Chapter 50 The Pokémon Driving

Heath stared blankly at the lucky egg in front of him, which was sitting in the driver's seat, holding the steering wheel, looking nervous.

Moreover, the car it was driving was rushing towards Heath at an extremely high speed. Heath even began to suspect that this lucky egg was deliberately trying to run him over and kill him, so as to use its superb healing skills.

As the Happy Egg drew ever closer, and with Miss Joy sitting beside it looking terrified, Heath recognized Miss Joy's identity.

"Hopefully this car has an automatic obstacle avoidance system?" Heath sighed. He couldn't drive either; what could he do?

Fortunately, the mobile food truck's self-driving system was quite good, and it easily avoided the Lucky Eggs' charge, allowing Heath to breathe a sigh of relief. Heath didn't want to test whether his truck was tough enough.

"It's here again!" Soroya screamed. Heath instinctively turned around and glanced back; it was the same familiar scene.

The Lucky Egg's car, which it somehow managed to control, spun around and charged at Heath again. If Miss Joy hadn't screamed and turned pale, Heath would have even wondered if she had a grudge against this Lucky Egg.

"Joey, you and Happy Egg failed this test. How can you drive an ambulance like this?" A familiar voice rang out, and Heath's face turned pale. It was Officer Jenny's voice.

Fortunately, Officer Jenny's appearance stopped the Lucky Egg from rushing towards Heath, and Heath's car also stopped. Heath then realized that she had arrived at the driving school.

"I'm so sorry... Eh? Is that Heath?" Joyce climbed out of the car with a pale face and ran to Heath, apologizing repeatedly. Only when she saw that it was Heath did she show a surprised expression.

“Miss Joy…you are really…amazing.” Heath didn’t know what to say. It was the first time in his life that he had been chased by a Pokémon in a car. This experience was too exciting.

"Oh dear~ Little Heath, are you disappointed? If I had known, I would have helped you out. I let you get hit by the car and hurt that spot, so you could have let Xue use her little hands to help you~" Officer Shalana smiled and hugged Heath's neck.

Heath froze. This old scoundrel was definitely doing it on purpose! Sure enough, she started driving as soon as she got out of the car, and why was she even accelerating?

"Heath, where are you hurt?" Joyce clearly didn't understand Officer Jenny's vulgar language, and she looked at Heath with concern.

Heath quickly waved his hand. Joey Xue was a very simple person, but her medical skills were superb. She was a well-known medical ace in Evergreen City, and her Lucky Eggs were also very powerful.

There have even been news reports of Nurse Joy and Blissey working together to heal a Pokémon that had been accidentally hit by a train, even though that Pokémon was initially declared to have a very high probability of dying.

However, Heath has now discovered that Miss Joyce and her Lucky Eggs also have something they can't do: drive.

Combining what Officer Jenny had just said, Heath understood why Joyce and Lucky Egg were there; they were planning to drive the ambulance themselves.

"Sister Ling! Sister Feng asked me to come here to learn how to drive and take my driving test. Could you please take me there?" Heath smiled at Jun Sha Ling, blocking her from driving. Jun Sha Ling immediately understood what Heath meant.

"Hmph, you little tattletale, one day I'll eat you alive!" Jun Shaling complained indignantly, but thinking of the imposing Jun Shafeng, she couldn't help but swallow hard.

After saying goodbye to the embarrassed Joyce, Heath followed Officer Jenny to the driving school. It has to be said that the driving school in Evergreen City is quite large, and there are many students. In addition to some humans, there are also Pokémon.

Chansey, Machamp, Kadabra, and other Pokémon are also learning diligently inside, but Heath thinks it's quite normal for Pokémon to learn to drive.

Chansey are basically monopolized by the Joy family, so these Chansey are most likely here to learn how to drive an ambulance, while Machamp who came to learn to drive is here to serve as a moving company driver, doing both moving and driving.

As for Kadira...

Heath thinks it's most likely out of curiosity and excitement about learning new knowledge. For these psychic Pokémon, new knowledge is always something they yearn for, which is why Kadabra is such a versatile Pokémon.

Some Yundira even actually become taxi drivers, and they drive very steadily. Heath knows the most amazing one is Alakazam, an Alakazam who is a captain for Kanto Airlines. He has never had an accident and drives very steadily.

Some of the Hudi even went on to become directors, and their movies and TV series have won major awards in the Kanto region, making those amateur directors look rather pathetic.

“When learning to drive, you generally need to pay attention to the size of the headlights and whether the exhaust pipe is lubricated…” Watching Officer Shalana unconsciously start driving, Heath silently took out his phone; he was going to tattle on Sister Feng.

"No! I was wrong!" Officer Jenny immediately covered Heath's phone and then came closer with a smile.

"Little Heath~ If you're willing, I'll help you grow up~" Officer Jenny put her mouth close to Heath's ear and said this in a voice that would make anyone shudder.

"You've got some nerve, Aya." A cold voice rang out, and Aya froze instantly. She stood up stiffly, turned around stiffly, and saw Aya standing with her arms crossed.

Jun Shafeng was looking at Jun Shaling with a cold gaze that could make someone want to wear a down jacket even on a hot day, and Jun Shaling broke out in a cold sweat.

"Run five laps around the driving school!" Jun Shafeng waved her hand, and Jun Shaling immediately rushed out, running away with a resentful look on her face.

Heath looked at Officer Jenny's retreating figure with a mix of amusement and exasperation. This girl was really too blatant. Luckily, Sister Feng was here, otherwise, who knows what Heath would have gone through.

"Hmph, bad woman, trying to steal from me... no, this woman is really bad." Sororia leaned on Hiss's shoulder, glaring resentfully at Officer Jenny's retreating figure.

From the very beginning, Zoroia had been constantly muttering in Heath's mind that Officer Jenny was a bad woman, to the point that Heath's head was practically calloused from hearing it.

Fortunately, Heath's brain doesn't have this function either.

"Come on, Heath, I'll take you to the classroom for the theory test. Study hard and don't cheat. Of course, I believe you won't cheat." Officer Jenny smiled at Heath and then waved.

Heath laughed. Sister Feng really knows me well.

Chapter 51 Subject 1

What do you usually learn when you take a driving test? Heath had never really thought about this before, but after arriving at the driving school in Evergreen City, Heath realized that the driving test in this world seemed a bit familiar.

The first thing Heath has to learn is the theory test, which involves learning various patterns and driving knowledge. However, since this is the world of Pokémon, some of the patterns and knowledge have undergone some strange changes.

"What kind of questions are these..." Heath looked at the textbook he had received, somewhat amused and exasperated. There was a picture on it, a circular sign with a prohibition sign.

Everything was normal when he arrived here, but when he saw the prohibition symbol covering the image, Heath was a little confused. It was the shape of a car, seemingly flying.

Combining the two images, Heath thought it might mean that cars are prohibited from flying in this area?

But after looking at the options, Heath realized that his thinking seemed a little off.

[Single Choice Question: What does this symbol (as shown in the image) mean?]

[A: Flying cars are prohibited in this area]

[B: Flying-type Pokémon are prohibited from carrying vehicles while flying.]

[C: Flying techniques are prohibited inside vehicles]

[D: Driving while flying is prohibited]

"...Could it be B?" Heath thought for a moment and felt that this was the most likely possibility. He turned to the next page and saw that it was indeed the answer.

Heath initially thought the question was already outrageous, since who would have thought that a Flying-type Pokémon could carry a car in flight? The requirements for the Flying-type Pokémon were just too high. But when he saw the next case study question, Heath was even more dumbfounded.

It's still a pattern, except that it features a Slowpoke making an X shape with its hand, and there are no other patterns.

And its options are also very strange.

[Single Choice Question: What does this symbol (as shown in the image) mean?]

[A: Please don't let Slowpoke drive.]

【B: Slow down in the area where Slowpoke is crossing】

[C: Slowpoke wants to sing "Dame Dame" to you]

[D: Slowpoke checkpoint, please slow down]

Heath covered her face. What kind of bizarre questions are these?! Can't we talk about basic principles?! Why do we have to do picture comprehension questions when learning to drive?

"It should be B, right? After all, Slowpoke can't drive, let alone set up a checkpoint." Heath rubbed his face, thinking this was the most likely possibility, but when he saw the answer, he was completely dumbfounded.

The answer was actually A!

Heath really wanted to grab the teacher who set the question by the collar and ask, "What kind of city and what kind of league would allow a Slowpoke to get on the bus and drive?" Why not say Psyduck is driving?

But then Hiss saw that in the explanation of the problem, there was actually a Psyduck making an X-shaped hand gesture.

"So there really are Psyducks driving cars!" Heath was so frustrated he almost scratched his head. He finally realized that driver's licenses in the Pokémon world were ridiculously difficult.

Then Heath encountered all sorts of strange and bizarre problems. A whole bunch of bizarre questions made Heath's scalp tingle and he felt terrible. However, apart from those related to Pokémon, the other questions were still within the realm of normal human understanding.

Even so, Heath felt that if he wanted to finish reading this huge book on the theory test, he would probably have to read until tomorrow; he definitely couldn't finish it today.

Moreover, it must be said that sitting in the classroom and studying seriously for the first time in a long time brought Heath back to the past, to the self who was tortured in junior and senior high school, when there was no reduction in workload and holiday homework was weighed by the pound.

"This stuff is so easy to fall asleep looking at," Heath yawned. He felt like he was a terrible student; he just wanted to sleep as soon as he looked at a textbook, and he had absolutely no learning efficiency.

Heath stretched. He was sitting in a classroom surrounded by people who had come to take their driving test, including humans and Pokémon. However, one of the Kadabra caught Heath's attention.

It's not surprising that Kadabra is here; in fact, it's not surprising that Kadabra appears anywhere, given that this Pokémon has a special curiosity about knowledge.

There are even rumors that the research department of the Silph Corporation is staffed with Aladdin researchers, which is why their technology is so extraordinary.

Heath felt that even if he saw Kadabra and Alakazam in some laboratory in the future, he wouldn't have much of a reaction. What did, however, make Heath curious about Kadabra's learning methods.

This textbook has over 300 pages in total. It cannot be taken away and can only be studied in the classroom. If you want to take it with you, you have to buy it. One book costs 523 Alliance Coins, which is quite expensive.

However, Yunjira's learning method was very unique. It quickly flipped through the book in its hands, page by page. If Heath hadn't known it was Yunjira reading, he would have thought it was some kind of study class.

After all, quantum speed reading classes were quite popular in his previous life, and a group of people went to pay the "intelligence tax," which made Heath deeply realize the necessity of universal compulsory education.

But what if the target were Kadira...?

Hiss thinks this is quite likely, after all, Kadabra is a very intelligent Pokémon.

"Is there something you need, human?" Just as Hiss was watching Yunjira flip through the book with curiosity, Yunjira turned around and asked Hiss.

Heath waved his hand awkwardly. He couldn't very well say that he found the learning process a bit boring and was planning to see how Yundira studied, just to relieve his boredom.

"You're here to take your driver's license test too, right? Want to learn with me? I've come up with a learning method that might be helpful," the Kadabra said enthusiastically.

Heath paused for a moment, then moved over slightly and sat opposite Yunjira. He was genuinely curious about Yunjira's learning methods.

Yundira didn't react much to Heath's approach, but simply shared its learning methods with Heath with a smile.

"...This learning method might not be very effective, I'm really sorry." Looking at Yongjira's humble appearance, Heath didn't know what to say.

Yunjira's learning method is very effective and can be used by humans. Heath found that after mastering it, his memorization speed increased significantly. However, Yunjira still found this method to be ineffective.

Heath suddenly understood why some people say that excessive humility can make people think you're showing off. Looking at Yunjira in front of him, who really didn't seem right, Heath felt like he was looking at a show-off.

Chapter 52 Simple and Quick Ways to Fill Your Stomach

"Thank you, my name is Heath, I'm a chef. What would you like to eat?" Although Heath felt that Yungira was showing off, she still responded with a smile to his kindness.

"Hmm? A chef? Can you teach me how to cook a dish?" Yungira's interest was instantly piqued, and its intelligent eyes seemed to brighten even more.

Hiss nodded. He had nothing else to do anyway, and teaching a smart Pokémon like Kadabra how to cook would be quite interesting.

Heath took out his old phone and glanced at it. It was almost time to go home and rest. He still had to prepare dinner for the Officers today.

"Let's go then, my food cart is outside." Heath led Yungira out of the classroom, chatting and laughing.

In fact, in the world of Pokémon, it is not uncommon for people to befriend Pokémon; in fact, it is a common phenomenon. Therefore, the people in the driving school did not show any unusual reaction to the fact that Cicey and Kadabra were chatting and laughing together.

“Your food cart… looks amazing.” Yungira looked at Heath’s food cart in surprise; it had never seen such a unique vehicle before.

“That’s right, this is the top prize from the Siluf Corporation. I was just lucky to win it.” Heath smiled, then opened the door and led Yungira inside.
