A Bite of Douluo Continent

As the end of the digestive system, think about what the large intestine comes into contact with.

A dish of juicy, bursting fatty intestines might subconsciously evoke some unpleasant associations.

You taste, you taste carefully.

Chapter 42 This is very systematic

"System, how long have I been in the training space?"

[Ten days have passed since the pan-fried honey-glazed ribs were successfully included.]

Ten days?

Qi Han seemed to be deep in thought.

Ten days, converted to outside time, is no more than eight hours, and in such a short time, I have already completed the recipe for "bursting fatty intestines".

It seems my previous estimate was wrong; completing these two recipes won't take two days, one day is enough.

Even if the brain takes twice as long as the bursting intestines, it will only take sixteen hours.

Taking out a fresh piece of badger brain, Qi Han began a new experiment.

...

[Congratulations, host, on successfully creating your own recipe. This recipe has been rated as a one-star recipe by the system, with a score of 60 points. Please name the recipe.]

"60 points?" Looking at the brain he had already eaten clean, Qi Han showed a look of unsatisfaction. "Let's call it foil-baked brain."

[One-star recipe: Baked pig brains in tin foil, successfully added to the collection!]

This recipe took Qi Han a long time to complete, for a simple reason: he was obsessed with it.

They are obsessed with using new ingredients and new cooking methods to improve their ratings.

But new doesn't necessarily mean suitable, and being overly obsessed with innovation isn't always a good thing.

Despite using various ingredients and coming up with all sorts of imaginative ways to prepare it, nothing beats the simplest way to bake pig brains in tin foil.

"System, what are the scoring details?"

The evaluation details are as follows:

Taste (out of 40): 40 points

Originality of ingredients (out of 20): 10 points

Originality of approach (out of 20): 5 points

Cooking difficulty (out of 20): 5

Total: 60 points

The taste was perfect, but the foil-baked pig brain was terrifying.

Because all the ingredients used were familiar from Blue Star, the originality of the ingredients was only 10 points, while the 5 points for the method were entirely due to his slight modification of the method for roasting pig brains.

A recipe like foil-baked pig brains, which only requires preparing the ingredients and paying attention to the heat, is not very difficult and therefore cannot score points in terms of cooking difficulty.

These are the reasons why this recipe received a low rating.

Even so, it still can't hide how delicious this recipe is.

This was destined to be an unforgettable lesson for Qi Han. There is no such thing as complete innovation in this world. The ultimate goal of all recipes is to make food more delicious.

[Does the host wish to continue creating new recipes? Currently available recipes include: Pan-fried Honey Ribs (one-star recipe), Bursting Pork Intestines (one-star recipe), and Foil-baked Pig Brains (one-star recipe). The host can choose one as the basis for receiving a reward.]

Qi Han remained silent for a moment. There was only one day left, and he didn't have enough time to create a new one-star recipe. If he didn't submit the Exploding Fatty Intestine, he would probably have to find another opportunity to come to the Forest of Kalai next time.

"System, how much reward can I get for 82 points?"

[A one-star recipe score of 82 points will yield the following rewards: Soul Power Level +4, one two-star selectable recipe fragment, and the advancement title: Junior Chef with corresponding privileges.]

"Is there an even higher reward?"

[A score of 90-99 for a one-star recipe will grant the following rewards: +5 Soul Power Level, 2 two-star selectable recipe fragments, and the promotion title: Junior Chef with corresponding privileges.]

[A one-star recipe score of 100 points will grant the following rewards: Soul Power Level +8, 3 two-star selectable recipe fragments, 2 three-star selectable recipe fragments, and the promotion title: Junior Chef with corresponding privileges.]

Qi Han gave a bitter smile.

Knowing the system's scoring principles, Qi Han was even more aware that it would be extremely difficult to get a score of 90 or higher, let alone 100.

Perhaps with some more time and practice, I can eventually reach a score of 90 or above. As for 100?

It's practically impossible to get it.

However, comparing the rewards for scores above 90 with the current rewards, the only difference is one more level of Soul Power and one more two-star selectable recipe fragment.

"Submit it, submit a one-star recipe: Bursting Fatty Intestines."

Qi Han ultimately made this choice.

Rather than wasting time in the Forest of Kalai for this small reward, Qi Han decided to submit it directly.

Although the reward was a little less, Qi Han didn't feel like he had lost much, thinking that the shop would soon have three more of his self-created one-star recipes.

Submission successful!

Promotion Quest: Light of Innovation (Completed)

Task Rewards: Soul Power Level +4 (Claimable), 2-Star Selectable Recipe Fragment x1 (Claimable), Advancement Title: Novice Chef and Corresponding Privileges (Claimable).

Without hesitation, Qi Han chose to receive the soul power first.

His soul power is already at level seventeen. With four more levels, he can directly break through to level twenty, which is the most important thing for him.

Stepping out of the system space, a large amount of spiritual energy from heaven and earth converged towards Qi Han. His body was like a black hole, frantically absorbing the spiritual energy from heaven and earth around him. His soul power automatically circulated within him, transforming the absorbed spiritual energy into soul power, increasing his soul power realm at a visible speed.

I'm at level 20.

[The host has reached a bottleneck and needs to acquire a soul ring to continue increasing soul power. Remaining soul power level rewards will be retained and used automatically after the breakthrough.]

【Ding! 】

[Mission triggered!]

Limited-time mission: Ingredient Acquisition II

Please travel to Sunset Forest within five days and defeat the century-old soul beast, the Skylark, on your own.

Mission Description: It's time to free the Five-Colored Golden Pheasant from its misery! Skylark, prepare to die!

Task Rewards: System Soul Ring x1, Two-Star Recipe: Kung Pao Chicken.

Quest Item: Sunset Forest Skylark Soul Beast Distribution Map.

Qi Han fell silent for a moment.

"System, have you been letting yourself go a bit too far lately?"

【No.】

"Then what the hell is this task description?"

[This system doesn't know what to write and is too embarrassed to directly copy the previous text, so please don't mind.]

Qi Han: ? ? ?

The system soul ring was as Qi Han expected, but his focus was mainly on another mission reward.

Two-star recipe: Kung Pao Chicken.

This is a real gem! As a famous dish that can be enjoyed in ordinary households as well as served at state banquets, Kung Pao Chicken is renowned. I never expected that this mission reward would be it.

Qi Han has been in the Kalai Forest for five days, and including the time spent traveling here, it has been seven days.

Sunset Forest is outside of Tiandou City, but it's relatively close to Tiandou City. You can take a detour from Kalai City to Tiandou City, and then return to Shrek Academy from Tiandou City. Three days should be enough time.

With this thought in mind, Qi Han quickly headed towards Kalai City outside the Kalai Forest, and casually collected the remaining two rewards from the advancement quest.

Qi Han has collected four two-star selectable recipe fragments, enough to exchange for a two-star recipe. According to Qi Han's previous plan, he was going to exchange for the complete hot pot base recipe, but that's not urgent now.

I haven't learned how to hide a sheep in a fish's belly yet, so all other recipes are temporarily unavailable for collection and redemption.

Congratulations, host! You have successfully advanced to the level of Junior Chef and have gained the following privileges:

1. The host has the right to name the shop.

2. One-star recipes will no longer appear in random recipe drops.

3. The training spacetime flow rate becomes 60:1.

"Click." Qi Han paused, somewhat taken aback.

"System, why didn't you mention this third point before?"

[This system forgot!]

【Justified and confident.jpg】

Very good, that's a good system.

Chapter Forty-Three: The Skylark

Although the system didn't say it, Qi Han was still quite happy to know that the time flow rate in the training space would be further improved.

This means that I can practice the recipes faster in the training space and master the fish-belly-with-sheep technique as soon as possible.

As the system tasks were completed, the number of recipes obtained as rewards increased, which still caught Qi Han somewhat off guard, given his current training speed of 30:1.

The two-star recipes that are already available for redemption are: Hot Pot Base Recipe Collection and Kung Pao Chicken, which is a reward for completing the limited-time task of obtaining ingredients.

There are several other recipes waiting in line.

Sigh, too many rewards can be a problem.

Qi Versailles Han is now online!

...

It's not easy to find caravans traveling from big cities to small cities, but caravans traveling from small cities to big cities happen almost every day.

Qi Han still chose the Feng Clan Escort Agency. In an imperial capital like Tian Dou City, there are caravans from all over the country every day. He easily found a caravan escorted by a fourth-ring expert and went to Tian Dou City with the caravan.
