "It's already afternoon. Time flies."
"Hmm, 3:20," Ishii took out his phone and checked it. Senju felt stupid after seeing it, realizing he had forgotten the time was on the screen.
Senju decided to go back and learn how to adjust the time on the screen to be accurate, so that she wouldn't keep thinking that the time on the screen was inaccurate.
The two then took a helicopter back to the base. After getting off, Senju harvested the ripe wheat in the field and replanted it. After cutting down the tree, he planted another one, but Senju decided to leave this tree here as a memento.
After watching for a while, Ishii returned to the base with the completed Senju. When they went inside, they saw that the container house seemed to be finished, and Senju and Yuri were sitting and resting nearby.
"Is it finished? How is it?" Senju asked the two people who were slumped over the table.
"Well, it's mostly done. Senju, go in and take a look," Sento said lazily, pointing to the container. Senju found a door where she pointed, pushed it hard but it didn't open. She had to pull it to the side to open it.
When Senju went inside, she found it was a bit dark, but Yuri ran over and said, "Senju, there's a light inside. You can use it by pressing a lever here."
Senju looked in the direction Yuri pointed. There were two lights hanging on the wall, surrounded by wires and with a small gap in the middle. After Senju put the lever on, she turned on the lights and saw that everything inside had been soldered.
At one end were two beds side by side with a gap in between; opposite the door was a table with drawers underneath for storage, and several stools nearby; further on was a simple kitchen setup with a water tank on top and a sink below.
On one side of the sink, there is an empty shelf. Below it is the Hell Rock that Senju mentioned, and on top is a stove and a large square pot. At the other end, there is a bathtub with a curtain next to it, but it is not drawn at the moment.
On one side of the door was a shelf, which was empty and probably used to store some things.
It's an item, but it's been wiped very clean.
After reading it, Senju took out a pile of blankets and spread them on the bed. Then he put some bread, beef jerky, and some blueprints on the shelf.
But just as he was praising how well he had done, Yuri ran to the shelf, picked up a piece of beef jerky, thought for a moment, and then swallowed it in one gulp. "Mmm, delicious! What's this?"
"This is meat; we just found quite a bit."
"Meat? It's really delicious. Let Chiyo try some too," Yuri said, then grabbed a handful of beef jerky and ran out. Chiyo had no choice but to put some more on the box, along with some taro, and then placed some hell rock under the metal box.
When Senju came out, the three of them were eating beef jerky and chatting. Ishii showed the two of them the photos that Senju had taken, which amazed them. However, Yuri wanted to catch these 'square bulls' to roast and eat, while Chito didn't want to go to such a strange place.
Seeing that the three were chatting happily, Thousand Hands went to Hell through the portal there, protected the portal there with cobblestone and hell bricks, and then collected some lava to make enough obsidian.
After Thousand Hands emerged, he began crafting obsidian outside, then went to Hell to collect lava. After several trips, Thousand Hands obtained fifty pieces of obsidian before ending the journey.
Looking at the sky outside, it was already evening, so Senju went back to prepare dinner. Although they had already eaten, Yuri was still hungry.
Chapter Sixty-Nine: The Farewell Banquet
However, when Senju returned to the base, she saw them cooking taro on an electric stove. Yuri was grabbing some beef jerky to put in, but Chito stopped her.
"Why not add some meat? It would taste really good if we cooked it together," Yuri said, eager to try it. Chito, on the other hand, was trying to dissuade her with a headache. "Yuri, it's not about whether it tastes good or not. Don't just add things randomly."
Then she saw Senju coming over and drew Yuri's attention to him. "Look, Senju is back. He must know other ways to cook this meat."
"really?"
“Of course, this meat was found by Senju.” Sento said with a serious expression.
So when Senju came over, Yuri asked, "Senju, this meat is really delicious. Are there any other ways to cook it?"
"Hmm, any other way to eat it?" Senju thought for a moment, then looked at the taro in the pot, and the more she looked at it, the more it resembled potatoes. "Ah, I've got it. Beef stew with taro, that would be delicious."
"Really?" Yuri drooled, while Chito next to her felt a headache coming on. Why did it turn into this again? No, she had to change the subject.
"Senju, what were you doing running around like that just now?"
"Yes, I went to Hell to get some materials, and then I made some stones outside to build a portal."
"Really? But hell, huh? That's really strange. What are these bright things?" Qianhu took out his camera and pointed to a picture of lava.
"This is magma, a specialty of Hell, and it's a very dangerous thing," Thousand Hands originally wanted to give a scientific explanation, but since this magma was inherently unscientific, he decided to let everyone see for themselves. "By the way, let me show you some."
Thousand Hands built a recess in the hall, then went to Hell to collect several buckets of lava, and put them inside. As the lava was poured in, a wave of heat rushed out.
"Everyone be careful, the temperature here is very high." Senju took out a piece of scrap and threw it on the surface. After a flash of sparks, the scrap was completely burned.
"Yes, I'll be careful," Chito carefully examined the bright mass of lava, but after a while, she used it as a stove. "Ah, it's so warm, just like a stove."
“Really? It’s so hot, we can grill something to eat,” Yuri said. She found an iron rod next to her, put the beef jerky on it and started grilling it. She also put a few uncooked taro aside to prepare.
"Everyone, the taro is cooked!" Ishii's words made everyone turn around. Yuri ran over with a half-cooked beef jerky in her hand. After Senju installed an iron railing on the lava for protection, she followed.
"Yes, thank you all for your help these past few days. You've done so much for me, so everyone can have two taro," Ishii added after taking the pot off the table. "Ah, one is enough for Yuri."
"Why? I could finish two of them," Yuri said, eating beef while staring at the taro.
"No, no, no, two of them can't finish this. We've already eaten some things," Chito complained, then looked at Ishii with concern. "Ishii, is this really okay? Although there's still a lot of taro left."
“No problem, just treat it as a farewell banquet,” Ishii said calmly. “Besides, these taro were found in your hut.”
"..."
Chito took a big bite of the taro in her hand, but what she was thinking was that she should teach Yuri a lesson.
"Cheers!" The four of them clinked their glasses together again, but this time it wasn't water, it was milk.
"Delicious!"
"Hmm, a strange taste."
The group ate taro, drank milk, and made a ruckus for a while before the banquet finally came to an end.
After the banquet, Chito and Yuri went to take a bath; they planned to spend the evening in the newly built small...
Go inside and sleep, then see if there are any problems.
"I never imagined you could do this," Ishii said. After watching the two of them go to take a shower, he started chatting with Senju. Judging from her calm demeanor, it seemed that the shock of the past few days had gradually subsided.
"I didn't expect this either. I guess luck is on our side, and you've been a great help too."
“Luck? Meeting you guys is my luck,” Ishii said in a low voice, then looked up at Senju. “It’s late, let’s get ready to sleep.”
“Well, I’ll give you some things,” the two of them said, ignoring the fact that there was another room, and naturally entered the small cabin where they had been resting for the past few days.
After Senju entered the house, he placed a pre-made box to one side, then put two buckets of milk and two sets of beef inside. He turned around to say a few words, but Ishii hugged him from behind.
Hearing the soft sobbing coming from behind, Senju's initially agitated heart gradually calmed down. "It's alright, we'll be back to find you soon. Just wait for us here."
"Really? I'll be here waiting for you all," Ishii said after crying for a while. Then he let go of Senju, wiped away his tears, and returned to his usual self. "I'm sorry for making you see me like this."
"Ah, it's alright," Senju said after a moment of stunned silence, then pointed to the box. "By the way, there are many things here. See if you can open it."
Ishii glanced at Senju, then went over and opened the box. She saw many empty spaces inside, and in some of them were shrunken objects. "What's this?"
"This is a storage box. You can shrink things and put them into the compartments, but each compartment can hold a maximum of 64 of the same item, like this," Senju put more than a hundred taro into it, and there were two more compartments of shrunken taro. "Tap on an item to take it out."
After Senju demonstrated it to her for a while, Ishii also learned how to use it. With this, food storage would become much more convenient in the future. So Ishii asked Senju to move all the taro from the warehouse over.
Senju had no choice but to run to the warehouse and transfer the taro there to the boxes. After spending some time, it was done. Ishii had disappeared. At this time, Chito and Yuri had finished taking a bath and then happily entered the newly built hut to prepare for bed.
Senju looked at himself. He had been running around all day and was quite dirty, so he decided to take a shower. When he entered the bathhouse, he found that the lights were still on.
"What two careless fellows," Senju muttered before going inside and seeing Ishii taking a shower.
"..." Senju didn't know how to react. "Oh, you're taking a bath too."
Chapter Seventy: Farewell
"Okay, wait a moment, I'll be done showering soon," Ishii said, ignoring Senju beside him. After showering for a while, he entered the bath.
"..." Senju, who was standing to the side, found himself much calmer after surviving in this post-apocalyptic world for so long. He was only gratified to have such a beautiful woman in front of him. After thinking about all sorts of things for a while, he also started taking a shower.
"Chito and the others went to sleep in the newly built cabin," Senju said, realizing as soon as she spoke that something seemed off; where had the conversation gone?
"Yes, they borrowed some blankets from me in the afternoon."
"A blanket? Could it be? But do you have enough blankets?"
"That's enough. I don't use the blanket on that bed very often, so I'll give it to Chitoge and the others. Besides, there are some stored bedding in the warehouse; we can just air it out and use it."
"Oh, is that so?" Senju was a little speechless. She had already put all the blankets up, but they still took the blankets she had been sleeping on for the past few days.
“So, you should rest with me today,” Ishii said. Senju realized that it would be better to rest with Ishii than to suffer in the cold outside, and she could also ask him some questions.
