However, the mirror image originated from Mount Shu and possessed a thorough understanding of the Celestial Master's talisman techniques. Since the two were locked in a life-or-death struggle, it naturally wouldn't take the risk. It hastily withdrew its hand, and countless sword beams grazed Lin Yaoxie's body, transforming into long rainbows and disappearing from Lin Yaoxie's sight.

Lin Yaoxie exclaimed in admiration, "This damned thing does know how to be powerful."

Mirror Image remained silent, but after a hundred strikes, he unleashed the move "Dragon Ascends to Prominence." This was the last move Lin Yaoxie had not yet used when he defeated Elder Heyang. Heyang was beheaded on the day this move was used. However, unexpectedly, although Lin Yaoxie did not use this move on the day he defeated Elder Heyang, Elder Heyang had still been able to foresee it.

The mirror image suddenly accelerated, and Lin Yaoxie had no choice but to use the "Tiger's Roar and Dragon's Cry" move with his Yilong Sword to protect his entire body, switching from offense to defense in order to fight the mirror image head-on.

The mirror image was not afraid at all. After several moves, the mirror image was still powerful and fierce, but Lin Yaoxie's hands went numb. Lin Yaoxie knew that he would be defeated if this continued. He immediately used the move "Divine Dragon Loses Power" to deeply insert the Yilong Sword into the ground and rolled to the side.

In the past, whenever Lin Yaoxie used this move, the opponent's weapon would inevitably clash head-on with the Yilong Sword. The Yilong Sword was sharp and used stillness to control movement, gaining the upper hand. At that time, the opponent's weapon could be broken no matter what it was.

However, the weapon in the mirror image was the Hundred Refinements Forged by Elder Cang Gu using three dragon crystals. The weapon it simulated was Lin Yaoxie's Dragon-Reliant Sword. The two weapons were of the same material, and the mirror image was also a simulation of Lin Yaoxie, which caused its divine power to be abnormal.

Seeing the mirror image attacking from the opposite side, Lin Yaoxie steeled his heart, recalling the scenario in the environment where abandoning the White Tiger image was necessary to escape, and thought to himself:

You have to give up something to gain something.

With the move "Dragon in Water," Lin Yaoxie transformed into a long dragon and attacked the mirror image. This move was something Lin Yaoxie had just learned three days ago while playing chess with Elder Jingming. Little did he know that Elder Jingming had incorporated the Shu Mountain Immortal Technique—Heavenly Gang Battle Qi—into the game that day. Although this move had no offensive capabilities, it would double the power of the user.

Lin Yaoxie's use of this move was no different from reading the Analects in front of Confucius or showing off one's axe in front of Lu Ban. Although the mirror image was Lin Yaoxie's swordsmanship and skills on the surface, its core was the kung fu of Mount Shu.

Sure enough, just as Lin Yaoxie increased his power with the move "Dragon Gains Water", the mirror image also increased its power at the same time without any warning.

Both sides poured twice their own power into their weapons. The Yilong Sword, planted in the ground, seemed to emit a provocative dragon roar, like a dragon emitting a taunting sound.

The Hundred Refinements attack from the air like a fierce tiger, and faintly seems to emit a defiant roar.

Lin Yaoxie and his own reflection were like warriors standing on a cliff, with no way to retreat and no room to dodge.

Finally, the two swords, Yilong Bailian, clashed, and with a loud "bang," both blades broke in two.

Fortunately, Lin Yaoxie's Yilong Sword was stuck in the ground, using stillness to control movement and dissipating some of the force. After Lin Yaoxie took three steps back with the broken sword in his hand, bright red blood seeped from the corner of his mouth.

The previous mirror image fared even worse. Being in mid-air, it was struck by the immense force of the clash of the two swords and sent hurtling onto the roof of the Wuji Pavilion. Fortunately, the Wuji Pavilion had magical protection, so the mirror image was hit by four times the force of its own before finally falling to the ground. Its magic was exhausted, and it turned into a straw doll, shattered into pieces.

Lin Yaoxie wiped the blood from the corner of his mouth and staggered out of Wuji Pavilion.

Outside Wuji Pavilion, the five elders of Shushan had been waiting for a long time.

"I won. See you all at the Moon-Viewing Terrace on Mount Shu on Mid-Autumn Festival night."

Lin Yaoxie's face was pale, and he spoke weakly.

Longkui and Xuejian rushed over to heal Lin Yaoxie, but for some reason, it had little effect.

Qingwei's complexion was not much better than Lin Yaoxie's at this moment. It was clear that the mirror image inside required Qingwei's magic support. Now that the mirror image was broken, Sect Leader Qingwei also suffered a backlash.

With the support of He Yang and You Xuan, Qingwei managed to say:

"The Moon-Viewing Terrace of Mount Shu welcomes Young Hero Lin for the Mid-Autumn Festival martial arts competition. However..."

A cold glint flashed in the eyes of the Qingwei Sect Leader:

"However, we'll have to wait until Young Hero Lin visits the Demon-Locking Tower."

Xuejian realized the situation was a bit off, so she stood in front of Lin Yaoxie and gently stroked Lian Xiuxiu with her hand, saying:

“You all combined are over a thousand years old, yet you break your word and are not ashamed.”

He Yang, still with a kind and smiling expression, said to Xue Jian:

“Miss Tang has misunderstood. We previously agreed with Young Hero Lin that as long as he can pass the test of the five elders of Mount Shu, he can use the Moon Gazing Platform on the Mid-Autumn Festival night, and the disciples of Mount Shu will not stop him.”

Cang Gu also added:

"Now that Young Hero Lin has won, our Shushan sect guarantees that on the night of the Mid-Autumn Festival, no matter if it is a god, ghost, or demon, as long as they come to the Shushan Moon-Gazing Platform, Shushan will not stop them. But what we want to do now is to invite Young Hero Lin to visit our Shushan Demon-Locking Tower."

Longkui, upon hearing that everyone was invited to the Demon-Sealing Tower, dismissed the idea, saying:

"Go ahead, it's not like we've never been before."

Youxuan lightly waved his right hand and let out a cold snort:

"Ignorant fool, the real Demon-Sealing Tower is here."

Lin Yaoxie barely opened his eyes and looked out. Opposite Wuji Pavilion, a towering tower that seemed to reach the clouds appeared before him.

"This..." Lin Yaoxie couldn't help but be surprised.

Where exactly is the Demon-Sealing Tower that Longkui and the others went to?

It turns out that what Xuejian, Zixuan, and the others saw before wasn't the real Demon-Sealing Tower, but rather a place of eternal imprisonment—the Glazed Illusion—created jointly by Youxuan and Elder Jingming.

Those that were not monsters or not particularly heinous demons were first placed in the Glazed Illusionary Realm. Only after discussions among the elders of Mount Shu did they decide whether to actually place the monsters inside in the Demon-Locking Tower.

Chapter Eighty-One: The Hypocritical Demon

The Glazed Illusionary Realm allowed for entry and exit, which is why Zi Xuan and the others could move freely within the Demon Locking Tower at that time. However, the Glazed Illusionary Realm was broken by Lin Yaoxie four days ago, and now Shushan can only place the demon directly into the real Demon Locking Tower in front of them.

The Demon-Locking Tower before us is no ordinary object. It was a sacred place for imprisoning demons, built by gathering Taoist priests from all over the world during the reign of Emperor Wu of Liang. Any demon that enters the Demon-Locking Tower never comes out.

Lin Yaoxie chuckled:

"The elder must be mistaken. I am a human, not a monster."

Elder Youxuan rebuked:

"Although it is not a demon, it is more terrifying than a demon."

It turns out that the first illusion Lin Yaoxie experienced was Xiaoru's judgment of Lin Yaoxie.

Although Lin Yaoxie had his own considerations in the Xiaoru incident, he ultimately revealed his true nature as a demon.

The first thing is that, as Xuejian said at the time, Xiaoru was forced to massacre the village, but after all, he was an adult and had his own sense of right and wrong. No so-called order can be an excuse for war criminals to escape their responsibilities, but Lin Yaoxie let him go.

Secondly, although Xiaoru was terminally ill and wanted to commit suicide, Lin Yaoxie had no right to interfere with the life and death of others, yet Lin Yaoxie killed Xiaoru.

As for the third matter, although Xiaoru did nothing wrong and followed the so-called rules, Lin Yaoxie sacrificed the lives of most people to protect a so-called unrealistic rule.

These three things were originally a yardstick used by Shushan to judge the good and evil in the hearts of the characters in the Glazed Illusion. If a character's heart hides evil, he will naturally make the corresponding choice, while true evil is often disguised as hypocrisy.

Lin Yaoxie is a true demon, and his actions are often disguised as benevolence. Therefore, when he emerged from the Shushan Glazed Illusion, Shushan had already decided to show no mercy.

Of course, if these are not enough to put Lin Yaoxie into the Demon Locking Tower, then the fact that he released the Evil Sword Immortal and killed Qingwei's Shushan substitute when he came to the world of Legend of Sword and Fairy is enough to show that he is a threat to Shushan.

At this moment, Lin Yaoxie's Dragon-Slaying Sword was broken, and he couldn't muster any strength at all. Not to mention fighting against the elders of Shu Mountain, even an ordinary disciple of the Thunderbolt Hall could easily defeat him now.

Lin Yaoxie was both anxious and angry. He even regretted obeying the ridiculous Shushan test. He wished he had just joined forces with Chonglou and the other to flatten Shushan, and then the two of them could have a duel here.

Unfortunately, there's no going back in life. In a fit of rage, Lin Yaoxie's vision went black, and he knew nothing more.

When Lin Yaoxie woke up, he found himself in an unfamiliar environment. Long Kui was guarding him, and the two little demons, Qianzhong Buzui and Wanhu Budao, were discussing how to make it more reasonable to soak the unconscious human in wine, and how they could escape from the Demon Locking Tower after eating the human.

Lin Yaoxie looked around, but couldn't find Xuejian. He couldn't help but ask Longkui:

"Where's Xuejian?"

Longkui gently shook her head, indicating that she didn't know why she had come here.

Lin Yaoxie knew that Hong Kui must have fought fiercely with the elders of Shushan to protect her, which was why she didn't know what had happened.

Lin Yaoxie leaned weakly against the wall, his tentacles touching it, only to find that the wall was neither stone nor metal, and he didn't know what it was made of. He couldn't help but be moved and said:

"This wall... must be very valuable."

Two little demons in the distance chuckled upon hearing Lin Yaoxie's words:

"What use is money here? Food is the most important thing."

Lin Yaoxie looked in that direction and saw two flying wine jars, one green and one red.

In ancient times, people would bury wine jars underground when brewing wine. However, some wines would be forgotten by everyone because of the unexpected death of their owners. If the wine jar happened to be buried in a place where the sun and moon converged, the wine jar would gather the essence of heaven and earth, and after thousands of years, it would also cultivate into a demon, which is what is recorded in the Demon Subduing Manual as "a thousand cups without getting drunk" and "ten thousand cups without falling over".

Lin Yaoxie, knowing that the two demons before him were of weak abilities and posed no threat to him, asked in surprise:

"Shushan didn't actually put me at the very bottom."

Just as Lin Yaoxie finished speaking, Lan Kui suddenly changed color, and Hong Kui appeared before Lin Yaoxie:

"How could you say something like that?"

It turned out that after Lin Yaoxie fainted that day, Long Kui and Xue Jian were no match for the elders of Shu Mountain. Xue Jian was injured by Jingming. Seeing that they were no match for the elders of Shu Mountain, Hong Kui made up her mind and simply led Lin Yaoxie into the Demon Locking Tower.

Qingwei and the others chased after the Demon-Sealing Tower. Although they were determined to pursue, the elders still vividly remembered the tragedy that occurred at the Demon-Sealing Tower a hundred years ago and the previous sect leader's teachings.

Therefore, seeing that Longkui and Lin Yaoxie had already entered the Demon Locking Tower, they retreated to discuss the matter further.

After Lin Yaoxie woke up, he had no idea how much time had passed. He asked Long Kui:

"How long was I unconscious?"

Hongkui chuckled:

"I'm not sure either, but these two guys have brought you food three times already."

Hongkui pointed to the two little demons, Qianbei Buzui and Wanzhong Budao, not far away.

Lin Yaoxie said with relief:

"It's only been one day. I thought I had been unconscious for a long time."

Hearing Lin Yaoxie's words, Qianbei Buzui, who was in the distance, couldn't help but laugh and say:

"You think it's the same here as outside, where you can eat three meals a day? Dream on."

Even Wan Zhong Bu Dao echoed:

"Dream on, dream on. Being able to eat only once every two days is only possible because we brothers are so capable."

He had been eating once every two days, and this happened three times. Lin Yaoxie did the math in his head and never expected that he would be unconscious for six days.

Longkui chuckled:

Brother Lin, guess what you said while you were unconscious?

Lin Yaoxie thought to himself, "This is bad (because of the money). Could it be that I called someone's name while I was unconscious?" Lin Yaoxie pleaded, "..."

"I can't help it, I dreamt of so many beautiful women, I'm almost too busy to keep up."

Hongkui floated in the air with her feet off the ground, looking like she was watching a show.

"You're not even ashamed to talk like that. It seems like you didn't see anything except money when you were unconscious."

Even the woman who could drink a thousand cups without getting drunk echoed Longkui's words:

"That's right, that's right. You kept holding that little girl in the blue dress's hand and saying, 'I'll give you money, don't go.'"
