Chapter Thirteen: Kakashi changed to Asuma

"Damn it, what do you take me for, a breeding machine?"

Sora glanced at Sasuke, his face flushed red, as if he were about to breathe fire.

"No, who said they wanted to revitalize the Uchiha clan? Now there are only the two of us in the whole clan. How can we revitalize it? We just need to have more children."

Now even the plan itself can't be sustained.

Sasuke turned away, too lazy to bother with Uchiha Sora. He wouldn't compromise; making a dignified Uchiha like Sasuke spend his days having children was worse than killing him.

"You should be secretly happy, Sasuke. Kakashi-sensei is still unmarried and is probably quite envious of him."

Kakashi was speechless. Why was he always used as a negative example? Looks like he needs to find a wife soon so he won't be constantly gossiped about.

"Sasuke, did you see that? This is the power of gossip. Even a powerful ninja like Kakashi can't stand a few words of gossip. If you get married late, you'll definitely be worse off than Kakashi."

People will surely say that the Uchiha clan, with its lineage spanning over a thousand years, is about to fall at Sasuke's hands. That Sasuke is such an unfilial son, he doesn't even have a bloodline descendant.

[Haha, Sora is getting more and more pleasing to the eye, Sakura thought, feigning composure but inwardly overjoyed.]

"Hmph, but you're still here."

Sasuke only wants to take revenge; let Sora handle the task of strengthening the Uchiha clan.

"Fine, let the Uchiha clan perish in my hands. I have no interest in whether my clan grows stronger or not."

"You bastard." Sasuke glared at Sora, trying to play dumb with me.

[Sasuke didn't expose Sora's lazy nature, so let him continue being lazy. The Uchiha clan doesn't have such a spineless guy.]

Kong quietly posted a voiceover in the system space.

"Cough cough."

The third generation coughed twice forcefully to make his presence known.

"This is the mission pick-up area, not a place for them to chat."

"Grandpa, give us a challenging task. Or I'll perform a seduction act for you tonight."

[The third generation almost had a nosebleed just thinking about the scene.]

"Don't talk nonsense. I am the Hokage of Konoha. How could I be tempted by a mere ninjutsu? Lady Mie's pet dog is lost. Please help me find it."

"I'm not helping any lady find her puppy!" Naruto shouted.

Sasuke was also somewhat disdainful. He was a man seeking revenge; how could he ever get his revenge if he kept taking on such trivial missions?

The Third Hokage took a drag of his cigarette, his expression turning serious, and said, "You think being Hokage is just about completing a few difficult missions? The most basic assessment is the amount of missions you complete."

Only after completing enough D-rank missions can one accept C-rank missions, and so on, until one is promoted to Hokage.

The third generation plans to appease Class 7 first and let them have some peace and quiet for a few days.

[The Hokage truly lives up to his title; he speaks with such eloquence that even a simple-minded guy like Naruto is easily persuaded. Kakashi pondered to himself.]

"Old man, you actually teamed up with Kakashi-sensei to fool us."

Naruto's intelligence has improved; he can now even understand what Kakashi and the Third Hokage meant when they said he was stupid.

[Ever since the narrator started speaking, the Third Hokage has noticed he's getting headaches more and more frequently. Is he worried he might suddenly have a blood vessel burst one day?]

"Alright, this is a task assigned by the village, you can't refuse. If you want to increase the difficulty of the task, do more D-level tasks, or work hard to improve your strength. Now everyone go out, I have other things to do."

The Third Hokage was furious and didn't want to get entangled with Naruto any longer, so he decided to send them away immediately.

Naruto, feeling resentful, planned to secretly spread rumors that the Third Hokage was a pervert who had spied on women in the bathhouse.

The Third Hokage's lips twitched, and he roared, "Get out of here! Kakashi is taking them on a mission. Don't let me see you again today."

The Third Hokage only breathed a sigh of relief after the entire Team 7 had left the office.

"Narrator, come out here, we need to talk."

The Third Hokage had eyes and ears everywhere; no movement could escape his notice.

After waiting for more than ten minutes without any movement, the Third Generation awkwardly continued to check the mission list in his hand.

Uchiha Sora almost burst out laughing as he walked out of the mission center. The system space was playing footage of the Third Hokage.

After such a long period of understanding, Sora is very clear that the narration is just an emotionless program that knows the past and future of the Naruto world.

What may be a huge secret to some is simply, for the narrator, reading out what they know or what people are thinking.

"Shikamaru, you guys are here to take on missions too? What missions have you taken on these past few days?"

As soon as they left the mission hall, they encountered Asuma's team, and Naruto couldn't wait to ask them questions.

Naruto was extremely dissatisfied with the tasks assigned to them by the Third Hokage, which consisted of nothing but weeding and finding pets. He desperately needed someone to share his frustrations with, and Shikamaru Nara, another lazy bum from Konoha, was one of Naruto's few friends. Naruto was eager to complain to Shikamaru.

Naruto secretly wanted to share with Shikamaru the fact that the Third Hokage was a big pervert and often used a crystal ball to peep into the women's bathhouse.

"Cough cough."

As the son of the Third Hokage, Sarutobi Asuma felt it necessary to stop Naruto from spreading rumors about his father, even though Naruto was telling the truth.

Asuma actually admitted that the Hokage was a pervert, which surprised Shikamaru. But wasn't he supposed to be a lazy bum? Why would he be interested in something like that?

Shikamaru believes that the Hokage's usual image is too positive, and this sudden, huge contrast has caught his attention.

"Alright, we still have missions to receive. Let's not discuss this kind of thing anymore, since it's something that would damage the Hokage's reputation," Asuma said seriously.

Asuma sighed inwardly. With the narration, there was no point in trying to stop him. He could only hope the old man had a strong heart and wouldn't overreact.

[Sasuke is still so handsome. It's a shame that the girl with the wide forehead is on the same team as Sasuke. Ino wishes she could switch places with Sakura.]

"Ino, you're dreaming. Sasuke belongs to me. You should stay with this lazy bum with the pineapple head. He's a good match for you."

Sakura roared inwardly, "You dare try to steal Sasuke from me? I'll smash your pig's head in!"

Shikamaru rolled his eyes. Women in love are truly terrifying and troublesome. It's better to stay single from now on.

"Shikamaru, your thinking is terrifying, look at that..."

[Kakashi immediately realized that Sora was going to use him as an analogy again, so he quickly covered Sora's mouth. Why does this guy always drag him into everything?]

Sora finally managed to break free from Kakashi's restraints and said, "Kakashi-sensei has misunderstood. Isn't there another one right in front of us? And he's Shikamaru's teacher."

Asuma-sensei, he's over thirty and still single. Shikamaru, look at the stubble on Asuma-sensei's face! His clothes go through two weeks without anyone washing them. That's the tragedy of an old man—no wife to help him take care of himself.

Chapter Fourteen: The Crow Laughs at the Pig

Asma sighed, speechless. Are kids these days so direct?

"Sora, don't talk nonsense. Asuma-sensei may be sloppy, but he's still a very good person, conscientious and responsible."

Ino glanced at Kakashi and said, "I heard that some teachers are late for hours, leaving you stranded on the training field and not letting you eat. Asuma would never do that."

Asuma felt a bit lost, wondering if he was really that sloppy. Luckily, he had Kakashi to compare himself to, as Kakashi already had someone to pursue, while Kakashi was still single.

"Pfft."

[Kong couldn't help but burst out laughing. The crow laughs at the pig for being black, but it's actually blacker itself.]

Asuma's forehead veins were bulging; comparing him to a crow made Kakashi look like a pig, which wasn't bad at all.

Kong laughed so hard he almost fell over, saying, "Teacher Asuma is right, 'Black Crow' does sound better than 'Pig'."

"You little brat, you're using roundabout insults. Don't think I can't tell. I'll let it slide for now. Let's go get our mission."

Asma changed the subject, saying that kids these days are becoming increasingly disobedient, and he was feeling quite weary.

"Shikamaru, after we finish our mission this afternoon, let's have a meal together. It's been a few days since graduation," Sora said.

Ino quickly said, "The two lazybones are getting together again? Sora, you can't corrupt Shikamaru, he's only just started to get better these past few days."

Shikamaru rolled his eyes. Women are such a hassle.

"Boom."

"Shikamaru, who are you calling a nuisance?" Ino punched Shikamaru on the head.

Sakura nodded inwardly, "Well done! Smash Shikamaru's head! Ino is still too gentle."

"Let's go, we still have a mission to complete," Kakashi said calmly.

[Kakashi has figured out some patterns in narration: the more he talks, the more he thinks, the more he exposes.]

[Actually, Kakashi is wrong. The narrator knows everything, whether you say it or not, whether you want to or not.]

Kakashi remained silent, as if he hadn't heard the narrator's words.

"Kakashi-sensei, don't be so serious. We're all on the same side. Even if we overheard some secrets, we won't spread them," Sora said as they walked.

[Kong speaks so seriously, but what I really want to hear is some gossip about Kakashi-sensei.]

[Kakashi-sensei may seem very serious, but even with his keen eye, he still managed to spot Kakashi's hidden, secretly passionate side. Otherwise, he wouldn't be carrying around a copy of Icha Icha Paradise every day.]

Kakashi gritted his teeth, his recently calmed emotions surging again. He was determined to take advantage of the mission to beat Kuu to a pulp and vent his anger.

I chuckled inwardly. You were as calm as a still pond, but now you've broken down and have to obediently contribute your emotional points to me.

The current system store is full of random stuff, but Kong firmly believes that accumulating more emotional points will come in handy someday.

"Kakashi-sensei, I am your student. How could you have such a wicked thought?"
