Make Azeroth breathtaking

What terrified him most was that no matter how far he looked in all directions, there was no trace of any intelligent life. This meant that he might really be used as a sacrifice!
"What do you want?!"
Knowing that if he were sacrificed, his soul would suffer even after death, Spion howled with all the strength in his throat and switched between several languages within minutes, including Naga, Elven, and the little bit of Trollish and Human he had learned out of boredom.
"...more is needed..."
Accompanied by eerie murmurs, the flames suddenly surged, and Spion seemed to see his end, an end where even death could not bring peace.
"Great being! If you need more sacrifices, I know of some... more suitable sacrifices!!"
Suddenly, a flash of inspiration struck Spion. Feeling he had grasped a glimmer of hope, he screamed upwards. As his desperate howl rang out, the surrounding fires gradually died down, and the strange symbols on the ground slowly disappeared.
"Where...?"
————————————Above the crack——————————————————
"Okay, that's all done."
Tanis took off the voice changer hanging around her neck and turned around to see Malfurion and Tyrande's strange faces.
"Disguising a sacrificial scene, how did you come up with such a bizarre method of torture?"
Malfurion, who in some ways used the power of nature as an accomplice, didn't know how to evaluate Tannis's idea, but he had to admit that it was very effective.
"After all, for any intelligent being, a genuine breakdown is a true breakdown."
Tennys packed up her projector, jumped off the rock, and left behind a sentence that echoed in the air.
"I'll go scout ahead!"
26. Continue the pursuit
Maiev leaned against a rock, eating small bites of food and occasionally sipping water. Beside her, the Wardens who could still move were also resting in places that made them a little more comfortable, using the supplies provided by Ratchet. Inside the makeshift tents, the Priestess of the Moon and the Druids used their magic combined with medicines provided by Ratchet to help the Wardens who were too badly injured, dehydrated, or starving to stand.
After pinpointing Maiev's location, Malfurion and Tyrande led the elite Sentinel forces to the Wardens' temporary camp at top speed. They swiftly dispatched the scattered demons blocking the entrance, a group of fel beasts gnawing on corpses, and a few Naga who had slipped through the net, successfully rescuing Maiev.
"I thought it would take you much longer to get here—and that you'd be coming all by yourself."
Having regained some strength, Maiev stood up, leaning against the rock, and looked at Tyrande and Malfurion with a blank expression.
"What has my dear brother been doing here? Why have these ruins resurfaced from the sea?"
Knowing that Maiev harbored resentment towards Tyrande and his decision to release Illidan to fight the Burning Legion, Malfurion was too lazy to waste any more words with Maiev and went straight to the point.
"Heh... your good brother... seems to have found something extraordinary here... although I don't know who sealed it here, there's no doubt that terrifying evil energy surges within it—evil energy so terrifying that even I tremble!"
"Do you know where he went? I haven't found any trace of him on this broken island."
"That's a question for you, Archdruid Malfurion. I need to reorganize my troops."
Maiev, not wanting to continue talking with Malfurion and his wife, flicked her cloak and left leisurely, leaving Tyrande and Malfurion looking at each other in bewilderment.
"My love, Illidan's character is such that what he does will never be a small matter."
"Yes...that's what I'm worried about...but the key is, we can't find Illidan at all, and we don't know what he's up to..."
Malfurion frowned, pondering what his brother might be doing.
“Illidan has not returned to Kalimdor, but he has not been seen on this island either, so it is highly likely that he went to the Eastern Kingdoms.”
Tyrande spoke in a low voice.
"Could it be that he wants to find the descendants of Dath'Remar? But their dynasty has already collapsed, and even if he finds those exiles, what can he do? What exactly does he want to do with that terrible fel gem?"
"I don't know, but my gut feeling tells me he went to the Eastern Kingdom."
"In other words, we need to continue hiring the Ratchet fleet; hopefully, the night elves still have enough wealth to feed them."
After saying this half-jokingly, Malfurion transformed into a raven, took flight, and disappeared into the clouds.
————————————Sea Surface——————————————————————————
Illidan Stormrage sat cross-legged in the dimly lit cabin, his body swaying gently with the waves. The Twin Blades of Azzinoth were casually stuck in the deck beside him, and his eyes, now consumed by fel energy, were fixed on the unassuming emerald he held in his hand.
"The Eye of Sargeras... who... could possibly seal a portion of the Dark Titan's power within it?"
Upon first seeing the gem named after the Dark Titan, Illidan was already astonished by the terrifying power it contained. After observing it closely, he was even more shocked by its horror. This was because, during the War of the Ancients, Illidan had faced Sargeras head-on, and the faint aura emanating from this gem, identical to Sargeras', was crystal clear to him, like a torch in the night! Undoubtedly, if a suitable center for a magical array was found, this gem could, just as the great demon Kil'jaeden had predicted, destroy the Frozen Throne in Northrend.
"Kil'jaeden..."
Clutching the gem tightly, Illidan murmured the name of the great demon who had forced him to do this. In fact, when Kil'jaeden approached him to discuss cooperation, he had refused. However, Kil'jaeden revealed a secret, a secret that could endanger the entire world of Azeroth, a secret that might be a lie, but one that forced him to cooperate with this fraudster, Kil'jaeden—a secret that Illidan dared not gamble on whether it was true or not.
“Brother, Tyrande..…”
Unconsciously, Illidan recalled the past ten thousand years ago, when the three of them fought side by side against the Burning Legion. But ten thousand years had changed too much, so much that Illidan no longer knew what his feelings for Tyrande were. But at least now, he was willing to do anything to protect Tyrande, even if it meant cooperating with Kil'jaeden, the guy he hated the most.
"Lord Illidan, the advance force has already captured a beach; we should be able to land in the Eastern Kingdoms in no more than a day."
Vashj slithered onto Illidan's small boat like a snake, her eyes filled with tenderness as she looked at this extraordinary man who had captivated even the Queen ten thousand years ago.
“Very good, Vashj…”
Illidan slowly rose from the cabin, his demonic wings unfurling behind him.
"Let us find a suitable moment to bring an end to the existence of that 'Lich King' in Northrend."
----------------fleet--------------------
"To the Eastern Kingdom?"
Tanis, who was carefully examining the remnants of some ancient elven ornaments she had picked up on the Broken Beach, looked up at Malfurion.
“Yes, Tyrande believes that Illidan most likely took that terrible evil artifact to the Eastern Kingdoms, so we must continue our pursuit of him.”
Seeing Malfurion's matter-of-fact expression, Tanis's lips twitched a few times, but in the end, she could only let out a sigh.
"Okay... but can you confirm which region of the Eastern Kingdoms Illidan landed in?"
“I interrogated all the Naga you captured, and they told me that Illidan is looking for a powerful magical node—a magical node on land.”
Maiev appeared silently in the cabin, her sudden appearance startling Tannis.
"A powerful terrestrial magic node? Miss Tanis, you frequently trade between the two continents, do you know where this requirement applies?"
Tennys nodded gently.
"As far as I know, there are two suitable areas, but they have both been reduced to ruins. One is Silvermoon City, the capital of the Kingdom of Quel'Thalas, and the other is Dalaran, the human kingdom. Both of these are magical kingdoms and should be built on magical nodes."
"I know Quel'Thalas; it's a kingdom founded by the descendants of those exiles. Is Dalaran the human kingdom destroyed by Archimonde?"
"Ah."
Which one is closer to the Broken Islands?
"Dalaran."
Malfurion nodded slightly.
"It seems our next stop is Dalaran."

barren.
corruption.
This was Archdruid Malfurion's first impression upon setting foot in Hillsbrad Foothills. On the lifeless ground, withered, listless weeds grew stubbornly in sparse patches, spreading towards several undulating hills in the distance. Trees that had long since lost their lives stretched their gnarled limbs toward the sky, as if trying to grasp even the slightest bit of warm sunlight filtering through the gray clouds. Even the wind was no longer lively, but filled with a certain somber emotion.
"Is this the result of being ravaged by natural disasters and plagues?"
Tyrande kicked away a rabbit that was mostly rotting, frowned, and looked into the distance. In that direction, there were some dilapidated houses made of wooden planks, and a windmill that was still slowly turning, exuding an eerie calm.
"Hmm... At least two years ago at this time, our Ratchet still had a small merchant guild outpost in that town, used to purchase grain from Lordaeron."
Tannis, who hadn't been to Hillsbrad Foothills for almost a year, gave a somber reply. Although she had long anticipated what Hillsbrad Foothills would look like now, seeing the once prosperous town transformed into its current state still shocked her considerably.
"What blasphemy this is..."
Malfurion sighed softly, squatted down, and gently rubbed a blade of grass. After a while, a serious expression appeared on his face.
“My brother is indeed here… He is presiding over a ritual… a ritual that even the spirits of nature in Hillsbrads tremble with fear.”
———————————————Strange dividing line————————————————
Illidan Stormrage was in a good mood; this was only the second time he had felt good since he was imprisoned ten thousand years ago, aside from seeing Tyrande.
In the ruins of Dalaran, he actually found the elves of Quel'Thalas—descendants of the Highborne elves, Dath'Remar, who had received his favor ten thousand years ago—this group of elves, who now called themselves Blood Elves, inherited the fearsome arcane power of the elven empire ten thousand years ago and were excellent servants. What's even better is that the current leader of this group of elves is a young man, a young man who has heard his story and sees him as his lifeline.
"Of course I still have the bottles, but what can you offer in return?"
Looking at the group of blood elves before him, who were suffering from mana addiction and rummaging through the ruins of Dalaran for any remaining items that could absorb even a tiny bit of arcane energy, and who had lost their elven elegance under the torment of pain and hatred, Illidan grinned, revealing his sharp teeth that no longer resembled those of an elf.
As if grasping at a last straw, Kael'thas, the current leader of the blood elves and their prince, knelt down without hesitation and offered his scepter.
"very good......"
Illidan took Kael'thas's scepter, and with a clench of his right hand, a ball of pure energy appeared. Kael'thas stared at this energy, his Adam's apple bobbing up and down, and you could even hear his own heavy breathing.
"This is a small reward to begin with... Now I need some mages to do something for me. Which of you... is willing to accept this honor?"
————————————————Blood Elf Perspective——————————————————
Kael'thas felt that what he had experienced today was a dream, a dream he couldn't believe.
After Quel'Thalas collapsed and the Sunwell was corrupted, he and his people had to face the deadly truth that their source of power had vanished, and all of them—especially the spellcasters—had to confront a terrible disease.
That is—addiction.
At first, the blood elves could suppress their magic addiction by absorbing trace amounts of free arcane ions in the air and using the spellcaster's willpower. However, as time went on, the emptiness gradually caused some of the weaker mages to show signs of madness. Kael'thas had no choice but to take the lead in using some less important magical items as consumables so that these poor blood elves could retain a sliver of sanity.
However, with Quel'Thalas now destroyed, Kael'thas and his followers have very limited magical items at their disposal. As a result, Kael'thas can only watch helplessly as his people are devoured by madness one after another, turning into monsters who only know how to seek energy. Every day, every minute, every second, there is a chance that blood elves may become mindless.
Knowing that his people's situation could not be delayed, Kael'thas set aside his elven dignity and the pride of a prince, and led a few members of his personal guard to Lordaeron's largest refugee settlement to seek help from Garithos, the human commander there. The blood elf rangers still retained their fighting strength, and he asked Garithos to give some magical items to his people in exchange for allowing the blood elf rangers to participate in the war—just a few, that would be enough.
However, Garethus's words nearly plunged him into hell.
"I'm sorry, Prince of the Elves. Because this force was established in a very hasty manner, I don't have many magical items to spare. Moreover, given that your people's mental state is not very stable right now, I suggest that you stay away from our camp. Right now, the members of the alliance are all on edge, and I don't want to turn against my former allies before we can fight those mindless zombies to the death."
Having understood Garithos's implied meaning, Kael'thas had no choice but to abandon the idea and instead led his people to the ruins of Dalaran. Although Dalaran was destroyed, it was still possible to obtain some magical remnants from it. Thus, Kael'thas and his people temporarily settled in Dalaran—a settlement with no future in sight.
