Alfred sighed, put down his double-barreled shotgun, and said, "Actually, you're not afraid of my gun at all, are you?"

The three did not answer, but this behavior basically meant they agreed.

"To be honest, I still can't trust you. After all, you barged in suddenly and seem to know a lot of secrets. But if you just want kryptonite, I can tell you where it is."

"Really?" Gan Yu asked in surprise. If she could successfully obtain the kryptonite, she could complete the mission directly.

Alfred nodded and said, "Kryptonite isn't here. Since you were able to break into the Batcave, you must know that Batman is the master of this place. Shortly before you arrived, Batman took Kryptonite out."

"What! How could it be so fast?" Bronya exclaimed in disbelief.

Although Bronya didn't know the exact time of each scene in the movie, since the Kryptonian ship hadn't yet absorbed Metropolis's electricity to power Doomsday, the showdown between Batman and Superman should have started at least tomorrow. How could they be fighting now?

The showdown has not yet begun. Batman is just scouting the location a day in advance to familiarize himself with the environment. After all, he is facing a god-like Superman, and without thorough preparation, there is no chance of winning.

"Thank you for the information. We'll be leaving now." Bronya bowed to Alfred, then had the spider cast a spatial spell, taking her and Gan Yu away.

Alfred was completely bewildered; he hadn't even had a chance to stop the three of them.

His original plan was to first tell the three a fake location, and then use that time to contact Batman so that he could decide whether to cooperate with the three superpowered individuals to kill Superman. However, before he could even say a word, the other party simply left.

Alfred quickly sat down at the computer and connected to Batman's communication: "Sir, three people with special abilities are heading your way, one of whom is the white-haired girl who appeared at Congress earlier."

“Alfred, I don’t have time for this right now.” Batman’s voice immediately came from the speaker, but it sounded very urgent.

Spider-Woman moved everyone outside Wayne Manor, where she waited for the remaining two to discuss their next destination.

"Bronya, do you know the exact location of the Kryptonite because you want us to leave directly?" Gan Yu asked.

Bronya said, "Bronya knows that if Kryptonite isn't in the Batcave, then it must have been taken out by Batman, and its location should be at the port."

Superman suffers enormous battle damage when he fights. For example, Batman had seven satellites, but one of them was knocked down by the aftershocks of Superman's battle with General Zod.

So, in order to avoid affecting others during his final battle with Superman, Batman bought an entire port in Gotham City as his battleground, where he deployed heavy weapons to restrain Superman.

And all of these weapons are currently operational.

Let's go back a little earlier.

After receiving a reminder from Carl, Superman began his investigation into Lex Luthor. After all, he was Superman; once he made up his mind to investigate someone, there was basically nothing he couldn't find out.

So he quickly gathered evidence of Lex Luthor's crimes, changed his clothes, and flew into Lex Tower.

At that moment, Luthor was sitting alone in his office when Superman broke in through the window, which gave him a big fright.

“I’ll send you the bill,” Luther said, pointing to the large hole in the wall.

Superman floated in front of him and said, "Before that, you have to take responsibility for your crimes. I have found out that you were the mastermind behind the massacre in the desert, and you also planted the bomb in the Capitol. You have been trying to slander me."

"However, I won't hurt you. Instead, I'll send you to prison. You should be glad you are."

Upon hearing this, Luther grinned widely and clapped his hands, saying in a trembling voice, "Impressive, impressive! I didn't expect you to be able to discover this."

Lex Luthor was also afraid of Superman. Humans instinctively feel fear when faced with someone who can easily take their life, especially when they are about to deliberately provoke the other party, as they might be reduced to ashes if they are not careful.

So he tried his best to smile, attempting to suppress his fear with excitement.

"Okay, it's really fine. You just arrived a little earlier than I expected, which saved me the time of kidnapping Louise Lane to lure you here."

Superman's eyes reddened slightly, and Luthor quickly said, "Don't worry, she's safe! She's still happily working as a reporter!"

After the red light faded, Luther immediately added, "But it's different for another important woman in your life—your mother!"

Luther then dropped a bunch of photos, taken when Superman's mother was kidnapped.

Superman felt like he was about to explode with anger.

Luther felt his lips trembling; the feeling of constantly teetering on the edge of danger was incredibly thrilling.

Chapter Sixty-Three: Then I'd better hurry.

"Where is she!" Superman roared, his eyes redder than ever, his heat gaze threatening to incinerate the person before him.

“I don’t know, and I won’t let them tell me.” Luther let his kidnappers find the location themselves, and he genuinely didn’t know, because he was afraid he wouldn’t be able to bear the fear and would give out the address.

Superman lowered his head helplessly. He tried to use his super hearing to find his adoptive mother's location, but the sounds in the city were too numerous and varied. Unless his adoptive mother shouted for help, he would not be able to find her.

However, the kidnapped foster mother knew that there was no way she could call for help, so Superman really couldn't find her immediately.

Seeing that Superman had quieted down, Luthor seized the opportunity to say, "If you want to save your mother, go to the next city and bring me Batman's head."

“I’ll give you an hour,” Luther said, picking up the alarm clock on his desk and setting a timer.

“If you go somewhere else, your mother will die. If you don’t come back within an hour, your mother will still die. The timer starts now.”

Superman left reluctantly, though he didn't really intend to kill Batman. An hour was plenty of time, and he believed he could find a win-win solution during that time. After all, there was another version of himself in a parallel universe who could provide support, so rescuing his mother shouldn't be a problem.

After Superman left, Luthor had his staff arrange a helicopter for him. He was going to the crash site of the Kryptonian ship, because he couldn't put all his eggs in one basket.

Although Luther himself was eager to witness the feat of a mortal killing a god, he also knew that it was a low-probability event, and if the mortal could not succeed, then the task of slaying the god would have to be left to the demon.

Yes, he was referring to Doomsday, the most ferocious and terrifying monster he could find in a Kryptonian spaceship. It had caused the highly advanced Kryptonian civilization a great deal of suffering, and if nothing unexpected happened, it should have the power to kill Superman.

Soon, Luther arrived at the heavily guarded military base by helicopter. He had permission to enter and exit freely and had even found a way to enter the spaceship before the military could.

Luther once again used the fingerprints cut off from General Zod by Kryptonite to enter the spaceship, but he suddenly felt something was strange. Logically, he had taken over the spaceship's authority, but the spaceship's AI did not welcome his arrival, which was definitely not right.

"Welcome, were you waiting for someone to say this?"

A voice came, but it wasn't the mechanical voice Luther was waiting for.

"Who are you?!" Luther asked.

The man revealed himself, appearing directly in front of Luther, his entire body suspended in mid-air.

Luther stared at the symbol on his chest and the red cape on his back, exclaiming incredulously, "Superman? This can't be! You're not him!"

The person still in the spaceship at this time was naturally Carl. He had heard Luthor's voice a long time ago, and Carl had already noticed him while Luthor was still talking to Superman in the building.

Seeing Luther's exaggerated expression, Carl felt very satisfied. It was worth it to change out of the clothes woven by Spider-Man and use the battle suit to face him.

“I’m not Superman, but I’m pretty close. After all, we’re practically counterparts from different worlds,” Karl said.

"Parallel worlds? Multiverse?" Luther immediately realized that he had heard a lot of information about the spaceship before creating Doomsday, including the part about the multiverse.

"The multiverse really exists, so you're a superman from another universe? My God, one god is enough, why do we need another one?!" Luther said, clutching his head in anguish.

He already had enough of one Superman, and now another one has come along, but there's no other Martha to kidnap him.

Hmm, wait a minute. Who said a hostage can only be used once? Since he's a superman from a parallel universe, he should care about his adoptive mother in this universe, right?

So Luthor said, "Okay, Superman, you should know that your version of yourself in this universe has an Earth foster mother."

“Using her as a threat is not a good idea,” Carl said.

Luther laughed, trembling, "You know? That's great, because I've kidnapped her. If you want to save her, you have to do as I say, within an hour..."

Carl interrupted him abruptly: "An hour? Are you kidding me?"

"of course not."

No sooner had Luther finished speaking than Carl transformed into a hurricane and flew away, blowing Luther so hard he landed on his backside.

"I haven't even stated my requirements yet," he complained, rubbing his backside.

But never mind, since he was certain that Batman couldn't possibly face two Supermen, so it was time to figure out a way to activate Doomsday.

Luther went to the control panel, pondering how to retrieve the key and regain control of the ship.

But just then, the familiar hurricane struck again, and he was blown to the ground once more.

"The hostage you mentioned is her, right? I shouldn't have rescued the wrong person, should I?" Karl had returned, carrying a middle-aged woman in his arms.

“I’m sorry, ma’am, I’m sorry to have frightened you. I’m your son’s friend,” Carl comforted the still-shaken Martha.

"I can tell you're dressed very similarly to him. It's a bit too much, but thank you anyway," Martha said, patting her chest.

Luther was completely dumbfounded. He had managed to rescue someone across the entire city in such a short time? This was too much of a cheat! How was anyone supposed to compete with this?

Luther grabbed his hair and yelled, "Okay, it's her!"

"Are you sure you want to take another look?" Karl countered. "After all, you gave me a full hour to rescue people. I mean, that's enough time for me to run around the solar system several times."

"But you sent me to save someone who is in this city, so I suspect that you may have made some other arrangements, such as me actually saving the wrong person."

Enraged by Karl, Luther ripped out a large clump of his hair and yelled in despair, "Fine! It's her! You won, are you satisfied now!"

This is not what we agreed on. He had studied Superman carefully and was very certain of the extent of the other's abilities. Logically speaking, Superman should not be able to complete the rescue mission so easily.

However, the Superman in this parallel universe completely shattered his calculated data. Isn't the difference in abilities between Supermen a bit too great?

In short, his hostage plan failed, and his mentality also began to crumble. It seems that his plan is useless against this superman from a parallel universe.

If they want to win, they can only pin their hopes on the half-finished Doomsday.

Chapter Sixty-Four: Caterpillar No. 2

Inside the spaceship, Carl looked at Luther's messy hair and complained, "Why don't you just shave your head? I think that would suit you better."

The absence of his signature bald head in the cinematic universe is quite a shock for Lex Luthor, even though his Earth-3 version of Lex Luthor has much more body hair.

Luther was now somewhat disheartened. He was carefully considering how to defeat Carl, but ultimately concluded that there was no way.

For an ordinary person like himself to fight against Superman, the only way to win is to prepare in advance from behind the scenes. But now he is face to face with Karl, and any suspicious move he makes will be stopped.

Moreover, the ship is now under Karl's control, so he can't possibly order the ship to recharge Doomsday. As for Kryptonite, forget about it; he can't possibly leave Karl's sight, so where would he get Kryptonite? Therefore, as he just said, he can only admit defeat this time.

"Excuse me, are you related to Clark?" Martha asked Carl.

“You could say that. I’m a superman from another world, here to take care of that guy,” Karl said, giving the same excuse as before, pointing to the cocoon shell beside him.

“I don’t quite understand, but I think you’re doing the right thing,” Martha said, thinking Carl was a good man.

Rescuing the hostages and dealing with Doomsday was indeed the right thing to do, but Carl was about to do something not so right, so he had to get Martha and Luther out of there first.

“Madam, something dangerous is about to happen here, so I’ll take you back first,” Carl said.

Martha nodded. Although she didn't understand what Carl was doing, she knew that she should cooperate in this situation and try not to cause him any trouble.

“Don’t worry, it’ll be quick.” Carl blindfolded Martha, and by the time he removed his hands, the two had already arrived at the farm in Kansas.

Carl felt nostalgic, having spent six years on a similar farm, though it had been bankrupt for over a decade, unlike this place which had been operating smoothly.

“You’re safe here, but I have to go back first,” Carl said.
