These two elemental minions are not simply light orbs.
They are encased in a spherical metal shell.
The outer shell has three drooping mechanical arms, with a three-jaw plier at the end.
Two metal tubes, resembling gun barrels, are placed on either side of the metal sphere, with the openings pointing towards the ground.
“This is an Armed Elemental Guardian,” Vickers explained to Shazo. “You haven’t studied weapon alchemy yet, have you? We’ll discuss some things later.”
As he spoke, Vickers pressed the button that led to the 6th underground level.
After the gate closed, the elevator started with a hum and the elevator car descended smoothly.
Three underground floors.
After passing through several metal doors with handles held by armed elemental minions, the group stopped in a laboratory numbered "13".
A huge glass partition divides the laboratory into two areas, an inner and an outer one.
Ten researchers stood guard outside the glass wall.
There is a vertically placed culture jar inside, and the jar also has the number "13" on it.
The surrounding walls were covered with magic array patterns.
Four octahedral crystals float in the air, surrounding the central culture tank.
Xia Zuo followed the Demon Hunter into the inner area and discovered that the glass partition was one-way transparent.
The inside cannot see the outside, and the glass wall partition has excellent sound insulation; once the sealed door is closed, you cannot hear any sound from the outside when standing inside.
Rexor and Ceretus worked together to remove the chains from the doll, and before it swelled up to the point of exploding, they stuffed it into the incubation tank and closed the hatch.
The doll exploded inside the incubation tank, leaving a bloody mess on the glass. The blood was quickly swallowed up by the red sand.
The red sand thrashed about inside the culture tank, but to no avail; it couldn't even make a sound, let alone tip the tank over or crack.
Vickers stood guard outside the glass partition and immediately pressed a button on the control panel in front of him.
Four octahedral crystals emitted beams of light of four different colors, which were then introduced into the culture tank.
As soon as it was hit by the beam of light, the volatile red sand instantly calmed down, maintaining the form it had been in a second ago, frozen in place and unable to move.
The bald man breathed a sigh of relief, stared at Red Sand and grinned coldly, "Heh, now you can forget about self-destruction, Blood Demon Number 13."
Serites cracked his neck and nudged his companion's arm with his elbow. "Come on, buddy. Let's go to our usual spot for a drink. All those old flames of yours have long since vanished, but a lot of hot dancers have come in now."
"I'll leave right away."
Rexor pulled a communication ring from his leather armor and tossed it to Shazo. "Take this. If you discover anything unusual in the future, contact me first. You did well on the road, keep it up."
The two Witcher Masters greeted Vickers and left the laboratory.
Xia Zuo returned to the outside of the transparent glass, closed the sealed door, and listened to the conversation between Vickers and several researchers.
The researchers in white coats in front of me were all mage servants and skilled poison alchemists; only three of them had their badges indicating their level in other alchemical disciplines.
Clearly, in the Silvermoon Federation, a mage servant only needs to possess a proficient level of alchemy aptitude to graduate from the academy.
Unlike Starry Night Academy, where students need to master four alchemy disciplines to become formal mages before they can leave the academy.
"We must ensure that there are at least two people on duty in Laboratory 13 at all times."
Vickers took a stack of papers out of his pocket and handed them out, saying as he did so:
"Each person will be assigned two night shifts per week. If you cannot come to work that night, you must let me know in advance. If you discover anything unusual, press the alarm button immediately, and then stand in the blue area under your feet to avoid being accidentally injured by the armed elemental servants."
Xia Zuo looked down at the ground.
The blue area that Vickers mentioned is located near several bunkers, where there are sturdy desks or workbenches. As long as you stand inside and crouch down to hide under the desk, you won't be easily hit by the armed minions hanging on the wall.
“Come with me, Shazo. I’ll take you to your poison alchemy lab.”
Vickers looked around to make sure the researchers were at work, then called out to Xia Zuo and headed for the door.
The two arrived at the third basement level.
This floor is spacious. The elevator leads to a disinfection room where you need to change into a leather robe, but you don't need to shower. The disinfection effect here in the Silver Moon Federation is excellent.
After passing through the disinfection channel, there is a raised platform.
Standing on the high platform, one can overlook the hall filled with cabinets of poisons. Three figures dressed in leather robes used for poison making are retrieving the necessary vials of poison.
On the walls on both sides and at the end of the hall, there is a metal door every ten meters or so, behind which is the alchemy room of each expert-level poison alchemist.
Xia Zuo's alchemy room is located at the first metal door on the right. Go down from the platform and walk past a few rows of poison cabinets to get there.
The alchemical equipment in the alchemy room was completely different from that at Starry Night Academy.
They look very similar.
The difference lies in the materials used; where metal can be used, wood, which is prone to decay and fire, will never be used.
Even the shelves and desks are made of metal and covered with a layer of elegant leather to prevent the overall style of the room from being too harsh.
Vickers introduced the alchemy lab's facilities, the other three expert poison alchemists, and explained the precautions for daily work, emergency response measures, and other work-related matters, stopping at each step.
He talked for over half an hour before finally finishing his work-related instructions.
Vickers pulled an alchemy card, a thick manual, a certificate, and a set of keys from his pocket and handed them to the other person. "These are things related to your job."
"Let's talk about something else."
Vickers handed Xia Zuo a course card, saying, "Ms. Xingye has arranged a course in weapon alchemy for you, with two sessions every weekend at the nearby Yingrui Academy. She asked me to give you this course card."
"Thank you, Vickers."
Xia Zuo carefully put away the large pile of things and then looked at the contents of his work ID.
He was assigned to a research group that would study blood magic, and the research would be related to blood magic.
The document states that the working group may change in the future, and everything will be arranged by the supervisor.
The message from the cheat system came to my mind:
"A change in the host's identity has been detected. The character template has been updated, and a new [identity] has been added: Researcher at the Institute of Toxicology."

"Alright, Xia Zuo, I've said everything I needed to say. Do you have any questions? You can tell me now, or you can come find me on the second basement level. There are maps of the third and second basement levels in the appendix of the job handbook. I'm sure you can find my office."
“I’ve remembered them all,” Xia Zuo replied with a smile.
Vickers took out his pocket watch and glanced at it. "I'll take you to the lobby on the first floor. There's still a long time before you get off work today, so you can go to the Civic Center. That way, you can come to work tomorrow, and the people from the 17th Action Team will come to find you then."
He took out a secret communication ring and handed it over, saying, "Keep this safe, contact me anytime if needed."
The two parted ways in the bustling lobby on the first floor.
Near the ceiling above the hall, a dozen huge white octahedrons floated, shining brightly even without the beams of light shining on them.
Xia Zuo looked up and gazed around for a while before finding Anruer and Sylvia waiting in a corner of the hall. The group then boarded a public carriage by the roadside outside the high-rise building and headed to the civic center.
Due to traffic congestion and the large number of vehicles and pedestrians coming and going, the driver's seat was positioned close to the top of the carriage, and the carriage doors were moved to the sides of the carriage.
Inside the spacious four-wheeled carriage, Xia Zuo and the two ladies sat facing each other.
He took out his attendance card and said:
“Sylvia, Lady Starry Night has arranged a course for me.”
"Yes, I know about that."
Sylvia smiled slightly, "Ms. Starry Night is the leader of the resident mage corps in Poseidon City and also manages the mage police of Poseidon City."
So... Anru and I have powerful backers in Poseidon! ...Xia Zuo smiled and put away his lecture card.
A car drove past the window and overtook the carriage where the three were.
Anru looked excitedly at the roadside scenery through the window in the car door, especially interested in the cars emitting white steam.
"Sylvia, is that the car they talked about in the book? That's interesting. Can I buy one someday?"
Sylvia nodded with a smile, “Of course you can, but you have to be prepared. A car is not as easy to maintain as a horse-drawn carriage. You have to refuel it, clean the driver’s seat regularly, and maintain the parts inside. If you encounter strong winds, rain, or snow, it will take a while just to start it.”
"Hmm...then it's better to take a public carriage." Anru tugged at the other person's sleeve. "Where will we stay tonight?"
"Citizens at grade A or above will be allocated housing by the Civic Center. If you want to be closer to the city center, choose an apartment. If you want more spacious housing, you can choose a low-rise house near the suburbs."
Sylvia patiently said, "I suggest you choose the low house. It's a bit far, but no one will walk by on the upper floors, and you won't hear drunkards howling in the street at night. You can sleep in on weekend mornings without any horns urging you to get up."
She paused, her gaze shifting back and forth between the two of them. "You are both Class A citizens. If you plan to live together, you will get a larger house."
Sylvia looked at Anru, whose cheeks were flushed, and said:
"However, you need to register at the civic center first to confirm your relationship. When choosing housing, only engaged or married couples can share a room. This is related to the laws of Magina State."
Xia Zuo thought to himself that he could finally solidify their relationship, and a smile appeared on his face. "Sylvia, do we need to decorate the house ourselves?"
"No need, it's all already renovated."
Sylvia shook her head. "Before you have your own elemental servants, you can hire a housekeeping company to come and clean regularly. If you don't like people coming to your house, you'll have to clean it yourself, which will save you a little money. By the way, don't use magic when cleaning. Magic can only be used in special occasions and under special circumstances within the Federation, otherwise you'll attract the magic police."
"Ding-a-ling~" The bell on the wall of the carriage rang. The driver came to the ground, unfolded the folding stairs under the door frame, opened the carriage door, and peered into the carriage. "Ladies and gentlemen, we have arrived at the Civic Center."
Sylvia led the two downstairs, took out a banknote from her handbag and handed it to the driver, saying, "The extra is a tip."
"Thank you, generous and beautiful lady." The driver bowed and saw the three of them off as they walked up the steps of the civic center.
Inside the Civic Center.
Accompanied by Sylvia, Xia Zuo and Anruer submitted their identity grant documents, and then, facing the flags of the Silver Moon Federation and the Magina State, and witnessed by the emblem of the Mage Temple, read the oath, thus completing their oath-taking ceremony.
