Chapter Sixty-Four: Choice

"Uchiha Sora made good use of his strengths in combat and amplified his opponent's weaknesses. I originally thought it would be a tough battle. Kakashi, you have trained a good ninja."

Ibiki studied every ninja in the Chunin Exams. While the Sound Ninja's overall strength wasn't the strongest, their attack methods were unpredictable and often caught opponents off guard.

Kakashi hadn't expected the laid-back Uchiha Ku to grow so quickly, but Ku's personality was giving Kakashi a real headache.

The screen scrolled rapidly, with names flashing across it.

The scene freezes on Neji Hyuga versus Hinata Hyuga.

[A fateful showdown. The grudges and affections between the Hyuga main family and the branch family can perhaps be glimpsed in this battle. Is the caged bird truly a constraint or a protection, or is it merely enslavement under the guise of protection?]

Hinata felt a pang of sadness. Her childhood brother Neji was now a stranger. Although she was the eldest daughter of the main branch of the family, she could neither change nor do anything about it.

Neji has always had a hurdle in his heart: his father was used as a substitute for the clan leader because they were twins, and committed suicide, which caused Neji to completely close himself off.

Neji remained calm, as if he weren't talking about himself, and faced Hinata directly.

"Hinata-san, fighting me will only hurt you. You should just give up."

Hinata shook her head firmly, formed hand seals, activated her Byakugan, and the veins around her eyes bulged.

Neji secretly shook his head. He knew Hinata's strength; fighting her would only result in injury. The gap between them was inevitable and couldn't be bridged by momentary determination. Fine, let Hinata see the difference between them.

"What is a caged bird?" Naruto asked in a low voice.

Kong shook his head and said, "There's no need to explain. You'll know when the time comes. This kind of family system leaves you speechless."

Uchiha Sora didn't know how to evaluate the Hyuga clan. Perhaps death was the only chance for the branch family to make their own choices, and also their chance to experience freedom.

The Third Hokage seemed lost in thought. Was it for the sake of freedom, or perhaps also the younger brother's love for his older brother?

Neji's calm mind was starting to falter; a crack appeared in his mind, which had been imprisoned for years. Perhaps death really was a good choice.

"Neji-nii-nii."

Neji snapped out of his daze, cleared his mind of all distractions, and assumed the Gentle Fist stance.

"start."

Hinata took the lead, her hand reaching out like a serpent, aiming straight for the pressure point on Neji's chest.

"Snapped."

The sound of arms colliding rang out as the two fought back and forth, their chakra dissipating upon impact.

"Hinata has the upper hand now," Kiba said.

The Konoha 11 nodded in agreement, seemingly surprised that the usually gentle Hinata also possessed such a strong side.

"It's not that simple," Lee said. "Neji is the top student in our year, and I even think he's the strongest among all the Konoha candidates who took the Chunin Exams this year."

Lee made a cognitive error, Neji wasn't taking it seriously enough, but there were too many unexpected events in this Chunin Exams.

Might Guy was somewhat surprised. He knew his two disciples' strength well, but he forgot that appearances can be deceiving.

Just like Might Guy's father, who could have imagined that an ordinary genin from Konoha would reduce the Seven Ninja Swordsmen of the Mist to a mere three, leaving an indelible shadow in the hearts of the remaining three?

"Whoosh." All eyes were fixed on Might Guy, some in surprise, some in disbelief.

The Third Hokage nodded and said, "Dai is indeed an excellent Konoha ninja."

Naruto said, "Ku, the Zabuza we encountered before was one of the Seven Ninja Swordsmen of the Mist, right? I'd love to hear Kakashi-sensei address him that way."

"That's right. The Seven Ninja Swordsmen are seven outstanding Jonin selected by Kirigakure and equipped with special swords. Each of them is an elite member of Kirigakure."

"I never imagined that the father of the teacher with thick eyebrows was so amazing."

"Kai-sensei is also very powerful. I heard he's Kakashi-sensei's eternal rival, and slightly better than Kakashi-sensei," said Sora.

Sasuke stared at Might Guy, surprised that such a seemingly unreliable ninja possessed such strength. Was the world changing too fast?

"Haha, Kakashi, even your student knows we are eternal rivals. I currently have a record of fifty wins and forty-nine losses. When is the next match?"

"Huh? What are you talking about?"

"As expected of my eternal rival Kakashi, even so, he still manages to look very stylish. But that's what youth is all about."

During the match, Hinata's forehead was already beaded with sweat, but Neji remained calm and composed.

Neji struck out with his fair, delicate hand, his two fingers held together, and at the opportune moment, he gently poked Hinata's arm from bottom to top, hitting a pressure point precisely.

Slowly pulling open the clothes on Hinata's arms, her fair arms were covered with red spots, all from pressure points that had been hit without her realizing it.

Sora shook his head and said, "Hinata has no chance of winning, but her spirit is commendable. Her arm meridians were severed by Gentle Fist, so she will only get weaker as she fights. Perhaps she wants to prove something."

[Shikamaru agrees with Sora's point. Hinata is the eldest daughter of the Hyuga clan's main branch, yet she has little presence. You can imagine the pressure she feels. It's really troublesome.]

Neji suddenly exerted his strength and struck Hinata in the chest with a palm, sending her flying.

"Hinata, do your best! You have to defeat that damn Neji!" Naruto shouted.

"Admit defeat, Hinata-san. I don't know what the consequences will be if we continue fighting."

Neji regained his composure, turned around, and slowly walked away.

Neji's Gentle Fist had struck Hinata's heart; he didn't believe Hinata had the ability to continue fighting.

"Neji-nii-san, wait a minute."

Hinata stood up unsteadily, barely able to stand.

Hinata wants to make a change, even if it's just a little bit.

"To interpret your own ninja way, Naruto? What is your ninja way?" Sora asked.

"I keep my word. That's my ninja way. Hinata, do your best! You must defeat Neji."

Sora shook his head and said, "Hinata has already lost. Continuing will only lead to her death. Do you think everyone is as resilient as you?"

Hinata hadn't even taken two steps when she collapsed to the ground again. Several ninjas quickly rushed forward and carried her away to treat her.

The noisy match fell silent again. The screen spun rapidly, then froze, showing Zaku versus Shino.

[Shino only glanced at it, but he already felt confident. Sora had already mentioned the method for dealing with the Sound Ninja during the first written test.]

"Damn it." Sak glared fiercely at Uchiha Sora.

"Kakashi, it seems that Uchiha Sora from your class is quite a smart guy. He saw through the Sound Ninja's weakness on their first meeting. No wonder he fought Dosu so easily," Anko said.

"Such an obvious flaw, isn't it obvious to anyone with a brain?"

A group of Jonin turned their heads at the same time during the exam, feeling extremely frustrated.

Kakashi realized that Sora's way of speaking was quite enjoyable, which explained why Sora always spoke in a sarcastic and sarcastic manner. While his ability to provoke people was captivating, it also made him prone to offending others.

Chapter Sixty-Five: Speed

"go to hell."

Zak raised both hands at the same time, pointing the nozzles in his palms at Shino.

"Buzz, puff."

A jet of wind, like a laser beam, shot out, and a violent gust of wind instantly hit Shino's body.

Countless parasitic insects flew out, and Shino disappeared from the spot. Groups of parasitic insects crawled on the ground, approaching Zaku.

Shino's body formed on the other side of the competition hall, and he pushed up his glasses.

"Admit defeat, you are no match for me."

[Shino, who has a low profile, actually really wants to get his crew's attention, but his personality makes him taciturn. Now that he finally has a chance to show off, he can't let it pass him by.]

"Give up? Stop talking nonsense. How could I possibly give up? Keep experiencing my air cannon."

"puff."

Then a scream rang out.

Countless streams of chakra erupted from his wrist, while numerous parasitic insects moved in and out of Zaku's palm, completely blocking the nozzle.

"I told you, I've found a way to beat you."

"Aburame Shinobu is the winner."

The Chunin Exams preliminary rounds were in full swing, and Sasuke and Kankuro easily defeated two ninjas from the Grass Village.

The participating genin all suspected that the Grass Ninja had found the scroll by chance and ended the victory in a near-crushing fashion.

The screen scrolls and then freezes.

Rock Lee versus Gaara.

[“Finally, it’s Gaara’s turn. This ninja named Rock Lee is really pitiful; he might die at Gaara’s hands.” Kankuro was a little gloating. He had experienced too much fear, and now he could finally let others experience it too.]

"Kankuro, if you keep thinking nonsense, I'll kill you." Gaara's cold voice rang out, and with a gust of wind and sand, Gaara appeared on the field.

Lee Rock disappeared from behind the railing and appeared on the field as if by teleportation.

So fast! Many people hadn't even seen him clearly before Xiao Li appeared.

"Go, Lee! Defeat that guy with the gourd!" Naruto shouted.

"Xiao Li, charge forward bravely. No matter what lies ahead, youth is without regrets, even if it is full of bitterness or danger."

Xiao Li's eyes immediately welled up with tears, and he nodded frantically, shouting, "Teacher Kai..."

[Even among the Jonin, Guy is the most outstanding, always radiating light. Today, Rock Lee will also shine and show Guy what he's made of.]

Kankuro and Temari were speechless. Are all the ninjas in Konoha this abnormal? It's really awkward to watch.

Might Guy laughed loudly, "This is also a kind of training. If you don't even dare to face worldly prejudices, how can you become an excellent ninja?"

Kakashi glanced at Guy in surprise, never expecting the usually carefree Guy to have such a sentimental side.

"Hey, Kakashi, are you praising me? It makes me, who considers you my eternal rival, a little embarrassed. This is the first time you've ever praised me."

"What does the narration have to do with me?" Kakashi said.
