"I'll stop here. I'll walk the rest of the way by myself," Cantreber said to Yanan and the others as he stood at the town entrance.

Yanan smiled and said, "I look forward to seeing you again."

“I’m looking forward to that day too.” Cantreber nodded with a smile, then looked at Hector. “Hector, are you really not coming back with me?”

“I am old, Your Grace. My only wish now is to spend the rest of my days in this quiet place.” Hector sighed. “It’s no longer suitable for me there.”

Cantreber nodded regretfully.

He knew that the main reason Hector was unwilling to return to Camelot was because the person he had sworn allegiance to was no longer there.

He then looked at Artoria beside him, a hint of guilt in his eyes: "Your child, will you hate me? You should have been the one to pull out that sword, but I failed the duty your father entrusted to me."

Artoria was slightly taken aback, then quickly waved her hand: "Please don't say that, Your Excellency. You are a person worthy of the respect of all the people of Camelot. Besides, I don't think there's anything wrong with what you did. My teacher is clearly a more suitable candidate to be king than I am. I am not yet qualified to shoulder the responsibilities of a king."

Gazing into those clear, azure eyes, Cantreber's eyes showed a hint of relief, and he nodded slightly. "In that case, I'm relieved."

"Friends, I hope we will meet again someday. May the holy Lord bless you."

Cantreber made the sign of the cross on his chest to bless everyone, and then turned and left.

Everyone watched silently until the elderly figure disappeared from sight.

“I originally thought the Archbishop was a very serious person,” Kai scratched his head, “but he’s actually a very easy person to get along with.”

"When do you plan to leave?" Hector asked Yanan.

"Let's wait two more days," Yanan thought for a moment. "We just need to finish taking care of the last few small matters."

The four returned to the manor and saw Merlin sitting on the steps, looking utterly dejected.

A little boy who looked about two or three years old was riding on his shoulders, his little hands tightly gripping his hair.

"Little ancestor, stop pulling! With that much strength, I'll lose all my hair!" Merlin sighed, but when he saw Anann and the others enter, his eyes lit up instantly. As if he had seen a savior, he rushed to Anann. "My king! You're finally back! Quickly get this little devil off me! Otherwise, I'll lose my beautiful hair!"

He looked at Anan pitifully: "You wouldn't want to see a dignified court mage with a bald head in the future, would you?"

“I think it’s great, it suits your temperament very well,” Kai said gloatingly.

Upon seeing Anahn, the little boy's eyes lit up. He released Merlin's hair, opened his arms towards Anahn, and said in a childish voice:

"Hug~ hug~"

Yanan took the little boy from him, who clutched the hem of his clothes, inhaled the scent of Yanan, and closed his eyes contentedly.

This child is Sidren, who was conceived half a month ago by Yanan using the power of the Black Abyss White Flower and is destined to become a mortal hero.

To provide him with a suitable environment to grow up in, he now lives with his mother at the Hector Estate.

Because of the excessively vigorous life force within him, Sidden's growth rate was extremely fast, changing almost every day. In just half a month, he was already able to walk normally.

He learns very quickly. Whatever the preschool teacher hired by Hector teaches, he can learn it very quickly. Even now, this little guy knows more words than his mother.

At first, everyone was quite surprised, but now they've basically gotten used to it.

"Sidden, tell your brother, what did this white-haired trash do to you just now?" Yanan gently pinched Sidden's nose and asked with a smile.

"He asked me if I would like to be his apprentice. If I agreed, he would introduce me to lots of pretty girls," Sidden said in a childish voice. After thinking for a moment, she added, "As pretty as Sister Al."

"Merlin!!" Artoria's furious voice pierced the sky, her holy blue eyes burning with flames. "Sidern is so young, what are you teaching him?!"

Seeing Merlin instantly deflated, Kai crossed his arms and sneered, "Great Sage, so this is how you take on disciples?"

Hector sighed helplessly, shook his head, and walked into the manor.

"I didn't expect you to still be so wicked, Merlin." Yanan glanced coldly at Merlin, then turned to Sidden. "You did a good job, Sidden. From now on, if that white-haired trash gets close to you again, just pull his hair as hard as you can. It doesn't matter if you pull it all off."

"Hmm." Sidden nodded her little head seriously.

This is not a joke.

Although Sidden was only half a month old, his heroic potential was already showing.

With his current strength, he could kill a wild dog with a single punch.

Moreover, given his abnormal growth rate, it shouldn't be difficult for him to fight tigers in the south and capture dragons in the north in a few years.

This is something that even Yanan couldn't do back then.

So-called heroes are those irrational beings.

......

......

"Master, what brings you here?" Yulina asked curiously, glancing subtly at the old knight beside her.

Judging from the smell of the blood, he was clearly a guy who was almost halfway to the grave, but for some reason, he still had such a vigorous life force in his body.

"I need you to do a few things for me."

Yanan looked at the old knight: "Karls, you haven't forgotten what I taught you, have you?"

“Of course. I will always keep your words of advice in mind,” Karls replied quickly.

Anan nodded slightly: "Very good. Now set off for Camelot, acquire land there, and use the farming tools and the techniques I taught you to grow crops. Remember, try not to be discovered. I will have Sir Hector give you the money."

“Yes!” Kars agreed without hesitation.

Yulina was full of doubt. It was just a little bit of food, so why did the master look so serious?

“Karls, do you remember what I told you before?” Yanan smiled and said, “Whether you can take this first step in opening up a new world depends entirely on you.”

Karls was so excited that his whole body was trembling, and he immediately knelt down on the ground.

"I swear on my life that Karls will never betray your trust!"

Chapter Forty-Seven: A New Journey

After Kars left, Yurina quickly looked at Yanan and said anxiously:

"And me, Master? What is my mission?"

She has now made up her mind that, for the sake of her future happiness, she must cling tightly to Yanan's powerful backer.

Therefore, she longed for an opportunity to demonstrate her worth to Yanan.

Only in this way can she avoid worrying about being suddenly kicked away by the other party one day.

It may seem a bit realistic, but that's just how cruel the world is.

What people need most is not good people, nor bad people, but... useful people.

Yulina had understood this principle very clearly a long time ago.

“Your task is also very important.” Yanan looked at Yulina.

Very important?

Yulina became instantly excited.

"I need you to go to the Seven Northern Kingdoms and gather intelligence there. You'd better find out exactly what Vortigern has been up to for the past ten years or so," Yanan said solemnly.

Since King Uther's defeat in his campaign against King Bartholomew fifteen years ago, the island of Britain has been divided into two regions.

The north was a seven-nation alliance led by Vortigern, while the south was mainly an alliance of nations headed by Camelot, Gwent, and Dehebas.

The so-called Seven Kingdoms of the North were the seven kingdoms established by the Anglo-Saxons who were brought in by Vortigern: the Kingdom of Kent, the Kingdom of Sussex, the Kingdom of Wessex, the Kingdom of Essex, the Kingdom of Northumbria, the Kingdom of East Anglia, and the Kingdom of Mercia.

These seven kingdoms each had their own king, but all were subject to the wicked king Vortigern.

After the battle fifteen years ago, Vortigern did not choose to press his advantage, but instead confronted the allied nations on the northern front.

For more than a decade, despite constant friction along the border, the seven northern countries have never chosen to launch a fierce offensive against the south.

This is undoubtedly illogical.

Vortigern could not possibly be unaware of Yuther's death. With Camelot leaderless, if he were to lead his army south, even with the kingdoms of Gwent and Dehebas, his chances of victory would still be very high.

Even if it was out of caution, he should at least have sent someone to test the waters.

But no, not even once.

For more than a decade, the seven northern kingdoms have remained within their borders, never stepping beyond their front lines regardless of victory or defeat.

It's as if they were the ones who were defeated in the first place.

The prevailing theory among the allied nations is that Vortigern was also seriously injured in that great battle and has been recuperating in secret for many years, which is why he has not launched an attack on the south.

However, according to the information Anaene received from Merlin, the reason Vortigern hasn't made a move for so many years is not because he's injured, but because he's preparing something.

He had no clue about it.

Anan had no idea what it was in this era that would make the white dragon willing to give up the chance to conquer Britain in one fell swoop and spend decades preparing.

But he knew very well that whatever that [thing] was, it would never be good news for them.

Unfortunately, Merlin's clairvoyance can no longer see Vortigern, and thanks to this white-haired good-for-nothing's dazzling actions, the other party has actually been able to prepare peacefully for fifteen years!

Although it is unknown how far Vortigern has progressed over the past ten years, Anan could no longer allow him to continue preparing!

At the very least, he needs to figure out what that white dragon is trying to do!

"Go... to the North?" Yulina's face instantly turned pale.

Actually, going north was a minor issue, but the key problem was that her master wanted her to spy on Vortigern!

Having spent so long in Britain, she was naturally very aware of the terror of that white dragon.

There are even rumors that the white dragon is evolving towards becoming a [god]!

Isn't she just asking for death by going there?!

“Don’t worry, I didn’t say you were going to contact Vortigern.” Yanan saw through Yulina’s little scheme at a glance. “You just need to keep an eye on the changes that have taken place in the seven northern kingdoms over the past fifteen years, paying particular attention to any new mysterious legends and strange phenomena. Report back to me when you get back.”

Judging from Vortigern's attitude, that thing must have an extraordinary function.

Based on past experience, the more extraordinary or unconventional something is, the bigger the commotion it creates.

Even if Vottigan deliberately hid it, it was impossible for him to keep a single clue hidden for more than ten years.

Yulina breathed a sigh of relief; if it was only this bad, then she could accept it.

“No problem, Master, leave it to me!” She patted her chest confidently. “I’ll stake my honor as a former professional bounty hunter on bringing you the information you need!”

Yanan nodded. Of all the people around him now, there was indeed no one more suitable than Yulina to do this kind of thing.
