The glow of teleportation spells is often related to the intermediate plane and destination used in the teleportation.

When the destination of a teleportation spell is another corner of the same plane, the teleportation light is white.

If you point to another plane, the color of the destination will be displayed. For example, pointing to the Gray Corner subplane will show gray; pointing to the Thunder Ocean plane will show the deep blue of the sea.

If the teleportation beam is directed towards the Arcane Masters' headquarters, it will turn purple-blue.

That's right, the headquarters of the arcane mages is located in a separate subplane.

Its name is [Mystic Grove], also known as [Mystic Grove].

The spells taught here are different from those publicly taught by the scholars in the tower of the temple's teaching area.

The scholars of the Tower cannot escape their scholarly nature; their spells emphasize versatility and high precision.

The spells of temple mages, on the other hand, are designed to be efficient, versatile, and reliable, meaning that they can be cast at the fastest speed and achieve the correct effect in any environment and at any time.

Spells are based on energy. Energy can have a physical form or it can not, so spells have no specific shape; that is, spells are formless.

However, the spellcaster is tangible; he possesses all the characteristics of a human being and needs water, air, and food to survive. In extreme environments, using a human body as a spellcaster would hinder the spell.

To overcome this, the Temple developed the Elemental Body—a second body of the spellcaster that uses a high-concentration energy field as the main body for casting spells.

For well-known reasons, very few archmages are able to successfully sever their spiritual bodies, so temple mages with elemental bodies are extremely rare.

Faced with the Temple army's enormous demand for elemental bodies, the Temple mages secretly developed another extreme form of spellcaster husk.

In the Mystic Grove, under the eternal night, a wooden path stretches from the teleportation gate into the depths of the forest. The leaves here are all blue, with a faint glow. Glowing powder, as ethereal as fireflies, drifts slowly in the air, and the grass beneath the trees is covered with glowwort plants emitting a bluish, ethereal light.

Xia Zuo stepped out of the teleportation room, his gaze sweeping across the tranquil blue forest, and he keenly noticed several cloaked figures hovering above the tree branches.

"Shazo, don't stare at the arcane mages," Rexor warned through his bloodline connection. "Their entire bodies, inside and out, are covered in highly sensitive enchanted materials. If stared at for more than five seconds, these arcane mages, who are in a semi-meditative, semi-alert state, will be awakened."

Xia Zuo immediately averted his gaze, following the bald man without looking to the side, and asked in his mind, "Master, I've heard that esoteric masters have very special bodies..."

"Yes, in pursuit of the ultimate spellcasting effect, they temporarily abandoned their physical bodies. The alchemists detached their muscles, blood vessels, and organs (except for the brain) from their skeletons, sealed them in incubation chambers for preservation, and then assembled new bodies using enchanted biomimetic alchemical materials. This method eliminates the need for them to dissect their spirit bodies, but the cost is the temporary loss of most physiological functions."

Rexor walked forward calmly. "Different types of arcane mages are engraved with different functions of [runes]. These [runes] limit a mage's scope of action, authority, and thought, transforming them into the purest spellcasting machines. The spellcasting bodies they currently use are called [rune bodies]."

'It sounds like... mages don't have much freedom?' Xia Zuo asked.

“Of course.” Rexor nodded slightly. “The Temple army needs soldiers who absolutely obey orders. As the core of the Temple army, mages demand even more loyalty and discipline. I must remind you again, Shazo, don’t say anything rash later. Leave everything to me. Mages don’t have the emotions and feelings that normal people have. Communicating with them is like dealing with cold machines. This is different from being taciturn; you’ll see soon enough.”

"Yes, Master." Xia Zuo glanced discreetly at the passing sorcerer.

The sorcerer, rendered as a sculpture, hovered on a tree branch, his hands tucked into his sleeves and placed in front of him. He wore a pointed, cone-shaped mage's hat, and his face was covered by a layer of black cloth, leaving only two round holes where his eyes should be. Under the pale blue moonlight unique to the Sorcerer's Grove, the sorcerer in black robes remained motionless, exuding an oppressive aura at all times.

"Crash." The sound of the wooden door sliding sideways came from behind.

Shazo and Rexor turned to look at the teleportation chamber.

A group of temple mages with unusual appearances walked out of the teleportation room.

"Keep going, don't stop." Rexor nudged Shazor with his elbow.

Xia Zuo glanced at the group behind him a few more times before following the bald man.

That team was full of people in a vegetative state!

They weren't the kind of patients lying motionless on the window, but rather humanoid creatures with bodies made of plants.

Judging from the body curves and two prominent breasts of the other group, those humanoid creatures should all be female.

Their faces are milky white flower buds, without mouths, ears, or noses, with two leaves serving as eyes...or perhaps eyebrows.

Their limbs and torsos, composed of light brown roots, were mostly covered by dresses woven from wreaths and vines. Clearly, these were vegetative beings with human consciousness, knowing how to conceal their privacy, unlike the tree-like monsters who were "barely clothed."

"Master, who are those people behind you? Are they grass-like creatures or humans?" Xia Zuo asked.

'I can tell you, but don't tell anyone else,' Rexol instructed. 'Not even Anjou.'

"Okay," Xia Zuo replied.

Rexor thought to himself:

That group of people were alchemists controlled by the Golden Bauhinia alchemist.

The leader of the team is Merlindora, the chief alchemist of the Golden Bauhinia.

"To be precise, the humanoid creature you see now is a [Plant Body] developed by Merlindora's team. This is a spellcaster's body developed by the Golden Vitex Alchemist Association, possessing the [Plant Affinity] characteristic, allowing it to freely communicate with most plants. It is said to have the ability to create natural environments. The Temple will undoubtedly need the Golden Vitex's help to modify the environment within the anti-magic field."

"I've learned something new," Xia Zuo remarked. "This is the first time I've ever seen a spellcaster's body like this. I thought the temple only had elemental bodies and runic bodies."

"There's a lot you don't know," Rexor glanced at him. "The temple is far more profound than you imagine."

The two walked forward for a while. Several more groups of people emerged from the teleportation room behind them.

Under Rexor's instructions, Shazor restrained the urge to look back, kept his head down and walked forward, finally stopping on a spacious circular platform.

The circular platform is about the size of two football fields, with a hemispherical glass dome in the center. The interior of the dome is filled with dark purple shadow energy, and some broken stone buildings and trees float within it.

Judging from this, it should be simulating the environment inside a magic-blocking field.

Rexor led Shazo around half of the glass dome before arriving in front of a sorcerer.

“Axut.” Rexor nodded to the two of them. Shazo placed his hand on his chest and bowed slightly.

"Letor," the arcane mage Rexor called Axtus, gestured to the stone chairs at the edge of the platform, "Sit down. We'll begin once everyone's here."

The sorcerer's voice sounded devoid of enthusiasm, even a bit stiff, but Rexor didn't care.

After the bald man helped Xia Zuo sit down, he looked at the guests who were about to arrive and introduced them to Xia Zuo:

"The second team is the Golden Thorn Alchemist team led by Merlindora, which I have already introduced to you."

"The third team... Do you see that fireball as big as a person? That's the founder of the [Furnace] meditation method, the Burner Lomar. Of course, this isn't him in person, just a [Furnace Body], and so are his teammates."

Merlindora and Lomar greeted the wizard one after the other, and their party, following Arcsut's instructions, took their seats in the chairs next to Rexor.

Shazo's gaze followed Lomar's furnace-like body... until the fireball came to rest peacefully on the chair, without setting it ablaze...

Rexor continued, "The fourth team, you should be familiar with them. Their leader is Kolas, the founder of the [Eye of Kolas] meditation method."

Kolas is shaped like a metal sphere suspended in mid-air. Its brass-colored metal shell has straight zigzag lines, somewhat like a circuit board. At the center of the sphere is an alchemical eye containing several nested circles.

'Is this the spellcaster's body invented by Kolas?' Xia Zuo asked.

"Yes, Kolas calls it 'True Sight,' and its main function within the anti-magic field is to detect invisible Church assassins and Shadow Fiends," Rexor said.

Kolas's metal sphere saw Shazo, winked at him, and then rested on the seat.

Shazo nodded in greeting to the metal sphere, then mentally asked Rexor, 'Could it be that every meditation technique has its own caster's body?'

“Of course,” Rexor said. “The caster’s body corresponding to the [Elemental Shell] meditation technique is the elemental body you currently possess.”

"And what about basic meditation?" Xia Zuo asked, "What kind of body does it correspond to?"

"【Elemental Star Network】." Rexor pointed cryptically to the entrance of the circular platform. "Look, they've arrived just in time. This team is the only one in this test to have chosen to use elemental energy. The other teams have all used mutation abilities and alchemy, or, like the two of us, bloodline power."

Xia Zuo looked over and was immediately taken aback.

This is all because the so-called "Elemental Star Network" body is extremely familiar to everyone who has received nine years of compulsory education.

This is something very similar to an atom.

An atom consists of an atomic nucleus and electrons that orbit the nucleus.

At the center of the [Elemental Star Network] is a multicolored crystal the size of an adult, equivalent to the nucleus of an atom.

Around this element of light, thousands of clever elements formed several nebulae, swirling and dancing around it, creating a dense network of elemental stars. These clever elements are equivalent to electrons in an atom.

Xia Zuo's first reaction upon seeing this design was: Aren't you worried about the elements dissipating by blatantly placing cute and adorable elements in the air?

Rexor had anticipated Shazo's question and offered his explanation:

If you learn the master-level basic meditation method, you will know that the elemental qualities of the wind element are [connection], the earth element is [firming], the fire element is [spreading], and the water element is [penetration]. These elemental qualities, which emphasize the close relationship between individuals, can create a force field that restrains the obedient elements.

'With this force field present, not only will the obedient elemental have no chance of dissipating, but it will also greatly enhance the caster's control over each obedient elemental.'

"Truly amazing..." Xia Zuo exclaimed in amazement, then asked with some confusion, "Master, why aren't the plant-based bodies, furnace-based bodies, true-vision eyes, and elemental star networks—these sound like incredibly powerful spellcaster bodies—widely adopted within the temple?"

“Good question, Shazo. You probably already know the answer.” Rexol glanced around. “Look around, how many of these spellcasters’ bodies still retain human characteristics?”

'This...' Xia Zuo looked at the raging fireball, the real body shaped like a giant eyeball, and the elemental star network that resembled atoms. After looking at them all, it seemed that only Merlindora's plant-like body could barely be associated with humans.

'Humanity is the foundation upon which the Temple was founded.'

Rexor said earnestly:

'It is precisely because we are all human that we can come together to fight against the Church of the Otherworldly Demons.'

'If we were to break free from the racial constraints of humanity and transform into another species—whether that species was originally present in nature or a man-made creation of alchemy and magic—it would lead to the disintegration of the Temple.'

Just as we humans wouldn't worry about the lives of wild bears, the members of the Temple who have transformed into other species no longer consider the safety of the human race their top priority; their only concern is the continuation and reproduction of their own species.

Xia Zuo nodded solemnly. "You're right, Master. I was too superficial. I only saw the power of the spellcaster's body, but not the hidden dangers. The elemental body is made based on an inner and outer shell, which in turn are modeled after the human body structure. To a large extent, the elemental body still retains some human characteristics. No wonder the Temple only displays it openly."

Rexor looked pleased. "It's good that you understand, Shazo. To tell you the truth, our battle plan isn't the most outstanding among all the plans on the scene, but it has one unparalleled advantage: the blood mage army can join the battle in human form, rather than appearing in the public eye of the temple as grotesque spellcasters."

While the two were talking in secret, another group arrived at the circular platform.

All members of this team possess a bouncy, jelly-like caster body, with the skeleton of some kind of creature faintly visible beneath the translucent shell.

Rexor explained that this was the "Ever-Changing Body" developed by the Tower Scholars' Transformation faction.

Just as its name suggests, this seemingly malleable spellcaster's body can transform into the appearance of other creatures. Rumor has it that the design inspiration for the [Ever-Changing Body] comes from a monster that has been completely extinct.

The team from the Wild Hammer Alchemists' Guild was the last one to arrive, and their outer shields were metal rods as thick as a wrist.

Under Xia Zuo's gaze, a group of metal rods suspended vertically in the air lined up and walked to the arcane mage, bowed their rods in greeting, and then sat down on the chairs set up for humans... The scene was inexplicably strange and awkward.

At this moment, Xia Zuo fully realized just how obvious his team's advantage was.

Chapter 89 Metals - Stability, Colloids - Assimilation

The team is complete, and the test begins.

Just as Xia Zuo had expected, inside the dome at the center of the circular platform was a test area simulating a magic-suppressing field.

The sorcerer Axtus described the condition of the test area in concise language:

"Shadow energy readings: observation plane 1 meter, observation period 3.2 seconds, bidirectional observation, average reading 94.6, peak 96.4, trough 92.8, difference 3.6, amplitude 1.8. Element energies with unidirectional polarization amplitudes higher than 1.8 cannot appear in the test area..."

After reciting a long string of data that would be difficult for laymen to understand, the arcane mage Arceus announced in his flat, monotone voice that the tests would proceed in order of arrival, starting with the last group of Wildhammer alchemists to arrive and proceeding in the order of arrival.
