Yongmeng kept these acts of kindness in her heart and was determined to help Qiren improve his grades in order to repay his parents' kindness.

As for the method... China has taught us that there's no grade that can't be improved through sheer volume of practice questions. If there is, it's simply because you haven't done enough practice questions...

After washing his face and cleaning the towel, Emu slowly replied, "I don't have a target yet. According to my senior, there is an attraction between knights. I'll just wander around and eventually run into someone."

Emu was quite honest with Takato, telling him most of what he needed to do. He only spoke vaguely about the fragments, describing them as something special.

He didn't think there was anything to hide about what he had done; it wasn't anything bad. He would be staying with Qi's family afterward, so his actions couldn't be kept secret forever. Rather than risk some messy misunderstandings later, it was better to clarify things beforehand.

"No goal? Then come to the park with me! I know a really secluded spot in the park that not many people go. I was originally planning to let Guilmon hide there. Now we don't need to hide anymore, and Guilmon can get some fresh air over there!"

Keito excitedly told Emu about his plans, his face beaming with genuine joy.

"I have two more good friends! Hirokazu and Kenta! I'll call them later and invite them over to give them a big surprise!!"

Qi Ren gestured with his hands to show how surprised he was.

"Yes, yes, before you say all that, wash your face first. The foam is coming out."

Emu took two steps back, looking somewhat disgusted. Takato, embarrassed, suppressed his joy and picked up a towel to wipe himself.

By the time they finished washing up, Guilmon and Wrinklemon were already sitting at the dining table, happily eating bread.

Guilmon happily raised its hands and exclaimed, "The cream bread is so delicious!"

"Eat more if you like it, it's all homemade."

Takato's mother brought in a few more pieces of bread, placed them on the table, and casually patted Guilmon's head.

Guilmon didn't resist, lowering its head to let it stroke it, its tail swishing back and forth, looking very happy.

To be honest, when not driven by its wild instincts, Guilmon's adorable and goofy appearance is quite endearing. Even Takato's mom, who was startled by it yesterday, has grown fond of this red dinosaur.

And then there's the Wrinklemon, which is also an incredibly cute creature. After petting Guilmon, Takato's mother stroked the Wrinklemon a couple more times before finally going back to work, completely satisfied.

The group quickly finished breakfast, told Takato's parents, and then headed to the park with the two Digimon.

Because Guilmon was so large, it was difficult to hide. Therefore, the small team moved slowly, carefully avoiding pedestrians. By the time they arrived at the park, Takato's two good friends had been waiting for a long time.

"Qiren, you're so slow! You said you were going to give us a surprise, is this what you're going to do?"

From afar, you could hear one of the boys loudly complaining. But there wasn't much resentment in his words; it was just friends playfully teasing each other.

"Sorry, Bohe. I was a little slow on the way. But my surprise will definitely make you jump for joy!"

Qi Ren apologized. Being late was indeed his fault. But the next moment, he confidently unveiled his "surprise":

"Look! This is my partner Digimon, the Digimon I created myself! Guilmon!"

Takato stepped aside, revealing the bewildered Guilmon. Guilmon tilted its head, raised its right paw, and greeted, "Hello~"

A familiar silence fell for a second or two, and then…

"Aaaaaah! Oh my god! A living Digimon!! Takato, how did you do that?! Aaaaah!!! I'm so envious!!!"

A brown-haired boy screamed and rushed up to Guilmon, groping and touching it all over.

The other boy, who wore glasses, wasn't as flustered, but he also adjusted his glasses and went over to pet Guilmon.

Guilmon was a little confused, but he didn't refuse, letting the two of them touch him all over.

Qi Ren was pleased with his friend's reaction, but he didn't forget he had another friend, and quickly said:

"Alright, don't rush, you'll have plenty of time to play with Guilmon later. Let me introduce you to a new friend. His name is Emu Hojo, and he also has his own Digimon partner!"

Takato knew that talking about people from another world probably wouldn't attract his two friends' attention. But as soon as Digimon were mentioned, the two were immediately drawn over, and following Takato's direction, they saw Emu standing to the side, holding Wrinklemon, watching them with a smile.

Most people are unserious in front of their friends, but they still pay attention to their image in front of strangers. These two boys are no exception.

They stood there, their faces flushed. After a moment's hesitation, the brown-haired boy spoke first: "Y-you, hello! I'm Hirokazu Shiota, and I love Digimon the most!"

"Hello, I'm Kenta Kitagawa, nice to meet you," the bespectacled boy said, adjusting his glasses.

"Hello, I'm Emu Hojo. This is my partner, Wrinklemon," Emu replied with a smile.

In his arms, the wrinkled beast flicked its tail and said, "I am a wrinkled beast! Hello!"

"Oh my god, so cute! Is this a baby Digimon? It's just too adorable!"

Upon seeing the Wrinkle Beast, the two boys immediately shed their initial awkwardness and enthusiastically approached it, gently stroking it around Emu.

After having his fill of fighting, Bohe withdrew his hands contentedly, then said with some regret, "Wrinklemon is very cute, but it's only in its baby stage and doesn't have much fighting power. Actually, I'd really like to see what real-world Digimon battles are like."

"A real battle..."

Qiren, who had been watching with a smile, suddenly thought of the fierce look in Guilmon's eyes when driven by its wild nature after hearing what Bohe said, and his expression turned somewhat ugly.

Emu noticed Takato's expression and quickly tried to comfort him.

Takato was initially quite introverted, and Guilmon's wild fighting style left a deep impression on him. This impression was gradually overcome after he experienced many stories with Guilmon.

Qi Ren is currently in a state of distress and needs psychological counseling.

However, the wrinkled beast in Emu's arms heard Bohe's words and became dissatisfied. It struggled and jumped off Emu's arms to the ground, shouting:

"I'm not without fighting ability! If you want to see, I'll let you see!"

As it spoke, a white light emanated from the Wrinklemon's body, and dazzling data streams flashed. A Digimon with golden fur, resembling a large dog, appeared in the same spot:

"Foldbeast Evolution—"

"Lion Cub!!!"

Chapter 8, Makino Ruki

"It's evolved."

The children present were all captivated by the sudden evolution of the Wrinklebeast.

Guilmon, perhaps already quite familiar with Wrinklemon, wasn't spurred on by this suddenly appearing, potentially threatening Digimon. Instead, it happily approached and asked curiously:

"Are you a wrinkle beast? How come you've become different?"

After evolving, Wrinklemon became much more composed, and its voice changed from a child's voice to a teenager's voice:

"Guilmon, that's me. I just evolved. Now I'm called Lionmon!"

"Wow, this is amazing! Is this how Digimon evolve? Leomon, will it evolve into Leomon next?"

"That's right, it's Leomon. I quite like Leomon. I cried when he shielded the Chosen Children from harm."

Hirokazu and Kenta also came over, looking at the lion cub and discussing it.

In the world of Digimon Tamers, there is the first season of the Digimon anime. Takato is a huge fan of Taichi. The two just mentioned the fate of Leomon in the anime.

To be honest, Leomon was a very memorable character in Digimon Adventure 1. His death brought tears to the eyes of countless children.

However, it has been persecuted by the writers ever since. Whenever Leomon appears, it basically dies at least once, or at the very least, suffers some kind of torment. As a result, Leomon has earned the nickname "Death Bumper Monster".

Of course, none of the children here knew about this reference except for Emu. Instead, they admired Leomon's strength, righteous character, and gentle attitude.

Emu, however, fell into deep thought. The Wrinklemon had indeed reached the point where it could evolve. Parad had evolved even faster than him back then.

However, the world they inhabit is somewhat unique. In this world, the concept of evolution is personified as a Digimon called "Gulermon." For a Digimon to evolve, it must acquire Gulermon's power. Just now, Wrinklemon evolved without acquiring Gulermon's power.

Of course, based on the timeline, Gullmon is still in the Digital World and may not have even transformed into a Digimon yet, so it's possible that Wrinklemon unknowingly gained Gullmon's power.

In the original story, didn't Terriermon evolve into Gargomon in a moment of crisis? There was no Gargomon back then.

However, another possibility cannot be ruled out: that the Wrinkled Beasts are visitors from another world and are therefore not subject to the restrictions of this world. They can evolve as long as the data requirements are met.

"Forget it, there's no way to verify its accuracy by just imagining things like this. Let's leave it for later and learn about it slowly. Right now, let's comfort Qiren first..."

Emu shook her head, deciding not to dwell on it. Just as she looked up to comfort Takato and help him out of his reverie, she saw Takato excitedly approach the lion cub, reaching out to stroke it and praising it as he did so.

"The lion cub's fur is so smooth and warm, it feels so nice to touch."

Guilmon nuzzled against Takato, asking expectantly, "What about me?"

"You? You're great too! No, Guilmon, you feel the best when you touch me!"

Without hesitation, Takato abandoned Lionmon and instead grabbed Guilmon's head.

"Um...it seems like they don't need me anymore."

Emu touched his nose, looking slightly embarrassed.

Just as Takato was interacting intimately with Guilmon, Guilmon suddenly glared at him, its eyes turning fierce. It pulled its head out of Takato's arms, dragged Takato behind it with its claws, and let out a menacing roar at a large tree.

"Guilmon? Guilmon, what's wrong with you?"

Seeing Guilmon's familiar expression, Takato felt a little scared and wanted to pull Guilmon back.

Emu reached out and grabbed Takato. Lionmon also rushed to Guilmon's side, shouting:

"Step back a bit! There's a Digimon over there!"

"Another Digimon? Where is it? Could it be my partner? Am I going to become a Digimon Tamer too?"

"No, it should be me too! I'm much better at cards than you."

Hirokazu and Kenta, upon hearing Lionmon's warning, were not afraid at all. Instead, they were eager to become tamers of the unknown Digimon and even started arguing.

Emu sighed and quickly stepped forward to drag the two behind Lionmon and Guilmon.

These two children have never seen a Digimon battle before; ignorance is bliss. If they encounter a wild, aggressive Digimon, they might get hurt.

After all, not everyone has such a large door. Physically beating up Digimon is too far-fetched for them.

"Not bad, your senses are quite sharp; you even detected the Fox Demon Beast!"

Beneath the large tree where the Gilmon stood guard, a girl emerged from behind the tree. She had a high ponytail, a cold expression on her face, and wore a blue and white striped t-shirt with a broken heart pattern on the chest.

After she stepped out, a golden figure suddenly appeared on a branch of the tree. It resembled a fox standing upright, its expression indifferent, its gaze coldly sweeping down upon the creature below. This was the "Fox Demon Beast" the girl had spoken of.

As he watched the girl walk out, Kenta adjusted his glasses, suddenly clapped his hands, and exclaimed:

"Oh my, you're that 'Digimon Queen' who won the card tournament, right... Makino Ruki? Are you a Digimon Tamer too? Takato and Emu are too, we can be friends!"

Hiroya looked up at the fox spirit and exclaimed in surprise:

"Wow, is this your partner? Her name is Renamon? She looks so cool!"

Faced with Kenta's enthusiastic invitation, Ruki frowned and said coldly:

"It seems you know nothing. The meaning of Digimon's existence is to fight. Making friends? No, when two Digimon trainers meet, they will only do one thing: fight! Go, Renamon!"

The fox-like beast didn't speak, but its figure had already disappeared from the tree.
