How did the Cosmic Cube get taken away?

"You've been using that thing to represent the guy who took the Tesseract, which means you don't know what it is?" Diana was truly exasperated with the current state of S.H.I.E.L.D.

"All I can see is that she's wearing a layer of biological armor; I have no idea what's inside," was the only answer Hill could give Diana.

Having witnessed firsthand that alien species that didn't resemble humans at all, the fact that they can still maintain this state is already quite impressive.

"They're making biological weapons again." Diana didn't understand why these guys were so fond of using such useless things as their vanguard.

But the Apocalypse Demon is at least the strongest biological weapon in the entire universe. What kind of biological weapon does Thanos have?

They're just a bunch of the lowest-level interstellar legions.

"Have you ever seen anything like what we've seen, any kind of creature?" Natasha asked, noticing that Diana seemed quite used to such things.

“There are many. After all, these things can not only reveal the strength of a planet, but also transform the planet's native inhabitants into the next batch of biological weapons in their hands.” Diana shrugged. “It’s just that these things generally don’t have any rationality.”

"Wouldn't that easily get out of control?" Natasha seized on the biological weapon's lack of rationality. "Could we use that to make them fight amongst themselves or something?"

“I’m not your advisor,” Diana said, looking at Natasha. “I’ve already said a lot, even though I haven’t given you any clues about that thing.”

Diana was self-aware enough to only give people a basic introduction to biological weapons.

But given the current situation, Hill and Natasha don't have much time left.

Diana is now their only lifeline; having never fought in a war like this, they will only end up as skeletons lost somewhere.

Even if humanity launches an effective counterattack, it will probably be a scenario they will never witness.

Hill had no doubt that once the alien invasion began, the Security Council would use nuclear weapons to destroy the invaded area.

Regardless of how many people live there or what the consequences may be.

That's for sure.

“Name your terms,” Hill said to Diana.

Diana previously stated that she was not an advisor to S.H.I.E.L.D., meaning that they had no connection with Diana. She would help them once a connection was established between them.

"Really?" Diana smiled at Hill, a smile that, though gentle, made the two of them uneasy. "Are you sure you can make that decision?"

Hill nodded.

"I want you..." Diana pointed at the two people in front of her, but looking at their expressions, she could tell that they had probably gone astray.

"I want your space carrier, and everything on it." Diana stopped teasing them and stated what she wanted directly.

Hill was stunned when she heard what Diana wanted.

“None of you can operate that thing.” Hill hoped to use this weakness to discourage Diana’s covetousness of the space carrier.

But how could Diana possibly be stumped by the need for manpower, not to mention that one of the Insightful Ones was cursed with knowledge, and another was a super scientist with seven degrees?

How could this kind of thing not be resolved?

"Then you don't need to worry about it, just give it to me," Diana said with a smile to the two of them.

“Okay. I’ll try my best.” Hill agreed and prepared to leave with Natasha.

But Diana stopped her: "You're better than Fury; you didn't try to morally blackmail me. Otherwise, S.H.I.E.L.D. would have to get a new director again."

Hill: "..."

Chapter 113 The Chitauri of New York

After meeting Hill and Natasha that day, the two of them vanished as if they had disappeared into thin air. They never saw Diana again, nor spoke to her once more.

There has been absolutely no news.

As for Carol, she had returned to space, apparently needing her from some other planet. So, she left. Diana simply smiled at her friend's departure, knowing perfectly well what the woman was thinking.

Diana didn't care. Although the space carrier was just a fun toy to her, it represented cutting-edge technology for both S.H.I.E.L.D. and the Security Council. Why would they hand it over to Diana just because she wanted it?

Even if Diana helped them resist the alien invasion, that wasn't the reason she made such exorbitant demands.

Some in the Security Council saw Diana as making exorbitant demands.

Moreover, there's still no sign of the so-called alien invasion, so how can we be sure they can't launch an effective counterattack? If Earth has effective countermeasures against those alien invaders, it's impossible for it to abandon its current pinnacle of technology just because of the words of some guy who isn't even from this universe.

Despite Hill’s efforts at the meeting to tell them that all Earth could do now was to unite all forces, no one cared about a newly appointed director of S.H.I.E.L.D.

Simply because this director will help them clean up all the messes that S.H.I.E.L.D. currently has.

Until the mess at S.H.I.E.L.D. is cleaned up, Hill's position as director is not entirely deserved.

Diana spent a peaceful time picking up her children, watching boring TV or reading books at home, or going to see if Ares had lured any guys to Earth.

These days are great; there's nothing to worry about, except that Pietro sometimes doesn't want to do his homework. Everything is fine.

But everything changed completely today.

There was no energy shockwave, no fool shouting "I am God", and it wasn't located on Stark Tower, the tallest new building in New York.

They simply opened a huge spatial tunnel over New York City, big enough to encompass half of Manhattan, without anyone noticing.

Everything happened so suddenly, without any warning, and such a huge hole appeared in the sky.

While everyone was curiously watching the huge hole in the sky, Tony's call had already reached Diana's cell phone.

"Did you see that thing in the sky?" Tony asked anxiously. He was now certain that it wasn't some hidden secret.

"Oh my god!" Just as Tony and Diana were talking on the phone, some unidentified objects began to appear in the thing in the sky.

Like a swarm of alien locusts, they swept across New York City.

"Looks like not all of our alien friends are friendly guys," Tony joked, followed by the sound of the guy's armor being assembled.

It's obvious this guy is planning to deal with those guys who came out of the big hole.

"Be careful, your current armor doesn't have many offensive capabilities," Diana reminded Tony, who was about to go on a rampage.

“I’ve upgraded them again, and it’s a powerful upgrade.” Tony’s voice carried his unique confidence; he always had enough confidence in his armor. He wouldn’t make any further improvements unless someone directly breached his armor.

"Then all I can tell you is to be careful," Diana said with a smile.

"I'm Iron Man!"

Diana watched the red and gold figure rushing towards the void in the sky, without any intention of going over, and simply silently turned off the phone.

“Diana, don’t you want to go and take a look?” Wanda had naturally seen the spatial passage that had been hanging high in the sky, as well as the things flying out of it.

Moreover, they have already begun launching attacks on the surrounding areas.

New York has now become the focus of the world, and a super focus of attention for everyone in the world.

What could be more exciting than what's happening in New York right now?

No.

"Don't worry, it will be taken care of," Diana said, stroking the little one's hair.

The little witch said nothing more, only watching as New York City was completely turned into a battlefield.

"Kingpin, you should be ready by now." Diana picked up the phone again and dialed a number she hadn't called in a while.

Kingpin, on the other end of the phone, replied to Diana with a smile, "Everything is ready. We have people all over Manhattan handling things. To be honest, I really didn't expect this to actually happen, and to turn out like this."

Diana ignored Kingpin's surprise, as it did her no good: "Let's begin now. I have no interest in the businesses of those capitalists in Manhattan; I just want to do my best to protect their lives."

Kim Il-sung smiled on the other end of the line: "As you wish."

After receiving Kingpin's reply, Diana hung up the phone.

From this moment on, Kingpin would take on the task of evacuating people across most of New York City. Although they were gangsters, they now represented hope for survival.

After all, this is a real event, not just a scene that appears on the big screen.

Things won't turn out like in the movies. An alien invasion that only destroys a few blocks of Manhattan? Don't be ridiculous.

The battlefield can never be perfectly confined, with fighting confined to a few blocks, without any intention of expanding the battlefield to a point where humanity cannot possibly manage it.

"Wow! Diana, Diana!" The two little ones watched as a golden circle slowly emerged behind Diana, and then a bald man in a yellow monk's robe walked out of it.

“This is a really big deal,” said the Ancient One, who was also standing next to Diana.

"Do you know magic?" Wanda came to Diana's side, hiding half of her body behind Diana, and asked the Ancient One.

The Ancient One smiled and said to Wanda, "Yes, do you want to learn?"

Before Wanda could speak, Diana had already answered the Ancient One's question: "The guy you've got your eye on is in Manhattan. Aren't you going to go see him? If he dies, your retirement plans will be ruined."

“I think with your friend evacuating the crowd, he should be fine. Even if something does happen, it’s his fate.” Gu Yi continued to smile at Little Wanda, showing no sign of worry.

“That’s really pathetic, like a puppet on a string in your hands, including the big boss behind you.” Diana didn’t care at all whether the creditors behind the Ancient One would find out about these words, and even if they did, it didn’t matter.

The only possibility is that the Ancient One has quite a few creditors, which might make things a bit complicated. But there's only ever been one big boss, isn't there? In the end, she'll just end up being Eternal's happy little follower.

The Ancient One completely ignored Diana's seemingly disrespectful words, after all, she couldn't afford to offend Diana.

"Strange will become the best among us, that's an unchangeable trajectory." The Ancient One smiled and drew a golden portal before leaving.

Wanda, meanwhile, remained in shock as she watched the two magical portals gradually dissipate.

"Diana, can I learn?" Wanda asked Diana with a hopeful look on her face.

After all, the little witch herself possesses magic, or rather, the little witch is born with the power to obtain some power from those creditors.

That is, magic.

“Sure, no problem. But I don’t think their magic might be suitable for you. You need the right way to use your power.” Diana smiled and patted Wanda’s head.

"When can I learn that circle-drawing magic?" Little Wanda still couldn't stop thinking about the Ancient One's teleportation magic. After all, who could resist drawing circles in the air and getting wherever they wanted? This was fantastic for Wanda; who would refuse such magical magic?

"Very soon."

“Okay!” Little Wanda left Diana’s side and returned to the living room to watch the footage that was being broadcast on every channel: the super battle in New York.

The skies over New York are no longer filled with the usual planes and various flights. Instead, they are swarms of Chitauri, like locusts, and Leviathans serving as Chitauri troop transports.

The same group of people who appeared also turned into superheroes that no one had ever seen before.
