Abis, however, was not shy at all and nodded, saying, "Thank you for your blessing. We'll prepare to check in now."

The boss then turned his head and saw Sofia holding Leona beside him.

"Oh, I wish you two a long and happy marriage." He bowed obsequiously.

"Huh? What?" Sofia forgot to put Leona down, holding her in her arms like a doll, blinking her eyes, still not understanding.

Leona struggled in Sofia's arms, shouting, "We're not lesbians! I'm straight! Straight!"

Chapter 363 Shira Still Needs to Rest

"Miss, come and take a look! The oranges I sell here are very cheap," a fruit vendor enthusiastically greeted Rebecca and her three companions as they passed by.

Leona turned around first: "Can I buy it without looking at it?"

"Huh?" The vendor paused for a moment, scratched his head, and said, "Of course you can."

"Besides oranges, can I buy anything else?"

"Uh... I have some apples here if you want."

Do you have any expensive oranges?

"Well... if you think it's too cheap, I can raise the price for you temporarily."

The vendor looked at Leona, who had asked such a strange question, bewildered, thinking to himself, "What an adorable little maid, it's a pity she's not mentally sound."

"Pick a bag for me." Leona casually took out a few copper coins and placed them on the vendor's cart. "It's alright, it's alright, you don't need to be nervous. I was just testing you."

Now, Abis and Flora had settled their carriage and luggage and were strolling through the streets after leaving the inn.

This was Flora's first time shopping aimlessly like this. She had heard that this was an activity that girls in big cities liked: wandering around the streets, buying whatever they liked, and ideally, haggling with the shopkeeper for a while before buying it.

The two of them had been strolling around the streets for half an hour. Flora hadn't bought anything; her eyes were mostly on cheap trinkets, but she would eventually give up on them because she didn't really need them. She was simply enjoying the experience of shopping with Abyss.

Meanwhile, Rebecca and her three companions stayed close to Abyss and Flora, keeping watch on anything that might be a puppet of the evil god, to prevent it from interfering with Flora's wish.

After what happened at the small hotel, the girls now see everyone as puppets of an evil god, and thus constantly test the vendors around them, making several vendors think that someone is coming to cause trouble.

"Can you guarantee your roast chicken is cooked through?"

"I sell roast chicken, would I sell you a half-cooked chicken?"

"I'm asking you, is this roast chicken guaranteed to be cooked through?"

"Are you deliberately trying to cause trouble? Do you want to or not?"

Similar conversations have happened many times in this area.

This kind of nitpicking dialogue is used to test whether the people around have any obsessions. If any merchant reacts after hearing a negative word, it will be good to find out the evil god puppet as soon as possible.

"Phew, this is so hard to find. Why are there so many normal people in this town?" Leona complained, wiping non-existent sweat from her forehead.

“Isn’t it normal for most people to be normal?” Rebecca tilted her head.

“Oh, right.” Leona slapped her forehead. “I’d forgotten that most people in our world are ordinary people.”

"Could the evil god's puppet really be hiding in this town?" Sophia asked doubtfully, as she helped carry the food Leona had just bought. "What if the evil god's puppet isn't even in town? Besides, this town has tens of thousands of people; is it pointless for us to keep asking like this?"

"That is indeed a clumsy method."

Rebecca nodded helplessly and admitted, "But we don't have any good ideas right now. Agnes has already released the insects she used to monitor this place, and no one in town has been found to be making any strange moves. Since the evil god puppet can hide itself so well, we can only try to touch its obsession."

“So try to stay in the vicinity of ABC and Flora as much as possible,” Leona said, shrugging. “If we can check out all the vendors here before they wander over, we can reduce the chances of them running into the evil god puppet.”

The girls were so eager to probe the vendor that Abyss and Flora were about to encounter because the probability of running into the evil god's puppet in this town was really high.

The Lord of Delusion possesses the ability to deduce, so if He could deduce the small inn the Abyss's party passed by, He could naturally deduce the Abyss's destination as well. The four girls simply refused to believe that nothing would happen before the Abyss fulfilled Flora's wish.

Where are the evil god puppets hiding? How many are there? The girls had no idea about any of these questions.

The current situation is indeed quite a headache.

“Is there a more efficient way to detect the evil god puppet?” Sophia asked again. “There are too many people in this town, and we might not be able to keep up with them all, but we can’t keep up with Flora all the time.”

“Then we can only wait for Sheila to recover,” Rebecca said. “She’s awake now, but her mental state isn’t perfect, and she needs some rest. We can’t push her too hard; it will hurt her.”

Sheila has now awakened and is recuperating under the care of special personnel in the City of Eternal Night. When she saw the true face of the Lord of Delusion, she suffered a great shock. If it weren't for the protection of Rebecca and Agnes, she would probably have gone mad by now.

Therefore, even though Sheila has woken up and offered to help when Rebecca visited her last time, Rebecca still refused. Sheila's mind has just been traumatized and she hasn't fully recovered; forcing her to use her abilities now could cause even greater harm.

So, when Rebecca went back to Helheim to see Sheila this morning, she told Sheila to rest for ten days and try to relax. Given the flow of time in Helheim, if they wanted Sheila to come out and help, they would have to wait until at least tomorrow.

"How about we continue? It's a bit clumsy, but it's better than doing nothing," Leona shrugged. "We can't just let the evil god's puppet cause trouble."

“Indeed, let’s continue shopping then. We can also buy some good food.” Sophia thought for a moment and nodded.

"Oh dear, those two are coming! Let's hurry and keep going, before we run into them!" Leona suddenly turned around and saw Abyss and Flora walking towards them, chatting and laughing. They would be meeting them soon.

She quickly grabbed Sophia's arm and pulled her forward.

"Huh? What's wrong?" Sofia was confused as Leona pulled her along. "Don't we need to be so careful? Didn't we come out together?"

“That’s not why she’s doing this,” Rebecca said with a smile, leading Agnes, who was eating candy, forward. “If you observe carefully, you’ll understand why Leona is avoiding Abyss and Flora.”

Sofia turned around and saw that Abyss had just bought a small sunflower, about half the size of her palm, from a flower vendor and was putting it in Flora's hair.

Flora's golden hair and the golden sunflowers complemented each other beautifully, and a warm smile graced her face.

"Get out of here!" Sofia turned and ran without hesitation.

Even though Flora is going to be a wife, I'm still so jealous!

Chapter 364 Abyss's Little Mission

Flora is very curious now.

She had been curious ever since Abyss told her he had a surprise for her.

Flora isn't usually a gossipy person, but when it comes to things related to the Abyss, she can't suppress her curiosity.

So, while strolling around with the Abyss today, Flora not only enjoyed the leisurely time she spent with the Abyss, but also made sure to occasionally probe to see if she could get any information out of him.

“This looks delicious.” Abis had just bought a local snack from a vendor in front of him—some kind of fried mushroom—and was eating it himself when he handed it to Flora. “Have a taste.”

"I've already eaten a lot today, I'll gain weight if I keep eating like this." Flora shook her head. Although she had a good appetite because she was in a good mood, she was still a little worried about eating too much in order to maintain her figure.

When she was an undead, she didn't have to be so afraid; she could eat whatever she wanted without gaining weight because her body wouldn't absorb food. But things are different now. These past few days, Flora has felt that her face is a little rounder than before when she looks in the mirror. Although everyone else says there's no change, she's still very nervous.

"Being a little chubby is fine, as long as you're healthy." Abis tilted his head. "I'll love you whether you're fat or thin."

Flora blushed: "Really? You're not lying to me?"

"Why would I lie to you?" Abis chuckled as he fed Flora a mushroom. "It's getting cold, eat more."

"Why are you acting like an old woman?" Flora chuckled.

“Mom…” Abis immediately put on a different face, “Oh, look at you, you’ve gotten so thin, it breaks my heart to see you like this. People outside will say I’m not feeding you properly. Hurry up and finish all of this, these are mushrooms, they’re very good for your health!”

"Pfft..." Flora laughed so hard she bent over.

She was taken to the Vatican at a young age and lived without her mother. She actually longed to be cared for and nagged like this by someone. After all, back in the Vatican, few people would say so much out of concern for her.

“Let’s keep going. I saw some really pretty flower brooches for sale over there. They must be a local specialty. I’ll buy you one.” Abis took Flora’s hand again and led her forward.

As Flora walked with Abyss through the town's main shopping street, she asked, "Abyss... you're planning to buy me so many things, what kind of surprise are you going to give me? Isn't a surprise a small gift?"

"Oh? You're asking about that?" Abyss chuckled. "I certainly can't tell you in advance, but I'll reveal the truth about this surprise before your vacation ends."

“But I… am a little curious,” Flora said softly to Abyss, almost coquettishly.

“Then I’ll give you a little bit of information—oh, how about we play a game?” Abyss grinned mischievously. “Flora, during our few days of vacation in this town, I’ll give you some small tasks. If you complete them, I’ll give you a little surprise information. Once you’ve completed all the tasks, I’ll give you the surprise. How about it?”

"Do... a quest?" Flora asked, somewhat puzzled. "Sure... but what kind of quest is it?"

"For example, our shopping mission today... Flora, can you buy me some clothes? Not anything high-end, just something for ordinary people, but it has to suit me... and the price can't exceed... two Imperial Coins."

Two Imperial Coins weren't a large sum, especially in this economically developed town. Two Imperial Coins wouldn't even be enough to feed two people at a restaurant. In a clothing store, two Imperial Coins wouldn't even buy a slightly durable long-sleeved jacket.

Buying an outfit with two Imperial coins that fits the Abyss is quite a challenge.

Flora wasn't good at bargaining or picking out clothes for boys, but hearing Abyss's words, she became determined: "Fine! I'll buy you an outfit for two Imperial Coins!"

Abyss laughed. He wasn't very knowledgeable about the market, but he knew that trying to buy an outfit with two Imperial coins was wishful thinking.

Just traveling around might not be very interesting; life needs some excitement and challenge. Giving Flora some challenging tasks can make her holidays more colorful.

After Abyss bought Flora a beautiful brooch, Flora inquired briefly and then led Abyss toward a local clothing store.

"Oh my, beautiful lady and handsome gentleman, are you here to buy clothes?" The shop owner was overjoyed to see the well-dressed Abyss and Flora walking towards his shop; he was about to make a fortune.

He quickly came out to greet them, welcoming Abyss and Flora into the shop.

“Hello…we’d like to buy some inexpensive clothes today,” Flora said softly.

"Cheap clothes?" The shopkeeper was taken aback. "Oh, of course. Is it you or the gentleman who wants to buy? It looks like the gentleman wants to buy. What do you think of this coat? It's made of high-quality materials, comfortable, and durable. It's only twenty Imperial Coins, for one day only. Tomorrow it will go back to the original price of thirty Imperial Coins."

“Is there anything cheaper?” Flora asked. “I don’t have much pocket money left.”

The shopkeeper was somewhat surprised that two people dressed so beautifully couldn't come up with twenty Imperial Coins, but he was also an experienced merchant. He noticed the various things Abyss was carrying and the shiny new jewelry Flora was wearing, and realized that the two people probably really didn't have much money.

We can't afford to offend these two distinguished guests; they might just come back with a fortune sometime soon.

The boss grew up reading chivalric romance novels, and in those novels, none of the shopkeepers who looked down on others had a good ending. He wasn't stupid.

"How much do you need? Coincidentally, our clothing store offers clothing at all price points, serving the entire town." The owner immediately said solemnly, "We have everything from the best to the worst."

“Well… I want fabric, dark-colored and comfortable. Under two Imperial Coins,” Flora suddenly said.

The shopkeeper was quite surprised to see such a well-dressed couple buying fabric.

"Yes, I do have some, I can sell them to you... but..."

"Could I borrow your sewing room again?" Flora looked at the shopkeeper expectantly. "I won't mess it up!"

Abyss's smile grew even wider; it seemed Flora was planning to show off her sewing skills.
