"Cough cough, this is really something. So many bodies were lost all at once, and the old weapons we collected were also lost."
With a slightly annoyed expression, Jester got up from the coffin, loosened his joints, and then slowly stepped onto the ground.
"In the end, they even recruited a Transcendent. Hmph, it seems that girl has quite a background. No wonder she chose me as her target."
Using magic, Jester shattered the ceiling and slowly floated down to the basement level above.
"However, this will not make me back down."
With a smile, Jester recalled once again the day he caught her, the fragrance he smelled on her body, and the wonderful feel of her skin.
"So what if I'm a transcendent? As long as I have enough backup bodies, I'm immortal. No one can protect you forever, my little darling."
Licking his lips, Jester walked upstairs with a face full of excitement.
However, the most important thing right now is to manufacture a batch of backup bodies.
Thinking about what to do next, Jester opened the somewhat rusty door and walked into the empty, abandoned building.
The identity of the wealthy businessman Jester is definitely no longer usable. There's no need to consider the possibility of him being exposed; the other party isn't stupid. However, a new identity is now proving a bit tricky.
Sure enough, I'll have to ask that guy for help. Hmph, since he dared to propose cooperation, he'll probably be willing to do something as small as this.
"Hehehe, my little darling, just wait and see. After I've taken care of these little things, it will be time for us to get together again."
Thinking about how he should react when he next met the believers, Jester strode forward with a broad smile until he reached the end of the building and saw the tall, silent figure standing in the corridor leading to the outside.
"Why...why..."
Jester took two steps back in disbelief, his finger trembling as he pointed ahead at the skeleton swordsman slowly approaching him.
"Why, how could you find this place! Impossible! Impossible! I had completely forgotten about this hiding place!"
There was no way to defeat the opponent, nor was there any way to escape alive. Knowing that his body was doomed, Jester roared loudly, filled with anger and confusion.
“I have merely obeyed the will of Heaven, listened to your evening bell, and come to this place.”
The skeleton swordsman carrying the greatsword spoke softly, and slowly walked step by step to Jester's side.
“Your evening bell has already tolled, and now is the time to return to the underworld. Therefore, I have come here on behalf of Heaven to sever the heads of those who deserve to die. That is all.”
The burning pupils within the skull's eye sockets, devoid of any emotion, stared at Jester as if they wanted to burn him up as well.
"Ha, ha, ha ha ha ha ha..."
As if he had heard a funny joke, Jester was silent for a moment, then looked up and laughed loudly.
"Speaking of such mystical things, destiny? Evening bell? A transcendent being would actually believe in such nonsensical things? It's laughable..."
Despite the oppressive force of his opponent, Jester raised his head, his expression full of mockery, and stared at the skeleton swordsman who had come up in front of him.
"Do you really think you can kill me?"
Grinning, Jester revealed a set of sharp, pointed teeth.
“I have countless backup bodies, so many that I can’t even remember them all. No matter how you try to destroy me, I can still come back to life. Moreover, even if you have a way to destroy my consciousness, my backup bodies can activate on their own and become another version of me after my main consciousness disappears.”
As he spoke, Jester spread his arms wide, revealing a fanatical expression like that of an orator.
"No matter how you kill me, Jester will always exist, he will always exist. World War II didn't destroy me, World War III didn't destroy me, and the alien extermination war didn't destroy me either! You simply can't truly kill me, I am immortal, I am eternal!"
"That's right, my combat power is only B-level. Even with hundreds of years of effort, I still can't break through to the threshold of A-level, and I can't even infect an A-level powerhouse with my blood. However, I have seen countless incredibly powerful A-levels die, and countless A-levels who clamored to kill me die. They were stronger than me, but they have turned to dust, while I am still alive in this world."
Extending his palm, Jester bowed and smiled like a gentleman, looking at the silent skeleton swordsman standing before him, and said in a calm tone:
"So now, as yet another one who wants to kill me, what can you do, Skull Overlord? Hahahaha—"
As if waiting for the other party to finish performing, the old man of the mountain stepped forward and slowly spoke:
“The foolish will never understand, even when they reach the end.”
"What do you mean?"
For some reason, Jester felt uneasy.
"The divine decree has been given, the evening bell has rung, and you—have you not heard it yet?"
As the old man's voice faded, Jester was startled. He actually heard a distant bell ringing.
"What... what kind of technique is this? Is it an illusion?"
He shouted excitedly.
"Don't think you can fool me with such a simple trick!"
chap!
A burst of sparks flew as the old man of the mountain raised the heavy greatsword high above his head, like an executioner facing a criminal on trial.
"Listen, the evening bells have revealed your name; now is the time for rest."
"What--"
Seeing the greatsword falling rapidly, Jester finally understood what level of attack he was facing.
"Conceptual obliteration! You actually managed to use conceptual obliteration!!"
Screaming, Jester turned into a wisp of smoke and tried to escape. But after a heavy bell tolled, he screamed and fell to the ground, unable to move, only able to watch as the skeleton swordsman slowly walked towards him, slowly, like death itself, approaching unhurriedly.
"No, no, no!! Don't kill me! I don't want to die, I don't want to die!"
I've just found someone who can ignite all my passion, I've just found joy in life, I can't die! I can't die! I can't die!!
"Here, the Feather of Death—severs the head! 'Angel of Death'!"
With a calm voice, the Old Man of the Mountain swung his sword down, severing Jester's neck.
At the moment of rupture, sound seemed to be a signal, echoing across the planet, in countless inconspicuous corners. All the sleeping Jesters opened their eyes at the same instant, and then, with a scream, their necks snapped automatically, extinguishing all life.
"Here, let it be purged."
As he muttered to himself, the tall skeleton swordsman was enveloped in black energy and vanished into the abandoned house in an instant.
In the empty darkness, only a withered corpse remained, slowly turning to ashes and disappearing into the air.

Chapter 119: The Wandering Shadow of Incompleteness
Opening my eyes, I saw a silent, deathly gray sky above, and the earth beneath my feet was shattered, with countless broken valleys stretching across my view, like scars on the land.
Li Cheng blinked, his eyes filled with a sense of confusion and helplessness, but he quickly came to his senses.
I am dreaming.
Strangely, yet naturally, Li Cheng realized that he was dreaming. He was having a broken dream, covered in a deathly gray hue.
Why...why would I dream about these things...?
I have no clue and can't figure it out, but since I've already come to this place, why not wander around and maybe I'll discover something special?
Thinking this, Li Cheng slowly walked forward, along the road riddled with cracks and fragments. It seemed to be a highway; on this utterly dilapidated land, some traffic signs could be barely seen, though they were all severely worn away.
Reaching the edge of a broken valley, Li Cheng stopped, looked down at the collapsed fissure beside his feet. At the very bottom of the fissure, in the dark depths, Li Cheng saw churning lava, and even from a distance, he felt a surge of heat.
He continued forward, crossing the collapsed, unrecognizable area, and heading towards the equally dilapidated city not far away.
Damaged roads, broken houses, crumbling buildings. All you can see here is destruction, the aftermath of everything being destroyed.
Li Cheng closed his eyes, slowly taking in the silent city. After a long while, he opened his eyes again.
No heartbeat, no breath, no body temperature. There's nothing here, nothing alive, not a single thing.
This is... a world that is already dead.
Just then, Li Cheng noticed something different.
After bypassing several collapsed buildings and passing through a rubble that spanned the road, Li Cheng arrived at a mountainous area, a place riddled with bomb craters, as if it had been shattered by a violent bombing.
This place gave him a different feeling.
Crossing the broken road and leaping over several extremely deep craters, Li Cheng climbed the hillside, crossed the mountain peak that had been sheared off by at least half, and arrived at the other side of the mountain.
Ahead lay a village, a village clearly ravaged by artillery fire, most of its land reduced to scorched earth. Yet, Li Cheng felt a strange sense of familiarity, as if he had watched the people of this village live and work day and night, laughing and cursing, for many, many years.
The old man in that house is a very skilled blacksmith, but he has a terrible temper. The young man in that other house loves to tell jokes and often gathers a large group of people to chat. And the young man at the breakfast shop makes incredibly delicious sugar pancakes; sometimes we even sneak a couple...
Wait a minute, why am I referring to myself as "we"?
Li Cheng patted his head, somewhat confused about the cause of this inexplicable feeling.
However, no matter how peaceful the village was in the past, or how many people came and went, it was all in the past. Walking through this abandoned village, Li Cheng felt nothing but deathly silence.
He didn't stop and kept walking forward.
Leaving the village and traversing a bumpy road, Li Cheng entered a blackened clearing where only tree stumps remained after the fire. One could imagine that this place had once been a thriving forest, but now it was gone. Only black ash and broken tree stumps remained, testifying to what had once been a place.
On this gray ground, Li Cheng also found two or three houses, all of which had been destroyed beyond recognition. Outside one of the houses, which only had a few broken walls left, Li Cheng also found a broken doll. Only a few fragmented parts remained, but it still had an extremely smooth feel.
Li Cheng crossed the gray ground and arrived at a large lake that had evaporated.
Across the lake lay the ruins of a Western-style mansion, seemingly the result of a horrific explosion; only fragments of its walls remained. A deep chasm stretched from one corner of the mansion all the way to the bottom of this dried-up lake.
There's nothing left here; you can't find anything.
Li Cheng turned around, preparing to look around, when suddenly he kicked something. He bent down and dug away the clod of earth in front of him, discovering a small blue crystal with significant wear and tear, its luster dulled.
However, there seemed to be something engraved on the crystal, as if something had been carved with great force.
"My forever... most beloved... sister?"
Li Cheng managed to decipher some of the text with great difficulty, but the rest was too chaotic to understand at all.
It's probably something some kid left lying around.
