Suddenly, 6 Ming and Winsland said in unison.

It's obvious that they both considered this possibility and felt that it was very, very likely that the child would be born!

After all, aside from the royal family of the Aifa Empire, their nobles were all quite inclined to utilize the Church of the Deep and the Deep Saint Eldridge. Therefore, it wasn't impossible for Roas Svlokoski to want to form an army composed of people from the evil force of the Church of the Deep.

However, one thing puzzled them greatly: what gave this elf, Svlokoski, the right to believe he could command the Church of the Deep? While the Deep lacked the abyss's aggressiveness and ambition, it was no pushover. If pushed too far, it would devour anything that offended it!

But just as they were beginning to doubt Slovokowski's overconfidence, several commanders of small units with few soldiers suddenly arrived, found them, and said in a panic, "The elves have begun their attack!!"

Upon hearing this, Liu Ming and Winslant immediately led the group out of the room and onto the outer walls of the giant fortress of Slanlot Castle.

On the way, Liu Ming took out his Gazing Bow and put a large number of Moonlight Arrows into his quiver. Winslant, standing beside him, also had his adjutant bring him a specially made bow and arrows. This way, they could join the battle as soon as they arrived at their destination.

Standing behind the parapet, Liu Ming looked at the army of the Aifa Empire preparing to attack in the distance. He roughly counted that the Aifa Empire had only sent a little over 6 troops to attack the giant fortress of Slanlot, which was only slightly more than half the number of the Slanlot fortress garrison.

With such a small force, it would be absolutely impossible for Svlokosky to capture this giant fortress!

Therefore, Liu Ming felt that the other party must be hiding some terrifying trump card, otherwise, such a thing, which was almost like sending soldiers to their deaths, would never have happened!

Roas Svlokoski, a general and grand duke of the Aifa Empire, possessed an exceptionally strong personality. He wouldn't give the Church of the Deep any opportunity to exploit the situation, and might even force them to attack the city. Although this personality likely meant he would ultimately die at the hands of the Church of the Deep, it was precisely this personality that allowed Liu Ming to know in advance that Svlokoski had prepared a backup plan.

"It seems that Svlokosky has other plans in mind. Tell everyone else to be careful." After realizing that there was a high probability that Svlokosky would prepare a backup plan, Liu Ming said to Winsland and her adjutant beside him.

Upon hearing what Liu Ming said, Winslant glanced at her adjutant. Her adjutant immediately understood and ran to inform the commanders of the other units.

Just minutes after Winsland's adjutant left, the army of the Aifa Empire began its advance.

Among this army of over 40,000 elves were siege ladders, simple siege ladders, and siege weapons such as battering rams.

Compared to Mordred Fortress, the smaller Slanlot Castle lacked the protection of multiple walls; it only had one. Furthermore, while Slanlot Castle was a fortress, its size, though considerable, was far less than Mordred Fortress in terms of capacity to accommodate a large number of soldiers. Therefore, Liu Ming felt that this battle would likely be much more difficult than the one at Mordred Fortress. A moment's carelessness could result in a gruesome death!

Therefore, when the Aifa army began to advance, he signaled to Ramanas with his eyes, instructing her to lead the knights of Yggdrasil to launch lightning spears at the Aifa Empire's army formation.

Immediately, a wave of lightning spears was hurled by the knights of Yggsortus into the army of the Aifa Empire, killing thousands of elven soldiers, destroying several rams, and wounding two to three thousand elven soldiers.

Even so, the soldiers of the Aifa Empire continued their relentless assault.

Seeing this, Ramanlas no longer waited for Lu Ming's signal and immediately began to command the knights of Yogsotus to continuously hurl lightning spears at the soldiers of the Aifa Empire.

The archers began firing, as did Liu Ming, who was practically a commander of Yugsotus.

However, the elven soldiers continued their relentless charge towards Slanlot Castle, undeterred by the falling lightning or the rain of arrows. Long live the Queen! This was the driving force behind the elven soldiers' ceaseless advance, the source of their fearless courage.

"Thunder! Pierce him!"

Suddenly, lightning flashed in several places where arrows couldn't reach, and with a series of roars, bolts of lightning shot out, striking the soldiers on the outer walls of Slanlot Castle and instantly killing countless people!

As the most magic-wielding member of Miracath's army, Yogg-Sotus naturally had to take on the task of stopping the elven mages from continuing their spellcasting.

"Mages! Prepare for magical bombardment!!" After hurling a giant lightning spear that killed an elven mage, Ramaras roared and commanded the mages in Yogg-Sotus to begin bombarding the enemy mages with magical bombardment that required no spellcasting!

But they knew the importance of mages, and Svlokosky's people certainly did too! Before the mages of Yggdrasil could unleash their magical bombardment, the elven soldiers began shooting arrows at the Yggdrasil knights on the city walls, preventing them from properly preparing their magic and miracles!

"Activate the contract! Summon the elemental creatures!!" Knowing that things couldn't continue like this, Liu Ming immediately roared the order, commanding everyone in Yggdrasil to summon the elemental creatures they had made contracts with to aid them in battle!

Immediately, all members of the Yogsotus Cavalry summoned the elemental creatures they had made pacts with to the city walls, and ordered these Shadow Wolves and Starlight Eagles to help attack the army of the Aifa Empire, relieving some of the pressure.

Initially, these elemental creatures did relieve the pressure on Miracath's army. These Shadow Wolves and Starlight Eagles also killed many elven soldiers and helped the mages among the Yogg-Sotus Knights to deal with some elven mages.

However, things soon changed.

With the appearance of the elemental creatures, the remaining elven mages immediately began chanting spells to banish them, sending each elemental creature back to its own world. Thus, while the elemental creatures summoned by the knights of Yogg-Sotus gave Miracath's army an advantage, they did not ultimately secure the victory.

After they were driven back to their own elemental world, the elves of the Aifar Empire brought the war back to a stalemate, much to the frustration of Miracaiser's army.

While the spell to banish summoned creatures is mana-intensive, the number of mages among the knights of Yogg-Soth is relatively small. Relying solely on them to summon elemental creatures and compete with elven mages in terms of mana reserves is unrealistic. Furthermore, the remaining Yogg-Soth knights can only summon elemental creatures a maximum of twice a day. Therefore, Miracaesar's army has abandoned any plans for summoning creatures.

However, just because they don't want to doesn't mean the elves don't want to.

As the battle dragged on, the elven mages began to summon their own creatures... no! Strictly speaking, it wasn't summoning magic, but rather magic that teleported things that weren't there!

After bursts of greenish-blue light, dozens of giants, each four meters tall, with stubble beards, wearing animal skins, carrying large wooden clubs, and with faces that looked obviously stupid, appeared on the battlefield.

"Mountain Giants!!" Upon seeing those giants, which were much, much smaller than ordinary giants, many soldiers on the city wall immediately shouted, as if they had seen something extremely terrifying.

Mountain giants are inferior slaves created by the elves through the fusion of giants, humans, and beastmen. Like the rock-bodied giants, mountain giants are foolish, but possess immense brute strength, more terrifying than ordinary siege weapons. Moreover, while they cannot completely ignore magical damage like giants, they can withstand fifty percent of the damage and are impervious to fire.

Most dangerously, their skin, though appearing the same as that of ordinary people, possessed the same stone-like skin as the giants, capable of deflecting arrows. This terrified Miracaiser's soldiers.

"Everyone, prepare your thunder spears!!" Perhaps out of resentment, or perhaps wanting to restore morale to its pre-mountain giant form, Ramanlas roared an order to his troops when all but Yugsotus, Deucalion, and the five thousand elite soldiers that Grand Duke Feram had assigned to Winsland were clamoring for a retreat.

Furthermore, she was the first to throw the giant thunder spear, striking a nearby mountain giant.

When the smoke cleared, she realized that although her giant lightning spear had damaged the mountain giant, it wasn't a wound that could render the giant unable to move or attack. It was merely a superficial injury that caused the mountain giant to bleed a little.

"Ugh... Roar~~!!!" The giant who was hit by the giant lightning spear touched his wound stupidly, then realized that he was bleeding. He roared angrily and charged directly towards where Ramanlas was.

Seeing this, the elven soldiers who made way for the mountain giant all thought that Ramanlas was doomed, and that the humans and beastmen of Slanlot Castle were also doomed!

But......

With a loud "BOOM!", an arrow as sharp as a short spear pierced the spot where the elven soldier was, pinning him to the ground. The shockwave and spreading lightning also injured several other nearby elven soldiers.

Judging from the still-present trail of lightning, the golden lightning arrow was shot from the outer wall of Slanlot Castle! Moreover, before killing the elven soldier, the arrow had already pierced the body of a mountain giant!

Watching the mountain giant who had roared at his wife, Ramanlas, fall heavily to the ground, Liu Ming lowered his hand from the huge bow he was holding, smiled slightly at the other commanders who were somewhat dumbfounded, and asked, "Does anyone need a bow?"

Seeing Liu Ming smiling at them, the other commanders couldn't help but swallow nervously, none of them daring to say a word.

In the end, it was Winslant who spoke up and eased the awkward atmosphere.

"If it's one of these, count me in!"

"Ha! Great!" Upon hearing that Winslant wanted the dragon-hunting bow he had, Liu Ming smiled and handed it to Winslant. Then, he took out two more dragon-hunting bows and hundreds of dragon-hunting lightning arrows that he had seized in the royal city of Anor Londo from his phone and distributed them to Ramanlas and Winslant.

"Dragon hunting used to be one of our specialties in Irithyll. And this bow is the great bow used for dragon hunting, named the 'Dragon Hunting Greatbow'!"

Chapter Thirty-Five - The Giant's Hammer

"A dragon-hunting bow? This human's got some skills! Too bad... he can't be used by me." Sitting in his tent, Roas Svlokoski was watching his troops attack Slanlot Castle through the magic of Kaguga from the Church of the Deep. After seeing Liu Ming severely injure a foolish mountain giant with his dragon-hunting bow, he stroked his beard and sneered.

"This Liu Ming is Lord Eldridge's chosen food, so its power is undeniable. However, the mountain giants seem to be suffering greatly from the dragon-hunting bows they've used, so it seems this attack on Slanlot Castle is going to fail, General." Hearing Roas's praise of Liu Ming's abilities, Kaguga smiled happily, then expressed his unease about the upcoming attack on Slanlot Castle to Roas.

"Rest assured, Kaguga of the Church of the Deep. My father's goal was not to conquer this fortress, otherwise we would have already taken it!" A female elven officer suddenly spoke up, sneering.

Although the female elf spoke in a very calm tone, as if she regarded Kaguga as herself, the contempt and utter disdain in her eyes when she looked at Kaguga, along with the cold smile that remained on her lips throughout, made Kaguga extremely disgusted with this female elf officer.

The problem was that this female elven officer was the daughter of Roas Svlokosky, the deputy commander of this elven army, Kemias Svlokosky. Therefore, Kaguga had to ask her respectfully, "Miss, since Slanlot Castle is not your target, what is your purpose in attacking Slanlot Castle?"

"Enemy intelligence!" Camillas couldn't help but sneer at Kaguga's question, her gaze towards him growing even more contemptuous. However, she ultimately told Kaguga the reason for their attack on Slanlot Castle.

"What?" Upon hearing this reason, Kaguga was stunned. Clearly, he could not accept this inexplicable explanation.

After all, obtaining intelligence is easy; all it takes is sending out spies. There's absolutely no need to sacrifice soldiers' lives to acquire information about the enemy's combat capabilities, weapons, magical abilities, or hidden trump cards.

"Kakuga, although I don't know what your Deep Saint is thinking, I'm very wary of the trump cards that Lu Ming, this human, has been hiding all this time! After all, my old friend, Monska Vixtusa, who died in a conspiracy between the military of your Deep Saint and the Erebus Duchy of Miracaisar, once wrote to me saying that the Giant of the Forest Arrow was eaten alive and reduced to bones by something. After some investigation, I found that the thing was the one that the idiot Booker accidentally brought back to Aifa, called 'Shoggoth.' And 'Shoggoth' is Lu Ming's summoned creature, so I want to know just how powerful the 'Shoggoth' card is. Also, I want to know if Lu Ming has any other trump cards that can take down your Deep Saint! So it's necessary to use the Mountain Giant, which is easier to raise than the Giant, to provoke the guards of Slanlot Castle and force him to use his trump cards!"

"..." Upon hearing General Roas's explanation, Kaguga fell into a long silence.

At the end of last year, when Booker fled back to Aifa from Anubai in Ampu, he accidentally brought back a small piece of Shoggoth, which resulted in several Elven soldiers being devoured by Shoggoth along with him, the fool.

However, that small number of individual Shoggoths were also captured by the Elven authorities and the Church of the Deep.

After a series of tests and studies, the facts and results proved how terrifying the Shoggoths, slime-like creatures, truly were. No magic or substance could destroy them. Even ghosts, beings that directly attack the soul, were completely helpless against the Shoggoths and were instead devoured by them!

Therefore, upon learning that such a terrifying thing as the Shoggoth was in the hands of Liu Ming, everyone in the Church of the Deep, from top to bottom, including the Deep Saint Eldridge, went to learn the magic of 'Summoning Exorcism', so as not to be tricked by Liu Ming with this thing when they wanted to deal with him in the future.

“General, if you think this is right, then it is right. But judging from the current situation, your plan doesn’t seem to be very successful!” After silently watching the front-line footage transmitted back by magic for a while, Kaguga finally spoke again.

“You’re right, the current situation doesn’t allow us to force Lu Ming to use his trump card. If it weren’t for the concern that powerful magic might harm his allies, a magician like him who manipulates forbidden arts could probably kill those mountain giants with just one spell or miracle. But! If you and he think that’s all I’ve prepared, then you’re sorely mistaken!” General Roas revealed a ferocious smile and said arrogantly to Kaguga.

No sooner had he finished speaking than a terrifying roar echoed from the magically constructed scene.

Upon hearing the shout, which sounded like a mixture of wailing, maniacal laughter, and furious roar, Kaguga was immediately startled. He then hurriedly looked at the magical screen and was met with a shocking sight!

At this moment, General Roas laughed loudly and said, "This is a curse that our Elven race planted when the Mountain Giant was born, called: The Giant's Hammer!!"

Upon hearing this, a bead of cold sweat dripped down Kaguga's face. He simply couldn't believe what he was seeing was real, because it was just too evil!

-----------------------------------

The arrows used with the Dragon Slayer Greatbow are very heavy. Even with her insectoid blood and extremely high strength, Ramanlas couldn't continuously fire the mountain giant with the Dragon Slayer Greatbow. This was even more true for Winslant, whose strength was far inferior to Ramanlas's.

If it weren't for the fact that Toures doesn't know how to use a bow and arrow at all, Winsland would have given her the Dragon Slayer Bow.

However, just because the two of them can't use the Dragonbow doesn't mean that Liu Ming can't use it either.

After nocking the Dragon Hunter Arrow onto the bowstring, Liu Ming slowly drew back the Dragon Hunter Greatbow, aimed at a hideous mountain giant, and fired his arrow. The arrow pierced the mountain giant's chest, causing him to fall heavily to the ground, slowly awaiting death.

"There are too many mountain giants. Whoever is strong and good at archery, come and help me. I can't draw this bow anymore!" Winslant shouted to the soldiers and officers not far away after firing his fourth arrow, probably because he was exhausted.

Immediately, a burly, beast-eared officer ran over, took the Dragonbow from Winsland's hand, and began to use it to kill the mountain giant. However, even he found it somewhat difficult to wield such a large bow.

As the newly arrived orc officer struggled to draw back the Dragon Hunter's Greatbow and fire his first arrow, Liu Ming had already fired another Dragon Hunter Thunder Arrow and was once again drawing back the Dragon Hunter's Greatbow and aiming.

Looking around at those who lacked the ability to draw the Dragonbow, he couldn't help but feel envious.

However, at that moment, after firing another shot, Liu Ming faintly sensed the magical power emanating from the elven mages. It seemed these elven mages were doing something to the mountain giant. He immediately knew something was wrong and quickly raised his hand, firing a Dragon-Slaying Thunder Arrow, killing the leader of the elven mages!

But it was all too late.

With the death of that mage, the second-ranking elven mage immediately took over his power and task, quickly casting a curse-like spell that caused the mountain giants pain, anger, joy, and sorrow, making them roar madly.

Soon, these mountain giants grew rapidly in the eyes of Liu Ming and the others, and their flesh and blood bodies transformed into bodies composed of minerals.

6 Ming and many other magicians were able to sense that the mountain giant was becoming stronger and more terrifying as it changed.

As their power grew, the cost of the curse the elves cast on these mountain giants gradually became apparent.

No matter how stupid or hideous the mountain giants looked, they were still humanoid creatures, a hybrid of humans, beastmen, and giants who were given the name mountain giants!

Now they are slowly transforming into a twisted insect or something resembling a starfish or sea urchin, composed of minerals and metals.

"This is 'Giant's Hammer'!" Upon seeing the mountain giants transform into even more terrifying monsters, Winslant exclaimed with great concern, "According to the intelligence we've gathered, this is the monster that the elves created by using a special curse to fully unleash the giant blood within the mountain giants."

"Clang!!!"

When the beast-eared officer fired a dragon-hunting lightning arrow, which struck a creature that had mutated into a twisted insect, everyone realized that the dragon-hunting lightning arrow and dragon-hunting greatbow, which had been so effective just moments before, were now doing little to harm the mountain giants whose giant bloodlines had been stimulated by the elves. Instead, they were only creating some craters in their bodies.

However, being composed of minerals such as metal and rock, they were not seriously harmed. They were still able to move and attack, and were heading towards the outer walls of Slanlot Castle.

"Are there any cannons or anything like that inside the fortress?" After personally firing a dragon-hunting lightning arrow and smashing the head of a mountain giant that had turned into a mineral insect, and realizing that these monsters that the mountain giants had turned into could still move after losing their heads and were no longer living beings, Liu Ming asked Winsland beside him.

However, Winslant's answer disappointed Liu Ming somewhat.

She shook her head and said, "There are no cannons from the dwarves or beastmen in this fortress."

"Sigh..." With a hint of disappointment, Liu Ming looked at the city walls that had been reached, attacking them with tentacles and pincers. After a while, he suggested to Winsland beside him, "I think we should retreat!"
