Some are happy, some are sad.

Some people smiled, seemingly very confident in their grades, certain that they would get into a good school.

Some people were grief-stricken and sullen, as if they had given up hope on their results.

Yixue walked out of the school with a smile. Tonight, the class was organizing a graduation party, but Yixue declined.

Because nothing is more important than having dinner with your father.

"Dad," Yixue said sweetly from the passenger seat, a smile on her face.

"How do you think you'll do on the exam?" Yi Yue asked.

"It will be great," Yixue said confidently. She felt that the questions were really too easy, and she even overestimated the content of this exam.

"So confident?" Yi Yue asked with a smile.

"Of course," Yi Xue laughed, snuggling up to Yi Yue. "A reward!"

"That's not a good idea." Yi Yue hesitated, looking around as if afraid of being seen.

Yi Xue didn't care and pressed her lips to Yi Yue's. They separated only after a long while, satisfied.

Looking at Yi Yue, who was used to it all and whose common sense had been distorted, Yi Xue even felt like laughing.

In her father's common sense, Yi Yue felt that everything she did was out of concern for her daughter.

With that gentle demeanor, Yi Yue was unaware of what she was doing.

Yixue thought her father was really adorable. Without any hesitation, she hugged Yiyue affectionately and casually asked, "When is Mom coming back?"

"The day after tomorrow." Yi Yue was completely unaware of the little tricks Yi Xue was doing to him.

Yi Xue squinted her eyes, feeling a mix of regret and excitement.

"There's nothing we can do about it. But—let's prepare a gift for Mom; it's a gift I've wanted to give her for a long time."

"Hehe." Yixue's face was flushed, and she laughed sickly.

Side Story 5: Mutual Support

Side Story 5: Mutual Support

"Are you Xingzi?"

Xingzi stopped and looked at the woman, who was wearing a mask, sunglasses, and a hat, completely covering her body.

The woman took off her sunglasses, revealing half of her face.

Kyoko froze, a name swirling in her mind: "Is it Reina?"

"Yes, it's me." Rena exclaimed, very excited. "I don't know how long it's been since we last saw each other."

“It’s been almost ten years.” Kyoko forced a smile. She hadn’t seen Rena since she went abroad that day.

"How are you doing these days?" Rena asked, looking at Kyoko's office lady outfit.

"It's alright, being a white-collar worker is enough to make a living," Xingzi said with a smile. "How about you?"

"I guess I could be considered a celebrity, if I had to." Rena said, half modestly and half boasting to a former friend.

Kyoko rarely watches TV and doesn't care about entertainment news; otherwise, she would have pointed at Rena in surprise and exclaimed, "Isn't this my best friend from before?!"

The two chatted for a few more minutes, mostly just casual pleasantries.

I was very excited at first, but after the excitement subsided, I didn't know what to say.

They've all grown up; they're not the same as before.

When they left, no one even suggested going to a coffee shop to sit down, chat, and reminisce about the past.

Xingzi was thinking about her work and wanted to finish quickly so she wouldn't be late.

Rena was afraid of being photographed by paparazzi, so she quickly put on her sunglasses again.

When they left, they didn't even exchange contact information.

Anzu once painted a picture, and the story in the picture is like this.

The village has a small river, but this year there was a drought, and the people were destitute.

The stream had dried up, the land was cracked, and two fish were on the verge of death.

One is a carp destined to transform into a dragon, the other is a lowly, ugly grass carp.

Two fish were dying of thirst. They huddled together silently, exchanging saliva to each other in the hope that the other would survive.

This act moved the heavens, and a great rain fell.

The rain poured down, and two fish were swept up by the water and flowed into the river.

But the two fish were no longer as affectionate as they once were, as if the incident had never happened.

Carp swim in the great river, while grass carp remain in the village stream.

This is what it means to support each other through thick and thin.

Author's Closing Remarks

This book is finished, and I feel very melancholy.

According to the original plan, I was supposed to stop writing yesterday after I finished writing the "One Year Later" chapter.

Today I'm writing "Remembering Snow" and "Sharing Weal and Woe".

Many people say that I haven't filled in any plot holes, but I feel that I have filled in all of them, and I believe that I have written the ending for each character.

I can't keep writing and write another long novel.

There's really nothing I can do about this, and I hope everyone can understand.

Only an open ending can be left.

As soon as I woke up, I saw a lot of questions from readers about the supernatural parts of the ending and the extra chapters.

As for the supernatural part of the ending, I was just being deliberately mysterious.

The mystery surrounding this book is similar to that of reality; there are virtually no supernatural occurrences, but there are always some things that will send chills down your spine and make you shudder when you think about them.

The subsequent side stories are not interconnected.

You can think of this as a parallel world; I sent each person an ending.

If I had to admit what would happen next, it would be "a year later" and "sharing weal and woe".

The story goes that a year later, Rena accompanied Makise abroad.

I never contacted Xingzi again.

What happened in that year was that Xingzi changed her phone number and her address.

Yi Yue and Yi Xue were together, and Yi Xue had a slight advantage, but unlike what happened in Yi Xue's story, there was only a little bit of scheming. This year was probably the happiest year for Yi Xue, although she was also very tired as the college entrance exam approached.

Then Yiyue and Yixue also went abroad to settle down.

Next, Reina returned to Japan, while Yixue and the others remained abroad. Later, Reina became a star and happened to run into Kyoko on the street.

It feels quite realistic. It turns out that even the best of friends get very excited to see each other, but don't know what to say.

Because everyone was busy, there wasn't even time to sit down, and we even forgot to exchange contact information.

Perhaps subconsciously, they both believed that they would never cross paths again.

That's roughly the story. If you still have questions, feel free to ask in the comments, and I'll answer them one by one in my replies.

To the fans who made it this far, I sincerely say thank you.

Thank you for your continued support!

May everyone continue to move forward and go even further in the new year.

……

Regarding the new book, it's about the paranormal, but I won't reveal the details yet.

I haven't even started writing the outline yet. I estimate I'll need to take a few days off and adjust my schedule accordingly.

I estimate the new book will be announced in about a week. I hope everyone can wait.

Firstly, I was really tired. Last night, I was half asleep when I suddenly got a leg cramp, and then the other leg cramped up when I lay down. It felt like my legs were being put into a blender, and my mouth hurt so much that I bit down on the blanket.

Secondly, I'm seriously thinking about the plot, hoping to write this book even better.

The only thing I can reveal in advance is that the protagonist's name is Su Mu.

Haha, of course it has absolutely nothing to do with this book.

Happy New Year to everyone! Keep moving forward and take another step towards your dreams.
