Suzakumon's tone carried a hint of disdain and pity for the ignorant and arrogant fellow, and his words made MetalSeadramon's heart tremble.

"You knew?! You Four Holy Beasts really did have a backup plan! I knew it! You are top-tier beings who guard the four corners of the Digital World, you can't be that simple. You definitely have something going on!"

MetalSeadramon retreated a short distance, shouting with some apprehension.

Suzakumon felt a little ashamed. Aside from the Burning Digicore, a low-tech, extravagant trump card, their Four Holy Beasts were really that simple. It seemed a bit unfair to MetalSeadramon for having imagined so much.

However, the Vermilion Bird showed no change on its surface, only coldly saying:

"That's natural!"

"No! You're bluffing me!"

However, MetalSeadramon wasn't completely stupid. He'd only been a little neurotic because of Puppetmon's death, and after a brief moment of mental lapse, he reconnected.

"If you had such abilities, how could you be in such a sorry state? With your temper as a Vermilion Bird beast, how could you possibly tolerate this?"

"Yes, I was a bit too obvious. I was still scared by the death of the puppet beast, hey, I'm afraid of dying too. But now I see through your little trick!"

MetalSeadramon's gaze turned much fiercer, and it sneered:

"You have no way to turn the tide, and you have no support. Otherwise, given your fiery temper, wouldn't you have pounced on me immediately? Why would you be here chatting with me for so long? I was almost fooled by you! But now, it's time to end this!"

"Ultimate Wave Cannon!"

MetalSeadramon roared and fired a water-attribute energy cannon at Suzakumon from the tip of its nose.

"Damn, stereotypes are a killer!"

The Vermilion Bird roared and flapped its wings, unleashing a vortex of fire from its body that rivaled the solar prominences spewed out by the Big Bang.

"Red Flame!!"

The forces of water and fire collided, resulting in a violent explosion. White, scalding hot steam spread outwards.

MetalSeadramon unleashed its energy to disperse the water vapor, aiming to press its advantage and suppress Suzakumon.

He was now focused on unleashing his anger at Suzakumon for being tricked, and also venting his fear caused by Puppetmon's death. He completely ignored the faint sound of a ship's horn in his ears.

As he blew away the steam and grinned maliciously, preparing to continue his attack on the Vermilion Bird Beast, a humanoid dragon-beast, primarily yellow and orange in color, raised its sharp claws at him and beckoned:

"Hey, hello!"

Then it slashed down with a claw!

Chapter 35 WarGreymon

MetalSeadramon was completely unprepared for this suddenly appearing creature. Faced with its sharp claws, it instinctively twisted its body, making a dodging motion.

However, he didn't really care. MetalSeadramon was covered in Chrono Digizoid, and most Digimon couldn't break through his defenses.

The research on digital alloys in the current Digital World is still in its early stages; other Digital Worlds haven't yet created digital alloys with different colors and functions. Having digital alloy on one's person means unparalleled defensive capabilities.

MetalSeadramon, whose entire body is covered in Chrono Digizoid, possesses a defense so strong it's almost despair-inducing. During the initial battle with Suzakumon, MetalSeadramon's ability to hold on was undoubtedly due to the formidable defense provided by this alloy.

However, to MetalSeadramon's surprise, when faced with the humanoid dragon's claws, his Digizoid armor seemed fake, and was torn apart by the humanoid dragon as easily as cutting butter, leaving six bloody marks on his body.

MetalSeadramon roared and quickly retreated, feeling the intense pain in its wounds. Enraged, it bellowed:

"Who are you?! How could you break my Chrono Digizoid?!"

"Dragon Beast Slayer, that's the name of my claws. I don't need to elaborate on their effects."

The humanoid dragon-beast flicked its claws and calmly said:

"As for me, my name is WarGreymon!"

"Wow, Agumon's Ultimate form is so cool!"

The children gathered around Koushiro's computer, watching WarGreymon repel MetalSeadramon, and couldn't help but sigh in admiration.

"You are the chosen children? You possess Digicores given to you by Xuanwu Beast. Could it be that Puppetmon's death is also related to you?"

The Vermilion Bird leaned against the Dark One, its two red eyes peering through the window as it watched the children inside the carriage and asked a question.

He had just prepared for MetalSeadramon's impending attack when he sensed the presence of Genbumon. Then, WarGreymon arrived and said he would temporarily take over the battlefield, allowing Suzakumon to rest.

Suzakumon didn't say much. Trusting Xuanwumon, he simply left the battlefield and, following the direction pointed out by WarGreymon and sensing Xuanwumon's aura, found the Dark Ship.

After that, the children had only just introduced themselves to him and hadn't even exchanged a few words when their attention was drawn to WarGreymon's heroic figure, and they all crowded around to look at the screen.

Incidentally, the scene on the screen was also created by Koushiro's little program. The fact that they could produce this kind of livestream effect solely based on the inexplicable connection between the Digivice and Digimon partners is quite outrageous. Anyway, Emu was quite impressed.

Taiichi hesitated for a moment, glancing at the computer screen and then at Suzakumon. He knew it wasn't appropriate to leave Suzakumon hanging, but he also wanted to see how WarGreymon fared in its battle. After all, it was his partner.

Emu noticed Taichi's worries, whispered a few questions to Koushiro, then patted Taichi on the shoulder and said:

"Let's deal with Suzakumon first. I had Koushiro record this part, so you can watch it whenever you want later."

Upon hearing this, Taiyi nodded slightly, walked to the window, and said directly:

"Yes, we teamed up with Xuanwumon to defeat Puppetmon. The purpose of our visit is to help you defeat MetalSeadramon. Xuanwumon was originally supposed to come along, but he burned four Digicores to defeat Puppetmon, and he is currently recovering from his injuries and cannot come. These Digicores are a gift from him, hoping that we can become stronger."

Suzakumon remained calm regarding Genbumon burning its Digicore:

"I see. Xuanwu Beast did a good job. I was originally planning to burn my digital core, but now that you're here, perhaps you'll have a better method?"

After hearing Suzakumon's words, the children's attention was briefly diverted. Please don't talk about burning Digicores as casually as if it were something you ate for dinner, okay? Please show some respect for Digicores!

Taiyi chuckled twice and said:

"Forget about burning the Digicores, we still have enough power. Suzakumon, you rest for a bit and conserve your strength. My partner, WarGreymon, has a weapon called Dragonmon Buster, which can hold off MetalSeadramon for a while and even inflict damage. Once you've recovered a bit, we'll go all out and try to finish it off with one blow!"

"Okay. Then I'll rest first. You can decide when to make your move; just call me when the time is right."

The Vermilion Bird nodded, pulled its head back, and fell into a deep sleep.

He was indeed very tired.

"WarGreymon, the killer of Dragonmon?"

MetalSeadramon narrowed its eyes, confirming that it had never heard of the name before. The thought of being injured by an unknown nobody fueled MetalSeadramon's anger.

"You bastard I've never even heard of, die!"

MetalSeadramon suddenly twisted its body, and its huge steel tail came crashing down on WarGreymon's head.

"Never learn your lesson! Dragon Beast Slayer!"

WarGreymon showed no fear, its sharp claws meeting MetalSeadramon's tail.

"choke!"

The sound of metal clanging rang out, MetalSeadramon's tail swung upwards, and WarGreymon took two steps back.

Unlike before when MetalSeadramon was unprepared, this time MetalSeadramon attached a large amount of energy to its tail. Combined with the hardness of the Digizoid itself, it prevented WarGreymon from breaking through its defenses.

However, the DragonBeast Buster's suppression of DragonBeast-type Digimon is truly exaggerated; MetalSeadramon's power was reduced by more than half when facing it. Otherwise, WarGreymon wouldn't have simply retreated two steps and been done for.

MetalSeadramon and the others were not satisfied with this result and continued to swing their tails, striking WarGreymon.

WarGreymon, however, had no intention of fighting at MetalSeadramon's pace. He knew perfectly well that the Master Four's greatest advantage was their energy. Continuing to wear down MetalSeadramon would only result in his own defeat, and he wouldn't be able to effectively utilize his Dragonmon slayer abilities.

What WarGreymon needs to do is to inflict as much damage as possible on MetalSeadramon. Even a small wound will do.

Thanks to its ability to slay dragons, even minor wounds will take MetalSeadramon a long time to heal. This will consume a lot of its energy and stamina.

This portion of the energy expenditure cannot be replenished by supplies from others. At best, recovery can be faster with sufficient energy support. Just like when a puppet beast is severely injured by concentrated fire, even with ample energy, the wounds will not heal immediately.

Over the years, the battles between the Four Heavenly Kings and the Four Divine Beasts have not been without their losses. However, energy is undoubtedly the most crucial factor, and the key to the Four Heavenly Kings' ability to turn the tide.

However, the lack of physical strength and energy also limited the Four Heavenly Kings. Even when they were full of energy, they sometimes had to slow down their attacks to allow their physical strength and energy to recover. This is the key factor that allowed the battle to continue for so many years.

Otherwise, with their bug-like buff of unlimited energy, the Four Divine Beasts wouldn't have been able to hold out against the Four Heavenly Kings for so many years.

Chapter 37 VS Metal Seadramon

Unlike BlitzGreymon, WarGreymon, while possessing ranged attacks like Gaia Cannon, is more inclined towards close combat.

After evolving, its speed and strength were greatly enhanced. Combined with its humanoid body, unlike other Dragonmon-type Digimon, WarGreymon became even more agile.

Faced with MetalSeadramon's tail, WarGreymon nimbly dodged and then stabbed directly at MetalSeadramon's tail with its claw.

The Dragon Killer's power suppressed MetalSeadramon's abilities in all aspects. Even with MetalSeadramon channeling enough energy into its tail under WarGreymon's all-out attack, Dragon Killer managed to break through it completely. Two sharp claws pierced deep into the dragon's tail.

MetalSeadramon howled in pain again. It wasn't that he lacked patience; the Dragon Killer was effective against all types of Digimon. Having it inserted inside him like this was like subjecting MetalSeadramon to constant torture.

Just shouting like that a few times already shows that MetalSeadramon is quite strong.

MetalSeadramon endured the pain, channeling its energy to stop the spread of damage from Dragonmon Killer while vigorously waving its tail in an attempt to shake WarGreymon off.

He already felt his tail starting to go numb; if he dragged it out any longer, his tail would really be ruined.

For MetalSeadramon, which lacks limbs and possesses only a few pairs of short, fin-like organs, its tail is a crucial weapon. It doesn't want to lose its tail unless absolutely necessary.

MetalSeadramon has two tails, and WarGreymon cleverly chose the point where the two tails merge as its target, thus maximizing the damage to MetalSeadramon.

However, this gave MetalSeadramon an opportunity. It frantically slapped its two tails towards WarGreymon's position, not caring that it might knock itself down.

All he wanted to do now was get rid of this jinx as quickly as possible. Injuries could heal slowly, but losing his tail meant he wouldn't be reborn!

However, WarGreymon wasn't too bothered by MetalSeadramon's slaps. His body was also covered in ChronoDigizoid armor, making him impervious to ordinary attacks. Furthermore, the armor on his back was the "Shield of Courage," known as the "hardest shield," offering even greater defensive capabilities.

Moreover, MetalSeadramon was currently attacking while enduring excruciating pain, so its accuracy was questionable. Only three or four out of ten attacks would hit WarGreymon, which had little impact.

What MetalSeadramon found most unbearable was that WarGreymon didn't simply cling to him and leave DragonBeast Killer plugged in. He would also occasionally pull out a claw and poke upwards, climbing up like he was rock climbing.

In reality, if a certain area keeps hurting, you'll get used to it over time, and the pain won't be so intense. But if the pain keeps shifting to different areas, that feeling can be quite unpleasant.

MetalSeadramon is currently experiencing this unpleasant sensation and says it can't take it.

Having determined that it couldn't shake off WarGreymon this way, MetalSeadramon wasted no more time and directly opened its mouth and breathed a scorching flame at WarGreymon:

"Flame Jet!"

Against physical attacks like this, DragonBeast Killer's ability to weaken them is limited. Having already gained enough advantage, WarGreymon released its claws, forcefully stomped on MetalSeadramon, and used the momentum to avoid the flames.

MetalSeadramon glanced at its bleeding tail and the surrounding cratered wounds, its rage becoming uncontrollable. It roared, and a massive amount of energy rapidly gathered at the tip of its cannon-like nose, unleashing an energy blast at WarGreymon.

"Ultimate Wave Cannon!"

The boundless energy allowed MetalSeadramon to launch a rapid barrage of attacks, leaving WarGreymon no time to dodge. He simply abandoned the attempt to evade, raising his hands and gathering the energy from the atmosphere into them.

"Gaia Energy Cannon!"

The two energy cannons met midway and exploded with a bang.

In pursuit of speed, MetalSeadramon inevitably weakened the power of its attacks. However, even so, its attack power was still greater than WarGreymon's. The aftershocks of the explosion also clearly favored WarGreymon.
