“No.” Rexol shook his right hand. “I choose to keep this information secret, so that even members of the Temple with the right to access top-secret information cannot find out.”

"Oh? Why is that?" Xia Zuo was taken aback. "If you don't include this information in the report, what will you say at the meeting?"

Rexor stopped and whispered within the privacy barrier, "I'm going to release a false message that's more favorable to the Temple."

"Fake news?" Xia Zuo became interested.

Rexor nodded slowly, then asked, "I'm asking you, if I announce that Sodike Blackflame has been killed in action, do I have to include the new application of the laws of spacetime, as well as that strange incantation, in the report?"

“Yes, that’s right.” Xia Zuo thought for a moment, “The situation might become a bit chaotic. It’s conceivable that the scholars of the Tower will propose a focus on studying the laws of spacetime, while those research groups specializing in bloodline power will likely turn to studying that incantation…”

"Yes. But the situations you mentioned are just one reason why I chose to publish fake news."

Rexor held up one finger. "Let me ask you a few more questions. Do you think we can defeat the Church of the Otherworldly Demons?"

“Sure,” Xia Zuo said without hesitation. “Absolutely no problem. With Sodike Black Flag dead, the biggest threat in the entire war has been eliminated. Defeating the Church of the Otherworldly Demons is only a matter of time.”

"So what will we do after we win?" Rexol asked again.

"Uh... modify the environment within the anti-magic field, heal the earth's wounds, and restore its natural appearance. Then, we can do whatever we need to do, research alchemy, magic, and so on, and finally drive Vasaksat and its vanguard away," Shazo said.

"That's where the problem lies, Shazo."

Rexor sighed silently.

"The sealing effect of the Creation Smoke is two-way; we can't get out, and the Starry Sky Demons can't get in. To defeat the Vasaksat Vanguard, we must dispel the Creation Smoke."

"You mean to remove the entire Creation Smoke? Not just a small part?" Xia Zuo asked.

"It can only be completely deactivated or completely activated."

"How exactly does it work?" Xia Zuo scratched his head.

Rexor shook his head. “I can’t tell you that. You just need to know one thing: Sodike Black Flag is dead, but it only died at this point in time. After we dispel the Creation Smoke, Vasaksat will likely use his time-space magic to resurrect the Sodike Black Flag from the past. I don’t know what that will be like, but my instincts tell me that the Temple will likely be destroyed as a result.”

Xia Zuo suddenly realized, "So, you want to use a false message to dissuade the Temple from removing the Creation Smoke, right?"

Xia Zuo pondered for a moment and said, "There are many difficulties, Master. In the battle plan against the Star Demons, the Temple has already listed the counterattack against the Vasaksat vanguard as an essential objective. What you're doing is tantamount to overturning this battle plan..."

“Yes…” Rexor shrugged helplessly, “but I have to do it, Shazo. If Vasaksait can really resurrect Sodike Blackflame… I can’t imagine what kind of desperate situation the Temple will be in.”

I can't even imagine my own situation... Xia Zuo muttered to himself.

If Vasaksat resurrects Sodike Black Flag, what will happen to his cheat codes? What will happen to all the eight-dimensional attribute values and free attribute points he painstakingly accumulated? If all of these things disappear... anyone would feel lost and disoriented.

“Master, I support you in doing this.” Xia Zuo’s tone was firm. “We cannot place our hopes for the future on the enemy’s inadequacy. Even if Vasaksat can only revive ordinary alien demons, we will still be in danger of being attacked from both the ground and the stars, and all our efforts will be in vain.”

Rexor patted Shazo on the shoulder. “Good, I’m glad I’m not fighting alone. If possible, I’d like to ask you to help me persuade the pure-blood mage faction. You can reveal a small part of the truth, but please remember not to disclose the news of Sodike Blackflame’s death or the spell. You can assume that Sodike Blackflame is dead, and then talk to Letunia and the others about it.”

“Yes, Master.” Xia Zuo agreed.

He stopped in his tracks. "Should I go find Christo and the others now? That way I won't have to come all the way back from the Legion's stronghold."

"Alright, go ahead. I'll contact you using blood ties when the Legion needs your help."

Rexor continued toward the teleportation chamber.

Xia Zuo then found the tower of the scholar and went inside.

In the pure-blood mage faction, apart from Karles, who just joined and does not have an elemental body, everyone else has an elemental body and is an inner temple mage.

Christo held a sinecure in the teaching area of the Tower Scholars, as did the others.

Shazo and Krestor were quite familiar with each other, and Krestor wasn't as assertive as Letunia and Cinfia, making her relatively easier to communicate with. So Shazo first contacted Krestor and then went to her office.

"Click, click..." The communication ring replied, Christo had agreed to Shazo's request for a visit.

Xia Zuo pushed open the office door and went inside.

There were quite a few people inside the room.

Letunia is here, and Sinfia is here too.

Christo walked to the door, gently closed it, released her crimson domain to slow down the flow of time in the room, and then adjusted the arrangement of the tables and chairs to make room for Shazo.

“Please sit down, Shazo. We were looking for you, but it seems you're on a top-secret mission and we can't get in touch with you.” Christo walked over and sat down at the Round Table.

Xia Zuo pulled out a chair and sat down among the pureblood mages. He looked at Letunia and Xinfeiya on either side and asked, "What's going on here?"

“Let Let Leturnia tell you,” Christo said, rubbing her temples as if something was bothering her.

“Shazo, Calles…” Letunia took a deep breath, “Calles may have betrayed us.”

"What?" Xia Zuo's heart tightened. He was the one who proposed the motion to deal with Calles, how could things have gone wrong?

"Kalles underwent surgery in the alchemy school's teaching area to implant an alchemical bomb in his heart," Letunia said.

“I went to the surgery site today and saw that Kales’ bloodline characteristics had changed. He may have had a portion of his bloodline power extracted. When I asked him if I had tampered with him, he denied it very firmly. Even when I presented evidence, he still denied that his bloodline power was abnormal and insisted that my detection spell was faulty.”

End-of-volume summary + Acknowledgments

In March, updates were inconsistent. At that time, many ideas for a new book popped into my head, so I had to take some time to write out the outline to prevent the inspiration from slipping away.

After writing many new book outlines, when I look back at the outline of this book now, it feels very simple and rough. I did have the idea of finishing this book as soon as possible and then starting a new book.

But when I resumed updates on March 21st, I saw that more than 30 readers were following me, and I started to waver. This number was more than I had imagined. Later, the number of readers kept getting better and better, and my determination to finish the book seriously grew stronger, so I've been writing it ever since.

I sincerely thank the readers who have been following the updates.

Next, we'll talk about Volume 5:

The recently concluded fifth volume had a tight pace and resolved many of the foreshadowing elements from the first four volumes. The central plot revolves around Rexor's investigation into the whereabouts of Sodick Black Flag, with the protagonist Shazor playing a supporting role in the process.

Judging from reader feedback, a supporting character, if well-developed and given sufficient attention, can, to some extent, drive the plot in place of the protagonist, and readers won't find this approach offensive. If this supporting character is even more interesting, has more memorable moments, and can create satisfying scenes for the protagonist, then this plot centered around the supporting character will gain even greater acceptance.

In the future, I will consider using a more ensemble writing style in my new book to develop more well-rounded supporting characters.

Volume 5 not only reveals foreshadowing but also lays the groundwork for many more.

The first is the [Spirit Splitting Technique], which appears in Chapter 6 of this volume. This is a spell that cuts apart a spirit to create the caster's body. The spirit body, spirit threads, soul vision, and [Land of Eternal Rest] are four interconnected factors that can form a storyline that will unfold as part of the main plot.

The second foreshadowing element is the Sands of Time, or the laws of spacetime. The name "Sands of Time" comes from a very old game, *Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time*, but its setting in this book doesn't originate from the game; rather, it's based on the obscure physics theory of string theory. The Sands of Time, the laws of spacetime, and Vasaksat form a storyline that will be driven by the main plot.

The third foreshadowing element is the Law of Corruption—once corrupted, even if saved, one will fall again, and more severely than before. The Law of Corruption relates to the very origin of the book's world and will be revealed through the main storyline.

The fourth foreshadowing is a plot point, and the foreshadowing is quite deep.

As Xia Zuo condensed his inner body in the room arranged by Beatrice, he removed the blood rune disguise, and Rexor pushed open the door to detect the blood rune.

This foreshadowing echoes Shaza's first deep meditation, at which point we learned that Beatrice wouldn't set up alchemical tools or spells in the room to actively monitor Shaza's every move. So how was Rexor able to time his entry precisely when Shaza removed his blood-pattern disguise?

The fifth foreshadowing element is [Charm]. The upper limit of the Charm attribute value for different creatures is fixed. In this book, based on the current plot, only the protagonist and the Otherworldly Demon can break the Charm limit. Will other creatures be able to break the limit in the future?

The sixth foreshadowing element: the power of bloodlines, artificial bloodlines, and bloodline iteration. What is the source of the power of bloodlines?

The seventh foreshadowing element is the mass transmigration incident of the Demon Hunter School, and how the Grayhorn Sub-Dimension came about.

The 8th foreshadowing: What is the Path of Saguma? Saguma, Sodike Black Flag, Otherworldly Demons, and Vasaksat are connected by a thread, echoing time and the propagation of creatures, and will be revealed according to the main storyline.

The ninth foreshadowing element is the predetermined conclusion of natural evolution.

This part of the plot is rather thin, which is a bit of a shame.

My original intention was to write a research story to take everyone from a novice to the pinnacle of scientific research, and then let them experience the confusion at the top of scientific research and think about why scientists would associate with theology.

This part was cut because it was too monotonous and lacked any exciting moments.

Although the main research storyline has been cut, the ending of this storyline will still be written. It is related to multiple clues and will be revealed through the main storyline of the whole book.

The tenth foreshadowing element is the Chaos Container and the Ocean of Spirits. This part will unfold soon and will be covered in the next volume.

The 11th foreshadowing: "Shazo" and Shazo, what did Nukoalov see in Shazo before he died?

The 12th foreshadowing element is Sodike Black Flag's trait. Three traits have been described so far; interested readers can take a look.

The 13th and 14th foreshadowings, the most deeply buried foreshadowings, will not be hinted at.

All the foreshadowing above will be resolved in Volume 6, after which the book will officially come to an end.
