They can even clean their own floors thoroughly.
"No need to change the floor." Diana was simply happy that she didn't need to change the floor.
Diana picked up Gugu and sat quietly on the terrace outside her apartment, watching the view of Central Park and the slowly setting sun on the horizon.
Meanwhile, at S.H.I.E.L.D., they had become even more interested in the five corpses in front of them.
By any means of testing, these people are unmistakably human. Even the cross-sections cut open by a sharp instrument reveal that their internal structure is identical to that of a human body.
However, Thor's attitude when he saw these things clearly proved that this prince of Asgard knew who these people were.
“I’m sorry, sir, we don’t currently have the technology to analyze this kind of thing,” a science agent said to Nick Fury.
Nick Fury simply nodded; he didn't know what it was, but someone else did.
Thor looked at the corpses with a sorrowful expression, including his uncle whom he had known since childhood. But now, he was just a corpse lying in front of him.
“You know what they are, right?” Nick Fury walked up to Thor.
Nick Fury waved his hand, dismissing all the Science Department agents around him who were taking samples.
“Ginger, my very good uncle. I always followed him around when I was a kid.” Thor said, pointing to the Indian man who had been torn apart by Diana’s sword.
“Hmm,” Nick Fury hadn’t expected these guys to have anything to do with someone who had lived for 1,500 years, even longer than Thor. “Looks like I still know too little.”
"I'm going to find her." Thor suddenly turned to leave to search for Diana.
"What's the point of you going to find her?" Nick Fury didn't intend to stop Thor, but he at least wanted to find out what these corpses were, or rather, what kind of aliens they were.
"They had no reason to go to war with her, so how did she manage to kill them?" Thor roared angrily at Nick Fury. He couldn't understand why Diana would suddenly turn on these guys who had been hiding on Earth.
“Listen, Thor, what’s the point of you going to see her now?” Nick Fury repeated his question.
Thor himself knew that approaching Diana so rashly would only lead to two possible outcomes.
First, I was met with a closed door.
Second, they were beaten up and then thrown out.
To this day, no one knows why this happened, and S.H.I.E.L.D. has no way of knowing why Diana and they had a conflict.
Thor was even less likely to know.
“Calm down and tell me, who are these people?” Nick Fury patted Thor on the shoulder.
“OK.” Thor could only suppress his emotions and said to Nick Fury, “They are called the Eternals. They claim to be a friendly race that came to protect the Earth and help humanity develop.”
“A helpful race,” Nick Fury said somewhat ambivalently.
“Yes, they even helped us fight against Jotunheim’s invasion of the other nine realms. But I just can’t understand why they died like this in the end.” Thor grabbed his hair in anguish and slowly squatted down on the ground.
Nick Fury didn't comfort Thor either; he just stood there with a sullen face, lost in thought.
There are more and more things appearing in this world.
Time slowly passed as Nick Fury pondered and Thor grieved.
Of course, while S.H.I.E.L.D. was studying the Eternals' corpses, the military was also studying the five corpses they had, but their method of studying these things was quite crude.
They brought in a death row inmate, and after a blood type match, they injected the corpse's blood into the inmate's body.
Through the protective glass, military researchers watched as the machine injected the tube of red blood into the condemned prisoner's body.
There was no reaction; it was as if the death row inmate had just received a blood transfusion.
However, it did not react in any special way, and it couldn't even turn into a green giant.
Just when all the military researchers were disappointed, a change occurred.
The death row inmate, infused with the blood of the Eternals, swelled like a child's inflated balloon, until finally—"Boom!"
It turned into a pile of blood and flesh.
This result undoubtedly means that their crude experiment failed, but it was also a success.
At least they learned that those corpses contained energy they could not even imagine.
If this energy could be controlled, or even weaponized, America's military power would reach a new level.
But what they don't know is that if they actually do that, it only means one thing.
They will send signals to other civilizations, and Earth is now prepared to wage war against them.
This will only attract more attention to this place.
A weak planet.
Chapter 67 Banner the Insightful
As dawn broke, Diana arrived at the Insightful One's Quiet Room.
There are currently only two people being held here.
One was Hercules, who was fast asleep, and the other...
"Hey! Who are you people?" Bruce Banner pounded on the glass-like cell door in front of him, but it seemed to be made of a single piece of steel. "Where am I?"
“Hello, Mr. Bruce Banner.” Diana completely understood Banner’s excitement; after all, no one wants to wake up in a place that is clearly similar to a prison.
"This is the Insightful One's quiet room, or you could say it's the Insightful One's containment room for a select group of people."
Banner had never heard of this so-called Insightful One. It could be said that ever since his battle with Abomination, when he was knocked unconscious by that woman in Greek armor, he had not had any contact with the outside world.
"What are the Insightful Ones? And what kind of special organization are they?" Banner clearly didn't understand what Diana was saying.
Diana rubbed her head helplessly; this was normal. After all, Bruce Banner had been unconscious since being taken down, and it was Diana's fault for being a bit too rough. Both Hulk and Banner had been unconscious for at least seven days.
That was just enough time for Tony Stark to fix up the quiet room and let him in.
"Tony, didn't you install a TV or anything for them?" Hearing the gate behind her open, Diana knew exactly who had come in.
After all, besides Diana, Tony is the only other person in the Insightful Room right now.
Normally, everything here is handled by Jarvis and some robots.
"I haven't thought about that. After all, they are containment objects, and they don't really need to know anything." Tony felt that his design was normal, since in the future, what would be held here might very well be a group of alien beings who don't speak Earth's language.
What's the point of having a TV? They can't understand it anyway.
Should we show them some simple and easy-to-understand physiological films?
I doubt they would understand it either.
"Come on, even prisons have time for exercise and leisure. Give them a TV, what if they could all speak Earth?" Diana said, spreading her hands.
“Good suggestion, I’ll install it for them next time.” Tony didn’t object at all, he just nodded.
"Wait, you're Tony Stark?" Banner, locked in the detention cell, clearly recognized Tony and was quite surprised. Could this so-called Insightful One really have managed to get an American billionaire involved?
“It’s a pleasure to meet you, Dr. Banner.” Tony said as he walked up to Banner’s cell. “Your achievements in the field of positron collisions are truly unparalleled. I’m also a huge fan of yours, especially when you get angry, you can turn into a giant green monster.”
Upon hearing Tony's words, Bruce Banner truly didn't know whether to laugh or cry. A renowned genius and billionaire admitted to being his biggest fan, but the fan was of that green behemoth he disliked.
"Thank you," Banner could only say bitterly.
"So, what should I ask? Where is this place? And what is an Insightful Being?" Banner finally had a chance to interject.
"Well, how should I put it?" Tony told Diana that since she had no intention of answering Banner's question, she would have to answer it herself. "Well, how should I put it?"
"Could Insight be considered a privately-owned peace company, dedicated to defending against all potential threats from outer space?" Tony said, then looked at Diana. "Am I right?"
"Pretty much." Diana shrugged.
"So, wouldn't this be considered...?" Banner pointed to the walls around him, "...unlawful detention?"
Tony shook his head: "No, no, no, this is just a form of protection for us."
Banner could only reluctantly agree with Tony's statement. After all, the thing inside him could easily harm those around him. It was only natural for him to be wary of him.
But when he saw Diana standing to the side with her arms crossed, Banner still spoke up.
“I can feel that the guy inside me has a deep fear of that woman. What did she do?” Banner pointed at Diana and said to Tony.
Tony organized his thoughts and looked at Banner with some hesitation.
Tony's condition was so obvious that Banner felt that anything he didn't know was probably not a good thing.
“It’s okay, I can handle it.” Banner nodded to Tony. “After all, this isn’t my problem, it’s the monster inside me.”
“Okay.” Tony could only say to Banner in his almost sarcastic language, “Diana just knocked your green friend from the sky to the ground, and he even vomited his shit.”
"That's really bad." Banner covered his face. Although he understood that the truth might be different from what Tony said, he at least understood why Hulk was afraid of Diana.
Diana had been quietly listening to the conversation between the two men, but now she couldn't hold back anymore. What did they mean by "hitting Hulk's... you know"? That was disgusting.
“I didn’t, I would never do something so disgusting,” Diana retorted to Tony. “But the fighting from the sky to the ground is definitely true.”
Banner smiled silently, a bright and cheerful smile.
Tony was a little confused as to why Banner could laugh about something like this.
"Dude, I might not understand your thought process. Why are you still laughing after you got beaten up?" Tony tapped his head and asked Bruce Banner, quite puzzled.
Banner simply smiled and replied to Tony, "Mr. Stark, you don't know. I once lost all hope in my life when I tried to commit suicide, to shoot myself."
Banner paused, but it was clear that Tony didn't have the patience to listen to Banner's broken sentences.
"Then?"
“Hulk, spit the bullet out of your mouth,” Banner said, resting his chin on his hand. “Now you tell me that someone can make Hulk fear you, even stop him from coming out so easily. That makes me really happy.”
“Okay, although I still really like your big green monster form.” Tony finished speaking and looked at Diana, “Will that big green guy ever appear again?”
"Maybe." Diana shrugged. She didn't particularly dislike the Hulk; at least he was a cute big guy.
As long as he can be controlled, he's just a big little kid.
Now, Diana is the one who can perfectly control the Hulk.
“Then we…” Tony pointed to Bruce Banner in the cage and made a unlocking motion.
Banner also saw Tony's hand gesture and looked at the woman who was clearly the leader.
“I’m fine with anything, after all, he’s a highly intelligent person. He’ll be very useful to us.” Diana walked up to Bruce Banner. “Besides, he has a big guy inside him, doesn’t he? We won’t need a demolition crew to take things apart anymore.”
Diana clapped her hands, and the once steel-like glass door vanished before Banner's eyes, appearing as a puddle of water.
