Bottom-tier trainers in the Pokémon world

"They truly are brothers, really 'good brothers'."

Xia Yan's lineup.

This reignited the enthusiasm of the entire audience.

Nowadays.

Is there a chance we'll see the mythical beasts appear again?

and.

It's still a clash between a Dragon-type legendary Pokémon and a Dragon-type champion Pokémon.

Let Adu fully understand and learn... what a Dragon-type Pokémon is?

There's no need to even think about tomorrow's headlines; all the journalists present have already gone over them in their minds.

"Hahaha—Xia Yan, I'm really looking forward to fighting Giratina!"

Upon seeing Xia Yan's lineup, Du showed no surprise or worry whatsoever. Instead, he laughed heartily and said loudly.

Xia Yan knows.

Lance is genuinely not worried about battling Giratina; in fact, he very much hopes to battle Giratina, to fight a legendary Pokémon.

"There will be opportunities." Xia Yan did not shy away from this.

"Please both players get ready."

The referee raised the red and blue flags.

After confirming the condition of Xia Yan and Du, his expression suddenly turned serious, and the flag was swiftly lowered.

"Battle begins!"

On the big screen, the sword and shield between the two figures clashed, producing a crisp and resounding clang.

"let's go!"

Lance threw out his Ultra Ball and shouted with great momentum, "Gyarados!"

"Roar!

! ”

A Gyarados with a ferocious face and covered in bright red, jagged scales leaped and slammed heavily onto the field, creating gusts of wind.

The roar of filial piety echoed throughout the entire venue.

"A red Gyarados? Wasn't Champion Lance's Gyarados blue?"

"But this red Gyarados looks really strong!"

This is a brand new Gyarados, making its debut at this tournament.

"Xia Yan, do you remember this Gyarados?" Wataru asked loudly.

"Of course." Xia Yan smiled and tossed out the Poké Ball. "It's a gift from me."

Ok?

It’s tricky!

Was the Gyarados that Champion Adu owns a gift from Champion Xia Yan?

"It's up to you, Nine-Tails."

The pure white Ice Ninetales leaped out of its Poké Ball, landing lightly amidst scattered, sparkling hexagonal snowflakes.

Nine-tailed Gyarados's bright, soft tail swayed gently as it stretched out, its beautiful, snow-white eyes reflecting the fiery red body of the red Gyarados.

"Awooo—"

The elegant and pretty Ice Inbu and the ferocious red Salamence form a stark contrast.

"Here it comes, the showdown between beauty and the beast!"

"It's also a showdown between 'good' brothers!"

Chapter 256 Xia Yan VS Yulongdu (Part 1)

Gyarados VS Ice Ninetales!

roar--!!

Looking at the elegant and delicate Ice Ninetales, Lance's red Gyarados showed no mercy whatsoever, its extremely intimidating roar filled with a strong sense of threat.

Wataru's most common "Intimidate" opening move, starting with a red Gyarados, was exactly what Xia Yan had expected.

If Wataru starts with Salamence, then Natsuhiko can counter it with Ice Ninetales, which will completely counter Salamence, making a direct confrontation almost impossible.

Therefore, if you want to maintain your "intimidating" size, Gyarados is the best choice to start with.

although.

Theoretically speaking, given its "intimidation" characteristic, it shouldn't be very effective against the Ice Nine-Tails.

Ninetales, which excels in special attacks, doesn't need to worry about "Intimidate" lowering its physical attack.

but.

To view Wataru's "Intimidate" system merely as a way to reduce the opponent's physical attack would be to greatly underestimate the tactical system upon which Wataru relies for survival.

It not only reduces the opponent's physical attack, but more importantly, it has a psychological deterrent and influence.

so.

It's hard to say which of the two initial Pokémon is better or worse; each has its own advantages.

Huhu——

As the Ice Nine-Tailed Fox appeared, a light drizzle of snow immediately began to fall in the vast arena.

In the blink of an eye, the originally glistening snowflakes turned into a hazy, fluffy snowfall.

Snowflakes piled up on the field, and in just a few breaths, this rocky battlefield was transformed into a world of ice and snow.

Despite Lance's Gyarados being unaffected by Ice-type moves.

However, the sudden drop in temperature and the ice and snow that quickly covered its entire body still made Gyarados feel a strong chill, as well as a biting cold that penetrated its thick scales and armor and was transmitted into its body.

Even before the battle officially began, the unique characteristics of the two Pokémon had already had a significant impact on each other.

Watari, who also sensed the change in temperature, suddenly sharpened his eyes.

Based on his understanding of Xia Yan, if he waited any longer, Gyarados would definitely be the first to suffer.

He then waved his hand, his cloak fluttering, and shouted:

"Gyarados, Dragundus!"

Roar! ! !

The audience erupted in uproar.

Start with "Dragon Dance"?

Isn't Champion Adu afraid of exposing his own weaknesses?

All I saw was...

The ferocious, crimson-colored Gyarados suddenly rose up, straightening its body and using its thick, powerful tail as a fulcrum. The smooth arc of its body spun, creating a surge of air currents that rose wildly with its momentum.

Most importantly, the violent movements brought about by "Dragon Dance" not only swept away all the snow covering Gyarados, but even the constantly falling snowflakes were blown away by the air waves it generated, preventing them from getting any closer to it.

Kill two birds with one stone!

Only then did the audience finally understand why Watari made such a bold choice.

Xia Yan, who also witnessed this scene, raised an eyebrow slightly.

This is the principle of the "Counterattack Shield". He taught it as a transitional move, but unexpectedly, he not only did not abandon this little trick, but also incorporated it into a new move.

but.

I taught you this, Watari!!!

"Nine-Tails!" Xia Yan's eyes suddenly turned serious, and he waved his hand, shouting, "Blizzard!"

"Awooo—"

The nine tails of the Ice Nine-Tailed Fox stretched out and danced.

In an instant.

The howling snowflakes grew increasingly exaggerated, and the thick, intertwined snow and ice constantly pounded and impacted the dancing dragon, with layers of frost even freezing into the air.

"Gyarados!!"

Upon seeing this, Lance roared, and wisps of blue-purple "dragon power" instantly rose from his body, silently merging into the flying Gyarados.

Roar! ! !

The Gyarados's soaring momentum, as it roared to the sky, came to an abrupt halt.

"Dragon Dance" was a success!!

It seems that Lance's use of the "Dragon Power" is not only improving the strength and abilities of the spirits, but also that his own abilities are constantly progressing.

No wonder it was so bold as to directly withstand the Nine-Tailed Fox's "Blizzard" and unleash "Dragon Dance"; it seems it came prepared.

"Gyarados, now's your chance, Iron Tail!"

Using the last vestiges of the "Dragon Dance" rhythm, the red Gyarados displayed an agility completely contrary to its size, carving a deep furrow directly into the thick snow.

The tail, covered in a thick metal shell, dragged along the ground, creating sparks as it spurted towards the Nine-Tails' body.

"Nine-Tailed Fox, Aurora Curtain!"

Xia Yan narrowed his eyes.

Awooo—

Facing the immense pressure from Gyarados's massive tail swung around, the gust of wind that stung their faces caused Ninetales's snow-white fur to become disheveled.

Fortunately.
