It's like a child's toy being violently dismantled.
Diana slowly dissipated her lightning, and the once raging sea of lightning seemed to have never existed, disappearing into the starry sky.
Carol, radiating a rainbow of light, stopped beside Diana. Looking at the Kree ships now reduced to space debris, she could only shake her head, gesturing for Diana to return to Earth with her.
Seeing the two figures landing in the distance, Yon Roger mustered his courage and stepped out to face them.
The two men showed absolutely no reaction to Yon Roger's appearance.
“You shouldn’t have wiped them all out.” Carol could only shake her head in distress.
Diana, however, maintained her warm smile: "They've already reached Earth; I don't think I need to show any mercy to people like that."
"But you will drag Earth into a cosmic war that it has absolutely no chance of winning."
“If they dare to come with fists and weapons,” Diana’s beautiful eyes flashed with a chilling coldness, “I will make them stay in this galaxy forever, forever, forever, so that they may become guiding lights for those who come after.”
Carroll never expected that this woman, who had always appeared gentle, would be so assertive.
“Similarly, if they come to Earth with friendly intentions, Earth will treat them kindly.” Diana’s gaze drifted into the distance. “Alright, go take care of your business. See you at Maria’s house.”
Diana leaped into the air and disappeared from the sky.
After all, Carroll still had something to say to that Kree.
Chapter 11 Parting Ways (Signed)
In Brooklyn, New York, a four-story building with a Greek flair always catches the eye.
However, this decorating style, which is clearly out of place with the surroundings, unexpectedly exudes a sense of peace.
Inside the house, however, the scene was quite different. The tall figure was coldly staring at the man in the black trench coat in front of her.
“I’m sorry, Diana. But this is for the safety of the world, and I hope you will agree.” Nick Fury said to the perfect beauty in front of him with a deep expression.
Diana looked at this guy who was completely different from thirteen years ago and said, "I never thought that thirteen years could turn a person into this."
Nick Fury showed no shame whatsoever; as the king of spies, he was used to such stares.
The two people who could have a pleasant conversation thirteen years ago now seem like complete adversaries.
It's 2008 now.
That's right, thirteen years have passed since 1995, and Carol has been gone from Earth for thirteen years.
Since Carol left Earth, Nick Fury seems to have completely changed into a different person—suspicious, cunning, and ruthless...
Diana had lost count of how many times, or perhaps dozens of times, he had arranged for agents to monitor her, as if she were meant to be watched over by them like a caged wild animal.
“You should know how dangerous your powers are on Earth.” Nick Fury stood by the window, his back to Diana, and said something that Diana found incomprehensible.
Diana sat on the sofa and quietly watched Nick Fury.
“Furthermore, I can’t be sure if you would destroy the Earth for any reason.” Nick Fury turned around and stared intently at Diana with his only remaining eye. “I can’t let a humanoid tactical nuclear bomb roam freely on Earth. That would be irresponsible to everyone, and I hope you can understand.”
"After all, there's a parallel universe version of you in DC comics where you destroyed Earth and even killed Superman. Even if the odds are only one in ten million, I still have to be wary of you doing something like that."
Diana simply watched quietly as Nick Fury finished speaking.
"Are you done talking?" Diana's calm voice was tinged with resentment.
Nick Fury looked at Diana calmly, and no one could tell what emotion was on his already dark face, after all, there was nothing that could be done about racial traits.
"I'm really curious whether the Nick Fury you portrayed back then was an act, or something else entirely?" Diana's gaze passed over Nick Fury and looked toward the rooftop of a tall building in the distance.
On the distant rooftop, Hawkeye felt as if he had been instantly thrown onto a battlefield of blood and fire. A chilling coldness completely enveloped him, as if he would be annihilated by something at any moment.
His intuition told him that shooting the person opposite Nick Fury would eliminate the source of his fear, but Hawkeye Clint managed to suppress this intense urge with his strong rationality.
Another agent, who shared the same feelings as Hawkeye, lacked Hawkeye's strong willpower, or perhaps had other motives, and quickly pulled the trigger with his right index finger.
"boom!"
By the time everyone realized what had happened, the bullet, the .50 caliber bullet, had already struck Diana in the forehead.
The gunshot was like a pebble breaking the surface of a calm lake, except now it wasn't creating ripples, but rather the sound of a raging storm on the sea.
"Who fired the shot! Who fired the shot!" Coulson and a group of agents rushed into the room where the two had been talking and protected Nick Fury.
Even if Coulson shouted into his headset, no one was in the mood to respond to him at a time like this.
Because everyone understands this time that if they can't handle this, then all their past actions will become S.H.I.E.L.D.'s death warrant.
“Miss Prince, believe me, this is an accidental discharge! This is an accidental discharge!” Coulson shouted at the girl who was slowly standing up.
The quiet night in Brooklyn was shattered by this gunshot.
"Is this what you mean, Nicholas Joseph Fury?" Diana stood up, her words devoid of emotion, only chilling, like a cold wind blowing across her face.
Coulson shivered. The words were too cold, making it impossible to connect them with the girl who always had a smile on her lips.
Coulson frantically winked at his superior, urging him to explain quickly, or they would all be finished.
“You’re too dangerous, Diana.” Nick Fury remained unmoved as he spoke to Diana, his face still devoid of any emotion. “I cannot allow someone like you to remain out of our control. If you get out of control, countless ordinary people will lose their lives and homes. This is my duty; I am responsible for humanity on Earth.”
Nick Fury took two steps forward, facing Diana directly.
"You need to understand, I can't just put the safety of the Earth aside like this. You are a greater potential threat than those mutants!"
"Is this war?" Diana was tall enough to look Nick Fury in the eye, and her brown eyes no longer revealed that gentle look, but a deep coldness.
“I once abandoned humanity because of people like you, who always want to stir up trouble. You disappointed me. I thought you wouldn’t be like the Nick Fury I remembered, but I found out I was wrong.”
"Now, I will abandon you. Remember this: from now on, S.H.I.E.L.D. and I, Diana Prince, daughter of Themyscira, will always be mortal enemies!"
"You want war? I'll give you war!"
After speaking, Diana vanished from the agents' sight, the empty space above her head clearly indicating where she had left from.
Just as Coulson wanted to say something to his bald-headed boss.
Diana reappeared before them.
When Diana reappeared, her white women's suit was stained with patches of red, and the strong smell of blood constantly stimulated the senses of every agent present.
Diana threw a severed head at Nick Fury's feet.
The head, along with a small section of the spine, came into everyone's view.
Even seasoned, battle-hardened agents couldn't control themselves, and the sounds of vomiting constantly agitated Nick Fury's already tense nerves.
Diana patted Nick Fury with her blood-stained hand.
"Now, the war has begun. Don't worry, from now on, if I find out that any S.H.I.E.L.D. personnel are monitoring me, I'll go back and take out your last eye and feed it to Googo."
"Although I really want to twist your head off, for the sake of Carol and Coulson, I'll give you a period of peace. From now on, wherever I appear, S.H.I.E.L.D. will disappear from my sight."
Diana turned and headed towards her bedroom, which was probably the last night she would sleep in this house.
"Do you want me to see them out?" Diana asked, stopping as she saw the agents showed no sign of moving.
"No, we're leaving now." Nick Fury simply led his agents away from Diana's residence.
Colson, who was at the back, bowed apologetically to Diana.
Diana simply closed the door, shutting out all eyes to her.
Nick Fury, who had just left Diana's residence, hadn't expected things to escalate to this point. He got back into the S.H.I.E.L.D. car and glanced at the DC Wonder Woman comic he had left there.
“Tell the purchasing department to stop buying Wonder Woman comics,” Nick Fury said to Coulson. “I still consider her just a two-dimensional character from the comics.”
"Sir, this time there's truly no chance of reconciliation between us." Coulson could only manage an awkward smile.
Nick Fury didn't say anything about the matter, but simply closed his eyes and said calmly, "Notify the Science Department to complete the development of weapons using the Cosmic Cube as soon as possible."
Only then did Nick Fury pull his hand out of his coat pocket, where he kept his last bit of confidence when facing Diana: Captain Marvel's pager.
At that moment, Coulson turned to Nick Fury and told him some bad news.
“Sir, Tony Stark has disappeared in Afghanistan.”
"Mazefak!"
Chapter 12 The Curtain Rises
"Sir, do we need it?" Coulson gestured with his eyes towards the white Greek-style building.
Nick Fury nodded: "But it doesn't look like it will work today. I'll send her a message tomorrow."
Sighing, Coulson was helpless. He was the first to oppose S.H.I.E.L.D.'s actions against Diana, but he was powerless to stop it. Even his suggestion to negotiate was rejected by his boss.
"I think Miss Prince might not agree."
Nick Fury didn't say anything after hearing Coulson's words, but simply gestured for the agent acting as the driver to drive away.
Eagle Eye, however, was rinsing his mouth with water in the distance.
Hawkeye glanced at the house from afar and realized that from now on, this place would basically be off-limits to them.
Because of his exceptional eyesight, he witnessed the entire process of how Diana ripped the unfortunate man's head off.
I can only say that I probably won't be able to get a good night's sleep for the next few days.
The feeling was truly unimaginable; he couldn't even detect any pain on the unfortunate man's face. It all happened so fast; his brain probably hadn't even had time to process it.
After packing his things, Hawkeye slowly disappeared into the vast night.
Diana stood by her bedroom window, arms crossed, her beautiful eyes devoid of any emotion.
He turned around and walked towards the bathroom, feeling quite uncomfortable covered in blood.
Just as S.H.I.E.L.D. and Diana had completely broken up, some people had already received news of the split between the two sides.
“It seems our plan has indeed succeeded in part.” Sitting in the Tri-Wing Building, Alexander Pierce swirled the champagne glass in his hand, looking out from his office at the White House, the highest authority in the United States.
"We will succeed."
Pierce raised his glass and gestured towards the distance, as if toasting someone, before downing the champagne in one gulp.
When Diana opened her eyes again, sunlight was already shining on the white blankets.
The sunlight and the blankets accentuated her beautiful curves, making her even more alluring.
After washing up, Diana decided not to have breakfast at home.
