So, is it highly likely that New York in the future will face a nuclear crisis?

Nuclear bombs are no joke. Once they explode, an entire city can be razed to the ground, and no one can escape.

It can absolutely be called a disaster.

"An alien invasion wasn't enough, now there's a nuclear crisis. Has God abandoned us?" Iron Man's expression was also somewhat grim.

Even if he is Iron Man, there is nothing he can do in the face of a nuclear crisis.

The information revealed by this question is not good.

Only Black Widow looked completely bewildered.

She glanced at Nick Fury, then at Iron Man, still unable to understand why these two men looked so grim when it was just a math problem.

Moreover, the question itself is quite strange, with a question stem that has no beginning or end, and options that have no beginning or end, leaving people completely baffled.

They even give out Mark armor blueprints as a reward? Are you serious?

"Romanov, what do you think?"

Nick Fury didn't answer immediately, but instead looked at Black Widow and asked, "If New York were to face a nuclear crisis someday, who do you think would be able to resolve it?"

"Sir, launching a nuclear missile is a very complicated process. Simply using the phrase 'nuclear crisis' is far too simplistic and crude."

Black Widow pondered for a moment and said, "These four words reveal too little information to be effectively analyzed."

“Then let’s analyze all the possibilities.” Nick Fury nodded, taking over Black Widow’s words.

"There are two possibilities for a 'nuclear crisis': one is that the nuclear missile enters the launch process, but the launch is ultimately interrupted and the nuclear missile is not launched."

"The other possibility is that the nuclear missile has already been successfully launched."

"Both of these possibilities can be described as a nuclear crisis."

The situation of launching a nuclear bomb versus not launching one is completely different.

If the nuclear missile is only in the launch phase, there is still a possibility that the launch process could be interrupted by various factors, thus terminating the launch.

Countless movies have depicted this scenario: a nuclear launch is aborted in the final seconds of the countdown, saving all of humanity.

If that's the case, then things become much more complicated.

This involves a complex interplay of various forces and competitions, and cannot be answered by a few people standing here and making assumptions out of thin air.

Once a nuclear missile is launched, there is virtually no way to stop it.

While it is theoretically feasible to intercept launched nuclear missiles, in practice it is not so simple.

In reality, intercepting a launched nuclear missile is virtually impossible.

unless……

It is a higher-level method that goes beyond modern military technology!

Chapter 021 Another Alien War?

"That makes sense!"

Iron Man simply nodded noncommittally at Nick Fury's words, offering no further comment.

Black Widow joined in earnestly, supplementing Nick Fury's analysis.

"If it's the first scenario, the nuclear missile has already entered the launch process, but it was forcibly stopped... Sir, this is not something one person can do."

"First, he needs to have extremely formidable informants who can obtain information from the White House or the Pentagon."

"Furthermore, he needs to be fully aware of the entire launch process in order to make the necessary deployments and arrangements, which means he has accurate and extensive intelligence sources."

"Finally, he needed an exceptionally skilled rapid response team to carry out this impossible mission under his orders."

"Sir, to put it simply, this requires a very capable person to lead a well-trained team."

"Of these four options, only you, sir, meet the requirements."

“I can do all of this by myself,” Iron Man interjected arrogantly.

Black Widow rolled her eyes, completely ignoring Iron Man, that arrogant jerk.

Even though she admired Iron Man as a rare technological genius, she didn't believe he could do such a thing.

Putting everything else aside, the order to launch a nuclear missile is not some gossip news item readily available online, so there's no way Iron Man would have known about it.

"If it is the second scenario, and the nuclear missile has already been launched, then there is basically no possibility of it being intercepted."

"Unless, someone possesses power beyond that of conventional interception systems."

At this point, Black Widow glanced at Iron Man and said, "If that's the case, I think only this megalomaniac could do that."

Iron Man possesses cutting-edge technology, so if we're talking about who has the best chance of intercepting a launched nuclear missile, it's undoubtedly Iron Man.

“Or it could be Thor,” Nick Fury added from the side. “If the other party is really a legendary god, it wouldn’t be surprising if he had such abilities.”

Black Widow shrugged and remained silent, indicating her agreement.

That's a god, a god who transcends humanity. Solving a nuclear crisis would be a natural thing for him.

"So, in that case, we've only eliminated option C, Agent Romanov." Nick Fury was slightly exasperated.

The questions in this quiz system are rather unrigorous.

However, this does indeed corroborate Coulson's inference that answering questions may not be the goal; the true purpose of the question-and-answer system is to inform people about the future in this way.

“Tony Stark, you haven’t really said anything.” Nick Fury then turned his gaze to Iron Man.

In fact, if Iron Man were to follow his original personality, he would have made his choice long ago. Who among Thor, Nick Fury, and Black Widow could be as powerful as him?

No one but Iron Man could have accomplished such a superheroic feat as saving the entire city of New York.

But after experiencing the quiz last time and witnessing the rewards and punishments of the quiz system firsthand, he naturally put away that casual attitude.

This is not a question to be taken lightly.

Answering incorrectly could come at a terrible price!

Therefore, Iron Man has always been thinking seriously and trying to analyze things.

“I’m thinking about what kind of war this Battle of New York should be,” Iron Man said thoughtfully to Nick Fury.

"So... what came to mind?" Nick Fury stared intently at Iron Man with his one eye, seeking his opinion.

Iron Man is an old hand who has participated in a round of quizzes before, so he naturally has more experience in this area than Nick Fury.

"If we only look at the question stem, the information given is too little. We can only speculate that this is a war that took place in New York. We can't get any other information."

"However, if we look at the options together, something might happen."

"If the four people in the question—me, Nick Fury, this female agent, and Thor—all participated in this 'Battle of New York,' what kind of war would it be?"

Black Widow, standing to the side, couldn't help but feel that something was amiss.

The way Iron Man talks makes it sound like the Battle of New York mentioned in the title actually happened.

"Thor is a god. To some extent, we can consider him an alien. A war in which even an alien participates is obviously not an ordinary war."

"Most likely, this is a war involving aliens, which may be an alien invasion of New York."

Iron Man continued to speak eloquently.

In the past, he certainly wouldn't have come to the conclusion that aliens invaded Earth.

However, after the previous round of questions, Iron Man's mindset underwent a significant broadening and transformation.

He knew that an alien invasion of Earth was not something impossible.

Just like the final battle of the previous round of questions, Thor should have joined the Earth Alliance to fight against Thanos, an even more powerful alien.

Even Iron Man speculated that this so-called Battle of New York might be a battlefield in the Endgame.

Nick Fury nodded again.

As the director of S.H.I.E.L.D., his perspective was already extraordinary, and he had even personally experienced similar events, so he was naturally more able to understand Iron Man's seemingly absurd words than the average person.

"Considering that aliens probably wouldn't know how to use nuclear weapons, this nuclear weapon was most likely launched by us Earthlings."

"So the question is, why do we launch nuclear missiles?"

"It is obvious that we Earthlings are at a disadvantage in this war, and are even about to lose, which is why the higher-ups launched nuclear missiles, intending to use this extreme method to eliminate the alien army."

"This is what the title refers to as the 'nuclear crisis,' because nuclear bombs would not only wipe out the alien army, but also raze New York to the ground."

"And one of us four stepped forward to prevent this from happening and resolved the nuclear crisis."

“That sounds reasonable.” Nick Fury nodded. “If all four of us had participated in that great war, my most likely role would have been to command the operations!”

"Then I can rule that out too."

"Because it's impossible for me to command a war against aliens while simultaneously planning an operation to stop a nuclear missile launch."

"So now, we only have two options left." Black Widow glanced at Iron Man. "Is it you, or Thor from the myths and legends?"

Chapter 022 The nuclear bomb was launched by S.H.I.E.L.D.!

"Although Thor is a god, I still think the answer is very likely me."

Under the watchful eyes of Black Widow and Nick Fury, Iron Man spoke eloquently, analyzing the situation with reason and evidence.

"After all, even gods are not omnipotent! 'Thor,' just from the name, you know he is a god who can control lightning."

"But nuclear bombs cannot be intercepted simply by manipulating lightning. If things go wrong, Thor might even cause the nuclear bomb to explode prematurely."

"Gods have their realm, and scientists have theirs. Clearly, intercepting nuclear missiles does not belong to the realm of gods, but rather to the realm of scientists!"

"If I had to choose between Thor and myself as the most likely person to intercept a nuclear missile, I'd choose myself!"

After saying that, Iron Man didn't waste any more words. He faced the screen and gave his answer, "I choose B, Iron Man!"

Nick Fury and Black Widow stared intently at Iron Man, wondering what would happen if he answered correctly.

Will that so-called random Mark armor blueprint actually appear?
