"What did you give her?" Tony could only ask Steve and the others, after all, they were from S.H.I.E.L.D. and should know some inside information.
Chapter 121 The Life of the Insightful
Right after the Chitauri invasion, those guys at S.H.I.E.L.D. actually kept their word quite well.
Or rather, they don't want to be honest, but that won't work either.
They had previously hoped that someone among the Chitauri could leave Diana permanently in deep space, or that there was another way to make the woman disappear from the earth.
Unfortunately, their idea could not be realized.
Diana returned from deep space unharmed, even bringing back a lizard-like creature that was half-dead.
This completely dispelled any thoughts the S.H.I.E.L.D. agents might have had about reneging on their debt, since the prerequisite for doing so was that Diana was no longer on Earth. Otherwise, as long as she was still alive, no one would dare to even consider it.
So those guys basically used their fastest speed to send the initial model of that space carrier to the Insight Tower.
"Now you see, this is the big toy that S.H.I.E.L.D. gave me." Diana said to Tony, looking at the space carrier that was now floating in the sky.
After all, this guy has always longed for the big toy that S.H.I.E.L.D. gave him. Since S.H.I.E.L.D. has always had some technologies that are hard to understand, they can sometimes be quite enlightening.
Tony tapped his sunglasses and scanned the enormous toy: "I have to say, this thing is pretty good. For those guys, this is a huge financial burden. Wait, is this just the main body of the mothership? There aren't any other weapons or fighter jets?"
Diana was helpless; the guy who delivered it simply handed it to her and then ran away.
"It can only be said that it was my fault that allowed those guys to find a loophole. For them, giving less means losing less," Diana said with a hint of helplessness. Although she was very unhappy, there was nothing she could do; she couldn't take back what she had said.
"Rare indeed." Tony looked Diana up and down, as if he were seeing her for the first time. "This is the first time I've seen you make such a small mistake; it's truly..."
"I asked you to come and help me take a look at this, not to have you repeatedly emphasize that I've been tricked." Diana smiled, but the danger in that smile was self-evident.
Tony quickly suppressed his smile, after all, Diana's smile was not a good sign at the moment.
"To be honest, this thing is nothing special, nothing special." Tony completely dismissed the technological sophistication of this space carrier. As one of the world's most brilliant minds, he considered everything other than his own creations to be nothing more than mediocre clumsy work.
“This thing even needs to be resupplyed once a month,” Tony said, looking at the engine. “I can improve it; after all, with a few modifications, this thing could continue flying in suborbital space.”
"And I think you probably can't afford the maintenance and resupply costs."
Hearing Tony's words, Diana could only roll her eyes helplessly.
So what are you trying to say?
“What I’m trying to say is, you probably wouldn’t mind if I got involved too,” Tony said to Diana with a smile. “I think this place would make a great venue for Pepper and me to get engaged.”
Diana couldn't do anything about Tony's idea. To be honest, she only asked for it because she couldn't think of anything in S.H.I.E.L.D. that she needed.
It was just a spur-of-the-moment thing, I suppose.
"I think it should be possible, but only if you transform this place into a suitable place for an engagement." Diana really didn't have any particular thoughts about what she had in mind.
She's happy to accept any opinions from these guys if they have any.
"It seems you agree."
“What good would it do if I disagreed? I’m handing this over to you. I hope that when I see it again, you can give me a surprise.” Diana simply looked at the space carrier floating there.
"OK. Actually, even if you didn't tell me, I already know all the secrets of this thing, and this guy is already under Jarvis's control." For such a big thing that has broken free from the protection of S.H.I.E.L.D., controlling it is a piece of cake.
Under Jarvis's control, the behemoth began to move, slowly ascending in front of Diana and Tony before disappearing into the deep blue.
"I'll take this to my house first. Only there can I fully carry out the renovations. After all, my house is right next to the sea."
Diana genuinely couldn't stand this kind of flaunting of wealth, and she had been criticized by such people more than once or twice. She was basically used to it, after all, these people truly had "money power."
“Say one more word to me and I’ll show you what kind of punishment that Black Dwarf is going through right now.”
“No problem, I’m off.” Tony gestured to Diana, then turned and headed to the helipad next to the Insight Building, preparing to return to Los Angeles to see how he could improve the device.
That's right, when Tony settled things at this place, he had already prepared everything that might be needed.
He had thought of almost everything, from helipads to runways.
Every time this guy comes here, he arrives in his own private jet.
Unfortunately, Malibu, Los Angeles is quite a distance from here, otherwise I would definitely have driven my own car to a place like this.
Sometimes, Tony prefers the roar of a car engine starting up to the feeling of an airplane taking off.
For Diana, it didn't really matter how this place was built. After all, it was at most a kind of dormitory. At least it provided Banner with a good place, and sometimes she could let Hulk out to play.
As for Hulk's playthings, they used to be the combat robots Tony created. Although they could only last a few seconds each time, at least they allowed that big green guy to vent his frustrations.
Now that the black dwarf star is used as a punching bag, Hulk's toys have not suffered any significant damage since.
At least Hulk doesn't have the ability to completely kill Black Dwarf; at most, he can only cripple him.
However, Black Dwarf's powerful regenerative abilities always allow him to recover perfectly the next time Hulk comes to torment him.
Hulk especially liked coming down to the Insightful Building to have a good heart-to-heart talk with this guy.
Although the way they talked was a bit violent.
When Diana arrived, she saw Hulk having a serious discussion about life's philosophy with Black Dwarf.
Or perhaps a victims' forum? After all, both of them had been beaten up by Diana, and neither of them were exactly innocent.
From what we can see now, it's a stronger Hulk who's beating up that orc-like Black Dwarf.
"Hulk, are you happy?" Diana asked as she entered the basement. Hulk was hitting Black Dwarf.
Upon hearing Diana's voice, Hulk, who had been happily discussing the illness, immediately stopped what he was doing.
"Diana~" Hulk slowly turned his head and gave Diana a somewhat ugly smile.
Chapter 122 Visitors from Outer Universe
If we were to name the people Hulk least wants to see right now, this guy who's smiling and greeting him would definitely be near the top, perhaps even higher than Banner.
But no matter what, this guy didn't want to be beaten up by Diana again. It might be embarrassing for Hulk to say that, but it was the truth.
"Hey, looks like you're doing well." Diana glanced at the black dwarf who was barely standing and patted Hulk's thick forearm. "Your new friend is doing alright, isn't he?"
Hulk didn't know what to say to this guy. After all, seeing Diana now, he was still a little worried that the guy might just beat him up without saying a word. Although the possibility of such a thing happening was slim, it still made the green block feel a little uneasy.
He could only nod to Diana to indicate that he was doing fairly well.
The problem is, just because Hulk is having a good time doesn't necessarily mean that the guy is doing well.
The current Black Dwarf is no longer the formidable figure he once was as one of the Black Order; he's been completely turned into a complete idiot by the Hulk.
The broken temple began to slowly recover, and although the recovery was not fast enough, it was able to stop the bleeding from the temple.
Black Dwarf really wanted to tear Diana apart by the guy who had sent him to this hellish state, but unfortunately, he had no chance to fulfill his wish now.
“While I’m not sure if aliens express emotions in any different ways than humans or Earthlings,” Diana slowly walked up to the black dwarf, “I’m quite pleased with the look in your eyes.”
Only at times like this can one truly appreciate how imposing Black Dwarf's size is. He's at least about the same size as the Hulk, and might even be a bit taller.
However, when Diana approached him, Black Dwarf shrank back, not even trying to meet her gaze, but simply retreating.
"Good eyesight, but you'd be somewhat convincing if you didn't back down." Diana had already lost interest in Black Dwarf after seeing him back down.
Just then, Diana's phone rang.
Wilson Fiske.
Although she wasn't quite sure why Kingpin would call her at this time, Diana believed that unless it was something urgent, he would never bother her.
Diana took her phone and walked out of the basement. As she left, she turned back to Hulk and said, "Take good care of our guest."
He stopped worrying about what might happen in the basement. Everything was now in the hands of that big green guy; he'd been taking good care of him before.
The important question now is why Kingpin would call himself.
"What's wrong? Is there something you can't handle right now?"
“Someone wants to see you.” Fisk’s voice remained calm and steady, giving Diana no indication of any problem. “They’re in the Fisk building. They’re here now, and they seem to be in a hurry.”
On the other end of the phone, Fisk maintained his air of a New York underworld king, and even with a knife to his throat, his expression remained unchanged.
Give me half a minute.
When the call ended, Fisk finally looked at the people in front of him.
"I truly never imagined that even though I'm already the king of the underworld, there would be someone else behind me." A man in a black leather jacket had his feet propped up on Kingpin's table. It was also he who pressed the golden trident against Kingpin's throat.
“Namor, watch your step,” a man with graying temples and wearing a red cloak said to the rather rude fellow.
"I'd really like to know, why did you guys come looking for me?" Fisk couldn't understand it; these guys just showed up at his door. But their style was clearly not that of an underground organization.
"Because this is the most direct way to get the Tesseract." The man with graying temples answered Kingpin's question without hesitation.
"Boom boom boom!"
At this moment, a somewhat eerie knocking sound came from the floor-to-ceiling window behind Kingpin, after all, this floor could be considered the highest floor in this area.
If an ordinary person heard this knocking on the window now, they would probably scream.
"Looks like my boss is here." Fisk smiled at the people in front of him, then pressed a button on his desk, causing the floor-to-ceiling window behind him to slowly lower, letting the people outside in.
Diana glanced at Kingpin's somewhat dangerous situation, then noticed the man with the trident and became curious.
"To be honest, can you wield the trident and possess the power of Poseidon?" Diana carefully examined the pitchfork currently held against Kingpin's neck, since it did indeed resemble that thing.
"And why did you come to this universe?"
It's obvious that these guys aren't from this universe at all; they just look alike, at least they haven't changed their skin color.
Namor stared intently at the woman: "Who are you? Someone unique in this universe?"
“No, all universes are just copies of each other; there can’t be any unique individuals,” a man wearing a shirt with the number 4 printed on his chest retorted to his companion.
"Reed is right, so is this universe really our parallel world?"
“You are, Doctor Strange?” Diana walked behind Kingpin, pulling the big guy away from the threat of the trident. “If I remember correctly, Strange should still be a top surgeon in Manhattan right now.”
"A different timeline?" Diana smiled.
"Perhaps." Doctor Strange, draped in a red cape, seemed uninterested in answering Diana's question.
After all, they came here on important business.
“Although we don’t yet understand why someone we don’t know has appeared, but…” another guy spoke up at this moment, and it was clear he didn’t want to take his time discussing things like the others, “Don’t forget our purpose, okay?”
