Oh, so you didn't answer honestly after all... Wait, what's going on? Why did you just blurt it out? What are you doing? Shouldn't you normally keep quiet or deliberately spread false information? Or is this the false information you spread?

"They don't seem to believe it, but it doesn't matter anyway, it's not an important matter."

The smiling man, Cú Chulainn, wore an indifferent expression, his fingers clenched so tightly that the bones in his knuckles cracked.

"My original mission was simply to investigate so-called 'uncommon beings.' There were no specific requirements. The initial concealment of my identity was just to avoid unnecessary trouble. To be honest, I now realize that all the actions I took actually created a lot of trouble for myself."

"Say what you want. As long as we knock you unconscious, take you back, and interrogate you properly, we will naturally get the information we want."

The demonic power hidden deep within his body was unleashed at full force, and Li Cheng shot out like a cannonball, creating spiderweb-like cracks in the ground as he slammed straight into the charging Cú Chulainn. With the immense force of the impact, Li Cheng forcefully knocked Cú Chulainn away, crashing through the bridge railing against his body before flying into a building at a nearby construction site.

Amidst the crackling and popping sounds, Li Cheng knocked over a pile of cement dust, turning himself into a gray mess, while Cú Chulainn crashed directly into a cement mixer, smashing through the floor and falling downstairs along with the mixer.

"Cough, cough, cough!"

Amidst the dust that covered almost the entire floor of the building, Li Cheng coughed as he searched for the man who called himself Cú Chulainn.

At that moment, a steel bar pierced through the floor and hit Li Cheng's chin, sending him flying through the ceiling and landing on the floor above.

Cú Chulainn followed closely behind, crashing through the building and kicking up a pile of rubble. He then leaped up, clutching a steel bar over two meters long. Li Cheng looked up and saw several strange runes faintly visible on the steel bar in Cú Chulainn's hand.

Did they use special techniques to strengthen the steel bars, thereby comprehensively improving their strength and lethality?

Wiping the blood from his chin and using his demonic power to heal the wound, Li Cheng stood up and took out a steel bar from a pile of steel bars beside him. His demonic power flashed, and the realm of fragility and solidity was activated, making the ordinary steel bar incredibly strong.

"Wow, you can use a gun too? That's a pleasant surprise."

Seeing Li Cheng's forward momentum as he gripped the steel bar, Cú Chulainn laughed like a wild beast and charged forward with his own steel bar. The crisp sound of metal clashing echoed through the empty building.

The intense wind pressure sent cement dust flying everywhere. The two men, each holding a long steel bar, thrust, parched, and collided with each other at an extremely fast speed.

"Ugh—"

Something's not right. This guy is way too weird.

His hands were so sore and numb that he could barely lift them, and his clothes were covered in cuts. Li Cheng gripped the steel bar tightly and looked breathlessly at Cú Chulainn, who was staring intently at him from not far away.

How did this guy become so much stronger after he picked up a weapon?

If Li Cheng could initially hold his own against Cú Chulainn in hand-to-hand combat, or even slightly suppress him, then now, wielding the reinforced steel bars...

Is he a master of the spear? With skills at this level, he could easily establish his own school of martial arts. This guy is ridiculously strong.

Looking at Cú Chulainn, who wasn't even panting heavily, Li Cheng pondered and roughly figured out what was going on with the guy.

He possessed immense strength, exceptional agility and reflexes, and an unbelievable level of endurance. Despite continuous combat and running, coupled with several injuries, he barely broke a sweat, appearing completely relaxed. Furthermore, he had barely used any magic so far, aside from healing and weapon enhancement. Li Cheng was certain this man harbored a considerable number of trump cards.

This is bad. If we pull him into the gap and unleash our full power, I wonder if we can defeat him.

Nothing bad has happened in tide's area yet, but the attacking undead apostles themselves speak volumes. In any case, it's best for him to get back as soon as possible.

Tsk, it seems the plan to quickly defeat and capture this man has completely failed.

Li Cheng narrowed his eyes, sizing up the composed Cú Chulainn before him, and began to ponder his next move. Should he retreat immediately? Or should he further strengthen himself, fighting in a more powerful state to break through Cú Chulainn's defenses and defeat him?

This is a bit tricky...

"What's wrong, buddy? You seem a bit distracted. Are you planning to run away?"

Waving the long steel bar in his hand, using it as a stick, Cú Chulainn frowned and said somewhat displeasedly.

"You were the one who chose to chase after me, and now you want to turn back on your own? Isn't that incredibly tactless? Are you playing me for a fool?"

“There’s no other way. After all, I have to consider the risks,” Li Cheng sighed, turning his gaze to the distance where he and tide lived in their neighborhood. “If we can’t see any hope of victory soon, we’ll have to consider a more realistic solution.”

"Tch," Cú Chulainn's expression turned disdainful as he put away the steel bar, revealing a troubled look. "If you want to leave, then leave. I can't stop you with your unpredictable teleportation ability. What a downer. I thought it was going to be an interesting battle, but it's already stopping before it even started."

Did this guy come here purely to fight?

Although his mind was full of questions, considering the potential danger to Kiritsugu Emiya, Li Cheng did not hesitate to use the gap and disappeared into the building at the construction site in the next moment.

“One of the deserters has left,” Cú Chulainn sighed, tossing aside the steel bar in his hand, his sharp eyes looking elsewhere. “Well, it’s time for the rat that has been secretly observing for so long to come out, isn’t it? Or should I find you myself? If so, my methods won’t be very gentle.”

"Comparing the other party to a mouse, yet saying you'll find them—what, you're clearly a dog trying to steal the cat's job?"

With a cold laugh, a red figure slowly appeared in the empty building.

Chapter 6, Section 146: Horde of Corpses and Majesty

When Li Cheng rushed back to the residential area, the small open space was already piled with a large number of corpses.

"What...is going on here?"

Standing on the ground reeking of blood, Li Cheng frowned, unable to understand what had happened. Could it be an attack by a terrorist organization or a gang?

A black rift appeared silently, swallowing Li Cheng's body. The next moment, Li Cheng appeared directly on the second floor, in the home where he and tide lived.

He had just stepped out of the gap and hadn't even had time to get a good look at his surroundings when a small figure bumped into him. The familiar feeling, the blood connection from the contract, immediately made Li Cheng realize who the girl in his arms was.

"tide, are you alright?"

Li Cheng raised his hand and gently patted tide's head, asking softly.

"tide, do your job well on the task I assigned you!"

Raising her head, tide gave a very serious, crooked salute, staring at Li Cheng with a proud expression that seemed to say, "Praise me!"

"Mmm, tide is really amazing."

Li Cheng patted tide's head and praised her with a smile. When he looked up, he met Remilia's unhappy expression.

"I wasn't being watched by this brat. I just felt that such a minor threat didn't warrant any action, so I stayed put!"

With her head tilted back, the little girl with short blue hair spoke with an air of arrogance.

"Kid? Xi is definitely taller than you, okay?"

Not quite understanding why the other party called tide "little devil," Li Cheng subconsciously retorted.

"Hmph, ignorant humans, only know how to focus on these superficial things. For immortal beings, height is completely meaningless."

Remilia sneered, revealing what she thought was an air of elegance, but in Li Cheng's eyes, it was nothing more than a child's defiant expression.

“I am over five hundred years old. Although the girl beside you is a powerful demon, she looks like she is still a child. She cannot possibly be older than me.”

Did they mistake Shio for a monster in its childhood?

Indeed, Shio's somewhat childish personality, coupled with her subtle aura, makes her look like a child, completely different from Remilia, who also looks like a child but has a "I'm very mature" expression.

However, if those fragmented and blurry memories that appear in my dreams do indeed come from tide, or rather Zi, then it seems that her age is not ordinary either; in any case, she is definitely much older than this vampire loli who claims to be five hundred years old.

tide, who was in his arms, seemed to suddenly unleash a terrifying killing intent, but when Li Cheng looked down, he only saw tide yawning sleepily, showing a tired and drowsy expression.

Come to think of it, so much has happened today that it's taken tide far longer than she usually goes to sleep.

Li Cheng looked up at the clock in the living room and realized that it was well past midnight. It was normal for tide to feel sleepy.

"Hang in there a little longer, tide," Li Cheng said with a hint of apology, patting tide's cheek. "I'll go and solve the problem right away."

After setting Shio down and instructing her to continue watching the impatient Remilia, Li Cheng activated the gap again, arriving at the third floor where Kiritsugu Emiya was the next moment.

"What just happened? Were those corpses all from the attackers?"

As soon as he appeared next to Kiritsugu Emiya, Li Cheng immediately asked.

"Well, but you can't describe them as 'people'. They are the lowest-level Dead Apostles, a bunch of living corpses that only know how to tear and swallow. I don't know who created them."

While changing the magazine in his gun, Kiritsugu Emiya replied without turning his head.

"A zombie apocalypse?"

Li Cheng smiled, walked to the windowsill, and looked down at the pile of corpses on the open ground below.

"How come all the corpses are in this area? Did they all come in through the front gate? Are you sure there aren't any enemies sneaking in from the side?"

“Tohsaka distributed warning magic runes that are inscribed with rapid activation. I’ve been using those to monitor other directions of this neighborhood, but they’ve definitely been attacking from the front gate.”

As Kiritsugu Emiya spoke, his expression became somewhat confused.

"Despite their large numbers, they've consistently launched a low-intensity attack from a fixed direction. To be honest, I'm a bit confused about what their commander is thinking. Perhaps they want to exhaust my ammunition?"

Listening to Kiritsugu Emiya's description, Li Cheng clearly sensed that something was wrong. Standing upstairs, he carefully examined the piles of corpses on the ground and suddenly realized something was amiss.

The blood beneath the corpse is gradually dissipating?

The demonic power silently surged into his eyes, and Li Cheng's pupils turned completely bright purple. Then he clearly saw a large amount of bright red mist emerge from the corpses killed by Kiritsugu Emiya, and then surge towards the direction they came from, all the way to the gate of the residential area.

Then, another group of screaming thugs rushed toward the neighborhood.

"boom--"

A gunshot rang out, and the zombie at the forefront fell to the ground.

"The fifth one."

Emiya Kiritsugu counted in a low voice.

Li Cheng jumped directly from the building and charged into the horde of zombies. He brutally smashed the bones of the roaring undead with his fists and feet, knocking them to the ground one by one. Considering that Xi was still watching from above, Li Cheng did not turn the undead into parts, avoiding an overly harmonious scene.

Within a few breaths, Li Cheng had completely wiped out the horde of at least seventy undead, and a large pile of them had been created on the ground.

In Li Cheng's vision, enhanced by demonic power, he saw the blood mist rising from the surface of the corpses and surging into the distance once again.

What exactly are these fog-like things?

Li Cheng followed with some doubt, but accidentally stepped on a corpse. Immediately afterward, he heard a crisp cracking sound. Looking down, he saw that the corpse's body had disintegrated and turned into ashes, disappearing into the air.

Startled, Li Cheng immediately went to check the other zombies he had killed and discovered that those corpses would turn to ashes upon being touched.

The roars came again, and Li Cheng looked up to see another group of zombies rushing in from outside the gate. He wasn't sure if it was just his imagination, but Li Cheng felt as if he had seen these zombies' faces before.

What... what exactly is going on?

"Can't you even figure out something this simple? Hmph, how foolish," Remilia's arrogant yet slightly contemptuous voice came from the second-floor window. "They're not Dead Apostles at all, just spirit monsters that crave flesh and blood. Hmph, as inferior creatures of the shadows, how dare they attack where I am."

"Disappear completely!"
