He's in Marvel, working behind the scenes.

……

As Gu Qing tallied her gains, the aftermath of the maze was also unfolding.

Times Square in New York City is the city's economic center.

This place is bustling with people and vehicles every day, and is closely related to the lives of millions of people.

The area was razed to the ground, causing a huge uproar.

The reason given by the US government to the outside world was that "a battle between superhumans had taken place."

In fact, the US government also wanted to conceal the information.

But the damaged venue and the previous live stream made it impossible to hide the truth.

What's more, they also lost an Army Major General and Secretary of State.

This sparked public panic about superhumans.

When Accardo destroyed Romania... because of its remote location, small population, and relative backwardness, no one stood up to speak out.

I didn't feel much of anything.

It's like watching a news report on TV that "another war has broken out somewhere." Even though you know it's happening in the same world, because you're too far away to witness it firsthand, you can't truly empathize with it.

They felt that it was something from a different world than their own.

But Times Square in New York is different.

This is a bustling commercial street, the economic center of New York City, and is frequently featured on television stations from other countries.

This place is closely related to people's lives.

Those extraordinary beings who can raze this place to the ground can threaten their safety.

Faced with this situation, governments around the world have brought S.H.I.E.L.D. to the forefront.

Chapter 298 System Potential

In fact, S.H.I.E.L.D. has never stayed behind the scenes.

However, in previous years, supernatural events were rare and all occurred in places far from the public eye.

In addition, S.H.I.E.L.D. itself operates in a low-key manner.

As a result, many officials from various countries are unaware that such a global organization exists.

Now, S.H.I.E.L.D. has been thrust into the spotlight.

The panic among the people was immediately relieved.

After all, this is a professional organization that has been established since the end of World War II and has extensive experience in dealing with supernatural events.

In particular, the introduction of the Avengers, an extraordinary team targeting supervillains, has rekindled people's confidence and trust in public institutions.

But in reality, the real culprit behind this series of events, Gu Qing, is currently at large and has not borne any responsibility.

Loki, the murderer who destroyed Times Square and killed a U.S. Army major general, the Secretary of State, and thousands of U.S. soldiers, was taken back to Asgard by Thor to face trial.

The Dark Arts Cult, which killed thousands of American soldiers and S.H.I.E.L.D. agents in a daze, remains at large.

This series of events...

The United States and S.H.I.E.L.D. not only gained no benefit, but also suffered heavy losses.

Even the murderer could not be apprehended.

It can truly be said that they lost both their wife and their army.

But this has also led countries around the world to pay more attention to extraordinary individuals.

Even the world's superpower, the United States, has ended up in this predicament; if they were to encounter the same fate, it would likely be even worse.

Therefore, when Fury arrived at the Security Council headquarters, ready to be held accountable for the incident and to demand funding to rebuild and even expand S.H.I.E.L.D., the five members of the Security Council offered to increase funding for S.H.I.E.L.D.

This left Fury, who had prepared a great deal of statements and materials, completely taken aback, but he also happily accepted them.

S.H.I.E.L.D. definitely needs money right now.

Recruiting special agents, researching the Cosmic Cube, expanding staff, building space carriers, funding activities...

Everything costs money.

……

"Whoo~"

Looking at the golden ball of light in her hand, Eileen couldn't help but breathe a sigh of relief.

This is the power of life.

It looks ordinary and doesn't seem to have any power.

But it is precisely because of this that it appears terrifying.

Eileen is a high-ranking enchanter who can imbue anything with attributes, but no matter what she does, she cannot elicit the slightest reaction from this energy.

Just like the objects in a painting, no matter how outstanding they are, they cannot properly affect the person in front of the painting.

This is not even in the same dimension.

Holding onto this energy, Eileen cautiously approached Gu Qing's room and asked with a grave expression, "Lord Gu Qing, how should we deal with this?"

"Leave it to me."

Gu Qing's face was also very solemn.

The essence of life force is too strong; they at this level simply cannot comprehend it or use it, not even Escanor, who has become a single-universe god.

This is all-around power.

Gu Qing carefully received the life force and then tried to put it into the system space.

Upon seeing the success, he couldn't help but breathe a sigh of relief.

"It seems that the system is at least omnipotent."

The Marvel universe is vast and complex.

Gu Qing never thought that his system was anything special.

After all, when it comes to cheats...

What place can compare to Marvel?

Infinity Stones, Infinity Blade, Cosmic Cube, Controller, Heart of the Universe...

The power of the phoenix, the power of the fairy, the power of dreams...

From various artifacts to various powers, whether at the level of a single universe or the level of an omnipotent universe—as long as you get these things, they are all within your grasp.

Let's forget about the divine artifacts and power.

Those super-powerful characters in Marvel are even more inhuman.

A single dose of the Sentinel grants the power of a million stars; the Incredible Man can directly copy your power and abilities; and the Disciple amplifies your power tenfold upon copying...

There are plenty of similar cheaters out there.

Gu Qing has had this cheat system for over a year, and it's only at the A-level—although this is related to the fact that he mainly uses his resources to summon puppets and increase his prayer points.

Even if he uses most of his resources for upgrades, he still won't surpass S-rank.

Compared to those cheaters, this performance is utterly pathetic.

But now, the system space has safely contained the life force... This proves that its upper limit is at least omnipotent.

"Lord Gu Qing, what should we do next?"

"Wait."

Eileen's words brought Gu Qing back to her senses, and she replied with a single, concise word.

"wait?"

"Yes, we can just wait."

Gu Qing smiled slightly.

Waiting for Fury to deliver the Super Soldier Serum, waiting for Fury to inquire about the last Avenger, waiting for Pym to complete the Quantum Transmission, waiting for Thanos's army to arrive, waiting for Sithon to descend.

Gu Qing didn't have to wait long.

In the afternoon, Fury came to their door.

He handed over a small silver box and got straight to the point: "This is the super soldier serum you requested."

"I thought it wouldn't arrive for another two days!"

Gu Qing made a joke, took the box, and opened it directly in front of Fury. Inside was a transparent container filled with blue liquid.

"I dare not neglect your affairs."

Fury said meaningfully.

"Hehe, is there anything in this world that you wouldn't dare to do?" Gu Qing couldn't help but laugh, then took out the vessel and examined it.

Frey remained silent.

A moment later, he let out a deep sigh of relief.

He asked, "What was that thing you got in the maze?"

Gu Qing was stunned, her face filled with astonishment. "Would you tell me your secret without reservation?"

"OK, never mind!"

Fury waved his hand and continued, "The god you mentioned earlier, were you referring to Thor?"

"Yes."

"But he's a prince of Asgard, about to inherit the throne. How could he possibly be here as an Avenger?"

"Why can't the king be the avenger?"
