Yes…all our efforts haven't been in vain…From now on, as long as we keep moving forward, there will always be a path ahead. Thinking this, she called out to Yitiao and a few of her henchmen, and Bai Aina led them back to that familiar street. At that moment, the television in the electronics store was playing a woman's song, its soft yet poignant melody evoking images of stories ending in tragedy.

"Big sister, would you like to buy a flower?" A girl carrying a large bouquet of flowers came over and pitifully handed over the bouquet to Bai Aina, showing her the beautiful flowers.

"Hmm... I'll buy them all." Her previously indifferent expression softened as Bai Aina gently stroked the girl's head. These children were victims of the city's evils, though such things would no longer happen after this.

In the gentle twilight, the sound of screeching brakes rang out. A black luxury sedan, which had been rear-ended by a white low-end car, suddenly stopped at the corner of the intersection. The open car door faced Bai Aina, who was holding a bouquet of flowers from the girl's hands.

"!" Immediately sensing that something was wrong, Bai Aina's honed combat skills led her to make a surprising decision.

Without hesitation, she released the bouquet, turned around and hugged the girl, with her back to the suddenly appearing black luxury car.

"!" The sound of a bullet being chambered was clearly audible, and Yitiao heard it perfectly. Just as she was about to rush forward, a series of gunshots rang out.

The assassins in the black luxury car skillfully pointed their guns at Bai Aina, who was dressed in a brown suit. They had done similar things in similar places countless times, and this kind of assassination was second nature to them.

The bullets rained down on Baina, but she endured the pain and remained motionless. The girl in her arms was terrified, never expecting that selling flowers would lead to such a tense and exciting situation.

"Teacher! What are you doing! Teacher!" An angry voice rang out. She tried to rush out, but a hail of bullets blocked all her escape routes.

"Oh oh oh oh oh oh!" With an incomprehensible roar, Bai Aina took out a pistol from the inner pocket of her suit jacket. While protecting the girl, she turned around and fired several shots at the black luxury car, killing one of the assassins on the spot.

The assassin in the black luxury car seemed startled and immediately drove away. Meanwhile, Bai Aina had several bullet holes in her body, and the flowing blood splattered on the ground, forming a conspicuous red puddle.

"Ha...looks like my marksmanship is still pretty good..." Pressing back the blood that was about to spill from her mouth, Bai Aina gently pushed the girl in her arms away. After confirming that the girl hadn't gotten blood on her, she forced a smile. "It's okay...I can still...I can't stop yet...don't worry..."

“I am the leader of the Lone Wolf Gang, Baiana Acerolario, this little injury is nothing…” Struggling to her feet, Baiana staggered forward, her vision blurring from blood loss, the familiar streets becoming indistinct. “Protecting the citizens is my mission, everyone is waiting, and Jason… I finally understand, where we end up doesn’t matter, as long as we keep moving forward…”

With a thud, Baina's body fell to the ground.

As long as I keep moving forward, the road will appear ahead. I won't stop... As long as you don't stop, I'll be waiting for you ahead...

Crimson blood dripped down her steps, and as her body collapsed, Baina strained to extend her index finger, pointing forward. Drops of blood flowed forward along her finger.

So, don't stop here...

Chapter Seventy: The Level of One Finger

Roaring, agonizing, and sobbing, she couldn't change the fact that had already been set in motion. Wearing a brown suit, Baina lay in a pool of blood, finally able to rest after her inability to stop.

Before Baina's body was buried, various forces, both overt and covert, obtained her DNA through their own methods and compared it with her medical records at Arkham Asylum, thus confirming that the girl who wanted to change Gotham City... was dead.

But the One Colors' actions didn't slow down. Jason Todd, having shed his mask and reclaimed his identity, actively led the gang's transformation. With the help of Wayne Enterprises, the One Colors quickly transformed from a gang into a large corporation.

The original gang name has been abandoned; what exists now is a company called "Shinra." It has opened up numerous jobs to Gotham City residents, contracted repair work on the Gotham Bridge and other public infrastructure, and has expanded into assembly line production lines for beverages and electronic components…

The original gang members were assigned different jobs, and there were no dissenters, since dissent would result in flesh buds being planted or a gun being pointed at their heads.

While the jobs offered by Shinra Corporation are excellent and demanding, they come with good salaries and benefits. Although the income may not be as high as the days when they were living on the edge, the jobs are stable and safe.

Following this, Shinra Corporation partnered with Lextar Corporation, proposing a clean energy promotion and research project, and invited many prominent Gotham City families to attend. However, a dispute arose during discussions about whether to promote clean energy to the lower classes at a low price, turning what was initially a joyous dinner into a stalemate.

But at that moment, assassins disguised as waiters stormed into the venue, wielding firearms and mercilessly spraying bullets throughout. With the sound of spent shell casings falling to the ground, only Jason Todd and Lex Luthor remained standing in the hall.

The former was due to his exceptional combat skills; he immediately noticed something amiss when the waiter entered. As for the latter… it was purely because the Mother Box's automatic defensive field blocked the bullets for him.

During the subsequent investigation, Jason learned that the reason the Assassins had taken this action was because he had participated in the operation to wipe out the Assassins, and that this was why the remaining Assassins were now retaliating against him.

However, these are just minor details. In order to maintain Shinra's development and provide jobs, Jason had to devote all his energy to the company, and his original private life was completely put aside.

The other members of the Wayne family, still reeling from the events in Gotham after that battle, heard news of Beaune's death. Despite their hostility towards the newly formed Shinra Company, they refrained from taking any drastic actions.

Even though the Joker is dead and Batman is in a vegetative state, all things considered... it's a good ending for the city, isn't it?

"So what? Isn't this great? It makes your life more rhythmic and meaningful." As the culprit and the one who washed her hands of the matter, Bai Aina didn't see anything wrong with it, except that she noticed Jason's expression growing increasingly unfriendly. "You know what? You look like a rag right now. Relax, just think about it, you're working hard to save Gotham City."

"So? Is this your excuse for shirking all responsibility and then washing your hands of the matter?" Jason felt a vein throbbing in his forehead; he barely suppressed the urge to pull out his gun and riddle Bai Aina with bullets. She was the one who came to him offering to change Gotham City, yet she was also the one who did absolutely nothing!

At this thought, Jason felt he was about to lose his temper. Fortunately, Bai Na knew when to stop and changed the subject, saying, "By the way, how's the takeover of the property by the Owl Court going? There should be quite a bit."

The so-called revenge plot by the assassins of the Guild of Assassins was nothing more than a staged performance by Baiana and Jason. Only the members of the Court of Owls, representing a portion of the noble families who attended the banquet, were unaware of this…

However, a group of cunning individuals lay in ambush near the banquet hall, and were naturally wiped out by Deathstroke and Deadshot. It seems the Court of Owls had already planned to eliminate Jason at this banquet and regain control of the city.

After obtaining the bodies of these members, Baina implanted infectious granulation tissue into them, bringing these dead Court of Owls members back to life and ordering them to return underground to spread the granulation tissue to other Court of Owls members.

In the days that followed, Baina could sense numerous budding growths appearing underground. Then, the darkness hidden deep within the city was uprooted, leaving no chance for retaliation.

“Quite a few. If they join the company, with their connections, they should be able to establish themselves quickly,” Jason thought for a moment and then said. As the second person to have a flesh bud implanted, Bai Aina specially modified his flesh bud to allow him to command other people who had flesh buds implanted, although their priority was lower than Bai Aina's. “However, there are still many things to consider… Ugh, this is a real headache.”

Unable to suppress a smile, Bai Aina's joy was palpable. She had created a clone through physical splitting, and used it to fake her death and escape, allowing her to now drift along with peace of mind.

Although that kind of death was a bit despicable, watching everything you orchestrated... it was really damn interesting. The way the leader died was so unforgettable that you couldn't help but want to watch it again and again.

“By the way, I have something I want to ask you.” After a moment of silence, Jason looked at Bai Na and spoke seriously. “How much of what you said when you first met me… and what you said on the Gotham Bridge, was true?”

"Of course it's all of them, I'm not the kind of person who likes to lie."

"Stop lying. Nobody here will lie to you. How many people would believe what you're saying now?"

"Tsk, why take it so seriously?" Although her initial thoughts were purely for fun and cool, Bai Aina hoped that the city could undergo some changes, which would be good for everyone.

After carefully considering her words, Bai Aina, as if doubting herself, said with a hint of doubt, "If I had to say... it's about the size of a finger? If you include other components, it might be a little more."

"I'm truly impressed." Jason picked up his beer, took a big gulp, and left without looking back, saying, "Contact me again if anything comes up. I have to go back to the company to take care of some things."

"Goodbye." Watching that familiar figure walk away, disappearing little by little until it was completely gone, Bai Aina seemed a little reluctant and regretful as she said, "Thank you, but... I'm afraid we won't have the chance to meet again."

She took out an ordinary notebook and slowly opened it. On it were the names of many superheroes, and on the last page was the name of Jason Todd.

Everyone seems to really like the group leader who never stops talking, that's great!

Chapter Seventy-One: The Encounter to Come

Before she knew it, a month had come to an end... Only then did Bai Aina realize how much could be accomplished in a month. Unfortunately, the time was still too short, and there were many things she wanted to do that she couldn't.

What a pity… If I could have stayed for half a year, I could have done so much more. Thinking of this, Baina sighed. She gazed at the starry sky, thinking that she hadn't yet climbed the watchtower, nor gone to Oa to see what that wicked little blue man looked like, let alone seen if Darkseid had Nixon's face…

Thinking about it that way, I realized how incredibly foolish I'd been. Stopping her sighs, Bai Aina decided to relax; after all, in another half hour, the month would be over.

Thinking of this, Bai Aina stood up. Unlike her usual white tracksuit, she was now wearing a rare bright green floral dress. Although simple, it accentuated her delicate, feminine charm, and her casually cut shoulder-length gray hair gave her an inexplicable air of aloofness.

"Teacher... Great, so you're here." A familiar voice came from behind. When Bai Aina turned around, she saw Yi Tiao carrying a stack of books, looking somewhat dejected. "Sorry, I was just in class."

After listening to what Aina and Jason had been saying for a while, Ichijo found it completely incomprehensible. She was then sent to Gotham University, and only just now did she finish her final intensive course and arrive here.

"Hmm? Right now, it's just right." Knowing there was still half an hour left, Bai Aina smiled slightly, not seeming too concerned. She pointed to the table and chairs beside her and said, "How about it? Want to sit down and chat for a while longer?"

"Okay, I understand." Putting down the book in her hand, she didn't know if she could bring these books back to the source terminal, but she still couldn't bear to part with them.

If only she could bring these books back to Yamato, with these books and enough power, she would surely be able to make that country a better place.

Boina and Ichijo, sitting face to face, didn't speak for a moment, but they couldn't help but laugh as they looked at each other.

"Thank you for taking care of me all this time, teacher." At this moment, Ichijo had already had the fleshy bud removed by Bai Ai Na, and perhaps because of the residual effects, she still addressed the girl who looked not much older than her as teacher.

"It's nothing, just a small favor for me." Bai Aina was taken aback, not expecting her casual action to have such a significant effect. However, she didn't dwell on it, simply fading her smile and saying seriously, "However, after this... we may never have the chance to meet again."

Upon hearing this, Yitiao's expression turned sour. Her previously fluent words became stammered, and she said, blushing, "No...nothing like that...The Source Terminal is so omnipotent, there's no reason it can't find a way for us to reunite, right? Things aren't that absolute, are they?"

Hmm, now that you mention it, that makes sense. This lousy book in my hand is utterly useless; it's not impossible that it might even get captured by that thing called the Source Terminal. Thinking about this, Bai Aina felt incredibly sad. Why was the system assigned to her so weak… Oh well, she should be content and not be too demanding.

Having curbed her previous laziness, Bai Aina put aside her carefree attitude, and the words that came out of her mouth at this moment were sincere.

"Is that so? Then I look forward to seeing you again. By then, I hope to see a better you than you are now."

At first, she froze, then her expression brightened with joy. A genuine smile spread across Ichijo's face as she looked at Beina and nodded in promise, "Yes, I will! I definitely will! Teacher, I'll do even better!"

"Don't do that." Suddenly, Bai Aina's words carried a distinct chill. Though her expression remained blank, they conveyed an undeniable certainty. "I want you to become better, not for me, but for yourself... and for your goals. You must remember this clearly."

"Hmm... I am also very clear that from now on, my goal is not for my father, nor for my teacher, but only for the goal that I can achieve." Not discouraged by Bai Aina's words, Yi Tiao now revealed a faint gentleness, looking completely different from before.

"..." The words she had prepared were completely blocked. Bai Aina was thinking of giving her a good lecture, but unexpectedly, someone actually followed her words.

Bai Aina, who was already somewhat dazed, was now at a loss for words. After a long while, she finally said, "Well, that's good."

"Goodbye then, teacher!" Without remaining seated, Ichijo stood up, picked up his books, and said with a smile, "I won't bother you any longer. I'll contact you again if I have the chance in the future."

After she finished speaking, Yitiao's figure turned into specks of light and slowly dissipated in the air, because she arrived a little earlier than Baina.

"This girl is so naive, I hope she won't suffer later..." Bai Aina gave a wry smile, then felt like she was overthinking things. She stood up, put on the white mask she used to wear, and walked through the alleys of Gotham City.

It was past midnight, and perhaps because of the improved security, the streets were filled with small groups of people, presenting a scene quite different from before. Feeling out of place among them, Bai Aina walked along the moonlit avenue, took out her phone, pressed send, and sent a pre-edited text message to Jason.

It's just a simple explanation; given Jason's personality, he's unlikely to clash with Wayne Enterprises in his future actions. Simply proceeding with the changes step by step will naturally make the city better.

Of course, anything can happen, and what Baina was thinking was just an ideal scenario. Perhaps something bad might happen afterward... but by then she wouldn't be here anymore, and it would be up to them to decide.

But with that invincible blue giant in the sky, things can't be too bad, right...?

"Don't let me down, Ertong." With nothing left to do but entrust everything to Jason, Bai'ina also turned into specks of light and vanished on the road with no turning back.

And so, abandoning her identity and the wealth she now possessed, the girl who had once been a comedian left the city.

Jason was initially surprised when he saw the text message, thinking it was some kind of trick by Baina. However, after he had people investigate thoroughly but still couldn't get any results, he finally believed that what the text message said was true.

"In the end, she still left everything to me alone... I really don't know what she's thinking."

Epilogue (Part 1): Breaking the Star

Today's defeat has ruined my life; ten years have passed and we are separated by life and death.

Ten years have passed since the Comedian of Gotham City defeated Batman, and time always washes away all traces. However, the scene of Baiana's death in the street was so deeply ingrained in people's minds that the unending refrain became a new kind of popular culture that has not faded even now. Instead, it has become a new source of infection, constantly affecting other unrelated works. This incomprehensible phenomenon is simply baffling to everyone.

Batman, ever since being defeated by Beaune, has been in a vegetative state, never regaining consciousness. Nightwing and the others are finding this extremely difficult to resolve, but have been unable to find a solution and have had to put the matter aside.

And so it went, day after day, year after year. Instead of becoming weaker, Batman, who spent his days lying in his hospital bed, became even stronger, his cellular activity unlike that of a person in a vegetative state, unable to move and confined to bed.

"I can sense an incredibly strong aura of destiny in that city... The so-called chosen ones or protagonists are probably nothing more than this." The blond man with pointed ears chuckled. As one of the first conquerors of this world by the Samsara Palace, he felt he had gained an enormous advantage. This pristine world, unexplored by conquerors, was simply a treasure trove with no end in sight.

The high elf named Lazel hailed from a Western fantasy world, the main hub of the Temple of Reincarnation. This world had become a fusion of cultures and technologies from multiple worlds, completely different from its original form. The reason for this was hardly something to be proud of, but by constantly selecting reincarnators to invade and expand into other worlds, drawing them into their own territory, they were strengthening their swarm of locusts.

Just now, Lazar had observed through the Emperor's Aura Observation Technique in "The Vast Ocean" that Gotham City was one of the world's top dragon veins, a rare and auspicious place. However, he was quite disappointed that the original Yin energy had been damaged for some reason.

“It’s alright. That person with great fortune is currently a hidden dragon in the abyss. It’s a good opportunity to seize his fortune.” After making up his mind, Lazel jumped off the high-rise building. He noticed that the level of development of this city was no less than some of the high-tech worlds he had visited.

Ten years is enough time for Jason to make many changes. He acquired nanomechanical technology from Luther, a black box product originating from the Mother Box that had already been deciphered by one of the most intelligent people on Earth, the bald man. For just one hundred dollars, anyone could obtain this life-changing drug that could eliminate all genetic diseases.

Cancer and AIDS are now history. Diabetes, blindness, and every genetic disease have been eradicated, all thanks to someone who has cracked the code of nanomechanics.

Admittedly, the Justice League will not interfere with human development. But Lex Luthor might. In order to find a way to defeat Superman, the existing resources are no longer enough. Only by finding a way to expand outwards efficiently might they find a better method.

Walking down the bright street, a group of young people in brown suits were taking pictures at a street corner. As a monk, Lazel's five senses were beyond ordinary people. He could hear their conversation, and it seemed that they were recreating the scene of someone's death.
