The work before the transfer of spiritual particles proceeded quickly. After all, the later it went, the more likely the history on that side would be completely destroyed. A little over an hour later, the two of them had already entered the frame of the instrument.
"It won't be long." Spider-Man suddenly spoke, startling everyone slightly.
But they quickly understood what Spider-Girl meant: she would research spirit transfer as soon as possible and then bring people to help.
"Yes, thank you, Miss Spider."
The transfer began, while the spider stood outside, intently observing this strange process with its X-ray vision.
The two seemed to have undergone some kind of special transformation. When they reappeared, they had arrived at a place that could not be reached by purely physical means: the long-lost ancient Mesopotamia.
Chapter 195 The Arrival of the Singularity
Ritsuka and Mashu arrived in Mesopotamia, only to find themselves in freefall from the sky. After a difficult but safe landing, they encountered a group of monsters, followed by a clumsy goddess descending from the sky. After a car accident, the goddess left on her own. In less than half an hour, their experiences were quite eventful.
After nearly defeating the monsters, the two met a man who called himself Enkidu, a hero in history. They then followed him toward a town called Uruk in this era.
Meanwhile, Spider-Girl was still diligently studying the magic of this world, with Leonardo da Vinci constantly explaining the key points of spirit particle transfer to her.
There was nothing he could do; the spider was completely silent, so Da Vinci had no idea whether she was listening or not. In order to get the spider to come and help as soon as possible, he had no choice but to repeat himself over and over again.
"So, Goddess, did you understand? Can you give me a response?" Leonardo da Vinci asked, his throat dry from talking.
After waiting for a while, Spider still didn't respond at all. Seeing the other party's calm expression, she had no choice but to continue explaining.
However, the spider's heart was far from calm.
"What should I do? I can barely understand anything she's saying. There are so many technical terms, and the nature of magic seems different too. If I want to study it, I'll probably have to start with the basic textbooks."
'But… I can't bring myself to say it. If I admit I didn't understand at all, wouldn't I look like an idiot? And then I'd have to ask them to get the textbook. Speaking in such long sentences would be torture!'
'How about we just make do for now?'
Spider-Woman casually picked up a glass of water from one of the employees, then activated her spatial teleportation. She planned to first make it seem like she had understood the theory and was trying it out, then find a way to replace the verbal instruction with her going to the library to look up information on her own, so that she could learn the basics.
Da Vinci was deeply moved when he saw the spider make a glass of water disappear on its own initiative. After all he had said, he was finally seeing some change.
'Great, now I'm going to speak, really! Wait, how can I make the sentence shorter? Can I just say "library"? That should be okay, right? Okay, I'll count to ten and then I'll speak!'
Spider-ko was trying hard to make up her mind, but just then, an unexpected incident occurred on the side of Fujimaru Ritsuka, who was the focus of everyone's attention.
"Ouch..." A glass of water splashed onto Fujimaru Ritsuka's head: "Where did this come from? It even has the Chaldea symbol on it?"
"She succeeded!" the doctor exclaimed excitedly. "The spider has transferred the water to the singularity; she succeeded!"
The entire Chaldea community was jubilant. The spirit transfer had been stalled for a long time, and they could only watch helplessly as the two girls fought on the front lines while they could only provide very limited assistance. Now that this situation had finally been resolved, how could they not be excited?
At this moment, only Spider Girl was still in a daze. Only with her superb skill in pretending to be innocent and naive was she able to barely keep her expression from breaking down. She had only tried it based on her gut feeling.
In fact, this situation is the same as when she first became a god. She was able to use dangerous and complex spatial magic without understanding the principles. Ordinary people would have to make a lot of preparations to use it, but Spider-Girl was able to teleport across the planets with her intuition without knowing how to use divine power.
This spatial intuition, which cannot be acquired through training, is Spider-Child's greatest talent and the main reason why other gods envy her. She doesn't understand the principles, but she can make the right choices based on her intuition.
Spider picked up another notebook and tried again, succeeding once more. She had indeed mastered the method to reach the Seventh Singularity.
"I'll contact Mr. Superman right away. With his help, this incident will definitely be resolved easily."
As the doctor spoke, he sent an invitation to Karl in the chat group. A minute later, Karl made some arrangements for his world and appeared in Chaldea.
“That’s really efficient. The problem of spirit particle transfer was solved in just a few hours. I thought it would take at least several days,” Karl said.
"Exceptional performance." Spider-Man spoke a little more to his benefactor, though not by much.
Karl nodded, then looked at the doctor and asked, "Judging from the current situation, it seems you are working on a singularity exploration project. Which historical period are you referring to?"
The doctor said, "It's Mesopotamia in 2655 BC, the land of the gods, which is extremely dangerous. That's why I extended an invitation to you immediately."
“That’s the right choice,” Carl said. “Then let’s not delay, I’ll go over there with Spider-Man now.”
Carl walked toward the spider, while the doctor contacted Ritsuka to share the good news.
……
In a dense forest in Mesopotamia, Fujimaru Ritsuka, Mash, and Enkidu were slowly making their way forward.
"The support arrived so quickly?" Ritsuka said happily in response to the doctor's words.
"Support? What support? Are there any other people coming here?" Enkidu asked, turning his eyes around.
Ritsuka took a breath, wanting to answer, but a voice interrupted her.
"It's us."
To increase the stability of the teleportation, physical contact needed to be maintained, so Karl held Spider's hand and slowly descended from the sky.
Seeing this, Mash immediately said nervously, "Um, you must be Superman. Thank you for coming to help us."
Mashu recognized Karl immediately by the large "S" on his chest, but out of respect for the imposing presence that Spider-Man had previously displayed, she was overly polite to Karl and his companion.
"Don't be so nervous. Actually, I'm not much older than you, so there's no need to use honorifics. Just be natural with me."
Ritsuka and Mashu relaxed. It seemed that, just as the doctor had said, Superman was a good person.
After saying this, Karl looked at Enkidu and asked about his identity, even though he already knew it from his memories of his past life.
"As you just heard, you can call me Superman. This is Spider-Man. We're here to help Chaldea. May I ask your name?"
"I am Enkidu..."
Enkidu has long green hair, wears a white robe, and looks like both a boy and a girl, without any obvious sexual characteristics. He always gives people a feeling of being very close to nature.
"Don't be fooled by appearances, he's not Enkidu."
Just as 'Enkidu' finished introducing himself, a handsome white-haired man dressed as a mage suddenly appeared out of nowhere and spoke.
Seeing that everyone's eyes were on him, the man quickly said, "Big brother, I'm not a suspicious person. I'm Merlin, the mage Merlin."
Chapter 196 Speedrun
Merlin's appearance can be described in one word: flamboyant. Despite being a man, he wears many floral-themed decorations.
However, Merlin in this world is not human. Not to mention the decorations on his clothes, flowers would even sprout from his feet from time to time, which was very eye-catching and made Karl stare at him for a few seconds.
Merlin himself knew that the flowers appearing under his feet were too flashy, so he cast a suggestive spell on himself so that others wouldn't notice it without being reminded.
It now appears that the magic doesn't work on Karl; his high magic resistance negates the effect, which pleases Karl.
"Senior, two suspicious individuals have appeared."
The two Chaldeans noticed the short figure in a black cloak behind Merlin.
"Oh, I'm sorry, for some reason, it's not appropriate for her to give her name. If you must call her, you can call her Anna," Merlin said with a laugh.
"It's even more suspicious now."
The two didn't seem to trust Merlin, which makes sense. He suddenly appeared with a man in black robes and claimed that his companions were imposters; they didn't seem like trustworthy people.
Enkidu said, "You say I'm a fake, what proof do you have?"
Merlin confidently stated, "It would be strange if you were the real Enkidu. You see, the king currently commanding the battle in Uruk is Gilgamesh, who returned after searching for the elixir of immortality. In other words, the real Enkidu has already..."
Merlin stated the exact time, and the real Enkidu could not possibly exist as a local, so what we see here must be a fake.
Of course, the other party can deny it to the death, and they won't trust Merlin so hastily until the group finds a way to confirm it. It's just that the other party doesn't have that thought.
"Hahaha, such a hastily made lie is really unreliable. Something interesting was going to happen in a little while, but never mind, even if we only take your heads back, Mother will be very happy."
The two Chaldeans immediately tensed up and prepared for battle, while Karl casually took a few steps forward, shielding them behind him.
“So, can you tell us your real identity now?” Carl said.
"Very well, I'll let you die knowing the truth. I am Kingu, the son of Tiamat, a more excellent and perfect new human than you. Although you are failures, you are still among the better ones, barely qualified as a gift!"
As he spoke, Kingu, revealing his true identity, suddenly pressed one hand to the ground. With a surge of energy, the surrounding soil instantly condensed into the shape of weapons. These weapons, comparable to Noble Phantasms, shot towards Karl like arrows under Kingu's control.
"Watch out!" Mash shouted, instinctively wanting to raise her shield and rush forward to block the attack.
But when she exerted her strength, she found that her body was being held back by something. The short, black-robed man next to her was in the same situation, forced to stop in place and unable to move forward, and could only watch helplessly as the weapon was fired.
clang----
A long, crisp sound—the sound of metal shattering. Jingu's weapon shattered into pieces upon impact with Karl.
King paused for a moment, then slightly adjusted the trajectory of his weapon, aiming at Karl's vulnerable areas that were not covered by his uniform, such as his hands, neck, and eyes. He assumed that Karl's exaggerated defensive capabilities came from his uniform.
The sound of metal clashing grew increasingly frequent, inevitably bringing to mind modern machine guns, capable of firing more than ten weapons per second, with a constant clattering and clanging sound.
Ritsuka and Mash watched this incredible battle with bated breath. Kingu's attacks could only be described as extravagant; each weapon was comparable to a Noble Phantasm of an ordinary Heroic Spirit, as if his magical power was free.
Even more outrageous is their helper, Superman. They didn't sense a single energy fluctuation from him, meaning he was simply enduring the Noble Phantasm's bombardment with his bare body!
Karl made no defensive move, letting the weapons rain down on him, and walked step by step toward Jingu.
Kingu was getting anxious and kept increasing his magic output, but it had no effect. The opponent was still slowly approaching. Not to mention that such attacks could not penetrate Karl's magic resistance, even if they were physical attacks, they would not be enough to defeat a Kryptonian.
Karl soon arrived in front of Kingu.
"Damn it!" Kingu's final counterattack was to unleash the most primal power within the body he possessed—Enkidu's Chains of Heaven, which he had used to fight the gods.
The chains were bound around Karl, but it was obvious that they wouldn't be of any use. Not to mention that he wasn't a being of this world, even if he were, a god on earth was not the same as a true god.
Karl didn't even try to break free of the chains; he simply raised one hand and slapped Jingu on the chest, and the chains snapped naturally with that action.
Jin Gu was blasted away by the explosive force, crashing through countless trees and rocks before finally creating a deep crater in the ground. Blood trickled from the corner of his mouth as he collapsed unconscious.
'It seems I'm getting more and more skilled at controlling my strength,' Karl thought. Knocking someone unconscious without killing them is a skill in itself. Luckily, Jingu is a ranged attacker; otherwise, he probably would have had to pretend to be knocked away to get the right balance.
After the battle, Mashu and Anna, dressed in black robes, regained their mobility. Only then did they realize that what had been hindering their movement was extremely fine spider silk, so fine that it was impossible to spot without careful observation. It was clearly the work of spiders.
"Mr. Superman, are you alright?" Mash rushed over and asked.
“Don’t worry, he can’t hurt me at all. I’ve already knocked him out,” Karl said.
Ritsuka and Mashu had heard from the doctor that Karl was very strong, but verbal descriptions could never compare to real-life experience. Hearing that someone could move planets was far less shocking than witnessing someone withstand a Noble Phantasm firsthand.
"Holy crap, Dr. Roman, this is the helper you found from another world? Kingu may be an imposter, but his strength is exactly the same as Enkidu's. He was easily killed."
Meanwhile, Merlin struck up a conversation with the doctor, who was far away in Chaldea. He knew the doctor could hear him and seemed to have known him for a long time.
"So you really were spying on us with your clairvoyance, weren't you? You peeping tom!" the doctor said irritably.
"Haha, after all, this is my only interest. And look, I'm here to help too, aren't I? Since I don't exist in this era, I, who am still alive, deliberately used a bug to send a heroic spirit body in." Merlin said in a somewhat frivolous tone.
"No need. With the help of Superman and Spider-Man, we'll be able to easily retrieve the Holy Grail this time. So you, this shut-in nightmare, are completely useless."
