Yanan nodded slightly. This was something they had discussed beforehand, and now was not the best time to expose their connection.

Morgan then seized an opportunity to conceal herself using magic and quietly left the group.

"Huh? Guinevere has disappeared?"

Artoria was the first to discover Morgan's disappearance, yet a gut feeling told her that it might not be such a bad thing.

Looking at Yanan's still calm profile, she hesitated for a moment, but in the end, she said nothing.

When they were about ten meters away from the city gate, Yanan led his men to dismount and walk forward.

"Greetings, Your Majesty."

The nobles all bowed respectfully to Anaen, but Feuerius, standing at the very front, remained unmoved.

Noticing this scene, many nobles had a strange look in their eyes.

Feus's loyalty to King Euthy was well-known, so many people had guessed that the Minister of the Interior would probably dislike the new king. But to their surprise, he gave them a hard time right from the start.

This has made many people even more convinced that there will inevitably be fierce clashes between the powerful Minister of the Interior and the rising new king.

Between these two, I'm afraid only one of them can remain in the end!

However, due to their position, they did not see the deep confusion in Feuerius's eyes.

Although he was prepared to fight the new king, Feuerius, who had been in high society for so many years and was already quite shrewd, was not foolish enough to make such an inappropriate move at this time. If word got out, it would only give others something to talk about.

But when he saw Anahn, dressed in azure silver armor, walking towards him, he suddenly had a strong sense of déjà vu, as if he had stood outside the palace, watching the young King Uther return victorious.

It was this feeling that made him freeze in place for a moment.

“Ferius, to see the king and not bow is a great disrespect. Do you have some grievance against His Majesty?” A tall nobleman beside him spoke up, clearly not intimidated by Ferius.

"Ferius, you haven't forgotten your duty as a subject because you've been so powerful in Camelot for so long, have you?"

"Sir Feuerius, offending the king's authority is a serious taboo, you should know that."

The other nobles also spoke up. Some of them were dissatisfied with the suppression they had suffered from Feuerius over the years and wanted to seize the opportunity to retaliate. Some wanted to win over the new king and lay the foundation for future contact. Others wanted to intensify the conflict between Feuerius and Anaen and provoke a confrontation between the two.

The other minor nobles remained silent. Given their level, daring to enter into a confrontation of this caliber would undoubtedly be tantamount to courting death.

Feuerius quickly regained his composure, inwardly cursing these opportunists for kicking him when he was down, but outwardly remained calm and said:

"I was dealing with political affairs all night, so I was a bit tired. Plus, I'm getting old and my mental state isn't very good. I just lost focus for a moment."

“Since it’s so hard, Sir Feuerius, why don’t you hand over the power to His Majesty and find a remote rural place to retire? You might even live a little longer that way,” a nobleman suggested.

Feuerius's face grew increasingly grim, and just as he was about to speak, a soft laugh suddenly reached his ears:

"Sir Fairius is often exhausted from the affairs of state. You are all pillars of Camelot and should work together. Please do not let yourselves hurt each other's feelings."

The nobles stared in astonishment at Anahn, not understanding why the new king would suddenly speak up for Feuerius.

Is he trying to ease tensions with Feuerius?

Feuerius was also filled with doubt, wondering what the new king was up to.

However, Yanan simply smiled, appearing completely unperturbed.

Then the other nobles came forward one by one to exchange pleasantries with Yanan, who showed no impatience and answered their questions casually.

The nobles exchanged glances and sighed inwardly. They had originally thought that the new king, being so young, would be arrogant and domineering, but they hadn't expected him to be so meticulous, leaving them with no flaws whatsoever.

This is a little fox who is no less cunning than Feuerius.

With such a monarch standing above us, those carefree days of the past are probably gone forever.

Chapter Sixty: A Wish Worth Three Copper Coins

Afterwards, surrounded by nobles, Anan walked towards the inner city of Camelot.

As soon as they entered the city, a deafening roar of cheers greeted them.

"Arthur! Arthur!"

A massive crowd stood on both sides of the street, stretching as far as the eye could see. Everyone was chanting Arthur's name with fervent expressions, and the surging wave of emotion even slightly moved the nobles.

Some people's faces grew increasingly gloomy, while others' smiles became increasingly hearty.

"Look, Your Majesty, these people have been waiting here for a long time since they heard the news of your arrival. Your fame has spread throughout Camelot," a nobleman said with a smile.

"Thank you for the compliment. I was merely doing what I was supposed to do," Yanan said with a smile.

“Your Majesty, while humility is a good virtue, too much of it can be counterproductive.” The nobleman laughed, then sighed, “However, we have indeed been suppressing our feelings for too long. For fifteen whole years, Camelot has not won such a brilliant battle.”

“Yes, Your Majesty, you don’t know, but since the news of the Battle of the Great Plains spread, the number of envoys sent to Camelot by the Allied Nations has increased several times over. King Gwent and King Dehebas have both clearly stated that they will definitely attend your coronation ceremony,” another nobleman said.

The Kingdom of Gwent and the Kingdom of Dehebas are powerful nations on par with Camelot. During the fifteen years that Camelot was dormant, these two countries developed rapidly and have gradually gained control of the discourse among the allied nations.

The fact that the kings of these two countries have personally come to witness the ceremony is enough to prove how much they value the new king, Anahn.

"These are all thanks to the soldiers. It is their valiant performance on the battlefield that has earned Camelot such glorious honor. I have only made a small contribution," Yanan replied calmly.

Keep pretending!

Many nobles secretly grumbled to themselves, for they would never forget the news their men had brought back from Lucammons: the "Light of Destruction" was still shining brightly outside Lucammons to this day!

In their view, it was impossible for three hundred knights to charge into an army of twenty thousand, and the new king was definitely behind it.

However, when they saw the knights led by Lanmarok, they were still deeply impressed by the imposing presence of the legion.

Some of the older nobles couldn't help but recall the Roman army that had once seemed like gods descending to earth.

A monarch with godlike power, coupled with such a powerful army, is more than enough to establish a kingdom in Britain that rivals Camelot!

Many people sighed inwardly, realizing they had underestimated the new king.

Those nobles who had sent assassins to kill the new king were now filled with deep regret. Had they known that the new king possessed such great power, they would never have acted so rashly.

The only thing that comforted them was that the assassins were all secretly trained by them, and no one knew about their relationship. Presumably, the new king would not find out about it either.

Suddenly a commotion broke out nearby, and a little girl in a red dress burst out of the crowd and ran straight toward Yanan.

"Stop her!" Many nobles' expressions changed slightly. In this era, no one could guarantee that a seven or eight-year-old girl was really as harmless as she appeared.

The guards drew their long swords, ready to strike the little girl running towards them, but suddenly froze in place.

“No need to be so nervous.” Anahn said calmly, light green runes swirling around his fingertips. “She’s just a little girl.”

The little girl seemed completely unaware of what she had just experienced, and ran straight to Yanan, her big light brown eyes blinking as she looked at him.

Yanan dismounted, squatted down, looked at the little girl at eye level, and smiled gently: "Did you come to see me?"

The little girl hesitated for a moment, then asked in a clear voice, "Are you King Arthur?"

“That’s right, I am Arthur,” Yanan said with a smile.

“Everyone says you are the king who brings hope to Camelot. I asked my mother what hope is, and she told me that hope is fulfilling other people’s wishes,” the little girl said. “So, I would like to ask you to help me fulfill my wish.”

She opened her small palm, revealing three copper coins that had been worn smooth and shiny: "Mom said that you have to pay someone for helping you. This is all the money I've saved up. If it's not enough, I'll try my best to pay you back later."

Yanan was silent for a moment, then took the three copper coins from the little girl's hand and smiled, "No need, the price of one wish is exactly three copper coins."

"Really?" The little girl's eyes lit up.

Yanan nodded with a smile: "Now, tell me your wish."

The little girl clutched the hem of her clothes shyly and whispered:

"I...I want to see my dad again."

Yanan was slightly taken aback.

"Mom said that Dad went to the North, to a very far place, because he is a great hero. He has to fight bad guys and protect us." The little girl lowered her head. "But before, Dad would come back once a year, but now, he hasn't come back for a long time."

“Every time I ask my mom why my dad hasn’t come back yet, my mom cries. I’m so scared, so I’ve stopped asking.”

"But I really miss him. I don't want him to be some kind of hero anymore. I just want him to come back, to hug me like before, to pat my head, to prick my face with his stubble, and to make me bread that tastes awful..."

Tick-tock...tick-tock...

Large tears streamed down her cheeks, leaving the little girl's face streaked with tears. She choked out:

"I really... really want to see my dad again."

Everyone fell silent, their eyes filled with complex emotions.

Yanan gently wiped away the little girl's tears and smiled:

"I already know your wish, so let me help you fulfill it."

He snapped his fingers, and a crimson feather fell from the void, catching the little girl's eye.

A hint of confusion appeared in her eyes; she felt as if her consciousness had detached from her body, drifting like a kite in the clouds, soaring higher and higher...

"I love Lyosha... I love Lyosha..."

A faint call came from beside her ear, and Alyosha suddenly came to her senses, finding herself lying on her bed at home, with bright sunlight streaming in through the window, bringing a languid warmth.

"It's so late and you're still not up. Alyosha is such a lazybones."

A gentle voice came from beside her. Alyosha turned her head instinctively and saw a tall man standing by the bed, his eyes full of a familiar smile.

"Daddy!" Elyosha cheered excitedly, throwing herself into the man's arms. "You're finally back! Elyosha missed you so much!"

The man gently stroked the girl's hair and chuckled, "I miss you too, my darling daughter, Alyssa."

"Really?" Elyosa looked at the man with her big, bright eyes.

"Of course, when have I ever lied to you?" The man smiled. "Alright, get up quickly, or Mom will get angry and spank you. After breakfast, Dad will take you out for some fun."

"Yay!" Alyosha cheered, immediately jumped out of bed, and ran towards the living room. "Mommy, Mommy, hurry up, I want to eat breakfast, and then go out to play with Daddy!"

"Wait! Elyossa, you haven't put your shoes on yet!"

From childhood to adulthood, the man had never lied to Elyosha. After breakfast, he took Elyosha out to play.

They went to the market and bought Alyosha's favorite snacks. They went to the church and looked down at the entire city of Camelot from the top of the tower. The man also took the girl to the countryside, where they encountered flocks of sheep. The girl curiously touched the sheep's wool, which was soft and very comfortable.

They found a village, and the man borrowed a kitchen from a villager, vowing to cook a big meal for the girl. However, the bread he baked turned out as black as charcoal. Seeing the man's embarrassed expression, the girl laughed even more happily.

They picked mushrooms in the woods and flew kites in the open field; the little girl's laughter was carried far and wide by the wind.

Before they knew it, night had fallen. The man and the little girl lay on the grass, gazing at the starry sky.

“I’m leaving, I love Lyosha,” the man suddenly said.
