The commotion on the fifth floor stopped abruptly.

Here he comes! That madman is here again!

Human traffickers deserve to die. Figo felt better after punishing the nun on some pretext. With a smile on his face, he continued walking down the long corridor with Kingie, ignoring the stares of the villains.

It's relaxing and pleasant, like being at home.

It also resembles a king inspecting his territory.

Looking at the villains' reactions and reflecting on his own experiences over the past month, Jin Qie sighed inwardly... It did seem different.

Chapter Thirty: The Prison Break

Ah, it smells so good.

In the prison guards' mess hall, Jinqie devoured a stew of sea monster meat, finally understanding why the guards were so welcoming to Figo. He was starting to crave this stuff after a month without it.

Impel Down does indeed need Figo.

Fine, I'll work under him for another ten years. After ten years, the position of director should be mine, right? Ten years? It'll only be a blink of an eye. I'll only be 42 years old then.

On the other side, Figo, who hadn't eaten sea king meat for many days, also ate like a whale, swallowing chunks of meat almost the size of a human head. His meat grinder-like teeth pierced through them and they were gone in three seconds.

While eating, he could still speak clearly: "Hey you, I've never seen you before. You must be the new jailer. Don't be shy, once we're in Impel Down, we're all family!"

"Hey you, you're full already? You're too weak. Go help out in the kitchen!"

"Hey you, you've finished eating too? Go get some more bowls and chopsticks, and give each prisoner a pound of meat. I'm back as warden after my promotion, so let the prisoners share in the joy and have something good to eat!"

"Give them to the fifth and sixth floors as well, but be careful when you go down. Pass them through the cell doors to where the prisoners can barely reach them!"

"Oh, by the way, don't forget that the nun who was sent here ten days ago didn't get any!"

The cafeteria had become a battlefield, with the sounds of clinking plates and shouts rising and falling. As the director, Figo naturally fought to the very end. The huge empty plate on the table in front of him had been cleared away three times, but it was still piled up to a height of nearly one meter.

After wiping his mouth with the paper handed to him by the jailer, Figo stood up and let out a burp.

Now that we've eaten and drunk our fill, it's time to get down to business!

"Old Jin, I'm going downstairs again. You don't need to come with me this time. Just give me the key."

The fifth level of Impel Down.

Duham greedily licked the greasy food off the plate, showing none of the arrogance expected of a pirate with a bounty of over a hundred million.

Seven years! A full seven years!

He had no idea what kind of life he was living.

He gets a dry bread every day or even every other day, and occasionally that bastard will starve him for three to five days. Sometimes he looks at his own arms and his eyes light up with greed!

Who can resist the delicious taste of sea kings?

In fact, he wasn't the only one; there were many pirates who ate even more ravenously.

When the jailers came down to distribute the sea king meat, they were still very wary, wondering what Figo was up to again, and suspecting that the meat was poisoned or something to torture them.

But as the aroma of meat wafted out and gradually permeated the fifth level of Impel Down, one of them suddenly said, "It doesn't matter if there's poison."

Someone else chimed in, "If they really wanted us dead, why waste poison?"

It's painful to admit, but it's very true.

And that's how it ended up looking like this.

So far, no fellow inmates have died from the poisoning, so it seems the meat is fine. The problem is, who can eat all this stuff?

Seeing that all the oil had been licked clean, Duham smacked his lips, looked around, and shouted, "Who has any meat left? Give it to me! I've buried some treasure outside, worth around 300 million Berries. I can tell him the exact location of the treasure!"

All I got in return was a series of sneers.

But I have to be able to get out first.

"Oh, you have treasure?"

Figo's voice rang out in the distance, and the prisoners fell silent instantly. This time, no one cursed him; the prisoners stared longingly, still hoping for just one more bite of meat—just one bite!

“Yes, I have it!” Duham’s heart skipped a beat. “Figo, I’ll trade my treasure for ten meals of meat! No, five will do! Three hundred million Berries, an ordinary person couldn’t spend it all in ten lifetimes!”

Figo walked to the outside of Duham's cell with great interest, and the attention of the other prisoners was also focused on him. If they could switch places, who wouldn't be hiding something good outside?

Even if I have to cheat, I'll still get a couple of meals of meat. I don't care if I get beaten to death; I'll just die full!

"Keep dreaming!" Figo laughed loudly. "You're grateful just for a bite of meat? You cheap pirates. But I'm not giving you any, so what? Who needs the gratitude of prisoners like you?!"

The prisoners' illusions were shattered instantly, and they were mocked, making them tremble with anger.

"You bastard!"

"If you let me leave here..."

"I absolutely want to."

They uttered vicious curses; in their hearts, Figo's death was utterly gruesome. Someone, it's unclear who started it, but they hurled the empty bowls that had once contained sea king meat at Figo.

Then, bowls flew everywhere!

Figo's smile vanished, and with a slight flick of his wrist at his waist, his new ruby-sword was drawn, its cold glint flashing as it easily shattered all the bowls!

"Heh, you bastards have gotten quite bold. I'll deal with you later!" As if his interest had been interrupted, Figo snorted coldly and walked straight out of the prisoners' sight.

This time, no one spoke up.

The prisoners even held their breath.

Among the pile of broken bowls, a key lying on the ground was gleaming faintly!

The key fell off the bunch of keys on Figo's body the moment he drew his knife.

Most of the prisoners noticed it.

Figo, however, seemed completely oblivious!

What kind of key is this?

Their hearts pounded, and their eyes were fixed on Duham, who was the closest to them.

Duham hadn't felt this tense in many years. His gaze drifted to the place where Figo had left, and with a flick of his Observation Haki, he squeezed to the cell door and desperately reached for the key.

Under everyone's watchful eyes, he slid the key into the cell, held it between two fingers, and inserted it into the chains binding him, turning it.

Click! The lock is open!

The other prisoners' breathing became heavy instantly.

"Come here and let me go!"

"Idiot, hurry up!"

"Idiots, keep your voices down!"

Urged on, Duham used the key to open his own cell and walked freely into the fifth-floor corridor, his eyes filled with ecstasy and disbelief.

Did I just escape from prison?

"Hurry up! Hurry up, you idiot!"

He was cursed at again, and Duhamel wanted to ignore everyone else, but he knew in his heart that he couldn't escape Impel Down by himself.

"Don't shout!" he hissed. "This key is marked with 1316. It can probably only open the locks of our four cells!"

He looked at his elderly neighbors next door: "I'll let you out, but you have to behave. We'll kill that bastard Figo first, then release everyone and leave this place together!"

He was clever and knew how to calm everyone down. The great pirates, who had been extremely anxious after hearing the first part of his sentence, all calmed down.

They thought about it and weren't worried that Duham would break his promise. Outside the city was the endless sea, and they had no boats. Without working together, they wouldn't be able to escape.

But there are smarter ones.

Sister Carmel had been silently observing all along. She was initially overjoyed and expectant at being treated differently by Figo and not getting any meat, but when she learned that the key could only release four people, her heart sank back to the bottom.

Kill that monster?

Just the four of you?

Her eyes flickered, then she suddenly shouted, "Gaston Figo! You dropped your keys!!"

"You bastard?!"

"Damn it! Are you insane?!"

The prisoners were in a state of panic and confusion. Duham quickly sped up, while the nun's face was full of disdain, as if she were the only one sober in a world of drunks. "What are you going to do about it?"

"Figo!"

"Come back soon!!"

Chapter Thirty-One, but not completely over.

Impel Down, first floor monitoring room.

Four prison guards who were on duty in the monitoring room today were playing cards out of boredom.

"What bad luck! Today is the day we're in charge of the monitoring room. Everyone else gets to attend the banquet hosted by Director Figo, except us," a new prison guard said sullenly.

The old guard laughed at him, "It's alright, you don't understand the warden. He's an incredibly thoughtful man, he won't forget us. Believe me or not, we'll be the ones being envied later, the warden will definitely give us an extra meal!"

"really?"

"That's great, Director."

"Seriously, is this monitoring room really necessary? The prisoners have been locked up in their cells for eight years now, and the monitoring Den Den Mushi hasn't captured a single incident."

"Isn't it a good thing that there are no surprises?" The old prison guard threw down two cards, glanced at the monitor screen, and his face suddenly turned pale.

"How could this be?"

"Something happened!"

He leaped to the Den Den Mushi: "Chief! Warden Kinkiri! There's been an unexplained prison break in Eve 5! Four prisoners have escaped and are heading towards the fourth level! Ah, Chief Figo has stopped them! Quick, quick, Chief, we need reinforcements! We need reinforcements!"

As the Den Den Mushi's voice broadcast, all the prison guards within the Den Den Mushi's reach changed their expressions drastically. Kinkiri, who had been pushing the stone block in the training area after finishing his meal, smashed the stone block on the ground and hurriedly ran towards the prison guard passage.

The stairwell between the fifth and fourth floors of the city.

Four prisoners, now freed from their shackles, were half-surrounding Figo, their eyes gleaming with murderous intent.

Without uttering a single word of nonsense or threat, the four great pirates, fearing being surrounded by more jailers, exchanged glances, their eyes sweeping over the ring of keys hanging from Figo's waist, and simultaneously pounced on Figo!
