As he faintly regained consciousness, Li Cheng opened his eyes, struggled to move his body, and heard a sound gradually fading away.

The rain was intensifying, soaking him completely. He tried to sit up, but the pain was too intense, and he could only manage to shift to a supine position. His pupils reflected the dark gray sky and the relentless rain falling upon him.

Did I... lose her?

Having finally exhausted all his strength, Li Cheng lost consciousness on the rain-soaked street.

Section 13, Chapter 12: The Imminent Sharpness

It was nighttime, just after the rain had stopped. People usually like to go for a walk at this time, since the air is always exceptionally fresh after the rain, especially on this already bustling street.

But not now, at least not here, not at this time.

A long police cordon blocked the crowd of onlookers. The crowd was noisy, and some people were vividly recounting the scene, describing it as earth-shattering, like gods fighting. Immediately, someone next to them spoke up to refute it, leading to another version of the story. Outside the not-so-long cordon, people speculated about the truth of the matter.

Inside the cordon, police officers were running around taking notes. The flashing police lights illuminated Li Cheng's face as he sat on the ground next to the medical vehicle on the street, which was without power due to severe damage.

The doctor carefully stitched up Li Cheng's torn and bleeding right hand fingers and bandaged them. Li Cheng just sat there blankly, head down, motionless as the doctor worked on him.

A pair of leather shoes appeared before his eyes.

"How did you do that?"

It was Kiritsugu Emiya, his voice still so calm. No matter the situation, he could always remain calm and clear-headed—something Li Cheng could probably never do.

"It was from using my hand to block a bullet."

Li Cheng answered in a low voice, which was somewhat hoarse.

"Judging from the situation, it seems your hand is harder than a bullet."

As he spoke, Kiritsugu Emiya sat down next to Li Cheng, took out a cigarette, lit it, and took a deep drag.

Li Cheng kept his head down and didn't say anything.

“Actually, this is a good thing,” Kiritsugu Emiya said to himself, ignoring Li Cheng’s silence. “That girl was shrouded in mystery and was very dangerous. Now that she’s been taken away, we’re safe.”

Li Cheng's body trembled slightly.

"Moreover, with her captured, we didn't have to try to send her away, which prevented the potential enemy from finding us along the planned route. Hmph, in that sense, those guys actually did us a big favor."

Li Cheng: "..."

After taking a final deep drag on his cigarette, stubbed it out, and tossed it into the nearby trash can, Kiritsugu Emiya stood up and patted Li Cheng on the shoulder.

"Go back and get some sleep. Leave this to Group 5; this is their jurisdiction."

With that, Emiya prepared to turn and leave.

"No, I..."

Hesitantly, Li Cheng raised his head, somewhat nervously wanting to say something.

"Ok, I know."

Before Li Cheng could speak, Wei Gong nodded quite seriously.

Lee Seung, who had a lot to say but was choked by the other person before he could even get a word out: (ノ=Д=)ノ┻━┻

"Honestly, I should have known better than to let that monster stay in your house. I meant well but it backfired."

Emiya Kiritsugu sighed, reached out, grabbed Li Cheng's shoulder, and forcefully pulled him up.

"Emiya, you..."

Li Cheng was still a little confused, not knowing what the other party's sudden change in attitude meant.

"Don't get confused, we don't have much time. They probably haven't left the New Tokyo Special District yet. I'll try to prevent them from escaping immediately, but I can only buy them a maximum of two days."

Emiya Kiritsugu looked into Li Cheng's eyes and spoke with a serious expression.

"We must find that girl within two days, or we'll have no chance. Do you understand?"

"...What clues do you have?"

After a sudden moment of stunned silence, Li Cheng regained his composure, his previous distraught state vanishing. Yet, beneath his calm, placid pupils, a flame seemed to burn within.

"Come with me."

With Li Cheng by his side, Kiritsugu Emiya walked towards a black sedan parked beside the police cordon. Opening the door, a young girl with black twin tails sat inside, looking bored. Hearing the door open, she turned around, her eyes meeting those of the two surprised people outside, before she flashed a mischievous smile.

Good evening, gentlemen.

...Two hours later.

"Therefore, based on current intelligence, the other party belongs to a transnational cult called 'Happy Heaven,' and it is impossible to directly confront this organization. They have survived for many years despite the joint efforts of major powers to suppress them, and it is impossible for a few of us to challenge them. So we must intercept them before they escape from the New Tokyo Special District."

In a somewhat cramped little room, Kiritsugu Emiya spoke while tossing the documents in his hand to the two people sitting at the table.

When did you discover them?

Li Cheng glanced at the documents, then looked up and asked.

"Two days ago, but they didn't find Kuntai's presence at the time, so they handed him over to Group Seven to handle. I didn't expect their target to be that girl."

Emiya Kiritsugu pulled out a seat and sat down, speaking calmly.

"Hmph, Group Seven? Those good-for-nothings, they're probably all dead by now, right?" Li Cheng couldn't help but curl his lip as he recalled Group Seven's usual performance.

"Actually, two died, and the others are in the intensive care unit. When you were attacked, the headquarters was raiding their base, but unfortunately, it was already deserted." Emiya lit a cigarette and continued calmly.

"So how can you guarantee they can't escape now?" This time it was another voice, clear and melodious, with a hint of curiosity and a touch of pride.

“I bombed a large hotel in the suburbs and sent an anonymous terrorist attack text message,” Kiritsugu Emiya said without changing his expression. “So now headquarters will be under emergency lockdown, roads leading to the outside world will be temporarily closed for twelve hours, and protective shields will be set up. I’ve checked, none of the people who came in are space-time ability users or magicians, they can’t escape.”

"Hey, hey, hey, this is a crime, okay?!"

"No problem, the hotel was detonated after the evacuation, and I asked professionals to make sure it won't be discovered."

"That's a crime too!"

"No, if it's not discovered, it's not a crime, so there's no problem."

"No problem my ass!"

"Okay, let's find those people then. If all else fails, we can blow up another hotel."

"Senior Li Cheng, what you said is even more dangerous!"

A phone call interrupted the increasingly pointless conversation between the three people in the room. Kiritsugu Emiya picked up his phone, answered it, listened for a while with his eyes closed, nodded, hung up, and then looked at Li Cheng.

"We've found their temporary base."

bang-

Li Cheng suddenly stood up, overturning the chairs behind him. At that moment, he seemed to be engulfed in flames, fierce and ready to explode at any moment.

"Walk."

He only said one word.

"Row."

Kiritsugu Emiya answered, slinging a sniper rifle over his shoulder. But before walking away, he hesitated, as if he wanted to say something but then stopped, pondering for a moment before finally speaking to the young girl with twin tails following at the back:

"Actually, you didn't need to get involved this time, Tohsaka."

“How could I not participate, Emiya-senpai?” The young girl, who looked no more than sixteen or seventeen years old and was called Tohsaka, smiled and shook her head, her black ponytails swaying slightly on both sides.

"We're in Group Six, you know. How could I not lend a hand when a member of my group is in trouble, especially one who's a senior in our group?" the girl said with a grin, raising her little hand and making a fist.

"Since you put it that way, I won't stop you."

As they spoke, the three pushed open the door and headed up the stairs. It turned out that the place where they had been having their secret talk was in the basement of an abandoned building.

"Tohsaka".

As they walked out of the building and prepared to drive to the location where the intelligence had been confirmed, Kiritsugu Emiya suddenly stopped and turned to look at the girl following behind him.

"Hmm? Is there any other question, Emiya-senpai?"

"If you want Wuming's contact number, I can give it to you," Kiritsugu Emiya said expressionlessly.

"Huh? Hey hey hey! What are you saying? I, I don't want that idiot's contact information!" These words were extremely damaging. The girl, who had been maintaining an elegant appearance, blushed instantly, waved her hands frantically, and her eyes darted around.

"Alright, Emiya, let the young people handle their own feelings. What's the use of you, their father, being so anxious?" Li Cheng interrupted impatiently. "When Wuming returns from the Middle East, just let him meet up with Tohsaka. I saw how hesitant he was when he left; he's probably still thinking about that girl."

"Senior Li Cheng! Why are you like this too?!" The elegant girl screamed as if she had lost her mind.

With the engine roaring, the black car drove out of the dilapidated alley and headed into the distance, while the sky in the distance remained silent in the deep darkness.

It is a starless night.

Wait for me, you brat.

Sitting in the front seat, Li Cheng's eyes gleamed with a palpable bloodlust.
