In Night City, death is commonplace.
Even V, the protagonist of Cyberpunk 2077, could not escape death.
Experienced gamers felt a lump in their throat.
I feel a little uncomfortable.
But everything seemed so reasonable.
If possible, veteran gamers really don't want the future world to turn out like this.
Otherwise, that would be too cruel for ordinary people.
In that world, ordinary people would probably just be cogs in a machine, with no ability to resist.
In today's world, people can at least still have some freedom of their own.
At least I can still play games at home, do odd jobs occasionally to survive, and do what I like.
But in the cyberpunk 2077 universe, his daily survival might be a problem.
The animated protagonist David and his mother are the best example of this.
Even with all their might, they could only barely survive in Night City, while desperately hoping to gain even the slightest chance to become a high-ranking figure.
However, according to experienced players, even if David's mother did everything she could to send him to a prestigious school, it would probably be difficult for him to actually reach a high-level position in a large company.
At best, they can only be low-level employees struggling to make ends meet, barely surviving.
At the end of the first episode, the protagonist finally erupts, completing the first transformation of his personality.
He wanted to become stronger, and since the ordinary path was not working, he would find another way.
He wants to become stronger physically.
The first thing to do is to install a powerful prosthetic body that his mother secretly took into his body.
As the first episode ended, the veteran player suddenly realized that he had forgotten to drink cola and eat potato chips in the second half.
It's clear that I've been completely drawn into the second half of the first episode.
At least from the first episode, the animation is indeed very well done.
Moreover, the fight scene at the very beginning of the first episode was also very cool; such cool special effects scenes must have required a considerable investment of money to achieve.
It seems that the production cost is not quite in line with my initial estimate of a low-budget production.
"Releasing the entire series at once is really awesome. It feels so good not to have to watch it all the time."
Experienced players, click to enter the next episode.
The following episodes depict the protagonist becoming a member of a mercenary team and meeting a super cool-looking girl named Lucy.
Experienced gamers fell in love with Lucy at first sight.
His white hair and indifferent expression made him seem indifferent to everything.
That really hit him hard.
In the animation, the two naturally become a couple as the story progresses. What surprised veteran players was that there was another very likable character in the animation.
The character is named Rebecca. She is a girl who looks very small and cute, but she is also extremely violent. This contrast is very appealing.
And this girl is very kind to the protagonist.
However, in an accident in the animation, the girl's brother suddenly died because he encountered a cyber lunatic urinating in the street, and was then shot in the head without warning.
When the animation reached that point, even veteran gamers were startled. The unexpected events in the animation were truly without warning, and death was no exception.
Just like the protagonist David's mother.
This further reinforced the veteran players' belief in the city's cruelty.
Death is a common occurrence.
He couldn't help but feel grateful that he lived in a peaceful era, unlike the despair depicted in the cyberpunk 2077 universe.
However, this city also has its charming aspects.
One of the most fascinating aspects is becoming a big shot in Night City.
Even if being a big shot only lasts for a few minutes, it seems worth it.
Just like Jack...
Ugh, just thinking about Jack makes this veteran gamer sad again.
There are many Jack-related storylines in the game, all designed to help players develop a relationship with Jack.
Then, when players are most caught off guard, Jack's death is arranged, causing a dramatic emotional fluctuation in the players.
Even now, veteran players still feel unsatisfied.
Jack's death was so undeserved!
Chapter 1084 What an amazing animated film!
In the animation, there are two key climaxes, one of which is the death of the mercenary leader.
That was the middle stage of the animated story.
The story begins when the protagonist's mercenary group accepts a new mission: to extract data from the brain of a high-ranking member of the Arasaka Group.
The company that issued this mission was Military Technology, a rival of the Arasaka Group. They had learned that the Arasaka Group seemed to be conducting research on some kind of powerful weapon, and they wanted to find out what this technology was all about.
The protagonist's mercenary group accepted the mission and successfully captured a high-ranking member of the Arasaka Group.
However, at this moment, the mercenary leader seemed somewhat dazed.
Sensitive, seasoned gamers have already realized this is a sign of turning into cyber lunatics.
Damn it, this animation is going to be angsty!
Experienced gamers would want to turn off the animation immediately upon seeing this scene.
But... I really want to keep watching.
Because this animation is really quite good.
The visuals are excellent, and the action effects and other aspects are also of high quality.
This is a rare and excellent animated work in recent years.
It would be a real shame to miss out on a great animation just because you don't want to accept a certain plot point.
Never mind, let's keep watching.
As expected, the mercenary leader eventually turned into a cyber madman and, in his madness, watched his beloved woman die.
This became the final straw that broke the camel's back for the mercenary leader.
When the male protagonist arrived at the scene, he could only watch helplessly as the mercenary leader went mad.
But before the final madness arrived, the mercenary leader used his last bit of rationality to get the protagonist to leave.
"David, you must live."
"Now, run."
Just as the mercenary leader finished speaking, the terrorist mobile team rushed in from outside. The mercenary leader immediately opened fire and detonated the pre-prepared explosives, killing everyone in the entire building.
Meanwhile, the protagonist David escapes quickly using his special prosthetic body. He clings tightly to one of the mercenary leader's mechanical arms, his eyes vacant, and he doesn't respond to Lucy's calls.
From this point on, the story moves to the next scene, where the protagonist undergoes his second emotional shift.
"Shinji Asami is really amazing; he made such a great story."
This animation is simply a classic example of game-to-anime adaptation.
The scene just now has elevated the overall quality of this story to a whole new level.
Animated films are inherently of a slightly lower standard than regular films and television dramas, a fact that most people must acknowledge.
However, the overall style and story content of this animated film are in no way inferior to those well-known film and television works.
It's quite remarkable that the animation has reached this level.
The key point in the middle of the story is incredibly powerful, comparable to the part where Jack dies while he's playing Cyberpunk 2077.
They all lay a very good foundation, cultivate the relationship between the audience and the players, and then deliver a ruthless blow to wipe out all the characters.
Although the story is tragic, it makes you want to keep reading.
The feeling of being tortured to the point of near death is truly captivating.
Then, the story of the animation enters a period of calm transition.
The previous mercenary leader is dead, but some of his men are still alive. David seems to intend to inherit the will of this mercenary leader, become the new mercenary leader, and be fitted with the mechanical arm of the former mercenary leader to fight for the future of this mercenary force.
Meanwhile, David is actually living with Lucy, and the two are clearly in a very close relationship, which can offer some comfort to the audience.
At least the people you love most are still here, so it's not so terrible.
However, the second half of the story unfolds at a significantly faster pace than the first half.
Before the audience could recover from the previous climax, David began to show signs of a mental breakdown during a mission.
Players who have played Cyberpunk 2077 will obviously understand what will happen next.
It seems likely that the protagonist, David, will suffer the same fate as the previous mercenary leader.
He became a cyber madman, eventually going completely insane until his death.
But the protagonist still has his own halo.
Even in the worst-case scenario, David can still unleash a more intense display of fireworks than that mercenary leader.
The most exciting part of the story unfolds at this moment, or rather, it's the final, most heart-wrenching moment.
The Arasaka Group, a large corporation, found the protagonist and discovered that his physical abilities were extraordinary, or rather, his mental resilience was extraordinary.
If an ordinary person uses a military-grade prosthetic body without special training, they would likely suffer a mental breakdown very quickly.
However, the protagonist David has survived to this day, which clearly indicates that he is a very talented individual.
Such a talented individual deserves to be taken seriously by large companies.
