Doug's lips moved as well, and after a long while, he sighed, "Figo, your teacher knows you are a Marine with a strong sense of justice, but this matter was ordered by the Five Elders themselves. The Otto family strongly opposed it, but they couldn't change the Five Elders' mind..."

“I’ll handle it,” Figo said.

He took out his personal Den Den Mushi from his pocket, dialed the number for Mendespin Saint of the Five Elders, and said, "Mendespin Saint and I have been in frequent contact over the years, and we have a good relationship. I can handle this."

Really? Doug didn't believe it.

Soon, the Den Den Mushi connected, and the voice of Mendespin, one of the Five Elders, came from the other end.

Gaston Figo?

“It is I, Lord Five Elders,” Figo said to the Den Den Mushi. “My teacher, Lieutenant General Doug, is beside me now. I heard him say that he received your orders to come and take away Geralt the Mad Laugh?”

"What do you want to say?" Mendesbin's voice on the other end became a little more serious.

“I do have something to say,” Figo said. “I feel something is wrong with this. Doesn’t the massive Navy and World Government really have any other way to capture witches? Why resort to such despicable methods? Also, why is this operation led by Professor Doug, who is nearly eighty years old? Doesn’t the Navy have anyone else?”

There was a moment of silence on the other end of the Den Den Mushi.

Figo continued, "Five Elders, give me some face and let me handle this. There's no need for a public execution of Gerald. I'll take charge of the campaign against the Revolutionary Army. I guarantee that everything will be resolved within a year. Eliminating the Revolutionary Army without resorting to despicable means—isn't that the true measure of the World Government's authority?"

Doug now understood: Figo actually wanted to take on this task to shield his teacher from this difficult situation. He was somewhat moved, his eyes reddening, and he felt a pang of shame.

But what about the Five Elders...?

"Giving you face?" Sure enough, the voice of Mendespin from the other end of the Den Den Mushi was already somewhat angry: "Figo, know your place! What does your face mean? The authority of the World Government cannot be challenged! Despicable methods? Is this the kind of evaluation you should give?!"

As expected, the Five Elders were indeed arrogant fellows. Doug smiled wryly, wanting to reach for Figo's Den Den Mushi and explain to the Five Elders, so as not to implicate Figo, but unexpectedly, Figo directly brought the Den Den Mushi to his mouth and spoke rapidly:

"My identity? I'm first a Marine, then the warden of Impel Down, but before that, I'm first and foremost a human being, a person with a sense of right and wrong! Idiot!"

The Den Den Mushi (a type of electric scooter) beeped and hung up.

Figo shrugged at Doug, "Settled!"

Doug was stunned for two seconds, then suddenly his eyes widened so much they almost popped out of their sockets.

"Figo, you?!"

Jellal was even more dumbfounded. Even though he was a lawless pirate, he knew that the person on the other end of the Den Den Mushi was someone who stood at the top of the world, the Five Elders, the highest authority of the World Government!

How could they go to such lengths for us?

“He won’t listen to reason, so we’ll have to put in some effort to resolve this,” Figo said without changing his expression. “Next, we’ll have to offend him a little, teacher.”

……

Mary Geoise.

Mendesbin stared blankly at the Den Den Mushi that had been disconnected for a long time, feeling as if he were in a dream.

Was what just happened real?

Figo said the word 'idiot' in Chinese, which Figo couldn't understand, but that didn't stop him from recognizing from the tone that it wasn't a nice word.

Moreover, Figo's tone in the first half of his sentence showed him no respect whatsoever!

This means... a refusal to obey my orders?

Or should we firmly refuse?

Mendespin suddenly stood up, an unprecedented rage rising within him, and he almost crushed the Den Den Mushi with unconscious force!

This is outrageous!

……

"Figo! Figo! What are you doing?!" Inside Impel Down, King Cleaver's tone was both surprised and bewildered.

How come they were interrogating Gerald fine, and then suddenly they threw Mr. Doug into jail?!

“Teacher, this is a clean single room. I’ll bring you a bed in a bit. You can rest here for a couple of days and don’t have to worry about anything,” Figo said to Doug through the fence.

Doug, who had been sent to jail by Figo, understood what Figo was thinking and said solemnly, "Figo, have you really thought about the consequences of doing this?"

"Yes," Figo answered crisply.

Doug was silent for a few seconds: "Then let the teacher out. We can't let a little kid like you take all the blame, I..."

“No, I’m the warden of Impel Down. I’m in charge here. I can arrest you whenever I want.” Figo shook his head. “I have no doubt that you will be recorded in naval history. This was the behavior of students, and has nothing to do with teachers.”

Doug was speechless, his eyes reddening once again.

"You brat, are you insulting your teacher?"

"What's wrong? What happened?!" Jinqie, still bewildered, asked, "Figo?"

“It’s alright, Lao Jin, you don’t need to know, and don’t let the teacher go unnoticed. In a few days, you might be able to take over my position as director. I trust you to do it.” Figo patted him on the shoulder.

A prison file popped up in front of me.

[Prisoner: Doug]

[Rank: SSR2]

[Status: Detained]

Crime Index: 25

[Participation rate in the arrest: 100%]

[Optional Benefits: Six Styles - Iron Body, Teaching, Water Skills, Cooking, Six Styles - Moon Walk]

[Character Event 1: Pending Activation]

[Character Event 2: Temporarily Unavailable]

[Core Event: Temporarily Unavailable]

The old man is indeed quite strong; he's probably the strongest vice admiral in the navy. If he resists, it might be difficult to subdue him for a while. Figo thought to himself.

SSR leveling up is a step-by-step process, and each step is not easy. SSR2 Doug will face off against SSR1 Gerald. It won't be an easy match, but he will definitely be able to exert a strong advantage.

Of course, it won't be quick to resolve; people at this level have physiques that are somewhat superhuman.

His crime index is 25, the same as Gerald's, which is not surprising.

It's impossible for a 78-year-old veteran of the Navy to have never accidentally injured anyone or made any mistakes during hundreds of campaigns against pirates.

Doing good deeds cannot offset the crime rate.

If you were to place Akainu, with his absolute sense of justice in later generations, it wouldn't be surprising if his crime index exceeded 100.

As the prison records flashed through Figo's mind, he looked at Doug and said, "Teacher, more than anything else, I'd like to know which big shot is coming next. I'll see if I can do my best to put him in the cell next to yours."

Kimi looked horrified. What did Figo say?!

Doug then asked, "Are you really confident?"

Figo said, "I'll try my best."

Doug: "What if two people come?"

Figo paused for a moment, then laughed and said, "Let's run."

Doug remained silent, then sighed deeply and said, "Why go to such lengths? You're still young, Figo. You're not like this old man who's about to die. You have plenty of time to uphold your justice! Why go to such extremes?!"

"What do we do this time?"

Doug was speechless for a long time before finally saying, "Teacher is indeed a coward, really not as good as you..."

Figo said, "I spent fifteen years in Impel Down, lifting weights, escorting prisoners, punishing prisoners, releasing prisoners, and training my combat skills every day. My life was the same for fifteen years. I didn't do this just to compromise myself!"

"So, who is the general who will come?"

Chapter Thirty-Six: The Pinnacle

Who will be the general who comes?

"The navy is now undergoing a generational transition. Of the three admirals, the oldest, Moka, is a marine of my generation. He was recently transferred to the Holy Land to familiarize himself with the duties of Commander-in-Chief and is about to be promoted."

'The Ao family? That stubborn old man from the Ao family is a nightmare for the Five Elders; why would they let him go?'

'The other two generals, one is keeping an eye on Hell's Man, Thebrus, who has been acting strangely lately in the New World, and the other has a good relationship with the O family and myself, so he probably won't be sent here.'

'Those who come over are most likely Raul, the general candidate who will soon replace Moka.'

"Does this name sound familiar? Raul wasn't a marine who grew up in the Navy Headquarters' recruit training camp. He was once a renowned bounty hunter on the high seas, and was later personally discovered and recruited into the Navy by the Oku family."

"He was a genius just like you and Sapphire. At only 24 years old, he was promoted to colonel, a promotion that was considered exceptional. The following year, when Impel Down was first established, he was appointed by the Oku family as the chief jailer of Impel Down. Within a year, he was promoted back to major general, skipping the usual rank of brigadier general. Four years later, he was promoted to lieutenant general."

'His acquisition of the Logia-type Devil Fruit, the Wind-Wind Fruit, further strengthened his position. However, that foolish old man from the Oku family misjudged him; this kid wasn't a suitable successor. Since a few years ago, he'd been frequently in contact with the Five Elders of the World Government, and the World Government probably grew tired of a Marine Admiral like the Oku family member and wanted to groom someone more obedient.'

"The Oku family deliberately suppressed him for two years, but they can't hold him back now. At 40, he's matured in every aspect, so don't underestimate him just because he's not a full-fledged Admiral yet. He already possesses the authority and power of an Admiral, and is recognized by all Marines at Marine Headquarters as the fourth Admiral!"

'Of course, if you're capable, it would be even better if you could beat that bastard up, Figo!'

Standing on the zeroth level platform of Impel Down, Figo gripped the hilt of his sword, Doug's narration echoing in his mind, gradually adjusting himself to his peak condition.

Suddenly, a gale swept across the sea, causing Figo's pure black cloak to flutter high in the wind!

"I've been in the doldrums for so long that I've almost forgotten what it feels like to feel the wind."

Figo gave a soft utterance and drew his sword to strike!

The blazing white sword energy expanded outwards with his strike, seemingly rivaling the sun's brilliance, leaving only this enormous crescent moon on the entire sea, nothing else in sight!

Before Figo, the sea, hundreds of meters deep, was split in two by this single strike! The churning seawater spread out to both sides, and the oncoming gale was also cut in two by this strike!

The fierce wind blowing on my body suddenly stopped.

Several hundred meters ahead, the two sections of the wind source transformed into a semi-solid state and fell towards the sea, plunging into the abyss that Figo had cleaved open.

Three seconds later, a terrifying hurricane rose straight up from the depths of the sea into the sky, stirring up a whirlpool thousands of meters in diameter in the once calm, windless zone. The seawater was then rapidly pushed to both sides, and huge waves crashed one after another onto the zeroth level platform of Impel Down, rolling into the distance.

Impel Down, which had been buried in the deep sea for over a decade, was gradually being completely exposed to the air! Centered on the spot where the two sections of the storm had just crashed, the seawater was pushed away by the storm and pushed thousands of meters away, where it was blocked by an invisible wall of wind and could not be rolled back!

Within half a minute, the nearby ocean environment turned into land, and the two pieces of the fallen wind source then merged together, transforming into a human floating about one meter above the seabed.

A light blue shirt, white trousers, a pristine white cloak of justice, a height similar to Figo's, grayish-brown pupils, and a long, shaved face with a slightly pointed chin.

The fourth general, Raul!

"Lord Mendespen told me you might resort to violence, and I hardly believed it." He put his hands in his pockets, his body swaying slightly in the breeze, and looked up at Figo on the zero-level platform. "I remember you, Gaston Figo. When I was in Impel Down, you were just a minor sergeant trying to attract attention."

Unexpectedly, 14 years have passed in the blink of an eye, and you have actually found the courage to turn against me.

I admire your courage and determination, but the authority of the World Government and the Five Elders cannot be challenged. Be good... surrender!
