A Bite of Douluo Continent

Recipes ranging from one-star to five-star can all drop, with a higher drop rate for lower-star recipes.

"Is five-star the highest grade of recipe?"

【Yes. 】

It seems like it's time to test our luck again.

Looking at the map of the other world at the bottom of the mission page, Qi Han had an idea and chose to accept the mission.

An ancient-looking scroll appeared out of thin air in his hand. Qi Han opened it with great interest, intending to see what this other world looked like.

But his smile quickly faded.

A golden five-pointed star is clearly marked on the map, indicating that the store in the newbie gift pack is located there.

The city where the store is located... is called Shrek City...

Looking again at the largest green area on the map, it's called the Starry Sky Forest...

The two largest countries on the map are the Star Luo Empire and the Heaven Dou Empire...

"system?"

[What can I do for you, host?]

"Why do I, someone who transmigrated to the Douluo Continent, have a gourmet system???"

Shouldn't they give us an invincible system?

For example, a system where even breathing can increase proficiency?

Or a system that adds points to everything?

Otherwise, giving a negative emotion value would be fine too.

I'm really good at making people angry!

[The choice of another world is random and unrelated to the nature of the system. The host is advised to be aware of this.]

"Alright." Qi Han gave up struggling and glanced at the distance between their current location and Shrek City.

It's a bit far, and I need to get there in three days, so I have to set off now.

Chapter Two: Future Neighbors

Shrek Academy has a history of over five thousand years.

Under the leadership of the original Golden Triangle, it continued to expand in scale and spread its influence to the surrounding area of the academy, gradually forming a unique atmosphere in the area.

Shrek Academy was formerly affiliated with the Heaven Dou Empire.

However, as Shrek Academy's reputation as the number one academy on the continent spread, a large number of Soul Masters from the Star Luo Empire also came to study there.

For the Star Luo Empire, this situation is tantamount to a brain drain, and how could they tolerate it?

The Star Luo Empire launched a strong protest against the Heaven Dou Empire, even threatening war.

At that time, Shrek Academy had already established the Sea God Pavilion, whose elders were all titled Douluo powerhouses. It was no longer a simple academy, but had the aura of a force to be reckoned with, and even the Heaven Dou Empire had to treat it as an equal.

After negotiations, the three parties reached a consensus on the advice of the then-patriarch of the Sea God Pavilion.

The Heaven Dou Empire and the Star Luo Empire each gifted Shrek Academy a portion of their territory, which was named Shrek City. Shrek Academy moved into Shrek City and thereafter existed independently, no longer belonging to either country.

From then on, Shrek City became a city independent of the Empire, governed only by Shrek Academy.

And today, Shrek City welcomed a new guest.

"Huh...huh..."

Qi Han, panting heavily, walked to the gate of Shrek City.

Three days. Do you know how I got through those three days?

Qi Han really wanted to shout something at the magnificent gates of Shrek City.

Just three days ago, Qi Han quickly sold off all his assets, totaling four silver soul coins and three bronze soul coins.

One silver soul coin is equal to ten copper soul coins, and copper soul coins are the smallest currency in Douluo Continent. For an ordinary person, forty-three copper soul coins can live on for several months.

However, this amount of money is simply not enough to come to a big city like Shrek City.

Left with no other choice, Qi Han had to take odd jobs along the way to raise travel expenses in order to reach Shrek City within the three days required by the system.

Over the past three days, Qi Han has gained a clearer understanding of his situation.

Without a doubt, this world is indeed the Douluo Continent, as evidenced by the ordinary people Qi Han encountered along the way who suddenly appeared with axes and hoes.

Qi Han, though not wearing a physical body, naturally possesses his own martial spirit.

His martial spirit... is a kitchen knife.

Qi Han sensed the malice emanating from the system and even suspected that this was a result deliberately chosen by the system.

System: No, I didn't, you're talking nonsense.

As for soul power, Qi Han shouldn't even bother relying on it. He's just an ordinary person, and it's impossible for him to cultivate on his own.

However, Qi Han was not too discouraged, because the system had already told him that future mission rewards might include things like increasing soul power.

Others become stronger through cultivation, but I, Qi Han, become stronger by completing tasks through cooking.

Eh...

It's pretty cool.

Shrek City is a large city; strictly speaking, it should be the largest city on the Douluo Continent.

It was even more magnificent than the capitals of the two great empires.

However, such large cities do not have many barriers; whether they are Soul Masters or ordinary people, they can come and go freely.

This was achieved thanks to Shrek Academy's renowned reputation spanning five thousand years.

No one dared to cause trouble here, whether they were Soul Masters or ordinary people without Soul Power. In front of a behemoth like Shrek Academy, there was not much difference.

He entered Shrek City without any trouble and, following the map provided by the system, found the shop that the system had given him.

The shop is small, somewhat like an unfinished house, about 100 square meters in total, divided into two floors.

However, none of these are problems.

Qi Han glanced at his future neighbors and couldn't help but shrink back.

"system?"

What can I do for you, host?

"Could the store be located somewhere else?"

[The store location has been carefully selected by the system as the most suitable for the host; please do not refuse the system's offer.]

Do not!

I refuse!

Qi Han silently cried out in his heart, looking at the store directly opposite with tears in his eyes.

Tang Clan Shrek City Branch.

Let's take a look at the left and right sides of the store.

Shrek City Grand Arena, Shrek City Grand Auction House.

Sure, system, you're ruthless enough to open the store right in the middle of three behemoths.

[Friendly reminder: There are four, because Shrek Academy's side gate is only 100 meters behind the store.]

"Shut up!"

Ah ah ah ah ah.

Qi Han clutched his head in pain, feeling the deep malice emanating from the system.

The location is excellent; opening a shop here guarantees unparalleled foot traffic.

but...

He was just an ordinary person without soul power.

Although Shrek City is extremely safe, there's still something to be wary of.

[Please take over the store as soon as possible and complete the mission.]

Okay, whatever, I'll just make the best of it.

Qi Han took a deep breath, stood in the center of the store, and said softly, "Take over the store!"

【Ding! 】

[A task has been detected that has been completed on the host.]

Main Quest 1: Open a Shop (Completed)

Task Rewards: Shop decoration of your choice (claimable), 1 randomly dropped recipe (claimable)

【Ding! 】

[Mission triggered!]

Main Quest Two: The First Pot of Gold

Please use your culinary skills to earn 100 Gold Soul Coins.

Task Description: The path to becoming a Food God might begin with just one hundred gold soul coins!

Quest Rewards: Randomly drop 1 recipe, +1 Soul Power Level

Qi Han's gaze skipped over the reward for Mission 1 and focused entirely on the reward for Mission 2.

Soul Power Level +1!

His heart was racing; he hadn't expected to encounter such a reward so soon.

If his desire to become a Soul Master stemmed from his yearning for extraordinary power in his previous life, after truly witnessing such power, his desire to become a Soul Master has become even stronger.

Brave Qi Han, unafraid of difficulties!
