Chapter 5 - Invasion

That night, a somewhat worried Ramanlas took advantage of Lu Ming grading students' homework to find Miral in the bathroom, wanting her to restrain herself to avoid any trouble.

Before Ramanlas could even speak, Miral, who was taking a shower, said directly, "If you're trying to say that Lu Ming knows how to make puppet soldiers, then there's no need to say it. I already knew that."

"What!? You knew all along?"

"How do you think I learned to make puppet soldiers? He taught me himself!"

"Then why..."

"Alright, alright! Don't worry about me. Everything is under control. I won't let him hate me!" Miral stepped out of the bathtub, grabbed Ramanlas, and said with a hint of impatience.

Ramanlas wanted to say something, but Miral suddenly kissed her on the lips, rendering her speechless and leaving her no choice but to let Miral take advantage of her...

While Lu Ming and his two companions were in the principal's office, which combined the office and dormitory, Henes was using materials obtained from Lu Ming to create a small wolf-shaped puppet soldier in her dormitory, in order to improve her puppet soldier making technology.

At that moment, a female professor from the Green Dragon Academy came into Henes's room with a notebook she had stolen from Mirall's office.

"Did you get the item?"

"Yes, Lady Hernes."

What is the content?

"This notebook hasn't been translated yet. It seems the vice-principal didn't want it to be seen by others, so he didn't give it to the two Professor Lus to translate. However, this notebook contains a lot of drawings, many of which are very detailed drawings of puppet soldiers. There also seem to be some drawings of ancient golems. Clearly, our principal is much more proficient in these things than the vice-principal."

"But whether he's pretending not to know how to create puppet soldiers or genuinely doesn't is the question. Many mages achieve remarkable success in areas of magic they don't know, yet they just can't learn those spells." With a slight smile, Henes turned around, took the notebook from the professor's hands, and began flipping through it while adjusting her puppet soldiers.

"Lady Henes, can you understand this notebook?" The professor, who had brought the notebook, asked with some surprise, seeing that Henes could use the notes to adjust her puppet soldiers.

"Yes, I can understand it! My deceased brother taught me this script!"

"I'm so sorry to have reminded you of something unpleasant."

"You don't need to apologize. He's been dead for so many years, there's nothing to be sad about. His daughter has already been married twice..."

Seeing that Henes didn't seem to mind, the professor bowed slightly, turned and left the room, no longer wanting to disturb Henes as she completed her research.

Henes didn't care about the man's departure, as her attention remained focused on her research into the puppet soldiers.

Although obtaining this notebook doesn't directly prove Miral's lack of ability, she can use the knowledge in the notebook to create the illusion that her thoughts are very similar to Lu Ming's, thereby attracting Lu Ming's attention and gaining more leverage to challenge Miral for the position of vice principal and seize it.

Yes, Henessa wants to become the vice-principal of Prometheus School of Magic in order to gain more followers to hunt down the remaining soul vessels of Evangelines.

However, she also knew that she couldn't go too far, otherwise she would offend Lu Ming too much, and in the end, she and Miral might be expelled from the magic school together. So she needed to think about what to do before she could decide.

However, the most pressing task now is the development and modification of puppet soldiers. With the Aifa Empire about to invade Miracaissa, whoever can develop better and stronger puppet soldiers faster, reducing casualties among Miracaissa's soldiers, will gain a lot of reputation and thus more opportunities for promotion.

However, when Hernes was searching through her notes for binding magic used to shape materials, she was surprised to find that there was no such section in the notes at all.

At that moment, Henes felt as if she could see Lu Ming mocking her in the notebook, and she angrily slammed the notebook on the table.

However, she quickly calmed down, picked up the notes on the table, and began to review them again.

"You didn't even show this notebook to Miral, did you, Headmaster? But if you want to use this to prove you don't know how to create puppet soldiers and can only come up with ideas, you'd better see if I can write like you! Besides, who would believe someone who knows these things can't make puppet soldiers?!"

A slight smile played on her lips as she glanced at the still-fresh entries in the notebook. Henes immediately saw through Lu Ming's true intentions and the hidden trap. Therefore, she chose to ignore Lu Ming's ideas and not follow his plan. She wanted to see what other methods he would use to support Miral!

With a very bad feeling in her heart, Henes resumed the adjustments to the puppet soldiers, hoping to surpass Miral by a large margin in the experiment tomorrow.

-----------------------------------

"How is this possible!?"

The second day of development experiments had just begun when Miral and Henes were shocked by the similarity between each other's puppet soldiers and their own.

Whether it's the binding magic, the appearance, or the performance, they are basically exactly the same!

That's a bit scary.

Moreover, the fact that they shared the same thoughts made Miral and Henes feel very uncomfortable, extremely uncomfortable!

Looking at the two wolf-shaped puppet soldiers clad in iron armor, almost identical in appearance, on the experimental table in the center of the room, all the professors involved in the development couldn't help but marvel at the perfect synchronization between Miral and Henes.

However, Miral and Henes were both very unhappy about this and glared at Lu Ming in unison.

The two women themselves didn't think there was anything wrong with what they were doing, but some people inevitably saw it as something else entirely.

Therefore, after the experiment ended on the second day, rumors spread throughout the school that Henes was Lu Ming's "qingren" and that her perfect synchronization with Lu Ming's wife Miral was simply because they had both received guidance from Lu Ming.

The two women were naturally very unhappy about this, and every time they heard someone secretly discussing it, they would scold those people. This gradually made the professor believe it was true!

Especially after the two achieved perfect synchronization ten times in the third, fourth, fifth, sixth... eleventh experiments, everyone became convinced of the rumor.

In the end, if Miral and Henes hadn't known the rumors were false, they might have even begun to doubt whether they had truly been misled by Lu Ming's guidance. However, they both knew perfectly well that they hadn't received any guidance from Lu Ming. From beginning to end, he seemed completely ignorant about puppet soldier making and offered no real instruction to either of them!

So after ten days of perfect synchronization and the torment of rumors, Mirar and Henes decided to confront each other. During their spare time after dinner, they went to an empty secret room and took out their respective notebooks.

"These are the notes I took from your office." "These are the notes I stole from Lu Ming."

Holding their notebooks, Mirar and Henes spoke at the same time.

Upon hearing what the other person said, Miral and Henes were both taken aback. They took the other person's notebook and looked through it, only to find that the two notebooks were exactly the same!

Immediately, the two of them realized that they had been tricked by Lu Ming!

He had known all along that Heness would go to Miral's office to look for his notes on the puppet soldiers, so he secretly placed one of the two identical notebooks in Miral's office for Heness to take, and put the other notebook in the desk drawer for Miral to steal, thus causing them to synchronize so many times over the past few days.

After figuring out the whole story, Mirar and Henes were furious and staged a chase after their 'husband' in the school corridors, causing many professors who didn't really believe the rumors to start believing the dubious story. This left Mirar and Henes quite frustrated.

However, once Miral and Henes calmed down, they realized once again that they had been tricked.

Because of this rumor, no professor or shareholder was willing to support Henes anymore. They felt that they were all family, and it didn't matter who became vice principal; it was just a power struggle to gain Lu Ming's favor. It wouldn't help their interests in the slightest, and would only make them a target for Lu Ming. What was the point?

And Mirall couldn't possibly expel Heners from the magic school. The professor believed their discord was merely a family feud; her only intention in driving Heners away was to force Heners to her side so she could gain more benefits from the territory. She was grateful for the professors' help now, but once Heners submitted, she would turn around and help Heners against the professors!

Thinking back to the scene where they joined forces to chase down Lu Ming, it now seems like a show that Lu Ming arranged to prove the truth of the rumor!

Thinking about it carefully, when he was begging for forgiveness, he only used the term "darling," and didn't use any other terms, not even his name. Doesn't this indirectly suggest that this is a domestic dispute?!

"I was so careful, but I still fell into the trap!" Slumped onto the sofa in the principal's office, Miral wept with despair, watching Lu Ming grading papers.

“Now that the person most capable of threatening your position has been eliminated, what more could you want?” Lu Ming looked up at Miral and asked with a smile.

Upon hearing this, Miral sat up abruptly and said angrily, "Don't let me find out that you and that Henes are really having an affair, or I'll fight you to the death!"

"I already have enough to worry about with all of you troublesome kids. I don't want another burden like that."

"What do you mean?!"

"It's nothing." Lu Ming smiled slightly, then put down his pen and said to Miral, "The time for the invasion of the Aifa Empire is getting closer and closer. If you really want to develop puppet soldiers, you need to speed things up. Otherwise, once the war starts, you won't have much funding or title to offer."

"What funds and titles? I don't know anything about them." Upon hearing Lu Ming's words, Mira immediately turned her head away, not daring to look Lu Ming in the eye, and retorted.

"Yes, yes, I was just making things up, okay?"

Suddenly, Miral seemed to remember something and abruptly looked at Lu Ming, only to see him grading her students' assignments again. She opened her mouth slightly, wanting to say something, but ultimately said nothing...

-----------------------------------

Nothing happened that night, and it was time for the twelfth puppet soldier development experiment.

That day, Mirar and Henes, contrary to their usual behavior, did not bicker or have any conflicts, and even cooperated very well.

To everyone's surprise except Lu Ming, Mirar and Henes began directing the professors to modify the puppet soldiers' foundation, namely the binding magic, as quickly as possible to bring them to a point where they could basically achieve the desired goal.

Watching the two wolf-shaped puppet soldiers running around the room, and even with two chainsaws on their backs, they were able to operate very well, Miral, Henes, Ramanlas, and the professors were all very happy, because they had developed a puppet soldier that was even better than Amp's puppet soldiers and puppet monsters, and they would develop many more different puppet soldiers in the future.

At the same time, in order to compete with their puppet soldiers, Ampu will also begin to develop and improve puppet soldiers. Miracaisar can obtain a lot of high-quality puppet soldiers, thus gaining a great advantage when fighting against enemy countries!

However, when Ramanlas was celebrating with Miral and the others, she discovered that Lu Ming was no longer in the room.

Out of curiosity and worry, Ramanlas silently left the room and caught up with Lu Ming.

As a result, a knight in full armor handed a secret letter to Lu Ming.

Stepping forward, Ramanlas glanced at the contents of the secret letter and was slightly startled, for it contained news of the Aifa Empire's premature invasion!

"Lu Ming, this..."

"Ramanras, the war has begun once again. And the timing is perfect!" With a dangerous smile, Lu Ming put away the secret letter, then strode towards the secret room and shouted to the people inside, "Mirair Sachi, Henes Unos! Take your puppet soldiers, we're going to the front lines!"

Upon hearing this, the professors who had been cheering by lifting Miral and Henes into the air were startled and lost their grip on them, causing the two girls to fall heavily to the ground. Fortunately, Lu Ming conjured a cushion just in time to protect them from injury.

Miral and Henes rolled off the mat and hurriedly got up. Using magic, they manipulated the wolf-shaped puppet soldiers they had created together, and step by step, they followed Lu Ming's steps towards the school gate.

"I didn't expect the war to start so quickly."

Chapter Six - The Frontline

"I didn't expect that after the Aifar Empire invaded Tartarus, it would immediately send an army to attack our Erebus." On the city wall of a small border town, Lothric looked at the Aifar Empire's army slowly gathering outside the city and sighed slightly, saying to the generals beside him.

"My lord, judging from the movements of Aifa's army, it seems they are about to attack the city. Do you think you should go to a safe area to take refuge first?" Seeing Aifa's army gathering outside the city, a mid-level general who didn't know much about Lothric asked with some concern.

"It seems this general doesn't quite understand our Earl of Lothric!" Just then, Lu Ming climbed onto the city wall and couldn't help but laugh. "This fellow has only just returned from the battlefield!"

Turning around, they saw Lu Ming leading Ramanlas, Hawkwood, and two other centurions of Yogsotus to the city wall, along with more than three thousand Yogsotus soldiers.

“Too slow!” Lothric said, glancing indifferently at Lu Ming.

"No, we're too slow, the Aifa Empire is too fast." As he walked step by step toward Lothric and the others, looking at the Aifa Empire soldiers who were rushing to the city, Lu Ming said truthfully.

The army sent by the Empire of Aifa to attack the Duchy of Erebus numbered approximately 80,000 elves. When Yogsotus finished assembling and was heading towards the border, that army had not yet been separated from the main force of Aifa. In the end, it was Aifa's army that arrived first.

It is clear that Aifa's army did not rest when it rushed towards Erebus, but instead chose to march at full speed.

And now, for Erebus, it's just the right opportunity.

Taking advantage of the exhausted and weary army of Aifa, this is a perfect opportunity to launch a surprise attack. A successful attack would instantly shatter the morale of this army, putting them at a disadvantage in subsequent engagements, which would be extremely beneficial to the Duchy of Erebus.

Judging from their assembly movements, the elven army seemed intent on launching an attack after a forced march. Such an action would be utterly foolish in any country or among any race. However, neither Lu Ming nor Lothric believed that the commander of Aifa's army was an elf capable of such a foolish act; there must be a reason behind his/her actions.

Unfortunately, neither Lu Ming nor Lothric were suited to leading troops in battle, and they couldn't figure out what the elven commander was thinking.

Furthermore, launching an attack without knowing the opponent's strength makes it easy for them to turn the tables and ambush you. Therefore, a surprise attack is out of the question.

However, Lu Ming and Lothric were not good at troop deployment and would not choose the route of a surprise attack.

Both of them are skilled in unconventional and cunning tactics. They may not be good at fighting in a straightforward manner, but they can certainly deliver a heavy blow to the enemy by using unconventional methods!

Looking at the army of the Aifa Empire, which was basically assembled, Lu Ming slightly raised one hand. Instantly, the mages in Yugsotus took out their staffs, gathered a large amount of magic power, and compressed it.

A few breaths later, the mage waved his hand forcefully again, and shot the magic power that had been compressed to a certain degree towards Aifa's army!

Without any incantations, it was simply the application of magic, which, in the hands of the magician Yggdrasil, was like a magic cannon, destroying everything in its path.
