In those days, there was no paper. Words were carved and written on wooden boards and bamboo. An article of a thousand words required more than a dozen people to carry it to learn. It was incredibly difficult.

Han Chunming's second task was to produce paper. Papermaking is not a difficult technology; rotten tree bark, rotten cloth, and even a lot of wood chips can be used to make paper.

The process of screening and separating raw materials, pulping, forming, and finally drying has been used for thousands of years, with machines simply replacing them in later generations.

In Han Chunming's view, this era was almost completely impoverished, with both the craftsmanship and the raw materials used being the most basic and primitive.

Sometimes Han Chunming would teach the simplest techniques, but those people were so clueless that they couldn't understand the principles even after listening for a long time, which made him so angry that he got blisters in his mouth.

For example, although the Yin people discovered open-pit coal mines, they rarely used them and even regarded them as ominous.

Because they used coal to smelt iron, there have been more than one cases of carbon monoxide poisoning, and dozens of people have died.

This coal is not anthracite. Although the quality is acceptable, they are using the most primitive combustion methods.

So Han Chunming taught them how to make honeycomb briquettes, which would burn faster and more completely. Han Chunming felt it would be a sin not to utilize such a large coal mine in all aspects of life.

Han Chunming also taught them how to make honeycomb briquettes and how to avoid carbon monoxide poisoning, among other things.

Even though it was such a simple concept, Han Chunming explained it ten times, and most people still didn't understand, which made him so angry that he wanted to punch someone.

Coal is the most important step in the resource process. After they learn some basic coal knowledge, Han Chunming will teach them the highly technical process of making "coke".

Only when coke is produced can true forging technology be greatly improved. When steel appears, warfare will become even more brutal.

Looking at the yellow and black semi-finished iron blocks in the warehouse, Han Chunming was speechless. The technology of this era was just like those iron blocks, with so many impurities that it was beyond words.

This era has far too many shortcomings. Han Chunming sleeps less than four hours a day. He has so much to teach, and he must make the most of every minute.

Because he knew that his time was definitely limited.

It's almost impossible to develop secretly for more than ten years, unless you only do small-scale operations, which is not Han Chunming's style. He must accumulate all his strength and make his tribe strong in every aspect.

Besides building Tianshan City and Jushi City, Han Chunming's conquest plans did not stop; in fact, he accelerated them.

After the Yin tribe submitted, Han Chunming conquered another tribe, a tribe of seven thousand people, two weeks later, and killed three thousand of them.

Helpless, with too many dissenting voices, Han Chunming had no time to educate them, so he used the simplest and most direct method: to kill all those who opposed him.

Over the next three months, Han Chunming successfully conquered several tribes within a radius of a hundred miles, and the population of Tianshan City, the new immigrant city, finally exceeded 100,000.

After resolving the surrounding crisis, Han Chunming began to recuperate and accelerate infrastructure construction and education and skills training.

Everyone except children under five years old will have their own tasks.

As long as you can still move, you must go to farm, fish, cut down trees, move bricks, and even study.

Everyone was mobilized, and the selection and training of the army were carried out almost simultaneously.

During the first month of recuperation, Han Chunming established the first hospital in Tianshan City. He crammed basic medical and nursing knowledge into the minds of the two hundred young men and women in just one week.

Han Chunming has too many things to manage, and he can't teach each specialty in too much detail. He can only teach them using the most basic methods.

These people are like seeds. Han Chunming only sows the seeds, not fertilizes them. In the future, most of them may become weeds, but there will always be a few seeds that grow up in adversity and multiply into a forest.

The preparation and construction of the army also took Han Chunming at least a third of his time. He had too many things to prepare and too many things to think about.

Han Chunming's insane behavior cannot be hidden for long. Now that the Qin and Xiongnu are sharpening their knives, the Dragon Clan tribe will inevitably be affected sooner or later.

The only way to change your destiny is to become strong!

While Han Chunming was extremely busy, Yi Xiaochuan, the chosen one of this world, was having another extraordinary encounter.

After he was captured by Tu'an Kingdom, he was originally intended to be used as a sacrificial offering to God for a feast.

But then the chosen heroine appeared: Princess Yu Shu of Tu'an Kingdom, who begged her father, the king, to give these poor laborers a way to survive.

So King Tuan ordered a tiger to be released to fight the laborers to the death.

The chosen one, Yi Xiaochuan, once again displayed his divine power, successfully revealing his domineering aura, stirring up a gust of wind that scared away the tiger.

And so, Yi Xiaochuan successfully became a hero of the Tiger Courage, once again stealing the spotlight and attracting the attention of Princess Yu Shu, the most beautiful woman in Tu'an Kingdom.

Even Yi Xiaochuan, a seasoned womanizer, was captivated for the first time by the noble, elegant, and pure Princess Yu Shu.

Yi Xiaochuan, relying on his handsome looks, successfully persuaded Princess Yu Shu to help him escape with the group of laborers. However, the escape ultimately failed, and he was captured by General Jin of Tu'an Kingdom.

Thus began another contest of domineering presence, in which Yi Xiaochuan narrowly won, successfully earning General Jin's friendship.

And so, Yi Xiaochuan and the group of laborers settled down temporarily in Tu'an Kingdom, living a leisurely life every day.

Occasionally glancing at the beautiful and charming Princess Yu Shu, Yi Xiaochuan felt extremely happy.

Princess Yu Shu was also attracted to Yi Xiaochuan's pretty face, and the two secretly developed feelings for each other. They originally thought that this kind of life would continue.

However, Tu'an was caught between the Qin Dynasty and the Xiongnu. The Qin Dynasty had already given Tu'an an ultimatum: either offer up supplies and kneel down to call them "father," or destroy the country.

King Tuan was deeply worried and lost his appetite. One day, Princess Yushu suddenly came to visit her father. The old king looked down at his precious daughter and a thought suddenly arose in his mind.

His daughter was eighteen years old, with skin as white as jade, big eyes like crescent moons in the sky, and a high bust like pearls in the night. Every smile and frown was so alluring.

Even this old man who is almost sixty years old is tempted, so wouldn't Qin Shi Huang, who is only in his early forties, be drooling?

The old king immediately had an idea!

Chapter Sixteen: Farming and Development

The old king then commissioned an artist to paint a portrait of his daughter and sent it to Xianyang for Qin Shi Huang to choose from.

Even if it's just a portrait, Yu Shu's unique and noble beauty can't help but stir one's heart.

The portrait was delivered by a messenger to Xianyang with great urgency. The old king, like an old patron, awaited the favor of Qin Shi Huang for his daughter.

No matter how beautiful his daughter is, she cannot compare to his vast empire. Using his daughter to secure the peace of Tu'an Kingdom is practically the only option left for the old king.

Half a year passed in the blink of an eye. Qin general Meng Tian led an army of 300,000 to attack northward, defeating the Xiongnu several times and successfully recovering tens of thousands of kilometers of land in the Henan region.

The Henan region here is not the Henan of later times, but rather the area from Inner Mongolia to Gansu and Ningxia, a region with grasslands, the Yellow River, and fertile land.

The Xiongnu people once roamed freely on this land for hundreds of years. The horses here are particularly strong, and the cattle and sheep are particularly fat. Since ancient times, it has been a strategic location fought over by military strategists.

This battle also established the might of the Qin Empire. After the Xiongnu were driven away, Meng Tian began to transport hundreds of thousands of laborers to this place to start the construction of the Great Wall.

In the past six months, Han Chunming's Tianshan City has begun to take shape. During this period, he has sent out twenty groups of scouts to investigate the situation inside and outside the pass.

As the situation became increasingly urgent, he stopped launching campaigns everywhere. In the past six months, he had been recuperating and gradually making the dragon tribe stronger.

Last month, Tianshan City and Jushi City also conducted their first population census. The population of the two cities has reached 131,600, including more than 60,000 children aged 15 and only more than 5,000 elderly people over 60 years old.

This population ratio is not surprising at all. In this era, not many people can live to be over sixty years old. In addition, this was not a safe era to begin with. If one in ten people can live to sixty years old safely, it is already one in ten.

This population ratio presents both an opportunity and a burden for the Dragon Clan tribe.

The opportunity lies in the large proportion of children and young people, who are like blank slates with great potential for development. These people will be the cornerstone of the Dragon Clan tribe in the future.

The burden, of course, refers to the lack of resources, the inability of children to create value, and the astronomical amount of food and meat they consume every day.

However, this burden is not too difficult for Han Chunming. It's only a few hundred thousand people, and he can still find a way to support them.

Apart from children under five years old, everyone else who is still able to move must participate in learning and labor. The value created by this labor force can completely offset the food they consume.

Han Chunming began to cultivate tens of thousands of acres of land around the lake and plant large areas of grain crops.

New agricultural tools, waterwheels, and irrigation equipment were invented in a very short time.

Around the lake, hundreds of large waterwheels, three to four meters high, stand around the lake. These waterwheels are driven by livestock such as oxen and horses, and transport water to tens of thousands of acres of land around the lake day and night.

In just two generations, Tianshan City will become a large city, and perhaps the people here will live here for generations to come.

I wonder if anyone will remember who the original explorers of this land were in the future!

In agriculture, knowledge goes beyond just water sources; seeds and fertilizers are the truly most important things.

It's the first year, and Han Chunming plans to plant only the most common local wheat and some beans. Unfortunately, in this era, there are no crops like sweet potatoes, potatoes, or corn.

Han Chunming planned to introduce some crops and fruits from the Western Regions. In later generations, watermelons, cucumbers, broad beans, green onions, garlic, pepper, sesame, grapes, and so on were all introduced from the Western Regions.

Why did agriculture flourish in ancient times? Because land utilization was too low, and people were basically at the mercy of the weather. Han Chunming had to gradually change this situation.

Even the simplest agricultural knowledge, such as how to select seeds and how to till the land, is largely unknown to many farmers in this era.

Fortunately, the biggest problem of water source has now been solved. The other problems can be solved with time, education and experience, and more time.

Han Chunming's emergence advanced agricultural technology by almost a thousand years, but even if it was a thousand years earlier, it was still only during the Tang Dynasty.

What Han Chunming needs most right now is time. For the past six months, he has been developing his strength cautiously, afraid of offending the real big shots around him.

In this era of isolation, news of the surrounding tribes being conquered and assimilated by the dragon tribes barely spread.

There's no way around it. Now that we have a large family and business, if even a slight accident happens, all my efforts over the past year will be wasted.

A tribe of over 100,000 people isn't actually that large, but it still holds a place in this land.

The main reason why the dragon tribe was able to develop in a stealthy manner was that there were not many resources within a radius of a hundred miles.

Apart from the large lake below Tianshan City, the surrounding mines are actually useless and no one cares about them.

Moreover, this large lake is far from the city, and even more than 150 miles away from the Qin border, so naturally no one pays much attention to it.

The land here is also very barren. Apart from the tens of thousands of acres of land along the lake that can be cultivated, planting in other places is almost beyond what this era can solve.

Therefore, no large tribes or even states had ever existed in this area before. The Yin tribe, with more than 50,000 people, was already the largest tribe in the region.

A country needs sufficient resources to survive and develop. Only Han Chunming could survive in such a place because the knowledge in his mind was enough to overcome certain difficulties.

Take Tu'an Kingdom for example. Although its population is only 600,000, it has a vast grassland and farmland. The Dragon Clan Tribe and Tu'an Kingdom are only a little over 100 kilometers apart, but their terrains are completely different.

The Dragon Clan now has an army of 5,000, including 800 cavalry and over 4,000 infantry. After half a year of training, it has already begun to take shape.

Apart from the cavalry, the infantry were mostly part-time farmers and part-time soldiers, spending half the day on farm work and the other half on military training.

There's no way around it, there's just too much work to do right now. The construction of Giant Stone City isn't progressing as smoothly as we'd hoped. Apart from a few small factories, it hasn't even reached the basic form of an industrial city yet.

There was no way around it; the foundation of this era was too weak, and the population reserve was almost zero. In Han Chunming's view, those master craftsmen who had worked in the ironworks for decades were not as good as the apprentices in the small workshops of later generations.

Han Chunming has now established dozens of literacy classes and dozens of skills training classes in Tianshan City. Out of a population of over 100,000, less than 500 can read. You can imagine how difficult it is to eradicate illiteracy!

Han Chunming is not accompanied by any guards, but by two hundred of the most intelligent young men and women, who are among the most intelligent people in the hundreds of thousands of people.

They were all selected by Han Chunming through a series of IQ tests. Except for the few hours Han Chunming slept, these people spent most of the day with Han Chunming.

These people were not only Han Chunming's first batch of students, but also the first batch of teachers in the Dragon Clan tribe.

This group of people received comprehensive simplified Chinese literacy training. They not only learned to read, but they also had to receive comprehensive learning. They had to learn whatever Han Chunming taught them.

These people are Han Chunming's treasures; each one is priceless.
